De weg er naartoe, was een slechte weg en een eindje van het centrum af.

Nonostante un piccolo problema dovuto ad un blackout, il nostro soggiorno è stato estremamente piacevole. La struttura è curata, la camera e il bagno molto grandi. Letto comodissimo. Siamo riusciti a riscaldare velocemente la stanza, nonostante i 13 gradi fuori .. lo consiglio! Buonissima la colazione

La chambre était impeccable, très comfortable et luxueuse. Le personnel était aux petits soins et le petit déjeuner très bon également ! La vue avait l’air super malgré les nuages !

Le cottage est un peu éloigné de Nuwara Eliya mais les PickMe viennent jusqu’ici donc c’était parfait

Amazing place to stay! It looks like a premium chalet! Staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was wonderful. I would definitely stay again in this place. It's bad that we only stayed in Nuwara Eliya for one day. It's totally worth it to be there for 2-3 days and Cottage San Francesco is the place you need to stay!

Amazing property, spacious, clean, fully renovated. “Cottage charm” 100%!

Only downside is that it is not mentioned from the main road. Follow the sign “misty hills hotel”, it’s on the same road.

Das Haus an sich hat viel Potential und einen richtig tollen Ausblick. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, wirklich substantiell war es aber nicht.

Wir haben uns im Cottage San Francesco leider nicht sehr wohlgefühlt und sind einen Tag früher abgereist als geplant. Das Hotel ist leider sehr lieblos und karg eingerichtet. Außerdem ist an sehr vielen Wänden und Decken Schimmel zu finden. In gewissem Maß ist das an einem Ort mit so hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit sicher nicht zu vermeiden, aber in diesem Ausmaß ist das gesundheitsgefährdend. Das Hotel ist völlig ab vom Schuß, viele Pick me-Fahrer haben nicht hergefunden.

Wirklich tolle Unterkunft, großes Zimmer. Tolle mit viel Holz gemacht.

Weg zum Hotel ist etwas schmal und steil, aber machbar mit einem kleinen Auto.

Das Haus hat eine tolle hochwertige Ausstattung, das Zimmer war toll mit einem großartigen Ausblick.

Leider war die Bettwäsche sehr feucht und klamm. War nicht so angenehm. Wir haben im Hotel zu Abend gegessen, weil wir unserem Fahrer den Weg (steil und sehr eng) zur Unterkunft nochmals an dem Tag ersparen wollten. Allerdings haben wir uns mit dem Essen doch sehr abgezockt gefühlt, 15 Dollar pro Person für ein 3 Gänge Menü. Eine Suppe, ein bisschen gebratenen Reis und eine Kugel Eis. Wir haben überall anders so viel für uns zwei bezahlt und auch noch wesentlich besser.

Großes Zimmer. Schöne Landschaft.

Wir waren insgesamt enttäuscht: Haus und Zimmer sehr dunkel (Vorhänge werden ständig zugezogen, warum?). Keine Hinweise, was man unternehmen könnte (z.B. in der direkten Umgebung wandern). Anfahrtsweg schwierig. Frühstück einfach (Toast, Früchte, Omelette, ohne Auswahl). Abendessen teuer (USD 15, nicht genutzt). An der Hauptstraße gibt es einen Backladen, dort wird derzeit ein ATM errichtet und ein wohl weiteres Geschäft (vielleicht ist es in Zukunft dann besser gelegen).

The rooms & place was absolutely faultless. The rooms were huge with the most incredible views. Everything was spotless and we had everything we needed.

Just personal preference we felt quite isolated, multiple taxis& Tuktuks cancelled our rides because of how remote / steep the hill is. we didn’t feel like the staff spoke to us at all. No questions about our plans or if our stay was ok etc. they were smiley and kind when we saw them though.

This has been my favorite lodging in the 3 weeks I've been in Sri Lanka. The view is incredible. It is outside of the main area so it is peaceful and scenic. The distance might be a bit much for travelers without a car, but we rented a car so it was perfect. And parking was ample. The staff are super nice and friendly. The room is huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but good. We felt so good staying here we booked for an extra two nights. I am going to be sad leaving.

These are just minor things but I would have liked more light in the room and a stronger Wi-Fi. It was near impossible to watch ICC World Cup with the buffering.

