Really impressed with the room size.The room had plenty of space and got a view over looking the sea. The pool was very clean 👌🏽 overall a nice hotel. The staff was very helpful . One minute walk from Polhena beach and 10 min walk from Madiha beach.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room was spotless and comfortable and a good price. The breakfast was good, they provided more than we could eat. It only took a couple of minutes to walk to Polhena beach where we saw turtles and a ray.

Tolle Lage, etwas abseits vom Rummel. Schöne Terasse auf dem Dach zum Essen mit super Aussicht. Mit Tuk Tuk kann man gut die anderen Strände in der Umgebung erreichen und auch morgens nach Misissa zum Walewatching gelangen. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Uns haf der Strand Polhena Beach super gefallen. Es gibt auch viele Einheimische die dort baden gehen. Alles total entspannt und freundlich. Und das Beste sind die Turtles, welche man im Wasser hautnah beobachten kann...

Was close to the beach and the staff were very friendly

The bathroom was old fashioned. Bath with shower curtain Toilet was hard up against the bath so that your knees were hitting the bath when you sat down. Also bath was old and marked

We had the most wonderful and pleasant stay in this beautifully decorated hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Both the manager and the owner were attentive to the guests needs and comfort -checking on us few times, which was wonderful. The location in close proximity to the beach with amazing views which is another highlight. We definitely will return back when we are back in Sri Lanka.

Вид с любой точки прекрасен, песчаный пляж без волн в 2 минутах . Собственный бассейн с охлаждающей приятной водой! Жили неделю с двумя детьми , номер просторный для семьи с детьми. Есть интернет и парковка . Если искать недостатки то их можно найти даже в очень дорогом отеле , мы отдыхали , наслаждались отдыхом , гостеприимными людьми, красотой вокруг!!! Всем рекомендуем !!!

Die Unterkunft war architektonisch interessant. Haben wir so nicht nochmal gesehen auf unsere 1-monatigen Sri Lanka Reise. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und man hat uns geholfen Tagestrips zu vereinbaren. Selbst Yoga inklusive Lehrer wird jeden Morgen angeboten. Wir waren mit unserer 3-jährigen Tochter dort, die ebenfalls viel Spaß hatte und die Zeit in Culture Resort sehr genoss.

Culture Resort is a truly memorable place. What we loved most was the surroundings – peaceful, green, with very little traffic, perfect for real rest and slowing down. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the manager Indu is absolutely outstanding. She was always available, caring and attentive, and even after we had already left the hotel she continued to check on us and make sure everything was fine. The breakfasts were excellent – fresh, varied and prepared with great care. The beach is another highlight: wild, beautiful, with turtles swimming freely close to the shore – a rare and special experience. A special mention goes to Charik, with whom we practiced yoga every morning, and who also played great music in the café, creating a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere throughout the day. The architecture of the resort is also worth highlighting – thoughtfully designed, harmonious with nature, and aesthetically beautiful. It adds a lot to the calm, inspiring character of the place. This is a resort with soul, run by people who genuinely care about their guests. We would love to return.

Great location and wonderful views. Pool is very nice and views from restaurant are gorgeous. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are large and bed is comfortable and protected with mosquito net. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The bathroom is very small and most of the space wasted on a scratched bath tub that would be rarely used in a double room. This makes it difficult for taller people to use the toilet. Price was quite high compared to similar properties.

