Wunderschöner ruhiger Garten inkl. Pool. Lakmal und seine Familie sind ausserordentlich zuvorkommend und freundlich. Er hat sich um alles gekümmert und all unsere Wünsche erfüllt (Flughafentransfer, Sunrise, Safari, Transfer nach Nilaveli). Das Abendessen sowie das Frühstück, welches frisch zubereitet wird, war ausgezeichnet! Nochmals vielen Dank an die Familie von Lakmal!

De locatie, het zwembad en het super vriendelijk personeel dat ook goed Engels spreekt. We zouden er zo weer heen gaan!

Alleen de bedden zijn vrij hard, na een paar dagen ga je dat wel merken. Verder niks op aan te merken!

Everything was great! The accommodation is amazing and has a very private feel since there is only space for a couple of people. The host Lakmal was very friendly and helpful and organized our airport pickup, safari and other trips around the area. We were also driven to our next destination which was an added bonus. Great breakfast and on request dinner was also provided and gave us everything we hoped for. I'm sad we only stayed 2 nights in Sigiriya but I can strongly recommend this to everyone visiting.

The staff was very helpful and kind. The location was also perfect. The pool 10/10 if you want to chill after hiking the Lion’s Rock.

Las cabañas son como en las fotos. Muy cómodas y bonitas. Si quieres tranquilidad y relax este es tú sitio. También esta cerca de restaurantes. Nosotros probamos un día cenar en el propio hotel y fue un acierto. El Kottu casero que te preparan esta super bueno y el desayuno muy completo. Además gestionamos con ellos el safari y todo fue genial.

Lakmal und seine Familie waren sehr gastfreundlich. Das Essen seiner Mama wechselte täglich und war für uns der perfekte Einstieg in Sri Lanka. Schöner Sitzplatz vor der Hütte. Alles würde perfekt für uns geplant und organisiert.

Fliegennetz war schon älter und hat leider etwas gestunken. Daher haben wir es nicht geöffnet - waren keine Fliegen da.

Mooie ligging in de tuin, heerlijk zwembad. Je kunt daar eten, maar ook prima in de omgeving. Super behulpzame eigenaren, die een heerlijk ontbijt klaar maakten😋

Beetje achterstallig onderhoud, loszittende kraan, wc wiebelde, maar red je je prima mee. Was voor ons geen probleem.

Lakmal a été formidable, comme un père pour nous 3 qui voyagions entre filles. Nous nous sommes senties spéciales, il a été de très bon conseil et nous a aidé dans l’organisation de nos visites a Sigiriya et ses environs. L’hôtel est splendide les repas étaient délicieux les petits déjeuners copieux. La piscine super.

El recinto del hotel es increíble, la piscina genial y los dueños super amables. El tamaño de la habitación es normal y la ducha tenía mampara que en SriLanka es difícil de encontrar.

Owner was extremely helpful and helped book transports for us via WhatsApp when we were out. Rooms were basic but nice had everything you needed, good a/c. Nice grounds with nice pool. Nice breakfast Sri Lankan omelette was delicious

WiFi wasn’t great but didn’t bother us it was just patchy in our room but seemed to work outside

I had an amaaaazing stay at Lakmal’s property. Him and his family are very warm, kind and accommodating. The location is great - nature is abound. The room itself was comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners I had there were super yummy! Lakmal also provided really good advice with regard to my itinerary that I initially had planned and his advice helped shape my stay in Sigiriya to be absolutely wonderful. I would 1000% recommend.

Struttura a conduzione familiare immersa nel verde. Gestori davvero accoglienti e disponibili, ci hanno fatti sentire come a casa. Colazione molto gustosa. C'è anche la possibilità di cenare in struttura; noi lo abbiamo fatto per due sere di fila perché il cibo era squisito. La camera era pulita e accogliente. La piscina è molto pulita e permette di passare qualche ora di relax.