Nuestra experiencia fue positiva, la habitación era cómoda y espaciosa, lo único es que estaba arriba de todo y hay que subir por las escaleras con el equipaje, pero sin mayor problema. Por las mañanas sirven un desayuno abundante y variado. Para cenar llevamos algo y lo tomamos allí. El personal atento a nuestras necesidades.

Tuvimos mal tiempo y eso fastidio un poco nuestros planes, pero la casa no tiene la culpa de eso...

The accommodation offers exactly what you need in this area when it’s drizzly and cold: a cozy room, warm blankets, hot water, and heating. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

The property is quite remote, although it is beautifully located in the middle of the tea fields. Good restaurants are not within walking distance.

The room we were staying in was nice, with a nice shower, comfortable bed and nice view; a welcoming place with an old-fashioned style. Both dinner and breakfast are both good (also possibly the only choice if you don't want to head back to town). Very friendly staff with whom we had a few chats as he spoke very good Italian

The kitchen might need more ventilation as the food smell can be felt even from higher floors (we were at 2nd). Make sure to have a good driver as the road to get there is quite steep and narrow

Location in a calm area, amazing views. Really nice and helpful staff. Spacious room, and a bath was really nice. Good breakfast. They also provide laundry service for an extra price.

Very cold in a hotel outside the room (in a room you can find a heater), smells from the kitchen in the lobby, few times there was no hot water, so we had to wait until we can have a shower.

Le manque de déco et l’ambiance de l’hôtel pas très chaleureux, la lumière dans la chambre le matin, les nuisances sonores (on sait que ce n’est pas de la faute de l’hôtel mais on a entendu la mosquée à côté sans interruption le soir et à partir de 5h du matin, prévoyez des bouchons d’oreille)

首先是装修，酒店就像是一幢英伦村庄的城堡屋，里面的装修也是非常的结实一看就是花了心思和价钱的；第二位置在山上视野非常好，早上看到当地居民种植想起了自己小时候的家，虽然在山上最后有一段小路本以为很难走开车上去也就2-3分钟下雨也不影响通行，没有这么曲折的探索怎么能看到绝美山景？第三是服务，前台服务员特别nice，很耐心的处理每一个小需求，帮我们准备了晚餐，即使只有两份蛋炒饭也非常的有仪式感摆好盘子，纸巾，刀叉，饮料，才开启用餐，第四是早餐，煎蛋非常好吃，三明治也好吃，每个都好吃，水果果汁咖啡茶样样满意，口味比前面的星级酒店都美味很多，第五是房间里面，房间很大，床很大，浴室很宽敞，卫生很干净，看得出来老板对自己的民宿是很在乎用心的，还有加热器我们去的时候正好下雨冷大概15-18度多亏暖气暖身子才不会感冒。我们两大两小这里没有要求我们加超员费用和加付儿童早餐费。如果喜欢山顶景色的非常推荐朋友们选择这里。

La habitación es enorme y estaba limpísima. El baño también muy bien. Por la noche hace frío pero tiene una estufa que calienta el espacio rápido. La cama es muy cómoda y el edredón gordito viene estupendamente. Está un poco alejado del centro pero en nuestro caso era fantástico porque buscamos tranquilidad y nada de ruido. Las vistas desde el hotel son maravillosas. Desayuno muy bien . El personal muy amable. Wifi OK en la habitación

Villa confortevole e moderna lungo la strada che conduce a Nuwara Eliya, ma in posizione appartata e silenziosa. Camera spaziosa, letto comodissimo, bagno top! Ricca colazione inclusa e... Il proprietario, gentilissimo e prodigo di informazioni per visitare al meglio la zona, parla italiano!

La stradina per arrivare è un po' impervia nelle ultime centinaia di metri, ma ce l'ho fatta con una Suzuki Alto che non è certo il massimo quanto a prestazioni :) In camera ho sentito la mancanza di un tavolino ben illuminato dove poter leggere o scrivere

Il proprietario ha vissuto 15 anni in Italia e parla un ottimo italiano, la struttura era molto accogliente e nuova di zecca, il personale è stato estremamente gentile. La location è affascinante. Faceva molto freddo e il proprietario ci ha acceso il riscaldamento! Tutto molto pulito! Consiglio vivamente.

