This is a well appointed guest house - the owner has put considerable effort into the design and decor. It is spotlessly clean and the welcome was great. Although the initial booking says check in 12.00-15.00 - it was very easy to discuss and obtain a later one. Host very responsive.

Breakfast is quite late - 8.45 and did not fit our walking plans so we opted out - but by all accounts breakfast would have been fabulous and it was a shame to miss it.

We had a lovely stay here. We were welcomed by Martin and Maxine, the owner of this guest house. She had decorated it with passion and love for what she does. She makes a wonderful breakfast, cooked to your liking. The guest house is positioned near all the shops, restaurant, beach and fun park. We had a good nights sleep. The room was quiet. Great place to stay. Thank you Maxine for letting us stay at your guest house.

Room 5 had a lovely seating area in the bay window, where we could people watch. Beds were very comfy and there are lots of little touches such as tea making facilities, cold water, emergency toiletries. Breakfast was excellent.. we had the cooked breakfast. Location is just a minute from the pavilion and beach. Great views from room of Mondays fireworks in August

Parking is difficult. We were lucky and found a place outside, and with a disabled badge you could park free. We were told of a cheap parking lot over the bridge. Just FYI there are lots of stairs.

Room sizes were bijou. Bathroom facilities were difficult to manage and manouvre in. In one room the shower became unussable.The other room at the top of the guesthouse had to use a shower three floors down. Sink unussable due to size and located in the toilet cistern. Stair lighting dangerous. House rules made relaxing impossible. The landladies colourful language and manner was unprofessional. Breakfast very limited choice of two options. on second day of my visit left early and had breakfast elsewhere.

We loved the location of the guest house. The interior of it was absolutely amazing, very quirky and with a lot of personality. The view from the window was great, you could see all the most popular attractions and the ocean.

The mattress wasn't the best but we liked the pillows and sheets so we slept through the night just fine!

Maxine is an excellent host — full of fun and incredibly welcoming. All the rooms are brilliantly decorated with vintage pieces and art that have been perfectly curated. There’s also some wonderful and very imaginative artwork incorporating fire extinguishers! It’s clear that a huge amount of thought and love has gone into this B&B. Breakfast was great fun, laughing and joking with staff and other guests. The vegan and gluten-free options were excellent too. Great value and a really memorable place to stay. Couldn’t recommend it more highly :)

The quirkiness of all of the decor. Everywhere you looked there was something interesting 🥰 Maxine made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through the door.

Wie gebucht, hatte ich ein kleines Einzelzimmer Richtung Promenade und Strand. Das Zimmer war mit allem ausgestattet, mas man braucht und war gemütlich. Das Bad ist natürlich nicht groß, aber auch da hat es an nichts gefehlt und es hat alles funktioniert. Checkin war super freundlich. Mir wurde alles erklärt und gezeigt und es gab auch Tips für die Restaurants. Das Frühstück war gut, ich habe mich für Früchte mit Joghurt entschieden. Dazu gab es dann noch Toast mit Butte und Marmelade, wenn man wollte. Das Personal war super lieb und freundlich, ich habe mich wohl gefühlt. Das Gästehaus liegt direkt am Hafen und am Strand. Und auch in die Stadt oder zum Bahnhof sind es nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Also perfekt, wenn man ohne Auto unterwegs ist.

Ein paar Gegenstände weniger im Zimmer wären gut, da sie teilweise nur unnötig Platz wegnehmen. Aber auch das ist nur mein persönlicher Geschmack. Das ganze Haus ist mit so vielen Details eingerichtet, dass es zum Konzept passt.

Breakfast was a bit awkward. A silent room (pleeeease put on some soft music). Having to sit while someone made your toast. Needing to make a breakfast selection the day before. Just felt a bit too formal for the accomodation.

Breakfast was very good as was the location. The hotel has very original decor and Maxine the owner has a fantastic imagination as well as being a very friendly host. Staff were friendly and efficient and overall we were meant to feel that nothing was too much trouble.

Parking could have been an issue but Maxine produced a permit to cover a specific area so we were soon sorted.

Half of the bed/mattress was broken making the sleep very uncomfortable. Water pressure in the shower was so low (close to non-existing) that it was impossible to wash hair. There were so many artefacts in the room that there was no space for luggage. Breakfast was not good

The very small refrigerator in the room did not keep the milk fresh Continental breakfast could have been better, fruit and yogurt to start very nice but the poached eggs was ruined by serving only one piece of toast 10 mins before the eggs on a separate plate,

Die Lage ist wirklich hervorragend. Gleich am Strand und viele gute Pubs und Restaurants ums Eck.

Die Zimmerausstattung war teils mangelhaft. Die Zimmertüre war von aussen nicht versperrbar, die Badezimmertür auch nicht verschließbar. Die Dusche lieferte kaum einen vernünftigen Strahl.

Maxine was absolutely lovely and made us feel so at home. The location is perfect, right on the harbour with loads of street parking. We loved the decor - so unique with loads of personal touches and an excellent self-serve bar. Rooms were kitted out with everything you could need! Loved our stay.