We had a perfect stay at Liyon Rest :) Lakmal (owner) and Sudam helped us with everything!!! Such kind and lovely persons. They picked us up at the airport, arranged a nice safari and drove us to sundown hikes. Sudam also brought us to Nanu Oya, which was so far. He is a safe driver. He had so much patience and waited till we had our Train Tickets and everything. Lakmal also helped us always and cleaning is also possible. The House Looks so nice with the palmtrees and the Garden! Big Thanks!

La piscine était vraiment agréable, les petits-déjeuners excellents et très copieux. Nous avons également dîné sur place le premier soir et le repas était délicieux. Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms set in a beautiful garden with a very nice pool, run by a lovely, friendly family. Excellent breakfast.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui 3 notti. Ci ha subito immerso in un bellissimo clima di accoglienza tipico dello Sri Lanka. il posto è immerso nel verde pulito e molto rilassante. La famiglia ci ha fatti sentire a casa accontentando ogni nostra richiesta, sempre a disposizione per qualsiasi cosa. posizione comoda per raggiungere tutte le attrazioni e ristoranti in Sigirya. abbiamo cenato anche da loro una sera con dell'ottimo cibo. La colazione era molto buona, tipica singalese. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Hele lieve familie die je met alles willen helpen. Erg fijn zwembad, mooie huisjes die goed schoon zijn. Fijne rustige locatie met leuke koffie/lunch plekjes op loopafstand. Met 5 min met de tuktuk in centrum. Ontbijt erg lekker, gevarieerd en vers gemaakt elke ochtend.

The place is very green and people are very welcoming nice stay at the pool and we very enjoyed our stay. Lunch and breakfast were superb.

Some sewage smells from the vanity and shower was not very powerful but we didn’t mind it to much.

Lakmal and his family provided truly an excellent stay at a beautiful location. Liyon Rest is a quiet oasis that is also conveniently located close to a range of restaurants etc. on the main road. Room was spacious and had everything we needed, plus cute little pool to cool down in. Excellent breakfasts that included fresh fruit, toast, omelette and local delicacies like coconut roti and hoppers. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Nos hemos alojado aquí tres días un grupo de 12 y hemos estado de maravilla. Lakmal y su familia hacen lo posible para que tu estancia sea estupenda. La cocina casera la mejor que hemos comido en Sri Lanka, además se esforzó para que fuera variada y completa. Las habitaciones muy bien cuidadas con aire acondicionado y ventiladores. La piscina fantástica. La ubicación muy buena para hacer muchas actividades cercanas, la famosa Roca del León, subir al Pidurangala Rock para tener las mejores vistas, visitar los templos de las cuevas de Dambulla , un paseo en tuk tuk o hacer un safari de elefantes en Minneriya. Lo recomiendo sin ninguna pega!

Todo estaba perfecto

Je komt aan en het eerste wat je denkt, "shit had ik maar langer geboekt". Heerlijke accommodatie op een prachtige locatie. In de tuin lopen, kleine varanen, de kameleons, de eenkhoorns en je ziet de neushoornvogels en adelaars vliegen. Het ontbijt is uitstekend. Wij hebben niet op het resort gegeten, maar dat moet heel goed zijn. Met de tuktuk is het 5 minuten naar het dorpje en het zeer mooie uitzicht op de lionrock. Kortom een super verblijf. Plus, wanneer u uitcheckt, dan ontvangt u een aandenken.

Posto magnifico riparato dal caos turistico di Sigyria, siamo stati molto bene. Piscina, prato, verde, sdraio per godersi qualche minuto di relax. Camere ampie. Grazie a Lakman il proprietario che ci ha aiutato molto nell’ organizzazione e si è reso spesso disponibile fino a venirci a riprendere direttamente con il suo tuk tuk

Gastvrijheid was echt fenomenaal. Wat een ontzettend lieve en behulpzame mensen. Heerlijke plek, fijne huisjes en mooie tuin en zwembad. Ontbijt en diner zijn aanrader. Onze zoon werd zoek en direct werd een tuktuk geregeld naar het ziekenhuis. Ook tussendoor stonden ze binnen 5 minuten klaar met taxi of tuktuk. Heel erg fijn verblijf!

