Everything!! Excellent location especially for fireworks 🎆 downtown July 4th and to celebrate our 25th Silver Anniversary!!

Your fragrance is torturing people. Do you have any idea how many are fragrance sensitive allergic or just dislike artificial, chemically based fragrances? There is now a class action suit against Marriott and other businesses that use these fragrances. Just because you may like it, you have no clue how many people react with headaches, nausea, sneezing etc. The hotel is beautiful but I can no longer enter due to your fragrance.

The hotel was beautiful, clean & close to downtown Sarasota making it convenient to walk everywhere. Overall, the hotel was great and the room was specious and clean. We were chosen as guests of the day & they gave us a free bottle of wine which was amazing!

$45 to valet park was excessive. We chose to park in the parking garage but still had to pay $25. Also I didn’t like that a $28 amenity fee was added on to our bill even though we didn’t utilize anything that was “included” in that fee. I think it should be added only if you choose to utilize the services. Overall, the property was nice but I’m not sure it was worth the $300 / night price tag.

Excellent stay at the Art Ovation Hotel! The accommodations were great, the food was amazing, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to Jim, the shuttle driver. I had an amazing stay, and a huge part of that was thanks to Gaby and Gabriela at the front desk. They are truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with genuine smiles, kindness, and incredible professionalism. They were always happy to help with anything we needed, gave us great recommendations, answered every question with patience, and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Their positive energy, warmth, and attention to detail made a real difference and turned a great hotel into an unforgettable experience. Every time we come to the restaurant, the valet attendants immediately tell us that we have to "take care of them." It feels like they're asking for money upfront, which comes across as rude and unprofessional. After visiting the rooftop or restaurant several times, I wanted to pay the valet fee at the front desk, but the valet attendant refused and wouldn't let me. Instead, I was told I had to pay the valet attendant directly with $20 cash. The hotel and the valet need to get on the same page. This system isn't right. There should be a clear and consistent payment process instead of making guests feel like they're being pressured or hustled for cash.

I had an amazing vacation at this hotel! From the beautiful accommodations to the excellent service, everything was truly first-class. The entire experience was relaxing, elegant, and unforgettable. A special thank you to Tony from the valet team. He was extremely professional, friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. His excellent service really added to our experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a memorable vacation. I will definitely be coming back!

We had an incredible stay at the Art Ovation in Sarasota and can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel welcome, and the service throughout our stay was outstanding. Ann Marie and the front desk team were friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great Sarasota recommendations. The valet team, especially Adam and the weekend crew, went above and beyond helping with our complimentary beach chairs, umbrella, and towels, while also offering excellent restaurant suggestions. Marline, our housekeeper, was equally exceptional and made our room feel like home. The hotel itself is fantastic. The rooftop bar is a must, the downtown location is perfect for walking to shops and restaurants, and the complimentary shuttle to places like Lido Beach and St. Armands Circle is such a great perk. This was one of the best Marriott stays we’ve had, and we can’t wait to return.

This is the best hotel downtown Sarasota due to location , employees and overall vibe . Music at night in lobby and rooftop bar area . Shout out to John one of the shuttle drivers for always being so friendly and professional . Great job !

Stayed 6 nites. Hotel was very nice as was the rooftop pool and bar. On certain evenings, they had live music in the lobby and rooftop bar. Complimentary beach chairs and umbrella a big plus! Location was fantastic. Walk to Bayside, restaurants and bars. Anna Maria at the front desk is the absolute best ( always smiling and kind and caring). Valet parking not cheap however the attendants Adam and Tony were fantastic ( they just made it easy for us-even returning the beach chairs and umbrella to the front desk). Room was your standard room ( nice though and clean). Hard to change TV channels as you have to point remote close to tv and give it a good press. Oh well, can’t have everything. Would definitely stay here again. Once again, all the staff was fantastic!