Wir hatten zwei wunderbar gemütliche Übernachtungen im Cottage. Wir waren in einem separaten Haus untergebracht und hatten dieses ganz für uns allein. Die Gastgeber sind sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit! Schon vor der Ankunft gab es wertvolle Tipps für die Reise. Vor Ort wurden wir mit einem sehr leckeren vielfältigen Frühstück verwöhnt, auch das Abendmenü war absolut köstlich! Insgesamt fühlten wir uns sehr wohl. Vielen Dank!

Struttura molto particolare, baita di montagna molto bella con bella vista sui campi. Pulita ed arredata bene. Colazione molto abbondante. Essendo in altura bisogna arrivarci con un mezzo. Staff gentilissimo, il titolare parla anche italiano :)

Purtroppo soggiornando in una giornata fredda la stanza non era caldissima, ma accendendo il ventilconvettore, dopo un paio d’ore la stanza si è riscaldata. Il bagno non avendo riscaldamento rimane freddino.

I absolutely loved Cottage San Francesco. I had only booked for one night and extended my stay because of how much I enjoyed it. I spent quite a long time researching hotels in the area before booking this one, but genuinely don’t waste your time looking elsewhere and get this one booked - it is wonderful! The beds are so premium and luxurious and comfortable that getting out of them to go and see NE was very difficult indeed! But the excellent breakfast and warm smiles of the people working there made it a bit easier to finally get out of bed! Everything in the room was super clean and comfortable and my mountain views were outstanding. The hosts are so so kind and extremely helpful. Every question I asked was met with quick and informative answers. They even checked in during the day to check I was doing ok and having a good time. I read some comments that mentioned the location being a little far out, but actually for visiting the nicest tea plantations (Damro and Blueview) it is very well placed. It is also not too far from the town at all and the location means that it benefits from the amazing views that it has. Will only stay here when I return to the area.

Had a very good time in Cottage San francesco. Without a doubt the best stay of our Sri Lanka trip. Special thanks to the Asitha and his team who made the stay memorable. A big shout out to Sandishkar who was available for every request. The rooms were spacious and clean. The property is well maintained with a fantastic view of the valley. The breakfast was excellent with a wide spread. We also had dinner which was freshly prepared and served. Overall a very serene, peaceful stay. Would highly recommend this stay if you visit Nuwara Eliya. Excellent property, Great food! Great Service and Fantastic people! All the best!

We had a very good stay at Cottage San Francesco! The room was very beautiful, big comfortable bed, amazing view from the balcony, and a lot space!! The staff was also very kind, helpful and friendly! We stayed here for two nights and we got different breakfast served for the two days. The breakfast was completely fine and definitely enough! It is somewhat out of the city, so your own tuktuk is very useful, or uber/taxi/pickme would be great to use! Very great stay at the cottage!!

The cottage was nice and view was very pretty, however we were served rotten bread at breakfast. The staff were nice but felt they need more training so that such things do not happen again. Other than that all was good.

The room exceeded our expectations! So comfy, cozy and beautiful. Great views, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. We ordered a taxi to take us to the city centre - it was only a ten minute ride. Hope to be back one day.

Stunning room with lovely views. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Bed is really comfortable It’s out the way of the busy Nuwara centre with lovely views of all the tea plantations and hills. We didn’t fancy going out in the night time so the staff provided us with lots of different options to eat in the hotel which was perfect for us. Big thank you to the lovely lady who carried around 6 courses of food up and down the stairs to breakfast!

Property is well maintained and beautiful. Views from Balcony are amazing. Host guided us places to visit around and his suggestions really helped us explore the place. We travelled with toddler and we host was very kind to provide milk and as well packaged lunch. Host son Alexander was fun and my son had good time playing with him. I enjoyed the place because of great hospitality.

Everything. It’s like staying in a European chalet. A real change in Sri Lanka at over 6,000 ft., was a little cool in the evenings, but delightful. The owner is a very nice guy who lived in Italy for a few years, thus the name. Hotel is very clean, price is very reasonable and perched on a hill with a magnificent view. Highly recommend!

Swiss chalet style guest house with fabulous views over tea and vegetable plantations. Large room with huge bed and modern ensuite. Friendly helpful staff. Plus huge tasty breakfast. Its 10 mins or so to town in a tuk tuk.

Nothing really. If i was being super picky and this is more to assist owner, a comfy chair in the room would be great to look at the view and a storage cupboard in the bathroom for toiletries.

