Would definitely recommend this property to those seeking a place to just relax and do nothing! Thats all we did! We stayed in the 2 bedroom beachfront villa with the pool and its all yours day and night. We went on a weekday, low season, but the bfast was still suprisingly good, instead of a buffet, you can order whatever bfast menus tht they have. Good experience overall but the room could use those full length mirror that other hotels tend to have cause its hard to get ready when theres people inside the bathroom. Other than tht, excellent!

Really nice and quiet resort for a short getaway, clean and friendly staff, definitely value for money! Facilities (e.g. swimming pool) might need a little clean up and maintenance though. Planned a mini birthday surprise for my friends with Siti (reservation assistant), and I’m grateful for her patience and arrangement despite it being puasa month.

Not as luxurious as what I thought

Lovely place and the staff could not have been more thoughtful but they had only 50% staff working due to vaccinations and losing staff to other work during lockdown. The service was not the best, menu limited and villa not cleaned as you would hope. Lovely stay and great place but not worth the price at the moment

The location and concept should provide for a really special experience, and in a way it does, but the little touches could and should make the big difference and, sadly, they were somewhat lacking. Service was ok, nothing bad but nothing great. The team were polite, pleasant and engaging but they did just what they needed to do and nothing more. There was special welcome, not tour of facilities, no recommendations or encouragement to dine in. It was very much 'here's you key (and you only get one key!), here's you villa, enjoy your stay'. Our Villa was a 2 bedroom. There was a slight smell of sewage in the ground floor room if you didn't keep the AC on. The condition was ok, but not pristine. The private pool was nice but debatable if the water was treated. Again, the detail missing. Not by any stretch a bad stay, but it could have been made much more if there was attention to detail and service, after all, it's not a cheap stay.

room ok, but disappointed with food for dinner and service deco pay 265 but the result not as apected and quite high. normally hotel /villa will give foc deco for bufday and aniversay but this one I need to pay but the result we get not nice. so disappointed. plus at nite pool close for water movement in our private pool. the room ok but at nite quite scary. service staff ok. suppose lobby in front but the mainbuilding at the back bf nice

Fantastic accommodation - beautifully presented and spacious. Staff who were working were fantastic, friendly and helpful, however it did feel slightly under staffed as breakfast could be quite slow, and they struggled to get back to us with requests.

Good privacy for the family with quick access to the beach

The service staff was amazing from security to housekeeping to reception and F&B! Peaceful place with very little guests running around. Fully equipped gym. Wifi was weak though. In the room or lobby or restaurant. May want to improve on that! But other than that, everything was fantastic. Will definitely be back!

Tolles Resort. Eigener Pool am Chalet. Sehr gutes Restaurant. Aktivität gerade geschlüpfte Schildkröten im Meer frei zu lassen. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Insgesamt eines der schönsten Hotels/ Resorts, die ich kennengelernt habe.

Very good for those that like less crowded environment. Not much to do night time.

Private pool at villa, and total privacy. there are ample space in front of my villa for leisure while overlooking sea; and back yard the open shower place with inside oval bath tub is brilliant!

Like- Unique design, luxury villa, friendly staff, breakfast was ok but have limited option. Dislike - under the sofa and bed has lot of dust, so as the wardrobe. The wardrobe sliding door was faulty, it keeps on slide off itself, it might be the alignment or track problem. Part of the pool was slippery. Overall me and my family love it and we might return, hopefully they can fix all this problem.

excellent modern tropical inspired villa fused within the natural forest setting.. Nice sea view and private plunge pool . Food at the Kenyang Restaurant is also good and friendly staff. Cute little resort for a quiet and peaceful setting.

Beautiful & well kept. I liked the architecture and that they kept nature & incorporated it into their design. One downfall is that it is quite expensive to have your own villa and even then you don’t really have direct access to the beach because of the rock fixtures.

Been here for the 2nd time. Got improvement. Same great view, nice hospitality.

We recently spent 3 nights in a Suite at the resort, it was really tranquil and relaxing. The resort is pristine in condition, beautifully landscaped preserving all natural surroundings and tastefully designed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, truly an amazing team especially El and Emma. They made the stay a truly memorable one. The room was beautiful, watching the sunrise from the bed each morning despite it being cloudy was breathtaking. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday.

Got a free upgrade to one bedroom villa with ocean view and it was amazing. Comfortable and clean room. There is a private pool. It will be better if the pool is cleaner and chlorination. Will definitely recommend this resort.

