We were in a front twin room (2) which looks onto the main road . It was not too busy but if you are not used to traffic noise it could disturb your sleep .

Nice location during our travels through Scotland. Room was nice. We had breakfast and dinner duringvour stay and both were exceptional. Staff was friendly especially when we misplaced our key. USB by bedside as well as lighting access. .

Probably a European thing, but difficult to get shower started without getting wet or standing in shower while it warms. Traffic and bar noise can be loud at times.

Sometimes we wanted to play board games so we had to go our room to do it. Perhaps it would be nice to have a space close to the bar for that.

It’s was a very well taken care of hotel. The staff were great and helped us find a laundress to clean our travel clothes.

A very nice hotel in a convenient location, around a 10-minute walk from the train station. The hotel has a pleasant, classic style throughout, with bright, clean rooms and a nice bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast included a cooked option from the menu as well as some basic choices such as cereals. I personally didn’t love it, and they made a mistake with our order, but it was adequate. We didn’t get a chance to try the hotel restaurant, although the menu looked varied. They had a wedding on during our stay so I think this hotels is liked by the locals. I would happily stay here again. The hotel feels well cared for, with a sense that the owners take pride in it.

One downside for us, although not a reflection on the hotel, was the town itself. It felt somewhat run-down, with quite a few boarded-up premises and not much atmosphere, and even the beach was fairly underwhelming. We mainly stayed here because accommodation in St Andrews was already very limited, and it is around an hour away by bus. While the hotel itself is somewhere I would stay again, I’m not sure the town would be a destination I would recommend.

Das vegetarische Frühstück - Das Porridge - war wirklich nur ein Haferschleim, ohne Toppings, ohne Sirup, ohne Früchte etc. Es war ungenießlich. Dafür das wir extra ein Hotel mit Frühstück gebucht haben waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Das Frühstücksbuffet bestand nur aus Kellogs, Leitungswasser und Saft. Auch der Kafffee war schlecht. Das Zimmer war sehr spotanisch eingerichtet. Alles sehr billig.

The location was good and the rooms spacious and clean. It was central and easy to find and easy to explore the town from. The staff were helpful and polite and check in and check out was good. The food was basic and as a vegan there were limited options available to me. I was staying for a funeral and the tea was being held there so it was convenient for me to stay.

The lights didn’t work near my room in the corridor which I forgot to mention. It was a flying visit so busy.

There was 1 member of staff that seemed to do everything, man reception / bar / guest requests. Room was adequate for the price and breakfast was good. Bathroom was a bit small and got ironing board on request but needs re-padding. Bed was OK but need to consider blackout blinds or curtains.

I arrived at 8.15pm to be told that dinner service had finished and there were no restaurants open nearby, Having been driving all day I found this really annoying especially when I was then told that takeaway food was not allowed. Ordered a food delivery anyway otherwise would not have eaten and was prepared to argue my case. The location of the hotel, although near the station is very poor and rundown and I would not like to have to go out on foot at night.

Nous avons séjourné dans une chambre très confortable et rénovée. La salle de bains est fonctionnelle et les couchages confortables, tout est propre. Le personnel est très gentil, aux petits soins. L'hôtel dispose d'un très bon restaurant, avec des plats copieux et des bon produits. Bonne situation géographique et parking privé.

Le bruit de la musique d'une fête organisée au restaurant ce soir-là. Mais ce n'est qu'un avis personnel qui n'entache pas la bonne expérience que nous y avons vécue.

The staff was kind. There's private parking available, free for guests (you'll get exit tokens at the reception desk, the barrier opens automatically upon entry).

The breakfast starts at 8 during the weekend (Sat-Sun), which causes some inconveniences - if 15 minutes saves you, starting a bit earlier may be possible (it was when we were there), but keep that in mind making your plans and schedule. The shower faucet had only the top shower head with no hand shower head available - not a problem for me, but my wife found it inconvenient as she didn't want to get her hair wet when she didn't plan to wash it (shower caps were not available, at least not in the room - it would be nice to put some in the room to overcome that issue). I personally didn't enjoy the payment-at-the-property-only, as I prefer to pay by Booking upfront (immediately upon booking), but cards are accepted and perhaps it's just my preference and nobody else would be bothered by that.

The staff were lovely. Check,-in was very smooth. Our room was spacious and had a modern bathroom. Great shower. Nice breakfast and cooked to order.

Our whole stay was everything and more. The food was amazing and the staff out of this world. We felt cared of and at home. Special mention has to go to Sheila, she was helpful, caring, funny amazing nothing was too much trouble.

Very welcoming, we stayed for 2 nights. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful from telling us about the area to arranging a taxi for us for a family wedding when it was in the middle of a school run. I couldn’t speak more highly of this hotel the beds were comfortable and clean

If I had anything negative it would be dogs but we were put in another room for breakfast which wasn’t so bad

Das Hotel liegt etwas oberhalb vom Hafen, aber fussläufig kein Problem. Ein kostenloser seeehr grosser Parkplatz steht hinter dem Haus zur Verfügung. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Auf dem Weg zu unserem Zimmer fiel gleich auf: Verdammt gross. An den Zimmertüren konnte man gleich erkennen, dass hier erst vor kurzem "hochwertig" saniert wurde. Das setzte sich dann auch im Zimer und vor allem im Bad fort. Das Zimmer war ausreichend gross, die Dusche erst recht, aber leider auch warm das Zimmer. Wir lernten allerdings dort später einen unglaublichen Ventilator kennen...flüsterleise und effektiv. Das Frühstück wurde frisch zubereitet, von top Qualität und in einem Raum....unglaublich schön.