В номере было чисто, убирались каждый день, меняли полотенца, есть холодильник и кондиционер. В целом отличный отель. Дают маски и пляжные полотенца. Мы ходили на пляжи на другую сторону деревушки, потому что нам там показалось уютнее. На ближайшем пляже я увидела, как одна из многочисленных бегающих там собачек делает свои дела прямо в песочек, и у меня остался осадочек, как-то больше не захотелось там купаться и загорать... Все очень размеренно и неторопливо, как и везде на Шри-Ланке, так что на завтраке надо будет подождать подачу блюд. Два вида завтрака, мы брали все время европейский, потому что местный для нас оказался слишком аутентичным. Есть йога по утрам, кстати, очень даже хорошая, но совсем не для новичков, я бы сказала, т.е. просто расслабиться не получится. Но мне было самое то, хотя все полтора часа для меня было тяжеловато, я уходила пораньше. Кстати, на другом конце деревушки, прямо у бара V8 есть пляж, где вы можете поплавать с черепахами. Совершенно бесплатно. Об этом никто не говорит и предлагает услуги платных гидов, которые отведут вас в секретные места, где есть черепахи. Мы не знали, и взяли гида, но в целом я не жалею, потому что он показал как кормить этих черепашек и плавал все время рядом с нами. Есть единственная на всю деревушку школа серфинга, которую мы и посещали.

Très bel hôtel au style chic et soigné, situé du côté de Matara. Chambre spacieuse, confortable et très agréable, avec une bonne literie et une belle salle de bain. Cadre calme et esthétique, propice à la détente. Matériel de snorkeling (masques et tubas) prêté gratuitement, ce qui est un vrai plus pour profiter de la région. Très bonne surprise lors du premier petit-déjeuner avec un buffet varié et de grande qualité (omelettes, saucisses, pancakes excellents). Qualité des plats globalement bonne, bien cuisinés et savoureux.

Organisation de la restauration perfectible. Forte différence entre les deux petits-déjeuners : le second était beaucoup plus simple et décevant par rapport au premier. Choix limité et peu adapté à nos habitudes au petit-déjeuner (fruits basiques, pois chiches). Temps d’attente assez longs pour les repas, avec des plats parfois indisponibles malgré leur présence sur la carte. Service non synchronisé : les plats arrivent en décalé, ce qui empêche de manger en même temps. Quantités parfois un peu justes, notamment pour les accompagnements comme les frites.

L’hotel è in una splendida posizione, appena fuori dal centro caotico , raggiungibile comunque in pochi minuti, anche grazie alle biciclette gratuite, davvero un piacevole confort! Ha poi un’architettura raffinata ed elegante, come tutto il personale: grazie a Indi sempre Gentile e attenta a ogni nostra esigenza, e un particolare ringraziamento a Charaka, il maestro di yoga mattutino ( anche le lezioni sono gratis, un grande dono dell hotel!) insomma siamo stati molto bene e ci siamo proprio rilassati, anche perché la camera era molto grande, arredata con gusto e dalla vista splendida! Altamente raccomandato!

The location is great, close to a beach within one minute of walk, the view from hotel patio is great. The food is good. Overall, it is a great value for the money.

- das Badezimmer: auf der Toilette kann ich leider fast nicht sitzen, da die Dusche direkt davor gebaut wurde - Polhena ist leider zu einem „Partyort“ geworden. Bis 0130 Uhr kam sehr laute Musik vom nahem Strand

La atencion de los trabajadores inmejorables. El desayuno es muy completo y bueno. Las habitaciones estan genial, totalmente equipadas. La ubicacion perfecta para descansar y al mismo tiempo estar cerca de playas y excursiones. Repetiríamos sin duda.

La ubicación frente al mar, habitación muy amplia y moderna con balcón desde donde se ve el mar. Desayunos espectaculares, los mejores en estas dos semanas de viaje. Personal amable. Te dejan toallas, gafas y bicis. Se puede llegar andando a madiha y la playa de polhena está casi a las puertas del hotel. Nada más llegar nadamos con tortugas y no hay mucha aglomeración de turistas, hay más locales.

Durante el día a veces se escuchaba la música del restaurante de arriba en la habitación, nosotros preferimos el sonido del mar. Aún así repetiríamos sin duda.