Art Ovation is perhaps the premier hotel in the Sarasota city area. The location is second to none and just steps away from performing arts, art galleries, shops, and the best restaurants in Sarasota. Access and transpo to local beaches is provided by the hotel shuttle service as well as beach chairs and towels. It's such a wonderful service! The hotel is beuatifully and uniquely decorated with local art and energizing music. Our room was spotless and appointed with high quality linens and toiletries. The rooftop pool and bar is outstanding, providing panoramic views of Sarasota. Prepare to be greeted and assisted by the kindest staff in Sarasota from the valet, front desk, management up to the pool and restaurant staff. The on-site restaurant is also very high quality whether it be for full menu a la carte breakfast or lunch and dinner. Having stayed at other high end hotels and resorts in the area, none of them provide a higher value experience. It's not even close.

A special thank you to Vanessa at the Pull-Up Restaurant & Bar, who looked after us every single day for two weeks. Her service was nothing short of outstanding. We stayed one night over the July 4th holiday, and before I say anything else, I want to give an enthusiastic A+ to the people who work here. It was an incredibly busy holiday weekend, yet every single person we encountered—from the valet and front desk to management and the team at Tzeva—was warm, gracious, patient and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Ana Maria at the front desk and Joe at Tzeva, who exemplified what hospitality should be. Hospitality is about making people feel valued, and this team gets it exactly right. At one point, someone even appeared at our door with a box of delicious macarons—a thoughtful surprise that perfectly captured the spirit of the hotel. The lobby, with its rotating exhibitions of regional artists, remains one of the most beautiful and inviting public spaces in Sarasota, and Tzeva continues to be my favorite restaurant in town. As far as I’m concerned, Art Ovation is the most perfectly located hotel in Sarasota. Step outside and you’re within walking distance of theaters, galleries, outstanding restaurants and the bayfront. There’s simply no better place to stay. Now… a note for Marriott corporate. (And this is my rant at almost every Marriott property.) When someone designs a Marriott bathroom, has that person ever actually stayed in one? Our room had luxurious robes—but the bathroom had exactly one hook. One. The only towel racks were practically at toilet level, right next to the toilet. (Not exactly where I’d choose to hang my face towel.) So after showering, where are guests supposed to hang a robe, bath towel and change of clothes? The floor? Hooks. Towel bars. That’s it. This isn’t rocket science. These are small things, but they’re the kind of practical details that separate a good room from a great one. Marriott’s bathroom designers would benefit from spending one night in the rooms they create. Don’t let the bathroom design stop you from staying at Art Ovation. The people, the location, the art and Tzeva make it one of Sarasota’s true gems.

Chose the hotel because of the location and rooftop bar to watch the July 4 fireworks. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. Though we didn't use it, the hotel provides shuttle service to shopping and beaches and even offers beach chairs and a cooler! The wait staff on the rooftop were great in spite of the heat. We had a delicious breakfast at Tzeva, the hotel restaurant. Our server, Tin was lovely. We will be back!

I liked the staff and cleanliness of the room.

The room furniture was in poor condition and the bed was not comfortable. I also wish there was a limit on the amount of people allowed to pay to get on the rooftop so the guests can enjoy the pool too.

Road tripping around FL and Sarasota was a must stop location. We found the hotel online and thought it looked good - we weren't disappointed! Friendly staff, comfy rooms, great water pressure in the shower! Rooftop pool and bar was a nice spot to wind down after a day at turtle beach!

I spent 5 lovely solo nights at The Art Ovation at the beginning of June. This will be another long post as I have many to recognize and thank for my wonderful stay. Artem and Wes…your staff was, once again, outstanding. I was given the same room as last visit and I was so pleased to see the new headboard re-vamp…looks great! And it is my understanding that all rooms got a new headboard treatment. Valet staff: Floyd, Sebastian, Tony, and Adam…I love you guys! Thank you for all you did for me during my stay. Shuttle Drivers: Rich and David…these two drove me around Sarasota and ALWAYS opened and closed the van doors for me and made sure to lend an arm or hand to help me in and out of the van. I truly appreciated this gesture…every single time. And I met some cool kids that were a part of the Sarasota Music festival staying at the hotel. I dined at Don Luigi across the street. Took the shuttle other nights to dine at Hanami, Hyde Park Prime, and Ocean Prime. Wei at Tzeva: so good to see you again. Thank you for your always gracious demeanor. And my breakfast was delicious. I stayed at the Art Ovation for two weeks as part of the Sarasota Music Festival, and we took advantage of the shuttle service very often to get us to where we needed to go. I am very grateful to the kind, friendly, and patient drivers that we had the pleasure of meeting- John, Richie, Jim, Adam, and David were all part of what made my stay in Sarasota so much fun.

