Dean Park Hotel

The hotel is excellent and modern. The staff were all welcoming and the food and service was fantastic.

Location in Kirkcaldy is very convenient for visiting Edinburgh, Stirling, and further around the coast to St Andrews. Hotel is newly decorated and well presented, rooms also. Restaurant and bar are pleasant spaces, breakfast had a decent selection and quality of both breakfast and dinner was good.

Service in restaurant was a bit slow. A 3 course meal took 2.5hrs. Wasn't in a rush and the food was worth waiting for, but something to bear in mind. Noise in the bedrooms spoiled the entire stay. Whether it was heating, air con or plumbing I'm not sure, but room had a constant background drone. Every few minutes there'd then be another rumbling noise that lasted approximately 30 seconds. This went on throughout the night. The undercurrent to all this was a faint hint of bass from the music on downstairs which lasted till around 1am. The mattress felt lumpy and uneven. Not the place to go if you want an early night and to feel well rested. My family member's room across the hall had similar noise levels as he was looking out onto the roof with the aircon unit and the chimney from the heating system. Maybe we could have asked for different rooms and had a different experience. I was not asked at checkout about how my stay was, hence my feedback being given here. But as I suspect the noise might only affect a few rooms and would take extensive renovations to fix, they are probably content to have 80% of their guests satisfied. The hotel has recently received two 4 star ratings from the AA. Personally, I would rate it as a 3 star.

All The staff were very polite and friendly very welcoming. The rooms were fantastic and the meal were very good.

Surprised not to have bottled water in the room. Breakfast was very dissapointing Mass produced cheap bread Poor fresh fruit selection Tea and coffee all pre made and presented very poorly in pump vacuum flasks, which was weak and luke warm, thankfully when requested the waitress kindly made us a pot of fresh hot Tea. Hot food selection not replenished frequently, so quality was poor. Very dissapointing in a hotel of this standard

Beautiful decor throughout hotel.

Room far too hot overnight. Fan in room helped slightly but had to have it on all night. Unfortunately several pubic hairs in bathroom shower and floor (easily seen on beautiful white tiled flooring). Buffet style breakfast was disappointing and no proper tea/coffee machine except big containers on a table. My opinion is the breakfast facilities, selection and quality are a bit of a let down.

Breakfast was good, coffee ok however coffee Thermos was leaking and staff were not concerned.

No water pressure in showers in my room and sisters room, their response was oh its happened again?? Key and safe to my sisters room did not work... no real concern about showering with almost no water. Attempting to check out at 10 there were 9 couples trying to check out with only 1 staff member on reception. Because she was the only one to answer phones and attend counter ..she was grumpy and rude because she was overwhelmed. Was not interested in our issues when tried I tried to explain further. Entrance is not set up for elderly or people with disabilities..no ramps or signage to ramps! Nice looking motel but very poorly managed !

The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room was very nice and comfortable. We arrived quite late and the staff was very helpful getting us settled in. The breakfast was very good.

Struttura molto bella, immersa nel verde, a circa 30 minuti di Edimburgo e molto ben collegata. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, stanze molto belle, spaziose e pulite. Ottimo il servizio bar e ristorazione, si mangia bene a costi accessibili.

Direi che tutto è funzionale alla struttura, non ci sono criticità particolari da segnalare.

We were greeted at reception and given information regarding the restaurant and bar. Rooms were very nice with modern decor throughout. The bathroom area was like new and had a large modern shower with a rainfall type fitting. We had a meal at the restaurant which was average. The staff were friendly throughout.

The Sunday roast was a bit fatty and only moderately warm.

High quality hotel with excellent staff and facilities

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. The towels and bedding were all immaculate and smelt fantastic.

About 40min on a train from Edinburgh, the hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location. We loved our stay here. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff were always available to help us with anything we needed. Our taxi rides to the station with Helen were fun too! And the retail park is just a few minutes walk away. Would stay here again for sure.

Bed was very comfortable but pillows were not which was a pity as pillows are so important for a good sleep. Two pillows per person in double room but using one was too flat and two together was too high. One decent supportive pillow would be great with one flatter one for those who prefer lower.

Room and breakfast were excellent value. Location is handy for Fife and Edinburgh. Staff were great and the restaurant was very good.