Feels like home, kind and caring staff with amazing ocean’s views. Very clean and very good breakfast, every day one pleasant surprise. Polhena beach is perfect for swimming, with high chances to spotting sea turtles. The last day, we had breakfast from the rooftop spotting turtles at the reef, incredible.

Nothing to complain, even the restaurant under the hotel, from outside perhaps it is not very welcoming, the food is excellent.

The room was very comfortable, clean and had the amenities we wanted. The hotel is close to the centre of the town and and other amenities. Good breakfast.

The beach front was disappointing as it is rocky and the nearest beach which was highly rated by bookings.com called polhena was filthy. Hotels nearby are not responsible for this as they don’t own or immediately borders the beach front. For this reason I will not be staying in the area again.

It was a beautiful property and so inviting. Although we traveled out of season and could not access the ocean due to high tide, the hotel itself is tastefully decorated and gives a warm and nostalgic vibe of Sri Lanka's history. The breakfast was excellent, polite staff and gorgeous views.

The restaurant options were limited but the staff complied. The pool located at entrance is not very inviting but the hotel itself is so beautiful and serene that that's easily forgiveable.

We had a nice stay at Culture. The area, especially the walk to Madiha and the cute little local beach. It does have a road outside the property, but it is very quiet and not a main route. It’s lovely that you can hear the sound of the waves from the room itself. The host was responded very promptly and helped with organising Tuk Tuk and provided options for activities in the area. She regularly checked that we were happy which we were. The room was cleaned to a good standard each day.

There were a few minor issues we didn’t think worth mentioning at the time but nothing major. The lock for the door was difficult to engage. The room had a bath with shower above the bath. We’d never personally use a bath in climate like this so felt that a shower would’ve been more appropriate. The sink plug was broken. I personally did not like the black shower curtain. The ceiling fan was oddly fitted and the handle into the bathroom squeaked when you open it which was not ideal as we had our baby sleeping in the room. These are quite minor issues, but at this price and given the standard of the rest of the property, I would expect the room to be maintained to a slightly higher level but I’m sure all of these issues would be rectified after our visit.

It’s not about hotel! Nearby polhena beach is rocky. It is not comfortable to enter to the water w/o aqua shoes and it’s not so deep. Anyway great Mirissa beach is nearby by scooter or tuk tuk

We arrived very late and the staff was very helpful in getting some food delivered from the restaurant even after business hours. They had run out of the tartar sauce, but made a small batch for us. Nothing really. Just some suggestions to make it better. The A/C in the triple rooms point only to the main sleeping area. The airflow does not reach the other bed/room. The 3rd floor restaurant can use some ceiling fans….the sea breeze isn’t quite enough.

Nice, small hotel close to the beach. The property has a pool and a cafe. Staff were very friendly and always eager to help. The recommendation for Ayurvedic massage was very good and the super nice lady at the 'front desk' also made the booking for me. Property is on the beach road but the road was not very busy when I was there. There are a number of beach clubs and restaurants a couple of minutes away along the road. To get to other locations you may need a taxi or have a driver and car. Overall I had a really good stay and I would stay here again.

The cafe serves decent food but only has outdoor, i.e. non-air-conditioned seating. However, you can order food from the cafe to your room. Unfortunately several Sri Lankan items on the menu were not available. If you like your air conditioning quite cold you may be disappointed. It was fine for my needs but even after two days of uninterrupted use, the temperature stayed above 20 degrees Celsius. Drivers' quarters are available and cheap (1,500 per night in May) but they are not air conditioned.

We were really happy with our stay in Culture Resort. Initially we didn’t like the room given to us at first so the staff immediately offered us a different option which satisfied us. The host was helpful. The waiters at the restaurant were really attentive. The rooms were clean. The pool was refreshing. The view and sound of the ocean made our stay even more comforting. We would recommend this place!

We have been very well welcomed, the room and the whole hotel were extremely clean, super good breakfast. They lend us snorkling gear to swim with turtles (litteraly 5 min walk from the hotel)! The owner came to personally welcome us and was very attentive to any recommendation we wanted to ask.

