I don’t like not being able to contact staff when booking

This is a budget motel. It was clean and functional. Own bathroom, kitchen , lounge and a separate bedroom. The price was the cost of a latte above a cabin without toilet, kitchen etc at the motor camp. A fabulous, budget stay!!!!

No plug, no dish cloth ,not enough chairs , needed extra blankets. Not equiped for 4 people.unit very tired…… grounds very scruffy . Office very untidy. Not a good start to our stay.

The updated decor is a downgrade from the online images There is no functional laundry as suggested, there’s one small domestic washing machine and a dryer that’s broken Broken windows And parking a fair way away from the unit Weed filled gardens It’s looking uncared for

We didnt like anything, only there for half an hour and left , pre paid so lost our $. No one there when we arrived, so rung and door to our room was open. Black mold all over the curtains , room smelt bad. Bathroom tap broken. Shower looked moldy. It was cold and didnt feel like the heatpump was going to warm the room up. No one there to talk to so had to leave.

Fantastic location to town, a good play area for children. Spacious parking on site, with easy access to parks. No sound from other units and no road noise in bedrooms. Shower isn't like home but the temputure of the water was fantastic.

The room was warm enough, it was a particularly extreme cold snap in chch. The heatpump was running on high when we arrived and an extra oil column heater provided for one of the rooms. It was a great price point too and the beds were comfy enough for the money paid. Good off St parking

No light in the toilet or the lounge. Only 3 thin towels provided for 4 people. The oil column heater ticked loudly all night long ( although was worth it for the extra warmth)

Lack of ammenities. Lack of heating, it was cold. Lightbulbs required replacement during the stay. No face cloths - hand towels were supplied in its place. No hand soap initially supplied

We took our own food as we do with motels.

I had to clean the toilet bowl before I used it for the first time. It was dirty with a previous occupier's vomit The outside light wasn't working; the lounge centre light wasn't working; the toilet light wasn't working and one of the heat lamps in the bathroom wasn't working

The only good thing was that it was a bed and it was quiet

I had 2x rooms. The first was the one I booked through booking.com. I arrived went to office, very smokey atmosphere, pressed bell and staff arrived from upstairs, still talking on the phone seemed full of the cold. Showed me to the room and told me if any issues to ring phone number posted on office door. I unpacked. It was a cold day and the sliding door was open about 90cm. I closed it but struggled to get it locked, needs work. Now with the door closed and heatpump on the smell of smoke increases and I'm thinking i can't sleep in this.. Linen cupboard has things on floor not folded. Drawers for kitchenette not closed, fridge off and smells of sour milk. Hair on second bed cover. Bedside cupboard had the facing detached and extra light shade sitting on top. Bathroom was dirty beside vanity. Staining on concrete blocks each side of windows. Bathroom fan dusty. Sticking plaster on heatpump. Smoke alarm off it's bracket and in a drawer, a smoke deconstructed in another drawer, butt, tobacco etc. Repacked my car and went to office. Unable to get the phone number to work. Went back inside office and said I can't stay here and handed back the key. Staff did offer to redo room then offered me another. Taking me over to look at it. At least it didn't smell. It was quiet but wasn't overly clean but better than first room. All I needed was a bed. I didn't use any of the facilities. The fridge had dirty shelves and someone else's frozen veges in the freezer box. There's plenty of dust around. The fire procedure is in the pile of books in the corner. The toilet floor was sticky. I had my own sleeping bag pillows and blankets so didn't see how the bedding looked although it was made nice and the headboard was dusty dirty. The extra Linen pillows were on the floor in the cupboard like other room. Black mold on net curtains. Clock had a flat battery. I won't be staying again and will even think twice about booking.

After quite a few hiccups earlier in our evening finding transportation in rural area to motel we finally arrived at the motel just before midnight after having spoken to them about 10.30 pm ,they where more than accommodating, they left the key in the room , the door unlocked, lights on and heaters going, it's snowed the next morning so was grateful for them doing this at that hour of the evening, the room was lovely ,this was our 5th stay at this place over a seven week period, we have stayed in 4 different rooms, this one room three was the best , plenty of coffee,coffee cups , extra warm blankets for the bed , electric blankets on the bed , shower is good pressure and nice and hot .. wonderfull stay enjoyed the short but nice stay so I can not say a bad word about our stay ..

It was close to local restaurant

The room smelt moldy there was mold on the window sills and the bed was two mattresses stacked together. Marks all of the walls didn’t feel comfortable

Was unclean dirty Had mould on wall by bed Shower had dead insects in shower tray Front door could be opened from outside when locked from inside. General very poor condition and not worth price asked for 2 night stay. Left after first night and booked another motel for night 2.

I loved how big the room was and the extra blankets. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Big lovely outdoor area.

Not quite like the brochure. Deferred maintenance: shelf falling off wall (with nails still lodged in end). Needed a clean. Hole in wall taped up (but holes in the tape). No wifi password given (not sure wifi was included). Fridge unplugged with melted icebox puddle for free. Taped up hole in heat pump.

The sofa in one of the rooms has a sharp bit in the sofa seat ,hurts when sat on

Sheets clean and good heating. Old run down oven .pillow smelled when l removed the pillowcase pillow was stained and old coffee so old it was hard in packet no salt , shower was dirty, curtain in kitchen torn and dirty. Outside laundry was so horrible l couldn't wash anything . Price very cheap but next time l will take my own pillow and coffee it was well heated which was it plus

Awesome service even after hours answering questions... great studio, comfy as, plus the lady had put the heater on for us because it was a cold windy rainy night...