Incompetent staff ,we were given another guests room key on the far end of the property, we booked here because of A/C and elevator and neither were avaliable, I also ordered a deluxe room didn't get that either ,the reasons are for illnesses. I've been here before and was looking forward to this hotel, it's hard to find and I know the deluxe version. I won't be back

When i arrived on a motorbike, i looked at the Hotel and thought, that it was perhaps too nice for me. But when i entered, the young lady on reception, could not have been nicer. I felt very welcome. Going down later for a meal, again the staff were very friendly and efficient. After my meal, i went into the bar for a few drinks, again very friendly and great service. I cannot rate this hotel and especially the staff highly enough. I had an excellent stay.

In all honesty, i could not find any faults or complaints.

Lovely hotel, excellent food and very friendly staff

Hotel was far too hot, struggled to sleep even with fan on. Very noisy at times too during the night.

The staff were extremely friendly and professional. We would especially like to mention the restaurant team. The blue-eyed young lady was a true professional and was incredibly kind and gentle with our children at the table. We would also like to send special greetings to the ginger gentleman from Zimbabwe - a true professional and, above all, a genuinely good person. The value for money was excellent. The prices were very reasonable, which was definitely a bonus point won for the hotel, and the food was absolutely delicious - excellent quality. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the overall cleanliness was impressive. All of this makes us want to come back again. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend it!

Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice room. Lots of little touches like tissues in the room. There are usb sockets bedside the bed and on the desk. Also had a floor standing fan already in the room to use. Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and shortbread provided. There was an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer in the wardrobe. Bedside lamp and telephone. I didn't have breakfast or eat in the restaurant but it looked and smelt lovely. They phoned for a taxi for me in the morning which was most appreciated.

There was only one pillow on the bed. I expected to find another (spare) in the wardrobe but sadly not. I didn't realise until I was going to bed or I would of gone and asked for another. Would be better if 2 were given so people have a choice. This is my only criticism. I would stay here again but would check the number of pillows long before going to bed haha.

I loved this place unfortunately it was just one night . Perfect location for my needs. Clean comfortable and the staff where knowledgeable and very helpful. Comfortable bed tidy room and a beautiful breakfast in the morning. I would recommend 👌

Lo scarico del bagno era difettoso e non si riusciva a fermare completamente l'acqua . Colazione un pò scarsa e basica: il caffè era erogato in thermos tipo da campeggio, in un Hotel di questo livello è davvero una brutta caduta di stile. Una volta esaurito l'assortimento delle brioches non sono state ripristinate se non solo i croissant vuoti. Consiglio: andate presto a fare colazione altrimenti rischiate di non trovarle più.

Soulless, no character, felt like sleeping in a DIY superstore bedroom display, room was an oven (and it wasn't in the middle of a heatwave), breakfast was average for the money. Lighting in the room was either off or floodlit

No hot water in room 44, ended up with a cold shower because we were that knackered we couldn’t be arsed faffing trying to get help. There was also some marks on the towels and what looked to be a burn in the carpet.

It was all round a top quality hotel and had a touch of luxury. They were also incredibly helpful when I rang to see if they had a spare toothpaste and toothbrush as i'd forgotton to bring mine, which they had and were kind enough to deliver to my room.

Fiz uma reserva para 2 adultos e 2 crianças e, quando cheguei ao hotel, cobraram-me um valor adicional pelas camas para as crianças. Fiquei bastante surpreendido, porque quando fiz a reserva indiquei desde o início que éramos 4 pessoas. Por isso, na minha opinião, o preço apresentado no momento da reserva deveria já incluir as camas necessárias para as quatro pessoas. Falei com a receção e explicaram-me que, nos termos e condições, estava indicado que havia um custo adicional por cama. No entanto, não me parece correto neste caso, uma vez que a reserva foi feita para quatro pessoas e não para dois adultos, com a indicação posterior de que seriam necessárias duas camas adicionais

Cheap, easy to get from the main road

Attitude on the checkin (for clarity it was almost midnight), yet very unwelcoming. Bad smell in the corridors and in the reception. Dirty floors and bits of black mould between the tiles in the shower. Generally not cleaned properly.

They were very accommodating with our very late check-in and the staff was friendly both on the phone and when we arrived during the night. The rooms and the hotel were clean and spacious. The style of the hotel is consistent and their parking area is very spacious.

