All bookings will include a temporary membership fee per person per night. (Full, existing members of Hosteling Scotland and HI using these channels are not entitled to a membership refund). Individual reservations (Up to 9 people) - can cancel free of charge until 3 days before the arrival date.
If canceled within the 3 days before the arrival 100 percent of the total price will be charged.
Groups reservations (more than 9 people) - different policies and additional supplements will apply.

No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel. Should guests be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by Hosteling Scotland National Office, Stirling. It may take 7 to 10 working days from the date of cancelation request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used.
Parties with children under 12 years will only be accommodated in private rooms, where available. Hosteling Scotland advises that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when traveling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodations is available. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots.
Check-in from 16.00 until 22.00 and check-out is until 10.00.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Reviewed Sep 19, 2026La posizione è sicuramente uno dei punti di forza della struttura, molto comoda per visitare Portree. Anche la ragazza alla reception è stata davvero gentile, disponibile e accogliente. Purtroppo, però, la camera ci ha lasciato un po’ delusi. In bagno abbiamo notato problemi di umidità e la finestra era rotta, tanto che non rimaneva correttamente chiusa. Anche le lenzuola non davano una sensazione di pulito: non avevano un buon profumo e, personalmente, ci sono sembrate poco pulite. Altro aspetto poco positivo è il parcheggio a pagamento, che considerando il soggiorno avremmo preferito fosse incluso. Nel complesso posizione e personale molto buoni, ma la camera avrebbe bisogno di maggiore manutenzione e soprattutto di più attenzione alla pulizia.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Vi visste inte att vi hade bokat ett eget rum så vi hade 4 enkelsängar men var 2 i sällskapet. Vi var beredda på att dela rum och toalett med främlingar men det blev ett glatt överraskning då vi hade rest hela dagen från loch lomond i bil och var jätte trötta. Så den här recensionen kanske inte har lika stor betydelse än en som har delat rum med andra. Men det var rent, fin utsikt, fint kök och alldagrum. Parkeringen utanför var gratis från 7-7 vilket var väldigt smidigt.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026It was just a 4min walk from the center, so well positioned and also by the river. The room was pretty clean and it was en-suite so good enough for a 6 bunk bed and could be used easily. Even the bathroom was quite clean and well maintained. They had ensured to keep extensions for each bunk bed to help so that was a huge plus. The kitchen and living room were clean as well. Perfect for one night stay for me.
Nothing much honestly. If I had to mention, there was bins placed right by the windows next to living room, if that is moved to different place, it would help visitors get a god view of the river while enjoying their meal without any issues.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026L'auberge est très bien située proche du centre et des bus. La cuisine est immense et très bien équipée donc on ne se gêne pas. J'étais dans un dortoir non mixte avec une salle de bain et toilette dans la chambre. Il y avait une prise près de mon lit. Pas de serviette de toilette fournie. La salle est commune est grande avec une petite bibliothèque et des indications pour des randonnées. Il faut feuilleter. La vue depuis le salon est également joli. Nous sommes arrivés en avance et avons pu laisser nos sacs dans la salle commune la journée.
L'aspect un peu vieillot de la chambre. Le fait que pour accéder à mon dortoir il faille ressortir car il est situé derrière le bâtiment principal. Par ailleurs il ne faut pas avoir peur des escaliers car de l'auberge au centre ville, il y a des marches ! Pas de toilette "visiteurs" quand on arrive, en revanche dans le centre ville il y a des toilettes publiques qui sont propres.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Sicuramente la posizione è ottima per visitare Sky. Camera ampia, con bagno privato semplice ma essenziale. Per chi ha l'auto il parcheggio è proprio di fronte ma attenzione è a pagamento dalle 08.00 alle 20.00. Noi rientrando tardi dai nostri tour e ripartendo alla mattina facevamo molto bene. Supermercato molto vicino.Per chi desidera cucina condivisa molto pulita e in ordine.
Materassi e cuscini forse da ammodernare ma si tratta di gusti personali.

