Staff were amazingly helpful! We were so lucky to be upgraded to a balcony room and we were able to watch the Kandy Esala Perahera parade! It is not a full view but the fact we had the comfort of our room, with snacks, water and a bathroom - we were extremely grateful! Just down the street there were some elephants being adorned for the festival and it made for some wonderful photos.

Camera molto bella e ben curata, in una posizione centralissima nel cuore della città. Staff estremamente cordiale, gentile e attento. Colazione molto buona e soggiorno davvero piacevole.

Come piccolo punto da migliorare, sarebbe stato gradito avere l’acqua inclusa nella colazione. Inoltre, purtroppo non abbiamo potuto usufruire della piscina, che chiude alle 19:00, un orario un po’ presto soprattutto per chi trascorre la giornata in giro.

Nous avons s été gênés par une forte odeur de cigarette qui émanait de la ventilation de la salle de bain alors que nous avions demandé une chambre non fumeur.

Posizione top a un minuto a piedi dal lago. Personale molto gentile, soprattutto il signore dell’ascensore! C’era una piscina molto bella e la colazione è abbondante. La camera era molto spaziosa con balcone al 5 piano.

Lo scarico del wc non ha funzionato da quando siamo entrati in camera. Ho avvisato subito la ragazza che ci ha fatto il check in, ma al nostro ritorno in camera il problema non era stato risolto, e direi ignorato del tutto! Lo scarico del wc non ha funzionato per tutta la durata del soggiorno ( per fortuna solo una notte). Ci siamo dovuti arrangiare riempiendo la cassetta dell’acqua con il doccino, per far uscire acqua dallo scarico!

Nous avons aimé la décoration a l’ancienne de l’hôtel mais un coup de neuf est nécessaire, les murs sont vieillis ainsi que le sol et la salle de bain + petite odeur de renfermé dans la chambre

Un hôtel de très grande qualité, idéalement situé au cœur de Kandy, à proximité des temples, des boutiques et des marchés. Malgré cette situation très centrale, dès que l’on entre dans l’hôtel, on découvre un véritable oasis de calme et de sérénité. Après l’agitation, le bruit et la chaleur de la ville, c’était un vrai plaisir de pouvoir s’y réfugier, se détendre et profiter d’un cadre élégant et reposant. Un très bel équilibre entre le confort d’un hôtel haut de gamme et l’authenticité d’un séjour en plein cœur de Kandy. Une excellente adresse que nous recommandons.

Good central location in Kandy. Regal old style hotel with verandah overlooking the street life below. Easy to walk to temple, lake and markets. We traveled to Sigrigiya & Dambulla to explore these areas in day trips easily with a driver. Beautiful pool area for relaxing. Great staff and delicious breakfasts. We stayed for two days and recommend this as a comfortable stay after visiting rural towns.

Shower early in the morning not hot but very good of an evening.

Great location , right in the middle of Kandy. Two minute walk to ATM and supermarket. Very comfortable bed.

Nothing really - it is quite noisy (tooting horns etc) because of being inner city, but thats just life.

It’s fairly old property. Washrooms also seems old. If you give up on location, I would suggest better to have newer and better property a little bit away

En general, tuvimos una buena experiencia y recomendamos el hotel. El personal fue muy amable y atento en todo momento, y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. El hotel tiene mucho encanto, aunque algunas zonas se ven un poco anticuadas. Aun así, están realizando reformas, así que creemos que cuando terminen quedará mucho mejor. (No nos afectaron)

Como aspecto a mejorar... durante nuestra estancia tuvimos algunas hormigas en la habitación.

Perfectly situated in Downtown Candy, a bit of charming & historical colonial patina embracing. With a nice pool and a very unique elevator. Staff - especially Melanie - was a dream, super friendly and very helpful. We wished we had stayed longer than just one night.

Stilvolles Hotel mit dem Charme vergangener Zeiten. Eingerichtet mit Möbeln aus Vollholz, altes schönes Parkett, sehr sauber. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich, immer hilfsbereit.