The whole journey at the cottage San Francesco was wonderful. The breakfast is exceptional and there was a huge variety of food. The staff (especially the owner) is very kind and helpful for suggesting you the best activities to do in Nuwara Eliya. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Cottage San Francesco. It's a short tuk-tuk ride away from town which means Nuwara Eliya is very accessible yet you get to enjoy the quiet and solitude of being in the hills. With spectacular views of tea plantations and the valley, the hotel is comfortable and peaceful. We also slept so well here in the big, cozy beds with nice thick blankets. The San Francesco team also made our stay enjoyable by providing recommendations, helping to organize transportation, and generally going above and beyond. If we're lucky we'll be back here one day!

Only thing that could be improved in my opinion is some comfortable outdoor seating for watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the property

Cottage is located up on a steep hill so it’s a bit difficult to reach with a tuktuk or car if not familiar with the road but the owner was very kind in offering to drop us off on the main road

It was a spacious room had lot of shelves to keep our stuff. The staff was very helpful to get the baggages to our room which was on the 2nd flour.(No lift) Breakfast was nicely presented and delicious, offered more if you needed.

It would have been much better if they have a bench to keep our baggages on during packing and unpacking.But the staff was kind enough to lend us the coffee table.We missed chairs in the room and bit dark.(Not enough lighting)

Amazing view and comfortable room. The hotel is not in down town and is down a very local road, but we liked that for our stay.

We stayed 1 night (2 adults + 1 child) and we regret we didn't stay longer. Cottage San Francesco exceeded our expectations. Everything was super well organized from check-in to check out, a big "plus"! Staff really friendly and helpful. They gave us nice dinner recommendations in the city and arranged a tuktuk for us. Room was big, clean, quiet and with a wonderful view on the tea fields and mountains. Bed was super comfortable. Beautiful breakfast and tasty. We saw that some previous comments were negative about the location and the access, but for us, location was amazing, with stunning views. For the access, even a small car can access easily without issues.

Beautiful Italian mountain style property on hill top out of town with lovely far reaching views. The interior of the property has amazing wood fixings.

A little way off main road but no problem for our driver. Not a dislike just pointing out away from centre but only LKR600 for Tuk into town in about 10 minutes.

All has been perfect. The room was very cute with a large view on the countryside. The bathroom was quite new. The breakfast served on time was very good. The manager is very friendly and more of that speak italian.

The protection on the Windows bay, which could be opened but was not fitted with railings. A bit dangerous, especially if you come with children.

We stayed one night and it was one of the best accomodation we have had in Sri Lanka. Located on top of the hill but not far away from city centre. Room was spaceous, super clean(which is realy important for us) and has nice view on tea plantations. Breakfast was realy tasty. We do recomend this place.

This place is up among local fields - a beautiful setting. The room was physically clean with mold on some walls and drapes. The bed was comfortable with a thick, warm comforter. When we arrived there was no one around…we didn't know where we should enter…it felt abandoned. The hotel is a huge ski lodge like building with shared spaces that are mainly empty except for wooden tables and chairs for eating breakfast. It was very cold in the building. There was a stone fireplace on the third floor, with no evidence of ever being used. When we inquired about dinner we were shown a pizza order form and we believe a pizza was delivered to the hotel. We had read about wonderful homemade food here, but we did not experience that. We ordered cinnamon tea and got hot water with one piece of cinnamon stick and limes…it tasted like hot lime water. The interior of the building brings all voices and noise right up to the top. We had read wonderful glowing reviews, and we felt mislead. Like: local family hosting us; eating is at tables outside of rooms; large warm comforter on bed; local farm fields next door; hot water in shower; liquid body wash and shampoo provided; heater in room; fresh fruit, fresh papaya juice, deep fried fish, meat sausages, egg salad sandwiches with onion, sunnyside-up eggs, French toast and toast for breakfast; large and soft towels; host helped us get a tuk tuk into town (600 rupees); host helped us with our tuk tuk flaps

Don't like: when we arrived there was no one around to greet us - we didn't know where to enter the building; the building was very big and empty…it didn’t feel cozy; there was a stone fireplace in the common area - no signs of ever having a fire; can order dinner, but the menu is pizza; a bit noisy from sounds from guests and other people; internet not working when we arrived; common areas very cold - no heat; no chairs/hooks in room to hang out clothes for airing; hot water sometimes…it was hot, then instantly changed to ice cold; tablecloths need to be replaced; mold on walls and drapes; price is too high for what is offered; the reviews don’t match what we experienced - very unusual for Booking