Entiendo que recojamos las toallas pero no que tengamos que quitar la ropa de toda la cama y que sea algo que tiene que hacer el cliente. Es un puesto de trabajo para una persona: camarer@ de piso. Si te lo hace el que se hospeda, primero se pierde un puesto de trabajo y segundo el factor servicio de la estancia desaparece

Vàrem reservar una habitació privada per a 4 persones amb bany. Tinguérem la mala sort de no tenir aigua calenta en la dutxa, no es poguerem dutxar. Sort que només hi passarem una nit.

Das einzige, was man bemängeln könnte, wäre der Weg von den Küchen- und Aufenthaltsräumen zu den Zimmern. Man kann viele Zimmer nur von draußen erreichen. Bei Regen ist es etwas unangenehm 😅

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer. Dort fehlten ein wenig Abstellmöglichkeiten, ein Regal oder Ähnliches.

Dispone de nevera en la cual etiquetas lo que compras y por la mañana desayunas tranquilamente en el salón común. Tiene parking justo delante gratuito desde las 20.00 hasta las 8.00. Restaurantes y supermercado cerca. Muy limpio. Baño recién reformado. Habitación cuádruple con baño individual.
Tiene bastantes escaleras para llegar a la habitación que nos tocó pero bueno, contábamos con ello

We stayed in an ensuite private room and were very satisfied with the rooms size and amenities (coffee tea, etc) . Breakfast options and bakery right next to hostel as well as pizza takeaways.
It was a little too hot in our room due to the strong afternoon Sun that streamed in. But i think we got lucky to get such fantastic weather days on the isle that its okay if the room warmed up. Thr weather was unusually hot on the weekend we were in skye. A small fan would have helped in the room.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Mega miła Pani w recepcji, czyste pokoje i pościel, a widok z okna o poranku to niebo! Bardzo duża, dobrze wyposażona kuchnia. Niczego więcej na nasz jednodniowy pobyt nie potrzebowaliśmy :) Duży parking naprzeciwko budynku, można bez problemu zostawić auto na noc.

Gentilissimi disponibili, a qualsiasi richiesta noi eravamo alla numero 3, le notti del 5 e 6 luglio abbiamo preso una stanza privata, pulita, ma un po' buia, anche se in realtà ci devi solo dormire. Letti comodi. Cucina attrezzata, non male la colazione, noi essendo italiani, non mangiamo salato, quindi ci è andata bene. La nostra prima volta in ostello, è stata un ' esperienza gradevole

The price is too high for a hostel, especially considering the poor level of security and the lack of staff assistance. The reception simply sends guests to the room and tells them they can choose any bed or space they want, even when three out of the four beds are already occupied. They don’t assign beds or inform new guests which ones are already taken. This creates confusion and result in people claiming the same bed, which is completely avoidable. It happened to us during our stay. A basic bed assignment system or clear communication from the staff would solve this problem

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026The location is great! The staff are nice too. In the room of 4 I stayed in we had a bathroom + shower ensuite for just the 4 of us which I really appreciated. Everything was clean and tidy. I would stay again in a room for 4 people or less.
The kitchen felt a little small for the number of people staying there, but perhaps I was just there at a busy time.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026We were easily able to find the hostel and checked in by a friendly, cheerful young lady. She helped us to put our bikes under cover. Our room was a family room upstairs and we had an amazing view, over Portree Bay. The en-suite room was comfortable and warm. Everything was clean and working, especially the kettle. A hot drink was required. After a good sleep, breakfast was a good selection of "continental" items.
It was all great.

Children running up and down floors at night time disturbed sleep. This went on for about 1 1/2 hours. The floors are laminate. Maybe children should be on the ground floor and not above? For everybody’s comfort?

La chambre était sale, toilettes non nettoyés ,sol également. La literie est en mauvais état,des creux dans les deux matelas.

Niestety sufit jest tak cienki, że słychać każdy krok lokatorów nad pokojem, nie wspominając o przesuwaniu mebli, czego niestety mieliśmy okazję doświadczyć . Nie da się spać. Poza tym twarde poduszki i materac.
