Nice rooms and location but will not stay here again. We had a booking and never were told that they were going to be cutting down trees right outside our window during the whole time we were there. It was not safe, it was noisy and it was not nice having workers right outside our bedroom window. And they would not stop the work when we asked them to pause it until we left the next day. Not an ideal holiday situation.

Nice cottage style accommodation, great for waitomo visit

Excellent place to stay next to the glow worm cave. Quiet and peaceful.

Walking distance to Waitomo caves. Barely any other guests because I came during the off season. They said checkout was at 10am but my bus to leave Waitomo didn’t come until 4 so the host let me stay in the room for an extra half day without any extra fees. Breakfast was good, good variety of stuff for the price. Great for solo travelers or families with kids. There’s a restaurant nearby that I went to for dinner, it was also great.

Helpful staff who explained attractions well. Warm, comfortable, clean and tidy in the twin room with ensuite.

Excellent location for visiting the caves. Cabins are well maintained as are the other facilities. Walkable to general store and up to the cave visitor centre. The gentleman on reception was exceptionally welcoming and helpful.

I stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and it was great - large room, hot water, clean! Kitchen was well equipped and very clean and tidy. Fairly basic property, rooms and amenities, but definitely contained everything that was described in the details! All staff were friendly and welcoming and I really enjoyed my stay!

A super clean tidy and perfectly adequate room. We are used to DOC huts tho so anything is luxury to us. Beds we clean and comfy. Room was warm with two heaters. Simple but perfect for our hiking stay

We went to the cave and this was close place. Rooms were nice. We arrived late and had to go to town for food that was about 12 min away. While we were there we found this great handmade baggage store.. Awesome work and nice guy. Don't remember the name but it was next to the only gas station.

Nice unique property for remote location. We enjoyed the stay as its close to the Waitomo Glowworm cave.

Simple but clean accommodation. Stayed in an upstairs room with a bathroom, lighting on the outdoor steps up to the room was poor at night but otherwise the room was fine for a one night stay. Friendly service at reception on arrival and departure. Had a very good fish burger at the pub next door and hubby had a very good seafood chowder.

Close to Waitomo Caves and Tomo's restaurant which was a great feed

The room was comfortable. However, we arrived late and had challenges finding a parking spot near the rooms. Also, the hotel is very close to farmland. I was woken up very early to cows wanting breakfast.

Great place to stay when visiting Waitomo Cave region. Close to a few places to eat, but not much around the area otherwise.

Good location to visit the glowworm caves. Nice log cabin style accommodation. Clean but sign's of being tired. Basic provisions although you could use the communal kitchen. Ate at the lical pun Tomo eatery which was excellent.

Lovely owners, clean and quiet. If not wanting to walk upstairs check with motel directly for your options as some rooms are upstairs.

Fabulous location for visiting the caves. Good clean and spacious room. It would have been nice to have more than one chair in a room with 5 beds but fortunately there were plenty of beds to sit on. Great views!

Great family run chalet.

Neat and tidy property. Clean. Owners were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Would be great to get the cafe up and running again, but the Tomo pub and eatery next door had good food!

Great place for a little stop over.

Eric at the desk was incredibly sweet and hospitable. Offered us towels to borrow for black water rafting and let us store luggage after check out while we did our activities before leaving. Wonderful spot. Hope they get a chance to reopen the cafe and continue doing well after covid.

Cute little hotel walking distance to Waitomo Caves. This hotel exceeded our expectations -- the room was very clean and bright and looked recently redone. Very comfortable. And an easy walk from both the caves and a handful of handy restaurants and a coffee shop. The hotel manager was very nice and helpful. Would stay again!

The suite was great for the short time we were there. Lighting could have been better within, but the stay was very comfortable

Location is good and it was close to restaurants, but a little but old and the bathroom was basic.

Comfortable room, and the owners went out of their way to help us in a difficult manner.

We loved our stay here! The location was perfect for visiting the caves and eating a great meal after! The kitchen was perfect for us to make a quick breakfast before leaving for our next adventure! The only issue was the heater made banging noises all night.

Such a great place to stay when checking out Waitomo. Highly recommend staying in a private room as a couple. But when we passed by the hostel type rooms, they were quite charming too. We’d love to visit again with friends and family. Great cooking facilities and even a washer/dryer.

Not a lot dining option in the evening. It took me a lot of time found it , but it was clean and peaceful

Picturesque property in a peaceful village. Staff were great, warm and welcoming. The room was large and well equipped. Simple but very clean. Very convenient location to a pub and general store both steps away. Would definitely recommend!

Very basic but comfortable rooms, 15 minute walk from Waitomo Caves and Walkway and adjacent to eateries and small grocery in Waitomo Village. Short hill climb and flight of stairs to reach our second floor accommodation; not a problem for us but might be challenging for those with mobility issues. No AC.

The property is in a great location, can walk to 2 restaurants, and store. Our room was lovely with a balcony to sit out on. The hosts Lynn and Glen were the best!

The room was very small and the carpet was threadbare. There was one towel each to shower with, but only one hand towel for both of us. There was no luggage rack, so had to put luggage on the floor. The room is showed it with a kitchenette when I booked it, but there was nothing but a small refrigerator and a hot pot. Because there was no air conditioning we had to leave the windows open, which allowed the bugs to come in. For those traveling to see the glowworms stay in Hamilton. It’s only an hour away.

We loved staying here. Brilliant location. Happy relaxed vibe. Geat hosts who cant do enough for you. They have recently taken over so have lots of plans for the site. Would love to have stayed longer. Loved the bar just down the hill too. Everything within walking distance.

Fantastic chalet-style accommodation located perfectly in Waitomo Village. A stones throw to the pub for dinner and a stroll to lovely walks and the visitor centre. Lovely staff and clean, functional rooms. One of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept on!

Our two night at the chalets were perfect. The room had everything we needed and the hosts were a delight. We would definitely stay again.

Close to everything

Lovely little spot for our family of four! Space for the teenagers. Loved being able to walk right down the hill to the pub for dinner and a drink. Clean

Cheap very basic looking interiors. More like cabins. Cold in winter. No shampoo or body wash in shower. Overpriced for what you get.

I had a great 3 night stay, the owners David and Pamela plus their staff are really friendly and info on the surroundings. Close to eaterys and where the Intercity bus stops. My room was lovely even if it did have a creaking area so sorry for the people downstairs. The shower leaked at little on one corner but that was what a bath mat was for. Plus I loved the use for the kitchen even if I could stay that after checkout waiting for the bus.

The building looked a little tired compared with others in complex. But inside was fresh, clean and just what we needed for a one night stop.

I guess for a small village, we can’t have too much expectation but David was very helpful

Owners were friendly and check and check out quick and easy The adjacent tavern offers hearty meals at fair prices Great place to stay if you have an early cave tour. Being built of all timber the floor does squeak and you can hear your adjacent neighbors moving around My advice is get a top floor cabin. There are no hotel chains or premium accommodation in Waitomo and this is one of the better places to stay.

Good basic accomadation. Clean and quiet. Appreciated the recommendation to eat at Huhu, which was very good.
