Hostal del Cerro

La ubicación, está muy cerca de la entrada al Cerro San Cristóbal por Av. Pedro de Valdivia, el lugar es muy tranquilo.

A mi llegada al Hostal, nadie me abrió la puerta, estuve mucho tiempo esperando afuera, hasta que llegó una persona que estaba alejándose allí y me invitó a pasar y esperar adentro para mi check in. En la habitación que me asignaron N°2, habían varios artefactos eléctricos conectados a un alargador que pasaba debajo de una de las dos camas y llegaba a un enchufe que tenía triple justo a la altura de la cabecera de dicha cama, además estaba conectado al triple la lampara de la habitación, en mi opinión la conexión eléctrica se veía muy rudimentaria e insegura. Cuando me asignaron la habitación, me enteré que el baño era compartido y este correspondía al baño ubicado en la recepción del Hostal, el que se encontraba salpicado con orina la tapa del WC.

O quarto é grande, bem mobiliado.

Havia uma reforma no teto próximo à cozinha e um odor desagradável estava exalando. O chuveiro do banheiro que fica no térreo não esquentou a água o suficiente. Ainda bem que o banheiro do andar superior estava bom.

Great location with a quick walk to the mall and various places to eat. Everything was clean and it was very spacious.

Shower pressure was weak but we didn't mind too much.

No me gustó que en uno de los baños no salía agua caliente por lo que más personas iban a un mismo baño a ducharse

Lo tranquilo, acogedor, limpio, agradable, cómodo y cercano del todo.

La ventana de la habitación que nos tocó, esa daba hacia la calle y se escuchaba el ruido de los vehículos.

Lo único que puede decir es que al haber pocos baños muchas veces estaban ocupados, pero es entendible por tratarse de habitaciones privadas con baños compartidos.

Muy poca seguridad a las 3am un borracho de la habitación de al lado quiso ingresar a nuestra habitación ya que tienen un balcón compartido, mientras uno tenía la puerta para que no entrara,ya que las trabas son viejas y con un empujón un poco fuerte se abren, el otro llamaba al número de dueño que atendió por Wp ya que en el hostel a la noche no queda nadie, nos informó que les envío un Wp a los del cuarto de al lado, el tipo se fue luego de forcejear un rato, dormimos cruzando otra cama en la puerta, pero obviamente intranquilos.

EVERYTHING WAS A DISASTER

THE FACT NO ONE WAS AT THE PROPERTY. My booking was confirmed. I messaged the property several times to tell them my expected arrival time. Turned up in a taxi, no one was there. I messaged, no answer. I called, no answer. I waited 45min in the dark outside alone (F) with all my bags and no one was there. Unacceptable. I had to call another taxi to pick me up and when i booked another hotel, they finally got back to me to tell me someone was there and to come back. LIES. I waited 45min. there was no lights on, nothing. They were not home. I had to book another more expensive hotel at 8:30pm last minute and pay for another taxi. Completely unacceptable, my booking should never have been confirmed and the owner should not have lied to say there were there.

Bom custo benefício, quarto e banheiro individuais e localização muito boa! Cama confortável.

O hostel parece um pouco mais descuidado do que pelas fotos. O banheiro do quarto não tinha ventilação adequada e era mais antigo, com um cheiro não muito agradável, ainda que limpo. Vale a pena pelo custo benefício.

Short walk to centre of Providencia. Lounge area with tv and fridge etc. Big kitchen. Large twin room, friendly staff. Felt very secure and safe with key card entry to all doors.

Bed had some hair in it, think because of many blankets in winter most likely. Only one bathroom near reception, sometimes ran out of toilet paper. Not always someone in reception. Room a bit damp by windows in winter.

I am staying at Rodrigo’s hotel for a month and working remotely during the day. The hostel is very fun! There is a well equipped kitchen and great wifi. I couldn’t recommend it more. The Internet speed is great for working remotely!

The place is the best combination of a big old family house (in terms of coziness and decor) and updated facilities for the best. My room was well accommodated, 2 beds for a single person (they told me that all rooms are private, so I didn't have to share), a nice modern desk, the door lock is electronic, and felt incredibly secure. The kitchen have everything you need to make your own breakfasts, and the best is that this place is incredibly well placed, a 10 minute walk to Costanera Mall, 3 minute walk to the closest supermarket, and also a 10 minute walk to the closest metro gate, for those who like to go further for cheap. The neighborhood seemed peaceful, and the staff will make you feel most than welcomed! I will return here for sure.

Maybe the bathrooms installations are kinda too old, but they're functional for what you need. I think the only thing they need to get better at is to add an option of outlets for international visitors, I had to "survive" for the first day before knowing where to buy the outlet convertor.

The owners were technically never there, it was difficult to get any information from them, and the drinking water ballon was locked in a room from around 7 in the evening until 10 am the next day.

The hostel is in a quieter part of Santiago, only a 15 minute walk to where the San Cristobal hike is. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious and clean. The neighborhood definitely felt safe.

It is pretty far from the city and restaurants. It takes about an hour and a bit to walk to City centre.

location was nice and close to a lot of things

the front door is very problematic to open and close. They should really switch to a key pad. Also, they don’t have someone there until after 9am and no staff over night which is problematic incase there is an emergency.

this a really great deal for a good area of Santiago. very close to get to the teleférico, and vitacura, and sanhattan. also free parking

The staff were so incredibly kind and made me feel so at home. The whole place is beautiful - I loved lounging out in the garden and my room was so peaceful and spacious. The place is in a super safe location and walking distance to some great tourist attractions like Sky Costanera & Cerro San Cristobal. I really enjoyed my stay there and would love to stay here again when I return to Santiago.

The staff were very helpful after our luggage was stolen from our car. Warning to other visitors to Valparaiso: thieves know how to open locked cars electronically. Do not leave anything of value in your car if parked on the street.

We love our stay at Hostal del Cerro. Rodrigo gave us great advice on places to go in Santiago and helped make our stay comfortable. I would recommend Hostal del Cerro to anyone traveling to Santiago. The location of the Hostal is also ideal for touring the city.

Great place in a super nice area of Santiago. We arrived in the middle of the night with the warm host still opening up for us. Overall very hospitable and good experience.

Super nice hostel, nice and cozy rooms. Kitchen available as well as nice terace, gym, living room. Owners are super nice, extremely friendly and ready to help at anytime. The location is perfect: in the nice and peaceful Providencia with lots of greens. Cerro San Cristobal is close - so you can go for a walk, also shopping centre and all the services are in the vicinity. Can't stress enough how nice this place is. We stayed one extra night :)