Good service! They were kind and fast

Hotel was great with plenty of great amenities live music. The shuttle van was great to and from the beach and St Armands circle. John our driver was outgoing and made us laugh the whole time. The experience was great for the whole trip. Room was clean and exceptional.

Fantastic hotel with exceptional pool area and pool staff. Room was comfy with large shower and bathroom. Location is also very good.

AC unit was a bit noisy but this was sorted as soon as reported.

I’m a Sarasota local and me and my friends go to eat drink and use the pool, sometimes I don’t have the best experience with the door guy for the pool, but Vanessa behind the bar is absolutely amazing she knows how to treat customers and is a great bartender as well, definitely going to come back and request her she deserves the best!

I had a wonderful stay at the Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota. Even though I was only there for one night on business, the experience truly stood out. I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a one-bedroom suite, which was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The front desk team was exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially since I arrived quite late due to a delayed flight. Despite the long travel day, I slept like a baby—the bed was that comfortable! While I didn’t have time to enjoy the rooftop or other amenities, everything about my stay was seamless and relaxing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and look forward to spending more time at the hotel on a future visit.

This hotel is beautiful! I recently stayed with my husband because he had a conference and had a fantastic experience. The facilities were excellent, the rooftop bar is a must-visit, and the art gallery lobby is so unique. Every team member from the front desk, bartenders, valet, and maids were amazing too! Elise who was answering the phone was a highlight! I kept worrying I was annoying her with all of my questions but she was always kind and bright on the phone. Tyler was also incredibly kind helping us with early check-in. I asked him to call me when the room was ready and he worked magic and called back earlier than I was expecting! My only complaint is that the room feels a little old and beat up. The furniture has some scratches and the big glass shower door was hard to open. With how much the hotel costs to stay in they really should be spending more money to keep the room in good repair. But the staff by far made up for a few scratches though. The stay was great and to anyone who is on the fence, I would highly recommend!

Chase and the front desk crew were amazing - we stayed at the Ritz Carlton last year (which was fine of course) but we will be coming back every year to the Art Ovation because of this team. Dave and Tin in the restaurant were exceptional as well. The art, the vibe the service: all 5 stars

Booked the rooftop pool for my friend’s 60th birthday party. Nicole, the events manager, was so helpful in getting us what we needed to make it a truly memorable experience! From the atmosphere, music and food were fantastic, but it was the service that was exceptional. Rolando told such good care of us. Thanks to all who made it a special night.

Chas at the front desk has made this an amazing stay. We travel all over the world and this man is one of the most hospitable, gracious, and has integrity. What he says he does. He is a tremendous manager and represents the very best in Marriott. We celebrated our 39th and will be back for our 40th because of this outstanding customer service.

Pros: Overall property and room was clean and comfortable. Good bed. Good shower/water pressure. Very artsy decor throughout property, hence the "Art" Ovation. In the room there were colored pencils and a sketch book--nice touch. I left my mark there. Convenient walking location. Cons: I'm giving property a 4/5 because the pool is not heated and FREEZING COLD! I mean come on it's a vacation spot! It's not even a big pool--get a solar cover and heat that baby up! Also daytime pool music was AWFUL.

Shuttle driver John was outstanding. He provided exceptional service and made what would normally have been a boring shuttle ride very fun. It was likebeing driven around town by an old friend with great stories and fabulous sense of humor. Well done :)

I try to come to Art Ovation every year for Spring Break, I am a teacher. I always feel safe and taken care of here, I love the rooftop pool and friendly staff! Love John D ( the shuttle driver) . He is always the best part of the trip. John is personable, kind, hilarious and goes out of his way for his customers. He makes my time special.