😶...ausser vielleicht der Ort selbst. Nach dem Zusammenbruch der Kohleindustrie in UK, sieht man hier leider auch den Verfall auf der Geschäftsstrasse. Die Küstenstrasse bietet leider rein gar nichts....ausser dem Blick auf das Meer....aber: letzter Halt vor Newcastle (Fähre)☝🏻

Lo stile antico e l'età della struttura si percepiscono ovunque, soprattutto nelle sale da pranzo e sulla bellissima scala. Ottima la possibilità di mangiare presso l'ottimo ristorante, ottimo il parcheggio privato.

La stanza priva di climatizzatore (c'era un ventilatore) nel sotto tetto era molto calda e difficile da raffrescare, molto piccola per due adulti.

The room was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a range of options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for walking to the promenade and shops.

The only thing a lift, but it's a old building. So if you mobility problems this hotel would not meet your needs. We only had to go up 2 flights of stairs, which was good as I have bad legs, and my son walks with a stick.

A really lovely hotel in Kirkcaldy. The staff were exceptional, really friendly and attentive. Lovely abd clean throughout and a nice selection of meals. Beds were really comfortable and bathrooms clean and modern.

Could not get tv to connect to Internet so no netflix or amazon prime which was a shame as we had early evenings in and wanted to watch a film. Each bedroom has extremely heavy fire doors (a necessity) but they are extremely loud when closing and can be heard from all adjacent rooms.

They are very sharp on rules no takeaways in the hotel but they stop serving food at 830pm. This is good so they are able to push there own food offering etc but doesn't help anyone like me who likes to eat late and chill and eat in the room

Everything works: TV, shower, checking in and out; in short the hotel runs smoothly. Breakfast is as hearty as you choose it to be, cooked fresh. Staff are friendly and efficient. You can have an evening meal without ordering in advance.

Hairdriers are not available in the rooms. They have to be requested.

Always an excellent breakfast. The evening meals are excellent and great value, the bar prices are very reasonable.

The only drawback with this hotel is that it has no lift, at some point my wife is going to be unable to manage the stairs.

Paid extra for an upgrade to a deluxe bedroom. You could barely fit a small double bed in it. Very cramped. There is no way that was a deluxe double room. Staff also didn't notify me when breakfast was. Breakfast was okay at best but on previous visits, the quality of the food was much better. . This used to be my go-to hotel in Kirkcaldy. Now the prices have risen but the standards have dropped. A sign of the times. Very disappointed.

We had been at a family funeral and arrived back to the hotel at 19:30: we went to change and came back to order food we asked if we could order at 19:49 and were told we were to late even though food was still being brought out and desserts were being ordered we found this unacceptable even though we explained we had been at a family funeral they were totaly not inerested with this being the case we will not stay again and will inform family and friends never to use this hotel

The staff were lovely, breakfast was good. Tried haggis for the 1st time and wasn’t disappointed. Good location, short walk to the town centre and lovely sandy beach.

We were put in a room overlooking an active demolition site. Which was unbearable noisy. Despite talking to a member of staff a day prior to arrival, this was not mentioned. And no information on their website. As we had 2 dogs with us we needed to be out of the room from 8am to 5:30pm to escape the noise. We couldn’t keep the window closed as it was so warm. Thus a very stressful couple of days. We sent 2 emails to the hotel and have had no response. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Lovely Traditional Hotel

De meerderheid van het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Enkel de verantwoordelijke aan de receptie was absoluut niet vriendelijk en enkel uit op zo veel mogelijk geld uit de zakken van haar gasten te kloppen

Ik had de single room geboekt. Mooie kamer, maar de matras was een ramp. Zelfs zonder dat ik erop lag, zakte ze volledig door. Ik heb 1 nacht geprobeerd, maar heb geen oog dicht gedaan en tegen de ochtend serieus last van mijn rug. Toen ik vroeg of ze een stevigere matras hadden ging het kamermeisje dit checken. Ze gaf toe dat de matras wel heel zacht was. Geen andere matras beschikbaar enkel een dubbel kamer die ze normaal niet verhuren omdat de afzuiging van de keuken daar uitkomt. De matras was echter een stuk beter en aangezien ik nog 3 nachten moest blijven beslist om te veranderen. Pas volgende dag konden ze mij zeggen hoeveel dit extra zou kosten. De persoon aan de receptie wilde de volgende dag zelfs niet naar de matras kijken, maar moest wel 95 pond extra betalen voor een kamer die ze normaal niet verhuren en terwijl een degelijke matras toch het minste is dat je mag verwachten als je een kamer huurt.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The dining room was beautiful and the food was good. The hotel is situated a short walk from the railway station and the art gallery / museum. The town centre and sea front are also within walking distance.

Our bedroom was small with little storage for cases. The shower floor was very slippy with no bath mat. When we asked if the hotel could provide a mat we were told they did not have any but the owner was aware of the problem. We bought a bath mat ourselves for our own safety.

Hôtel qui côtoyait une zone en travaux, heureusement avec notre horaire d'arrivée et de départ nous n'avons pas été impactés. Cela aurait pu être très dommageable.... Nous avions choisi cette dernière étape de notre séjour en Ecosse pour la proximité de l'aéroport d'Edimbourg. Parking privé sur l'arrière de l'hôtel. A notre arrivée un peu avant 20 h le restaurant/ pub sur place était déjà fermé... Nous n'avons eu que peu de contact avec le personnel d'accueil , sauf pour notre règlement. Plus personne n'est sur place en soirée... bon petit déjeuner cependant !