Il manque un peu de rangement dans la chambre. Et le wifi qui fonctionnait de manière très aléatoire. Ainsi que le réseau internet.

The setting is absolutely beautiful - standalone houses in a stunning tropical garden with a lovely pool too. Very comfortable rooms and pleasant semi outdoor (covered) dining area. Lakmal is a fantastic host - arranged a driver for a half day trip to Pollonaruwa, a return tuktuk to Sigiriya rock, massages with transfers to a local spa, laundry service, and also drove us on to our next destination. He made an excellent restaurant recommendation and there are a number of places to eat nearby - even though the location is a little outside Sigiriya there is plenty available. We also had a dinner and all of our breakfasts at Liyon Rest, and they were delicious. Fantastic stay, would definitely come here again!

Het persooneel en de eigenaar is erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. De huisjes zijn comfortabel en schoon. En het zwembad is super fijn! Het ontbijt was geweldig!

Très bon accueil par la famille qui gère cet établissement familial. Le patron et sa femme sont aux petits soins. Le cadre est très joli, des bungalows dispersés dans un beau jardin vert et arboré. La piscine est un vrai plus pour se rafraîchir. Un peu excentré de Sirigiya mais ce n' est pas vraiment un problème car il faut se rendre aux spots touristiques autour en voiture ou tuktuk de toutes les façons.

Wij als gezin hebben genoten van ons verblijf. De eigenaar met zijn gezin zijn ongelooflijk vriendelijk en staan continue klaar voor je als je iets wilt regelen. Het ontbijt is heerlijk en staat klaar wanneer je aankomt lopen. Het zwembad was super fijn en accommodatie is goed. Locatie is net iets van de weg af. Heerlijk rustig. Binnen 5 min met de tuktuk in Sigiriya. Dat is allemaal prima te doen.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié l'accueil de Lakmal. Très amical sans être opressant, très aidant pour organiser nos sorties. Nous avons séjourné dans deux différentes chambres, celle bungalow simple était correcte avec un lit un peu petit/rigide, celle en bungalow surélevé deluxe était vraiment super. Le petit dejeuner etait excellent, avec des Roti coc délicieux, du beurre de la confiture des fruits du pain etc. Nous avons adoré notre séjour ici nous recommandons.

Lit du bungalow simple un peu petit et qui bouge, mais bon nous recommandons quand même fortement car le cadre les lieux communs et l'accueil étaient supers.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Woody Cabana and felt it offered excellent value for money, especially considering accommodation prices in Trincomalee. The owner was extremely responsive to messages before and during our stay. We appreciated being able to pre-order dinner for our first evening after a long journey, and although we organised our own activities, there was a good range of tours available through the property. The cabins and surrounding gardens were clean, well maintained, and had a lovely tropical atmosphere. The individual cabins also provided a good sense of privacy while still feeling part of the property. A special mention goes to the concierge, who seemed to be available at all hours and was always eager to help with anything we needed. He even made a trip to the pharmacy for us, which was greatly appreciated. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning kept the room cool and comfortable throughout the night. The only real downside was the number of insects and small reptiles that found their way into the cabin. We were actually pleased that mosquitoes weren’t an issue, but we did regularly have geckos, frogs and a couple of beetles inside the room. They weren’t dangerous, but they did make it harder to completely relax, particularly at night. We noticed there was quite a large gap at the bottom of the cabin door, which seemed big enough for animals to enter, and it also looked possible for them to come through the bathroom extractor fan. Fitting a better door seal and some mesh over the extractor fan would likely solve much of the problem. Whenever we found an unwanted visitor, the concierge was happy to come and remove it straight away, which we really appreciated. However, with a few simple improvements to prevent animals entering in the first place, we think the overall guest experience would be even better.

Nothing that detracted from the stay, but the shower holder was slightly broken and we had a beetle which might have come through the extractor fan’s netting - which seems it may need repair.