I chose this hotel based on its location and the roof top bar. We arrived just after 4pm (check-in time), after a 4hour drive from Miami but had to wait an additional 40minutes until the room was ready. No big deal but a bit surprising considering this was the most expensive hotel in which we stayed in our 2 week trip around Florida. We were in room 638 which meant we weren’t far from the roof top bar which was good in some respects but also meant you could hear the thump of music on the Thursday and Friday night of our stay. Fortunately we were tired both nights so it didn’t keep us awake. We didn’t eat here so couldn’t comment on this - we went to the local Whole Foods Market and bought in breakfast ourselves. There was Jazz playing in the downstairs bar and Latin music in the rooftop bar on the Thursday night, Piano music downstairs and music in the Rooftop bar on the Friday night. Definitely a location if you like a wide variety of music/ dancing. We self-parked our car in the Palm Avenue Garage next door and paid for 19 hours of parking. We parked in front of a sign saying zone 2274. Three bays away was a sign saying ‘restricted parking 6am-10am’. We asked a local who didn’t think it was a problem. There was no-one in the garage to ask. We discovered a 35 dollar fine on our windscreen when we retrieved our car. We have since read reviews for this hotel written by American citizens who have also received tickets. The hotel responded to their reviews in February 2024 and August 2025 explaining that they planned to alert guests. Well, by our stay, March 2026, they are still not alerting their guests. We liked the roof top bar and the large room. The first question that reception staff should have asked is - Do you have a vehicle followed up with help telling us where to park without incurring a ticket. This spoiled our stay in Sarasota.

Sarah at the first floor bar was the best! We had an amazing stay at the Art Ovation Hotel. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

Horrible experience unless you want to listen to the music and DJ until 12:30-1 in the morning ( yes with tv on and sound machine could hear ) . Two nights of zero sleep . The pool was unusable on Saturday as guest brought in friends and had party -no chairs for paying guests to sit on . Have stayed at sister property in Wyoming - which was amazing this was one of the worst experiences I have had at hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed at the art ovation hotel by Marriott autograph collection. We were very impressed by the staff as they were extremely inviting, knowledgeable and helpful. What surprised us the most was the fact that they had a shuttle to take us to and from our events. We had a wedding to go to. The night before we had a White party and our Driver Richie was phenomenal. On time, friendly and personable. Got us to our venue safely and then picked us up at a time that we had previously confirmed. The next day, my sister-in-law and I had hair appointments and needed to take the shuttle into St Armand Circle. The shuttle driver was unavailable so the hotel called an Uber for us. We arrived on time and an Uber brought us back to the hotel after our hair was done. The night of the wedding, our shuttle driver was John. Talk about a nice guy! He made our rides to and from the venue so entertaining! His voice impressions of Howard Cosell, etc., exceeded all our expectations. What a joy to ride with him. Highly recommend! And to top it all off the Front Desk manager McKenzie couldn’t do enough for us. It was my birthday and when we went back to our room, we found a birthday card from the staff and a plate of cupcakes! We would definitely return and stay at this hotel. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

Front desk man polite and professional, reviewed perks

The room was clean and we were able to order food/drinks, as needed. The coffee maker wasn't stocked so, we needed to request additional pods for filling/using which was fine. They didn't answer the phone very quickly when we had questions which isn't horrible yet, it took time to engage everyone. Maybe they are understaffed? We went to the rooftop bar and no greeter so, we walked our way to the bar and had a long wait for service yet, the staff was nice yet, everything is a bit slow. Likewise, at night we attended the bar in the lobby and again, a long wait for service for both drinks and food yet, it happened. The artwork is okay - nothing outstanding. It's nice to see a place supporting artist on every floor with a gallery display of items that are for sale. Hopefully, they flip the artwork frequently for more interest and visability.

