Alexandra Hotel

The hotel was in a prime location with the beachfront just yards from your door. I loved getting up early in the morning for a stroll. The car park is approximately 5 minutes away and I always managed to get a space and the rates were reasonable. All the staff are friendly and the bar/breakfast room was a nice touch as was the seating area outside. I had a pizza and countless cold drinks so it was really convenient for grabbing a snack or beverage. The breakfast was an additional charge but worth it as it had a really good selection and was quality produce. My attic room was a good size with two windows looking directly out to the beach/sea and was clean and tidy. Plus the rate was reasonable given the proximity to the town its amenities and overall I really enjoyed my stay

My stay at the Alexandra coincided with the recent heatwave and having a room in the eaves with no aircon meant it was unbearably hot. Not the fault of the hotel as the weather has been unprecedented and I knew when i booked they didn't have aircon which you can't reasonably expect in a small hotel. If you're thinking of staying in the heart of the summer maybe consider a room on the ground floor.

The staff were friendly and it was conveniently placed on the seafront.

The carpet in the room was marked to a considerable level. The sash windows were filthy, the hotel next door had much cleaner windows so there really wasn’t any excuse. The beds were uncomfortable and the noise from the organ music from the merry go round was right up till 9.30/10pm meant we couldn’t sleep well either night. The price we paid was expensive relative to other hotels we had stayed in and then on top, we had to pay for continental breakfast which wasn’t included in the price we paid.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The position of the hotel was ideal.

As we booked theough booking.com we weren't allowed to.prebook parking.

The location of the hotel, right opposite the beach, was the main reason for choosing the hotel. Weymouth itself was lovely with a beautiful, sandy beach. It was also very clean. I plan to visit again.

The hotel would benefit from an upgrade/Refurb.

The location was great, on the beachfront, especially for families since the rides and arcade are in that part of the beach. The staff was really helpful and friendly.

The room definitely requires renovation, there is no air-condition, carpets are old and dusty. Windows are not enough to cool the room and fan is really noisy and dust from the room fill the air when we open the fan. It was really hard to sleep in the room. If you have mobility issues, it might be hard to climb the chairs.

It was located on the seafront and near all the sights which was great for us.

The furnishings and decoration in the room could do with a refresh but was fine for us.

The parking was poor because we booked through booking.com, and we were not to receive onsite parking or a permit. Even on times, there was a car space free!!! We were offered a nearby car park with a 75% discount when we scanned a QR code. When we departed the car park, no discount was accepted, and we had to pay 75 pounds for 3 nights' stay.

Bedroom was very tired and didn’t feel clean - stained carpet, dust and biscuit crumbs on windowsill, mouldy slip mat in shower. Room dated and in need of decoration.

Top class hotel. Very Clean and helpful friendly staff. Great to have a proper bar on the premises serving a proper pint not cans of beer that we've had in many other b and b's. Beds are very comfortable,we had a large room with tea and coffee and ,shower, shampoo and soap cleaner all provided. Best shower we've had in and b and b. Excellent location near to town and pubs. Downsides are ;parking,we were lucky to get a spot with permit provided by the hotel although this is the same for all hotels in the area. We had a large room but our son and partner had a very small room that he said got very hot. Continental breakfast at extra charge but we had a fry up at Wetherspoon's round the corner. Would have been great to have more options available at breakfast, not just continental. The room was clean and comfortable but the carpet looked tired and stained which let it down a little (hence the score of 8).

We booked a stay last minute and picked the Alexandra Hotel due to the reviews and the price. The location is excellent, you are right by the beach, entertainment, restaurants and shops, all within a minutes walk. The staff were really friendly and helpful. For the price, it definitely scores a 5* review.

The location was exceptional . You can enjoy the beach like you live in a sea front holdiay home. easy access to all restaurants.

I wish they can offer more competitive prices. you need to invest a lot for the location .

1) refused to offer parking despite offering to pay 2) gave erroneous information on local parking rules 3) the breakfast was very basic without any option to add. Would be better not to offer and direct customers to one of the many good cafes

The staff were super helpful and friendly. Functional bar, dining, and reception set up. Nice area in front of the hotel to sit, have a cuppa and watch the world go by. Parking at the rear of the hotel was very useful and well managed.

No real dislikes, apart from the damn Seagulls at 4am, but that is not down to the hotel.

Didn’t dislike, but it’s very tired looking. Flaking paint everywhere and views from back of property are poor. Price was okay considering but money needs to be spent paint some rooms and also the fro t of the hotel. Looking a bit scrappy.

The location was perfect, everything was on the doorstep! Beach, fairground, harbour and restaurants less than 5 minutes walk away! The staff were very friendly and as a single mum offered to take the case to my room and bring it down, without me even asking! These little things mean a lot! There were also.games to borrow which my daughter enjoyed!