The breakfast selection was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. It got the job done and I got to taste both blood pudding and haggis for breakfast.

The room was lovely, very clean, and comfortable. The location was also very convenient, only around 45 minutes from Edinburgh, which made it a great place to stay while exploring the area.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about my stay. Everything was very good, from the clean and comfortable room to the friendly staff and convenient location. I would happily stay here again

Overall it’s a nice property with very nice staff. Location for us is excellent we stay there 2to 3 times a year.

A number of little things went wrong and seemed to take too long to rectify. The buffet breakfast this time was very poorly stocked with very limited refills of food options. Having to take your cup to a central ‘urn’ for coffee/tea with multiple customers carrying the hit liquid back to their table is an accident waiting to happen. Poor decision to implement this minor change.

Unglaublich warm; den ganzen Tag steht die Sonne auf dem Zimmer; das winzige offene Fenster brachte keinerlei Abkühlung, schlafen dadurch fast unmöglich Das Zimmer braucht dringend eine Klimaanlage. Bitte veganes Essensangebot erweitern, denn das Hotel liegt am völlig anderen Ende der Stadt, wo kleine Restaurants sind außer McD im Industriegebiet.

Really modern, clean and well presented. Bar area and outdoor bbq area are really nice and a great atmosphere to enjoy. Staff make this hotel what it is and I couldn’t have asked for better service from any of them! Wish I’d caught names as they were brilliant and deserve a mention as they are the reason it’s 5 star! Reception team on the day of our arrival, bbq team in the evening and the breakfast manager the next morning were absolutely fantastic people and couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful!

Unfortunately, there were no toiletries in the bathroom when we arrived and I had to ask twice for them. No air con. Fire alarm went off. And the hotel tried to charge me an extra £25 for an extra bed despite my booking with booking.com clearly for 3 people with a final price for us all. Booking.con helped sort it out but I could have done without the hassle.

Not all the rooms have A/C. Not a huge problem, it jus thallens to be a heatwave at the moment. There were two good fans in the room, which helped.

Tout était sur de très hauts standards pour le prix demandé, surtout à proximité d'Édimbourg. Hôtel haut de gamme, accueil et professionnalisme général irréprochable, grande chambre bien équipée avec très grand lit ultra-confortable. Petit déjeuner de bonne qualité, propreté générale de l'établissement impeccable.

La chambre était réservée sur Booking pour deux adultes + 2 enfants, pour le prix indiqué. Arrivé sur place, la chambre disposait bien d'un grand lit adulte + deux lits enfants, mais au moment du check-out, on me fait remarquer que les lits enfants étaient des suppléments à 25 pounds chacun, n'étant pas inclus dans le prix standard de la chambre, ce qui était effectivement écrit, il faut bien tout lire! A partir du moment où ces suppléments sont obligatoires pour dormir à 4, je ne comprends pas bien pourquoi ils ne sont pas inclus dans le prix de base... Dommage sinon, c'était une note de 10 que j'aurais mise, mais je ne peux pas être sévère car même avec ces suppléments, la prestation complète (nuit à 4 avec petits déjeuners inclus) rend ce prix plus qu'honnête malgré tout. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir!

The grounds were beautiful and so was the room, it was a lovely size. We liked the fact there was a fridge and tea/coffee station (but sadly no teaspoons) Overall we had a great stay.

1. We was charged an extra £50 on arrival which we was unaware of. When we booked with booking.com we was given a price for 2 adults and 2 children which was £89 but when we arrive we was told we had to pay an extra £50 for two beds? I'm still not sure now as to why but we were tired after a long day and just needed to rest so we paid it. 2. No tea spoons to use the tea/coffee station 3. Clump of black hair in the bathroom 4. The room hadn't been hoovered, there was food (chips) and crumbs under the desk and under the fridge door. 5. Pillows where a little too flat for our liking but that's just our preference.

Only had breakfast twice butt most enjoyable Room and bed where very comfortable Staff were excellent and very helpful. Didn't use hotel for evening meal so can't comment

Thin wall to next room, so noise transmits easily. Could hear neighbour speaking on phone! Hotel and room facilities well kept and clean - though slight mould/dirt under shower doors: which needs cleaning.

The staf! They welcomed you with a smile! They make you really feel welcome. The best hotel we had in Scotland during all our travels!