Slow service all around the hotel and servicers who aren't engaged in what they do for a living. They were clearly at a job and just waiting for a shift to end. Roof top band at night carried down to the room and made it difficult to sleep.

Room was a little shabby with peeling vinyl headboard and dated bathroom.

The destination fee is outrageous and not made very clear when booking: a $28 a day extra charge on top of the day rate. This covers, amongst a couple of other things, shuttle service, a welcome drink, and an in-room instrument! That's right, you pay an extra fee for a kids' ukulele in your room. Odd, but apparently all part of the immersive experience of staying at the resort. Art Ovation is not a resort and there is no immersive experience unless the experience in question is being milked like a cash cow. Blatent mis-selling and a terrible add-on cost.

Property was nice very clean and modern.

We booked a high rise room they put us on the fourth floor, something about water damage to the room we were suppose to get. They gave us vouchers for the valet parking that equaled $45 dollars per day. That’s great but it was our anniversary and I really wanted the high rise city view room. Plus I know we spend more money for that room than just the $45 vouchers. We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so we let it go. Second our booking included breakfast when we went to eat they told us we had to go to the customer service counter… turns out that by booking through booking it’s supposedly a second party that we only get two vouchers per day of $50 for breakfast and it was me my husband and daughter. We had to obviously pay the difference because the restaurant is pricey. Other than that the hotel is beautiful and the valet guys are very nice. So pretty much disappointed for the amount of money spend it’s not worth it.

Two unauthorised charges made. Please be very careful and check the bill thoroughly and don’t use the rooftop bar. Charged for minbar items which we didn’t touch , after we had left, so didn’t get a chance to dispute it whist there. Did get a refund for that. Also charged twice at the rooftop bar. Haven’t got a refund for that and they have stopped answering messages . Be very very careful

Came to Art Ovation’s rooftop for a date night with my husband and loved it. The view was beautiful and the vibe was perfect for a night out. Kyle was our bartender and he was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and made excellent cocktails. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing. We’ll definitely be back.

Took my wife to Art Ovation’s rooftop for a date night and it was a great choice. The views and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for. Kyle was our bartender and he was excellent. Super personable and made great drink recommendations. Every cocktail was spot on.

My wife and I just moved to Lakewood Ranch and decided to spend one night at Art Ovation to get familiar with the area. We were greeted by John your outstanding shuttle driver. He was very informative as to knowing what restaurants my wife and I would like. He took us to Mediterraneo on Main St. The food was delicious. Thank you John for going the extra mile for us.

I went for my birthday an it was Latin Night , as soon as we arrived Rolando opened the door for us Dancing and welcoming us . Later on we met Nicole who find out it was my bday and she was so kind to give me a courtesy drink with sparkles ✨ it made me feel very special. If I’m not wrong Nicole is the manager and I’m actually impressed to see a manager present in a bar that late . All the team seem very happy to work there and with her . Very good vibes, very happy environment and the live music was perfect