Convenient location We have stayed there in the past and though we knew the accommodation was old in the past it had been properly maintained and was spotless

The property needs a good clean, curtains that don’t hang properly and have holes from cigarette burns need replacing We requested non smoking - but unit smelt of smoke Toilet needs replacing Guttering clogged and over flowing Would not stay again.

Lounge/dining furniture. Sofa and chair in lounge area were more like something you'd find at a bus stop. About 1cm of padding. Door lock was faulty. When opened, you had to fiddle around with the door knob to get the catch to pop out so the door would close. If exiting when the door was locked, the door lock often didn't unsnib itself, resulting in locking myself out accidentally twice! Curtains hanging off rails. Rusty shower tray very cheap, nasty and ugly repair to wall in toilet.

Location was where we needed to be.

The price of the room was on the low side and for that you can look past the dated decor and appliances, if it was clean and comfortable. It was not up to a basic standard of clean for a motel.

The location was perfect for us we didn’t need breakfast

Unit was a good size. Beds were comfortable. Had a full size oven.

The sofa and chair in the unit were very basic and uncomfortable, like sitting on a slab of wood.

The property was old. It was very dysfunctional. There wasn’t any parking apart from a long way from our unit. We didn’t end up staying there. We went inside and left waste of money. Waste of time.

It’s getting tired and needs updating and modernising. Especially the bathrooms. Need comfortable sofas.

Location. Bed was surprisingly comfortable and the shower, despite its appearance was OK.

Very run down, only one dining chair. No kitchen sink, only the handbasin in the bathroom. Sofa was worn out and very uncomfortable. Unit was as clean as could be expected.

The staff is very helpful and welcoming.I travel alot and this is one of the best places to stay to relax and enjoy.

It was somewhat tired. The sofa bed in our room had no mattress and we had requested 2 beds. We were given another room but with only a double bed. 2 single females.

The staff member I spoke withe barely spoke English and could not help me with my problem at all.

This motel is in a good spot, handy to Rangiora restuarants and shops. Warm unit.

The room had no character, nothing on the walls. It could have had a coffee table, the lounge room was large but empty. The crockery and cutlery looked like they were bought from a second hand shop, nothing matched. Very disappointing.

It was comfortable and nice and warm and quiet, had everything we needed and an excellent price. Nice and central for us

The couch is starting to come appart at the back and there were people having a few drinks in the garage behind our designated carport, this didn’t bother us and they were quiet but as we drove into our carport one of the group flipped us the bird before shutting the garage. A bit unnecessary to make that gesture but I certainly wouldn’t judge this place based on one rude person who was probably not associated to the owners who were lovely and very helpful when we discovered we had left a jacket behind. He made sure we got it back and we are very thankful🥰

It's close to the town centre.

This is the worst accommodation I have stayed in anywhere in the world. There is such a difference between what is advertised on Booking.com and the actual state of the motel that I took the operators to the Disputes Tribunal for a refund. I received a settlement of around 50% of what I paid. The Rangiora Lodge Motel’s website, which links to Booking.com, and the photos for the motel on Booking.com contain misleading information including: - The owners are not ‘Sam and Max’ - these are the previous owners. Public records confirm the motel is currently operated by Jatin Chopra and Deepak Sharma, - The photos (motel website & Booking.com amongst others) show different fittings and furniture that are of a much higher quality than those actually provided, the photos also show well maintained grounds when in reality the grounds are in poor condition - the misleading photos appear to be from 2016 posted by the previous owners on Facebook, - The rooms are not ‘well appointed’ - the fittings, furniture and kitchen items are extremely basic, - Instead of the couches shown on the websites there are barely padded, very uncomfortable, waiting room benches, - Both the motel website & Booking.com state there was Sky/satellite channels - there only appeared to be terrestrial freeview, - The TV did not work and when I requested something be done, nothing was done to remedy this. I spoke to some other guests who confirmed their rooms were just as bad, including poor cleanliness. When checking out I said I wanted a part refund due to the issues outlined above and asked to speak to the owners. I was told I had to email Booking.com. They ignored all communications from me via this and other channels. Booking.com also sought a response from the motel but also received no response.

Location was great. Close to town center and restaurants.

When we first entered the room it stunk. Had to open the doors to try to air it out. Unit was very dirty. Bathroom was appalling. I wiped a small ledge and it was filthy. There is hair stuck to the front of the toilet and the walls. There looked like urine marks down the front of the toilet. Water marks down the walls. Dirt built up in corners. We were only given 1 shower towel each and 1 hand towel. No facecoths .... no dishcloth or teatowel. Thr hot tap is broken and moves. The fridge had mould inside. Bed had the roll together thing happening. The front reception area looks more like a messy storage room. The whole complex is very run down and out dated. This is a very sub standard motel. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Not a lot really. Cutlery draw & draws in the kitchen were dirty. Outside the unit there was a lot of weeds very un kept. The seating in the living area was very uncomfortable but was clean. Bed was very comfortable & clean. The whole place could do with a makeover.

Receptionist on the phone when I arrived and still continued on call whilst showing me the room and answering my questions. Very rude! Very tired decor Double bed with a single electric blanket which wasn’t even plugged in! The room smelt VERY damp which was unpleasant Toiletries in bathroom or lack of. No body wash or hair conditioner and only just enough shampoo for one wash. Due to the dampness the toilet paper was also damp. Single bed had an electric blanket which when I plugged in and turned on did not work😕

Place seemed a bit run down and was missing some essentials e.g. soap in the bathroom and no teatowel put out. Random food and clothing items left in the room from previous visitors. Mould on the net curtains.