What can I say about Maxine and her amazing guesthouse. Our stay was short but wow it was amazing to stay in such a unique environment filled with a treasure trove of memorabilia that sang from the heart for the most lovely host who's goal in life it is to share the love and boy did she do that. We highly recommend The Ocean Guesthouse and will be returning to see Maxine as soon as we can.

Not sure the bathroom was built in accordance with building regulations. It was the size of a cupboard. There was no ventilation. The basin was literally inside the cistern of the loo. Because of the lack of ventilation it meant the smell was very unpleasant both inside the bathroom and outside into the bedroom. The smell really was quite unpleasant throughout the night. The twin beds were very narrow (mattress very good quality though) and I fell out of bed twice scraping my arm on the other bed. The wooden panels on the walls were unfinished too. And the bed sheets had felt tip writing on them. Made the overall feel of the room quite chabby. I tried to see if the room was any cheaper off season but it’s the same price more or less all year (£140). If I had known the state of the bathroom and the width of the beds, I definitely would have not booked this hotel. The high ratings of 8.9 makes me really doubt the value of Booking.com rating generally.

Great B and B. Great location on the Harbour, stones throw from the beach. Host Maxime was a delight and all the staff were great. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked using local produce. I was in room 6 ,large double over looking the harbour. Lovely overnight stay. Will certainly return

Bei der Dame des Hauses sollte man Vorsicht walten lassen...beim Frühstück hatte sie sich verkalkuliert und es waren mehr Gäste als Tische zur selben Zeit. Wir waren eigentlich entspannt und hätten erstmal einen Kaffee auf der Terrasse genommen, das wurde uns allerdings verweigert mit etwas ruppigem Hinweis darauf, dass sie ja gerade so viele Gäste zu bewirten hätte. Als wir dann endlich einen Tisch bekamen wurden wir arg gedrängelt (den Obstsalat hat sie uns dann einfach sang und klanglos unangetastet wieder weggenommen), damit wir ja pünktlich um 10 Uhr(!) auscheken würden. Fanden wir alles bisschen merkwürdig...

All a bit disjointed. First morning breakfast ok. Next morning went down on allocated time and was told cooked breakfast not ready yet 😳 Staff seemed confused in what they were doing. We have been to many bnb in Weymouth for the last 18 years and had great hopes reading the reviews but didn't live up to expectations. Such a shame as an excellent location. We will not be returning to this place.

When I arrived I was told that my shower was out of order due to a guest having to be removed from the property by police the night before (which didn’t make me feel very safe). Instead of being offered an alternative room or a discount I was told that another shower would be available and a bathrobe provided- it turned out however that there were 4 flights of stairs between my room and this shower! Not great news after a hike and in a heatwave. When I raised this I was offered a discount, but the way it was handled felt unprofessional: a) I didn’t need to know about the police matter and b) I’d paid for a private bathroom, so I should have been offered some remedy immediately, rather than having to argue for it.

Room 7 is tiny about 2.4m x 1.6m. The shower and toilet are accessed from a landing used by guests in rooms 8 and 9 so not ensuite or private.

The real hidden gem in Weymouth! This Georgian-style guesthouse is full of character — gilded bird prints, antique frames, gold parrot wall lights, and quirky vintage finds fill every corner. It feels more like staying in a curated antique shop than a hotel, in the best possible way. The breakfast room is just as charming, cozy and full of personality. Huge thanks to Maxine, the owner, for being so warm and welcoming throughout our stay. And the location is unbeatable — Weymouth’s harbor is gorgeous, with colourful houses, bobbing boats, and lovely pubs and chippies right on your doorstep. If you love character over cookie-cutter hotel rooms, book this place!

Lagen op kamer 8 maar geen frigo, geen ventilator, douche met mini waterstraal. Ia absoluut geen 4 sterren. Met moeite 3 sterren

It's an interesting, historic building in an amazing location with great views. While the facilities are not great, the quirkiness and coziness are part of the charm.

I can accept the lack of an ensuite bathroom, but the shower was cold. The service should have been more helpful and flexible. Having to check in by 7pm was very limiting, while not being able to get any kind of breakfast (even continental) before 8.45 was really frustrating, as I had to leave by 8am (and had paid for breakfast). Pity this isn't clearer. I'm sure it would have been fine if I'd been on holiday and wanted a leisurely Sunday morning, not attending a sailing event.

Værelserne er meget små, knapt med plads til to store kufferter og kun mulighed for at sidde i sengene. Badeværelset var lillebitte med håndvask i toilettet. Værelserne kan ikke låses, så man må efterlade sine ting på et ulåst værelse når man går ud i byen. Begrænset udbud til morgenmad. Tjekindtiden blev ændret under et døgn før ankomst, så vi skulle være der flere timer før end beregnet.

From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home not just welcomed as guests, but genuinely cared for. There’s something so rare and special about meeting someone who radiates warmth, kindness, and authenticity the way she does. I stayed here with friends for the night, and every single one of us left saying the same thing: Maxine is an absolute gem! She went above and beyond in every possible way, creating such a comfortable, relaxed, and happy atmosphere that we never wanted to leave. You can tell she puts her heart into what she does, and it makes all the difference. The guest house itself was incredible! loved all the different rooms and everywhere you looked there was something cool and artsy, every part of the house tells a story, it was magical! Maxine made the experience truly exceptional. I honestly can’t put into words how much we adored her. She’s the kind of person you meet once and remember forever. If you’re thinking of staying in Weymouth, do yourself a favour and book here. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Very friendly host-Maxine. Bed was super comfy and room needed everything you needed.