Lovely hotel in great location right on the seafront. Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had a family room which was spotlessly clean but did look like it needed a lick of paint on the ceiling and carpet had a few stains. Did not take up the option of the continental breakfast so unable to comment on food. Will definitely return in the future and would highly recommend this hotel

Booked as a last minute idea while in Weymouth for a day trip and couldn't be bothered to drive 4 hours home. extremely comfortable beds, honestly, one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Staff were incredibly welcoming and cheerful.

The carpet was wet and room wasnt very clean.

It was the only hotel that had the option of putting a cot in the room for my little one which made it possible to stay overnight. They also went and borrowed a highchair from another close hotel knowing we had a baby which is amazing.

The curtains weren’t blackout and in the summer it’s light by 4.30/5 am so with a baby we had a very early wake up call ! Also the choice of breakfast was lovely and tasty my partner was disappointed there was no cooked breakfast.

Ein kleines Hotel an bester Lage mit sehr viel Charme. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war gross und gut ausgestattet. Auch das Badezimmer und die Dusche waren angenehm gross.

Location was great and we had a sea facing room.

The welcome was short. Room was a bit cramped for four of us. We had to climb over the beds to be able to partially open the cupboard door. Room was not properly cleaned, carpets has stains and toilet bowl was dirty. You could hear sounds from the other rooms. The booking confirmation email said that breakfast (continental) was 4.95 pounds per person but at the hotel were informed that we had to pay 6.95 per person as they were in the process of revising rates. We were honestly disappointed given the reviews we had read prior to booking.

3rd annual visit for the Wessex Folk Festival. In the right place just off seafront. Room ideal with good clean facilities, Serviced properly daily. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast gone up in price but good value. Will return !!

Great hotel in a good location for the beach and the shops . Quiet hotel with a good range of rooms available , nice and clean and surprisingly quiet for its proximity to Weymouth s social scene. The staff are great , nothing is too much trouble and they regularly go out of their way to help people enjoy their stay . With a couple of rooms on the ground floor for less active and charging/ parking for mobility scooters it has everything you need to have a great time

Stayed with family . The room was not worth the price. Although it was advertised as a double room, it was very small. The hotel was also quite noisy at night, with people moving around and constant footsteps in the corridors. I felt very uncomfortable and was unable to sleep properly.

The hotel is located right off Weymouth beach, which is great. However, the rooms and bathrooms were unclean, although serviced daily. We were disappointed to find that the Full English breakfast at £4.95 per person per night, confirmed by the hotel at the time of booking was changed to £6.95 per person per night when we arrived. The reason given to us was simply that they were updating certain costs. If you are a light sleeper, the noise levels from outside can be disturbing, not to mention the very thin walls between rooms, which allow for all kinds of noises to waft through. We're honestly surprised by all the fantastic reviews we read prior to booking this hotel.

Highly recommend this hotel. As always, we had a great stay at the Alexandra Hotel. The staff are friendly and will always try to accommodate any needs, the rooms are comfortable and, although there are no cooked breakfasts, there is a good choice of cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, little pancakes and yoghurt as well as tea, coffee and fruit juice. A big thank you to Steve, Gia, Lorna, Grace, Trevor, Lisa, Nina - and all the staff - for making our stay so enjoyable - hope to see you all again soon! Marion H

We had 3 rooms for a family stay. Everything was brilliant the hotel was so clean. We all had sea view rooms which was lovely. Breakfast was really good and fresh, the bar was well stock and really comfortable seating areas. We will definitely be back. We also left a cuddly which was posted back to us with no problem.

Schönes Zimmer mit direkter Sicht auf den Strand und das Meer. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt.

Die Zimmer sind schon etwas älter und es gab nur ein innenliegendes Badezimmer. Auch waren die Duscharmaturen sehr verkalkt.

Very helpful receptionist, room very tidy, bed really comfy would stay there again. Just one problem we could only stay for one night on friday the 1rst of may and had to vacate on the saturday morning the 2cd of may due to family issues The receptionist at the hotel said we will sort something out with yourselves about a refund for the second night on the saturday. Central to everything in Weymouth

Bedroom could do with a lick of paint and a new carpet but this is merely an observation.

We only stayed for a night and wish we’d booked for longer. If you book directly with the hotel, you’ll get a parking space reserved in the car park which eliminates the hassle of finding parking. All the staff we met were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, had everything we needed and the bed was nice and comfy. I did worry about road/beach front noise but that was instantly sorted by the thickest, best quality curtains I’ve ever seen. Breakfast was lovely, perfect set up for the day. We will be back whenever we’re in the area.

The bed wasn't very comfortable with it creaking and bouncing every time we moved. I know it's the seaside but the windows were filthy with seagull poo all over them.