Beautiful villas and very exclusive resort. Location is not too bad, very close to kemaman where you can taste variety of local food. Friendly staffs with Malaysian hospitality!

nice comfortable 2 bedroom villa, terrific pool and great views only complaint is the ants big and small and the mosquitoes lurking around, so not that suitable for small children

Very nice location; feel so close to nature (land & beach), lovely room arrangement, welcoming and friendly staffs, definitely will come again! But the breakfast was so-so for me, average, less choices of food. I understand that not so many guests in one time hence maybe they limit the food choices. If they can improve by adding more food on the breakfast menu, I would say this hotel deserve 5 stars!

Everything superb! My kids love the poo very much. Very near to the beach and it is super clean. Very cozy and privacy hotel. Will come again.

This hidden gem was exactly as advertised! Service was excellent, the accommodation was clean and well-maintained. We got a free room upgrade to the sea view villa attached with a private pool as the initial rooms that we booked was affected by the recent monsoon. Lucky us! The place and amenities used were of high quality, deserving of their stars. However, it would be better if they can install blackout blinds for the whole unit as it gets bright at 6am. Also, the beds were a tad hard with some parts sinking in. Could be due to the high turnover of visitors hence, resulted in a less than ideal bed situation. Perhaps, they can invest in a better bed in the future. Wifi was very slow but well, you are in a retreat after all. Overall, a superb place to visit. Will definitely visit again.

there was heavy noise during the entire stay from the 5 heavy construction machine moving rocks around. noise was deafening, impossible to enjoy breakfast or dinner. a little warning when making the booking would be the least of curtesy. the villa we stayed in...what a wasted potential. there is no couch table/living area/kitchenette. this makes it very annoying to go back to the rooms every time. the furniture looks like it is 20 years old - sunbeds full of rust with metal hinges sticking out. shower drain was clogged and flooded the bathroom entirely. we had a baby and this was not the right place for him. on the positive side, the Cherating beach towards club med is very nice, although you have to jump through 100m of rocks to get there. the beds were very comfortable, the personnel was super nice and very accommodating with requests - 5 star to them, but the overall experience is far from the 5 stars this hotel claims they are. .

We are enjoy all moment in Villa, it is Wonderful, we can go out to the beach straight from the Villa.

The Kasturi is one of the best hotel i’ved stayed before. Anyone who loves to have ‘nothing to do” moment would love this place. The hotel does prepare complimentary activities such as jungle trekking, kayaking..etc. unfortunately for us, the recreational staff was on leave during our stay. We still enjoyed the stay anyway and opt for a night tour to look at fire flies. It was indeed exciting for us and one of the kind experience with a small price to pay. The only issue we had was with non stable water temperature for bath. Food was great though not much of choices. However, prices was quite reasonable compare le to some other resorts i’ve Experience in. Overall, great experience!

The private pool is in the best view. The Kasturi team is really friendly. The privacy of the resort is high, i would advise whoever want to come better book it early. The Villa and room is tidy. You can feel it is an excellent please to invest for your holiday.

A great place to get away from hectic routine. Have such a nice view and near to the beach.

Firstly we got free upgrade!! And the room is so spacious , the bathroom is everyone’s dream bathroom. I really love the privacy it provide. The scenery is super pluss. The provide you even the coffee machine, generous complimentary drinks and foods, as well as beach set. Not to forget their shower gels and soap all from tanamera ❤️

Designed by arguably Malaysia’s (Asia’s) premier Architect you would be forgiven for having great expectations of the resort and you won’t be disappointed there are an abundance of little details and quirks that make you smile! I should have started this article stating that it’s very unfair to review a Resort in a soft opening phase or even worse during the Easterly monsoon when many hotels shut up shop for annual maintenance acknowledging the beautiful sandy beaches that are such a magnet turn almost hostile with strong breakers that smash sandy water against anything in their path. Cutting to the chase this is a wonderful place, the hotel staff apart from the tireless Daniel and caring resort manager Stephanie and one or two others desperately need the rough edges knocked off them with some training, The F&B needs a complete makeover not just the menu but the pace of delivery, the cleaning staff need more scrutiny and the maintenance staff need to walk through everywhere checking every switch works every toilet flushes every tap and shower works. Close to becoming a world class resort it just needs to decide is going upmarket in which case the service level would need to ramp up dramatically or is it going local and then I fear it will suffer the fate of KLIA the best airport in Asia by a mile when it opened and now a third world hovel destroyed by lack of maintenance and ad hoc “improvements” totally out of keeping with the original. I hope not!