The only thing that could have been better was the shower in our room. It took a while to get hot and wasn’t very powerful but we were right at the very top of the building so this may be why.

Lovely, quirky guesthouse with a super friendly and helpful hostess. Perfect location, overlooking the harbour and sea front. We were given the choice of our room, both with lovely views. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Both nights were comfortable and quiet and we had great nights sleep. Maxine was very helpful, offering recommendations of where to eat. The harbourside area is lovely and was right on our doorstep. Get up at first light and watch the fishing boats sailing out to sea at sunrise. Beautiful!

There could be a bit of noise from traffic, but this is a town centre location and is not the fault of the Guesthouse. It really wasn't that bad though.

Our host Maxine was incredible! Super friendly, enthusiastic, down to earth and very knowledgeable! Breakfast was superb - and with a sea view as we sat right at the very front 😀 We were all chatting over breakfast, lots of laughs and humour! I came home after a night out in weymouth, Maxine was still pottering around, tidying etc Clear pride in what she does! Room was spotless, awesomley decorated and we had a harbour view! Amazing! Whole B&B is full of character - we loved it! Never ever stayed anywhere quite like this or met such an incredible host! We shall return!

Perfect Location .

Situated with a view of Weymouth Bay in the front and The Harbour at the back! Walking distance to everything else Weymouth has to offer!

First of all, the hotel is beautifully and distinctively decorated, very true to its name, with many ocean-inspired elements throughout. It is clear that the host has great taste and a strong artistic sensibility. The location is also absolutely excellent, right next to River Bay. Thanks to the host’s thoughtful arrangement, I was given a room on a higher floor, with a wide view, warm sunlight, and even a panoramic view of River Bay. The host was extremely warm, welcoming, thoughtful, and attentive. Highly recommended!

I stayed here with my family over the weekend. The location is perfect, really central, and we especially enjoyed sitting out on the terrace overlooking the harbour. Utterly charming!

We visited Weymouth for a party in the depths of winter; room was nice and warm. Room size typical for Guest Houses and fine for our two night stay. The décor feels like a labour of love with a multitude of features, each with their own history; it's quite overwhelming however and might not be to everyone's taste. We really liked it and if you can get the Hostess's attention, she will explain the history/meaning/story behind each. She also has a firm grasp of the English language, particularly some of the more colourful words; we were both in stiches and if you've got an hour to waste at the honesty bar, you'll not be bored. The whole of the interior is spotless; can't understand how it's kept that clean, but it is. We had breakfast on one of the days of our stay and it was perfect; nice size, great food, warm plate... Heaven! Bed the most comfy I've been in for a long time; we slept like logs until the alarm went off... Can't ask for more than that can you? Our hostess had actual milk ready for us on arrival and a mini fridge in the room to keep it cold.. How long is it since you had that in a hotel??? The location is fantastic, we'll go again and recommend it to you.

Public spaces in Guest House could be nippy in January but no problem to us.

We had a wonderful time at the Ocean Guesthouse. The host Maxine was kind and helpful and thought of everything we may need. Location was great

15 minute wait before host appeared to greet us. Host insisted room key was given and small fridge was in room - when challenged and keys or fridge weren't provided no apology. Appreciate its a listed building so 10 minute wait for hot water is understandable but shower pressure was non existent and half used shower gel bottle provided by the host. No shampoo/conditioner/complementary biscuits provided which should come as standard. Radiator hot at the top not bottom. Breakfast was awful we were the later sitting tea was cold only offered a standard fried breakfast never asked which choice of eggs would we like, rock hard butter the only warm item on the plate were the baked beans, suggesting food had been precooked and left to sit around. So disappointed after reading previous reviews. For £120 left feeling over priced for little being offered.

The property is beautifully decorated throughout with each room having a unique design. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are like new. The owner met us upon arrival and was incredibly friendly….. breakfast the next morning was freshly prepared with good quality ingredients and really tasty. I would highly recommend Ocean Guest House.

Without a shadow of doubt the best guest house we've ever stayed at! Greeted with a lovely, warm welcome from the fabulous owner, Maxine, received a parking permit for the on street parking opposite so no parking charge. Entered our spotlessly clean room and were blown away by the quirky decor, everywhere you look there's something interesting. The room had everything we needed and more, even a box of things people often forget, shower gel, toothpaste etc. Spent the night in what was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Woke to a delicious full English breakfast, fresh orange juice and a pot of tea. All in all, pretty damn perfect, could not find fault in anything and can not wait to return ❤️

Quirky and comfortable guesthouse near the harbour in Weymouth. The location was fabulous and Maxine was a great host. I had a lovely beach view from my room, the bed was comfy and the cooked breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on the deck outback with Tinkerbell the toy poodle sitting on my lap after breakfast. Highly recommended!