Buildings and interiors are very beautifully designed. The manager is very nice. The breakfast is fantastic and the cleaning of the rooms is spotless. After a minute's walk, you are at Polhena beach, where you can see many turtles when you snorkel in the clear calm water. Hotellets pool är ren och svalkande.

The location is great, close to the beach and some shops where you can find what you need. I think that the breakfast menu should have at least two options - the food was great but you get bored FAST of the only omelette they have, I wish someone would at least ask me if I wanted a boiled egg or a sunny side eggs. A big plus would be the fruits your get and fresh fruit juice.

I did not like the amount of stray dogs hanging around. I wish they would mention in advance that if you do not pay in cash they charge you an extra fee for paying with card, this was not fair-play. I understand you want to avoid some costs, but add it to the room price or something. Not everyone travels with large amounts of cash these days!

I was with my two daughters and our stay at this beachside resort was absolutely magical! The close proximity to the pristine beach and mesmerizing ocean views created a truly blissful atmosphere. The family-friendly environment, great indoor pool, and attentive staff, including an extremely helpful owner, Prasad, made our experience unforgettable. We felt right at home, and the resort's commitment to guest satisfaction was evident in every detail. It's the perfect destination for a serene escape with loved ones. Highly recommended!" Added bonus: we were able to get up close with a turtle in the sea waters off polhena with the great guidance from the staff( and with the help of the snorkeling gear provided by the resort).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel near Polhena Beach in Sri Lanka, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel had one of the best breakfasts I have ever had, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. The restaurant overlooked the beach, which made for a wonderful start to the day. The hotel was also conveniently located just a short walk from the beach, which was perfect for early morning or sunset strolls. The beach itself was beautiful, with crystal-clear waters and soft, white sand. The hotel even provided beach towels and chairs for their guests. But what really made my stay special was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They truly made me feel at home. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay near Polhena Beach. The delicious breakfast, convenient location, and friendly staff make it a top choice for any traveler.

A wonderful view of the sea. Living room. Excellent recreation area for visitors under the roof. Helpful staff. Stylish pool in the middle of the hotel!!! The sandy beach is 2 minutes away. Excellent seafood taverns and restaurants start 20m from the front door. The hotel wi-fi is in the receiving area!

Everything was perfect and amazing. The boutique hotel was an exceptional place to relax and unwind. It offers great family entertainment such as pool facilities, free bicycles for anyone to have a relaxed ride around the area, delicious food to satisfy anyone's palette and taste and they arrange trips to the turtle farms, whale watching tours or anywhere you wish to visit during your stay. From the owner Dr Prasad to everyone there make sure that you are well looked after to the maximum.

The hotel is located close to the beach and you'll have great views from the balcony. The room is well equipped (A/C, fridge, safe, kettle, balcony etc) and had a comfortable bed. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good shape. Check-in and Check-out were easy and fast. The owners asked us about breakfast and what we would like and prepared accordingly. They were also kind to organise a tuktuk for us to bring us to Matara. Polhena beach is a true gem on the south coast and was my favorite among all I saw. They also have some restaurants close by.

Not a big problem, but the owners were never replying to my messages sent on booking and the number on booking.com was not responding. So we had to call the number you'll find on Google.

Nous avons passés 6 nuits a l’hôtel culture club en petit déjeuner. Hotel a taille humaine très peu de chambre.Très bon wifi. Finalement nous avons pris tout nos repas car restaurant très propre, ils cuisinent devant vous, nourriture fraîche. Le personnel est très très serviable et toujours très disponible pour nous. Les chambres sont immenses et toutes ont vue sur l'océan. La très belle plage et ses tortues sont à 200 mètres.Nous remercions le responsable monsieur Waruna de son accueil et de sa gentillesse ainsi que tous les employés qui nous ont permis de passer de très bonnes vacances