Die Anlage ist kein Hotelkomplex sondern es handelt sich hier um eine familiengeführte Gelände mit kleinen Häuschen bzw. ein größeres Haus in dem unten der Frühstücks- und Essensbereich untergebracht ist. Die Zimmer und die Bäder sind einfach super. Der Garten ist so schön bepflanzt, einfach toll anzuschauen. Der Pool ist sauber und sehr erfrischend nach einem ereignisreichen Tag. Der Inhaber ist superfreundlich und das Frühstück mit frischem Obst und Essen sehr lecker. Wir haben auch abends dort gegessen. Das Essen hat seine Mutter für uns gekocht und es war sehr sehr lecker. Wir haben sogar am Geburtstag seiner Tochter einen Teller von ihrem Kuchen abbekommen. Sehr lieb. Wir würden auf jeden fall hier wieder übernachten.

Da wir mit einem kleinen Bus unterwegs waren kann ich nicht sagen wie zentral es liegt. Es war auf jeden Fall kein Problem ein Tuk Tuk zu bekommen entweder zum selbst fahren oder als Taxi. Da hat sich der Inhaber auf Anfrage darum gekümmert.

El trato del personal es inmejorable. Cenamos una noche en el hotel y la comida estaba muy rica, nos pusieron un kottu exageradamente grande y sabroso. La piscina está muy limpia al igual que todo el complejo. El desayuno variado y abundante. Muy cerca de ambas rocas. Cuenta con mosquitera algo que se agradece al estar en medio de la vegetación.

Por ponerle un pero el wifi iba algo lento y no tenía nevera en la habitación.

De gastheer weigerde ons het geboekte huisje te geven en gaf ons accommodatie boven naast bouwplaats. Hij was onbeleefd en erg onbeschoft tegen ons en bij uitchecken weigerde hij creditkaart betaling. Dus we werden gedwongen cash te betalen. Had ook nog expres mijn boeking van deze site verwijderd zodat ik geen review kon schrijven. De douche op de kamer werkte ook nauwelijks. Gelukkig maar 1 nacht geboekt.

Le personnel est bienveillant et disponible. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié. Les espaces extérieurs sont apaisants, calme et paisible. La piscine est agréable.

Pas énormément d'offres des restauration en dehors de l'hôtel et pas particulièrement rassurée de sortir diner en tant que femme solo car peu d'éclairage (les hommes au Sri Lanka sont plutôt bienveillants). ATTENTION, malgré ce qui est indiqué, ils ne veulent pas de paiement par carte bancaire.

Lakmal war ein sehr offener, zuvorkommender und freundlicher Gastgeber. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im schönen Garten und kalten Pool. Es war richtig toll!

Der Betreiber ist sehr zuvorkommend und unterstützend bei der Planung nächster Reiseetappen. Das traditionelle Frühstück war reichhaltig, der Pool einladend besonders nach Wanderungen auf den Lion Rock. Die Nähe zu vielen Attraktionen. Buchungsmöglichkeit von Taxi und Safari vor Ort im Hotel.

Super cute villa with beautiful pool, staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful in organising and recommending activities/trips. It was a little further out of Sigiriya however we enjoyed the quieter vibe.

Nous avons tout aimé, de l’emplacement à la propreté des lieux, le cadre idyllique, la piscine, les dîners et le petit déjeuner préparés par la maman de notre hôte Lakmal. Nous recommandons vivement de rester au Liyon Rest. L’autre s’est occupé de tout, de nous commander des tuktuks quand besoin, de nous réserver des activités… C’était un vrai bonheur de séjourner ici !

Lakmal has created a beautiful set up here with this collection of lovely cabins amidst lush well kept gardens just off the road in Sigiriya. We spent a serene 3 nights here as we visited all the local sights…the pool was such a treat to come back to amidst a busy sight seeing and rock climbing couple of days. We enjoyed the fresh Sri Lankan breakfasts each morning as well as dinner on one of the evenings. Such great value for money and Lakmal, his family and the team are always at hand to help and support. A real find 😊🙏

Muy atentos con desayuno delicioso y muy completo. La última noche cenamos allí mismo y pudimos probar comida local de muy buena calidad. La piscina tiene vistas a la naturaleza y es prácticamente nueva. Pudimos ver hasta un tucan estando en la piscina. La verdad que es un sitio muy recomendable.