Another wonderful 2 night getaway in Sarasota at the Art Ovation Hotel! Wes, Artem…you have a wonderful staff…and this will be a lengthy post because I want to recognize every single employee I interacted with during my stay. Valet / bellmen: Sebastian, it was wonderful to see you again and hear about how well your schooling is going…thank you for the help with my car and bags upon my arrival. Floyd, you were great with directing me and my car during a busy entrance timer when I returned from shopping. Tony and Adam, so nice to see you guys again and thank you with my bags and car upon my departure. Front desk: Addison, I appreciate you…from your checking me in and answering questions and for holding an item from the gift shop for me. Rakel and Agata, thank you so much for your smiles and greetings every time I passed by and answering any questions. Tveza servers: Tin, Samuel, and Wei ….you all are so kind and gracious in your service and demeanor. A pleasure. And I really liked my Eggs Floridian! And host David, I enjoyed our brief chat. Bartenders: Tom, I very much enjoyed meeting you and talking with you. Kristin, always nice to see your dedication when crafting cocktails and talking to you about local restaurants. Kyle at Perspective rooftop…I enjoyed talking with you (and Rio briefly). I love the evening lighting with the LED lamp towers…and that ‘igloo’ enclosure for a private table was very cool. Shuttle driver Rich…thank you for taking me to and from my dinner out…my own private chauffeur! Art Exhibit and lobby concert: Thank you Robyn…it was nice seeing you again and I very much enjoyed the concert in the lobby on Tuesday night…it was lovely. I also enjoyed very much ‘The Flag’ exhibit throughout the hotel…some pieces were quite thought provoking and moving. Room Service: Jana, thank you bringing an unexpected treat to me. Beautiful little boxed macarons and petit fours. And everyone else that I spoke with when I ‘crashed’ your employee party…Becky F, Monique, Mariah, John D, and Angela (wonderful to see you back at the hotel!) If you’re still reading this long review and praise of staff, I also want to mention the hotel robes…best I have ever worn…so soft. (And they sell them in the gift shop…I have one at home) The sketchbook in my room had a gorgeous drawing of the view of outside drawn from inside the room. The little coffee machine took me a minute, but all I had to do was read the directions on a card of how to operate. I bet some folks are intimidated by it, but I figured it out. I did appreciate the little note in the room explaining why the headboards look the way they do…they are not dirty, but worn due to an inferior fabric and it is my understanding that the hotel rooms will have a remodel / refresh probably this summer during the ‘off season.’ Oh, and I found a gem of a little restaurant (Don Luigi) just across the street. I will have to post a separate review of that place…it was outstanding! Artem and Wes, again,…the staff at Art Ovation is exactly like nothing else 😉 and I look forward to returning in the, hopefully, near future. W

Beautiful hotel. Amazing staff! Huge shoutout to our shuttle driver, John! He was such a delight! As soon as he picked us up from the airport, he gave such detailed and insightful advice and instructions for our stay. He even took the time out to give us a ride to pick up food near by. 10/10 highly recommend!

The rooftop of Art Ovation is a beautiful place to watch the sunset and enjoy an end of the week cocktail! Service from Kyle is always 5 stars - he has an amazing memory for our order and greets everyone with a warm smile! The musicians and the view are world class! We highly recommend this to all our friends and visitors.

Matt Glubiak provided an outstanding level of customer service. He exemplifies the qualities of Art Ovation in his professionalism- has a command of the setting and can interact with multiple people and tasks at once. The staff makes this hotel! From the minute you walk in to check out, they do their best to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The shuttle service is a great perk as well, especially when John is the driver!

Service and staff were friendly courteous and eager to help and answer questions. The property is beautiful and the rooms are elegantly appointed.

The meal we had at Tzeva restaurant was disappointing.

We spent an evening here for a short winter getaway. We went to see a concert at the Opera house and rather than heading home to Venice we spent the night. This is a fun hotel with great art work in the lobby and the halls. The art is rotated frequently with many local artists contributing. In our room was a ukulele and a sketch book with pencils - such fun!

Lots of energy here! Live music in the lobby bar and dancing up at the rooftop bar. Room was spacious and very comfortable bed. Check out the art display - a must see. Best of all was John the shuttle driver. He drove us to and from dinner each night and entertained us along the way with jokes and impressions. Added to our great time in Sarasota!!

Above and beyond service. We loved the spacious room, comfortable bed, perfectly clean bath and sheets, and the nespresso machine. The art and art-related touches (such as pencils and a sketchbook and ukulele in the room) makes this feel like an experience, not just a hotel stay. The pool was very nice with plentiful seating and a nearby bar (you could also order from the deck chairs). Spacious gym as well and next to the nice walk along the marina park and close to the Yacht Club where my business meeting took place. The valet was quick too as we called in advance of heading down to the lobby. Perhaps most unexpected was receiving a personalized feedback email after our stay. ABOVE AND BEYOND!

Art Ovation failed to have water available in our room. The indicated a $3 charge for water on the bottles, yet had no indication of the small sparkling water bottles being $6 each. This is sneaky and a less than poor business model. No more Marriott stays for us. At $500 per night for a room that was in deteriorating condition, we are done.