La ubicación

Está en obras y todo estaba bastante sucio lleno de polvo. El desayuno lamentable. Las bebidas en el bar ridículamente pequeñas y caras. El ascensor extremadamente peligroso. Sin Puertas. Puedes perder un brazo perfectamente.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado y es muy cómodo. El desayuno es buffet y muy completo. El personal es muy amable.

Las habitaciones estaban muy bien, pero el hotel es bastante antiguo.

Sehr gute Lage, alle Highlights der Stadt (Markt, Tempel usw.) sind schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen, professionelles Personal, bequemes Bett, abwechslungsreiches und leckeres Frühstück.

The location was excellent.

I had asked for some assistance with getting i formation but never had a reply. The ift kept breaking which inconvient as you could not use the stairs as they had building working going on.

Just a one night stay to break up the travelling. Great location in the middle of town, loads of restaurants and the market within walking distance. Pool was nice to cool.down in after a day of traveling and breakfast was good too.

Das Badezimmer ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Alles funktioniert einwandfrei, es sieht einfach nur alt und abgewohnt aus.

Stayed here many times before, it was always a pleasure and a highlight of traveling in Sri.

The rooms were incredibly dirty. The ventilation system seemed to blow air into the room instead of extracting it. The bathroom was covered in thick layers of dust, not just a little bit, but actual dust clouds. This was not the result of skipping cleaning for a few days. It was clearly a longer-term problem. There was dust on the beds, dust in the bathroom and dust in places that should never be missed by housekeeping. It is impossible to believe that housekeeping made the beds but somehow did not notice the state of the room. Then, when the bathroom door was opened, a cockroach of around 5 cm came out. A member of staff killed it and quickly pushed it into the hallway. My daughter saw what happened and heard him stamping on it. The worst part was not only the dirt itself, but the way staff seemed to quickly try to hide the problem. That was the final straw. We were then shown another room, but when I entered, someone was already rushing to remove dust there as well. In other words, it looked like exactly the same issue again. For us, this was unacceptable. A room can have a small issue, but this was not a small issue. This was a serious lack of hygiene, maintenance and honesty.

The cleanliness, the smell, the stains, the noises. Construction work is going on in their restaurant due to which they had pre poned breakfast timing s from 6 to 8:30. As a result, we had to get up early unneccesarily.

Brilliant location, almost everything was walkable and you’re right in the centre of Kandy! Staff were brilliant, couldn’t do enough for you. Good water pressure in shower.

Beds were quite hard but that’s more of a personal preference. Lovely pool but almost always shaded! Rooms were quite old fashioned but they’re currently in the middle of renovations (the renovation noise didn’t affect us at all). A little noisy, our room was next to the lift so could hear when people were going in and out, also traffic/birds from the street but that can’t be helped.

Egy éjszakát töltöttünk itt el. Nagyon jó helyen van a szálloda Kandy felfedezéséhez. A személyzet nagyon kedves és segítőkész a reggeli bőséges volt. Habár főút mellett van, nem volt zajos éjszaka.

A hotel szerintem nem 4 csillagos, legalábbis európai trendek szerint. Kicsit lepukkant, de egy éjszakára tökéletes volt

We stayed for two nights, the Hotelroom was nice with a beautiful little balcony facing the city. The bathroom was very clean. The staff was very kind and friendly, also the breakfast was delicous. There is a nice little pool in a little garden when you walk through the hotel and the rooftop-bar is build with love, where you can sit in the evening and have a nice view of the city.

Facilities a bit outdated, but generally ok. Staff is pleasant really, even too much.

I dont want to say anyhing bad about the staff, as they really nice, manager is really helpful. But apart feom minor details. We felt a bit awkard when dining in the restaurant almost alone and two staff members was just standing near us overcaring us too much. Its ok to be nice, but you have to give space for your a little space for your guest, guest should feel that you care of him not because of tips.