Esta alejado del centro de la ciudad pero tiene algún restaurante y cafetería cerca por lo que no hay ningún problema. Además siempre hay tuktuks disponibles para moverte por la zona.

Lakmal and his family as well as his staff were an absolute delight. Lakmal will arrange everything. He has a car as well as a Tuk Tuk. He took us to Lions Rock for sunrise and arranged an Elephant safari. We ate fantastic curries in the evening. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The grounds are so beautiful and tranquil including a gorgeous swimming pool. Amazing value as well Highly recommended

Die Anlage und der Pool sind sehr gepflegt und man merkt, dass sich täglich gekümmert wird. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett, gaben uns auf Anfrage immer Tipps bezüglich der Umgebung und wir durften auch einen Abend ein typisches Essen aus Sri Lanka genießen, das sehr sehr lecker war! Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, man lebt in kleinen Hüttchen.

Das WLAN hat oftmals nicht richtig funktioniert, was natürlich auch mal nicht schlecht, aber für‘s Recherchieren und Tuk-Tuk-Routen herraussuchen oft kontraproduktiv war.

We had a wonderful stay at Liyon Rest. We were welcomed with remarkable kindness and a great sense of service, and our accommodation for three was ideal. The Sri Lankan breakfasts were varied and delicious, and we were able to enjoy the swimming pool after our sightseeing trips. This accommodation is just a short drive from the main attractions, and the nearby shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

La salle de bains est très basique et mériterait un petit coup de neuf, et nous entendions des bruits d'animaux sur le toit, mais à part ça c'était parfait !

Nice garden setting with a lovely pool. About 2 kilometers from Sigariya town but buses come every 15 minutes if you don’t want to walk. Nice lake behind the property- ask Lakmal about a walk by the lake.

We had a lovely stay at Liyon Rest, particularly due to Lakmal. He helped us arrange everything (airport pick up, safari, a lovely Ayurvedic spa experience & countless tuktuk rides) and was always very quick to respond and happy to help. Highly recommend!

Sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage. Gut um alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erreichen. Lakmal, der Besitzer, hat alles perfekt für uns arrangiert inclusive eines hervorragenden Fahrers, Sudamma, der uns sicher vom Flughafen abgeholt hat und uns zu weiteren Stationen im Land gefahren hat. Sehr empfehlenswert, wir würden wiederkommen.

Super schöne, gut gepflegte, grüne, kleine, familiengeführte Anlage. Zurückliegend zur Straße, ruhig. Der Bungalow absolut sauber, das Frühstück landestypisch richtig gut. Der Besitzer und seine Familie super freundlich, mit vielen Ideen und klasse Vermittlung einer tollen Safari Tour, nach Danbulla und Lion Rock hat er uns selbst zu einem absolut fairen Preis gefahren . Wir sind über Zürich und Male geflogen, kann ich jedem nur empfehlen, denn aufgrund des Krieges ist es hier leer, aber absolut toll und sicher. Wir würden hier immer wieder übernachten .

Alles perfekt

Service und Hilfsbereitschaft der Familie war hervorragend. Wir hatten einen gesundheitlichen Vorfall und der Hotelbesitzer war sofort da um uns zum Arzt zu fahren. Loundry service wurde auf Anfrage sofort erledigt. Hotelchef hat die Wäsche hingebracht und am gleichen Mittag abgeholt. Pool war toll und die Anlage schön. Frühstück und Abendessen war selbst gekocht und sehr lecker. Wir waren verliebt in Kokonut-bread. Sehr netter Familienbetrieb und empfehlenswert. Es können auch Ausflüge organisiert werden zu super Preise.
