I don't usually review places but family home deserve a review, the staff is so cheerful, such a delight to be welcomed in this place, There was a blackout in the are due a stormy night, so next day they gave a refund because i booked a room with ac but I didn't use due to the blackout and it was a hot night! That's why I'm writing this review, because this place deserves to be appreciated and known, Not to mention the breakfast in the rooftop was delicious , calm, nice view . thank you to the manager and all the staff,

屋上での朝食は気分良かった。若い男女スタッフが好印象。 USD10で空港へ迎えに来てくれた。但しお願いした時間に待ち合わせ場所におらず、居合わせた方に電話してもらって合流となった。

室内は広いが、白く塗ったコンクリート壁の質実剛健な内装。数泊してゆっくりホテル滞在するには物足りない感じ。エレベーターがなく、6階の居室に階段を上り下りするのは億劫。

Nice facilities and nice price for what you get. Has AC, wifi mostly pretty good, always hot water, room fairly clean and nice. Best part is that it is quiet! I think the buildings block traffic noise as it is nestled between other buildings. Staff very accommodating.

No elevator….but staff will help you with luggage so that isn’t so bad

Very friendly staff and owner, always ready to help. Hotel rooms are spacious and is in heart of Thamel with excellent prices.

Hotel is a little bit old, needs renovation and items like TV etc. The hotel is in a very small lane where vehicle cannot go so for people with heavy luggage might have issues. There is no lift so you need to carry all your luggage. Breakfast can have more variety each day.

It was awesome stay at Hotel Family home. Everything was at the par ,location, room cleanliness, staff behaviour,all were perfect. Manager Mr. Dhanak Kumar was always ready to help us out. He arranged our sight seeing and it was also perfect.I did not have to go outside for money exchange. He helped in every way ..I suggest everyone if you would like to visit Kathmandu,consider this hotel as of your choice then you will really realize the comfort and convenience I enjoyed there .All the very best to Hotel Family Home and expects they will maintain the same standard in future too.

Ho soggiornato all’Hotel Family Home durante il mio viaggio in Nepal e mi sono trovato molto bene. La posizione è ottima, nel cuore di Thamel, il quartiere centrale di Kathmandu, e comoda per visitare la città. Lo staff è stato estremamente gentile e disponibile, in particolare il titolare della struttura. Avevo bisogno di prenotare un autobus per Pokhara e si è occupato personalmente di tutto. Inoltre, la mattina della partenza, visto che ero in ritardo, mi ha accompagnato di corsa in moto fino al bus per assicurarsi che non lo perdessi. Un gesto che ho apprezzato davvero molto e che dimostra la grande attenzione verso gli ospiti. Anche la colazione, per gli standard nepalesi, è stata molto buona. La camera era semplice ed essenziale, senza particolari lussi, ma pulita e dotata di tutto ciò di cui avevo bisogno. Considerando il prezzo pagato, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è assolutamente soddisfacente.

Se devo trovare un piccolo difetto, la mia camera si trovava al quinto piano e l’hotel non dispone di ascensore, quindi bisognava fare parecchie scale ogni volta. A parte questo, esperienza molto positiva e struttura che consiglio senza esitazione.

Location was central but in an inner quite road. The room was very spacious, as double as of normal hotel room. The breakfast was simple but enough. Most importantly, as the name implies, they welcomed us as their family member. very helpful. staff, tow sisters, Sushmita and Rekha were always smiling and taking care of us. If I come back Nepal. I would definitely stay in the hotel.

Sin duda el mejor hotel en el q me he quedado en Kathmandu. Habitación grande con aire acondicionado y ventilador, baño privado y el desayuno está incluido. La ubicación es perfecta, todo q necesitas está cerquita y el personal es majísimo y siempre disponible. Es imposible que se pueda encontrar un alojamiento q sea mejor por este precio. Gracias x una estancia super cómoda, volveré qualquier día!

As the name suggests, this place truly feels like a home away from home. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and most of all, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout my stay. Highly recommend!

Central location but hidden in a side street so it was quieter than it should have been. The neighbouring properties were a (private?) gated temple and another hotel with a garden. Sushmita at the front desk was delightful (I am LGBT) and Rekha (not sure if I'm spelling it correctly 😭) from the rooftop restaurant who made the most excellent Nepali coffee for breakfast was wonderful! The rooftop area was lovely by the way. I saw the owner twice passing through the reception area and he was cheerful and courteous. I only dealt with Sushmita and Rekha and they were rockstars.

I paid with cash just as a note to future guests.

Fantastic Stay in Kathmandu. Perfect location. I enjoyed it so much I stayed again when arrived back to Kathmandu. My room both times was very spacious, clean and comfy. The breakfast provided is delicious. Kumar the owner is so lovely and helpful. Highly recommend.

The staff were friendly and helpful with any request you need such as arranging transport to the airport. Rooms were clean and spacious, location was right in the middle of thamel and convenient. It was quiet at night even if it was in thamel as the hotel in located in an alley. Lots of food and dining options around.

Awesome place to stay with super helpful and lovely staff! We left our luggage here for 3 weeks while we trekked which was so helpful.

I had a fantastic stay in Hotel Family Home. My room was very big and comfortable. WiFi worked great. Breakfast was delicious. The terrace has a lovely view and the location was super for exploring Kathmandu. The best part of my stay was the hotel owner, Kumar. He was so very kind and helped plan a trip to Chitwan National park for me. I hope to stay here again if/when I'm back in Kathmandu. I highly recommend.

I felt truly comfortable at this hotel in Kathmandu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. My room was clean and I especially loved the beautiful terrace where you can enjoy breakfast. The location is quiet, yet close to many attractions. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel!

Had a great stay at hotel family home. In the heart of Thamel but tucked away in a quiet alley so it’s feels like a bit of a sanctuary. I ended up staying many nights and it was clean and the staff were very helpful and relaxed. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Thamel.
