Our last night in Newfoundland was spent at the Best Western. We dropped off our rental car and caught the shuttle to the hotel. Beautifully decorated lobby and friendly check in staff. Our room and bathroom were quite large, bed was comfy and hotel was very quiet. Due to an early flight we didn’t get to try out the restaurant. Took the shuttle back to the airport and would definitely stay at the Best Western again.

Hotel was very clean. Staff were friendly and accomodating. I traveled with 4 kids and the pool was a big hit. The rooms were quiet and comfortable and cleaned well.

The price! I understand that our economy is dealing with inflation, but to pay almost $400 a night was very excessive to me. Unfortunately, I didn't have much of a choice because so many other hotels were booked up. With 4 kids, a pool is a necessity to tire them out before bed, but paying so much a night for one was difficult. For that price, I expected a complimentary breakfast, but that wasn't offered either.

1. The pool floor felt slimy. Slipping in the pool with my 10 month old. 2. The pool room is so hot, could not be there comfortably as the temperature was ridiculously high. 3. The tv was so outdated, could not watch anything. So annoying with small children. 4. There was no fan in the bathroom.

The room was very nice.

The whirlpool was out of order. The water was hot but the jets did not work and that was the main reason we chose this location, in order to relax after a long day of walking.

Very handy location if you have an early flight. Also, they offer a free shuttle 24/7. There's a nice outdoor area and restaurant.

A lot of the skirting boards were missing around the room for some reason. Not a good look when you've paid so much money! However, the receptionist dealt with us swiftly and efficiently.

Stayed one night, the evening before early flight out. 5 minute drive to the car rental parking, located right on the edge of the airport. Clean room, friendly staff. Restaurant off the lobby area. AC unit was a bit odd, lower the temperature but the number on the display never changed and didn't turn off by itself. Large bathroom.

William and Charmaine made friends with everyone in our group but William was outstanding helpful as far as manning the toaster to help move everyone along and get through breakfast in a timely fashion. Everyone was super friendly helpful .

Everything was fantastic and went so smoothly! The beds were comfortable, room was clean. Amenities were as expected from the website. Excellent layout. Pool was wonderful and very clean. Staff were spectacular!! We had dinner and breakfast there and all family.members enjoyed their meals! Will recommend and definitely plan to stay again!

C'était très bien, personnel très gentil. Nous étions bien situé au premier niveau car nous avions un jeune chiot avec nous. Le restaurant était facile d'accès.

Il serait apprécié d'avoir accès à des bouteilles d'eau plate et d'eau pétillante de haute qualité et surtout dans des bouteilles en vitre ( pas de plastique). En avoir a disposition au front desk et aussi au bar en tout temps et en avoir déjà 2 de chaque dans la chambre dès l'arrivée serait une surprise agréable. Aussi avoir une petite bouilloire en acier inoxydable dans la chambre pour pouvoir se faire du thé vert de qualité. Tout ceci pour nous ferait rehausser vos résultats d'appréciation d'un bon niveau. Merci, Bernard et Chantal.

Nous avons réservé la suite lit king et c'est vraiment merveilleux ! Beaucoup d'espace et de fauteuil. Nous avons relaxé une journée complète avant de quitter par avion et vraiment nous avons adoré. Le lit est très douillet et confortable. Nous avons avons rapporté notre véhicule a l'aéroport et revenu a pied en quelques minutes. La navette était très rapide. Je recommande vraiment !

Convenient as we were flying out quite early.

When you have to have the TV volume turned way up because of the noise from the air conditioning I really does not factor into a pleasant, relaxed environment.

Awesome location. Great restaurant. Amazing staff. Very clean. Nice and quiet for a good night’s sleep. Frequent shuttle to the airport makes it very convenient.

The pool was over run by unsupervised children…27 at one point with 5 adults present. It looked like a party was happening. One dad pulled a little boy out of the deep end. We left after 5 minutes of mayhem.

Minutes from the airport, super easy to find and check in after a late arrival. Unless you want to eat at Amelia’s in house there wasn’t tons nearby, but you don’t book a hotel airport for that. A good Best Western, nothing bad but there are other places to stay for a foodie or entertainment type stay. We did a late night snack at Amelia’s on our second night. There was a story that the printer didn’t work in the kitchen as it took over an hour for nachos, but we watched others get apps and mains and drinks which they ordered after we did. I suspect a forgotten order.

Amazing location next to the airport for an early flight; lovely restaurant and coffee bar - warm ambience upon entering. It is my go-to place to stay when transiting through St John’s. Nicest BW hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The hotel was beautiful! It felt like we were walking into a resort. The coffee shop was wonderful! The rooms were large and beautiful!

The pool wasn’t heated, which was a big disappointment as we booked this hotel to take our baby swimming and she cried as soon as her toes hit the water! It was really cold.

A modern, comfortable, well-maintained hotel close to the airport, although there was no aircraft noise. My room was clean, large and well-equipped. The hotel has a restaurant with a good choice of evening meals, plus a bar. There was also a food coutner that served breakast goodies at a charge if you don't feel like making the one minute drive to Tim Hortons The free shuttle service appeared at the terminal (at Departure Door 2) a few minutes after I phoned the hotel, even though it was past midnight. It was also avaiable on demand from the hotel back to the airport later the same day. There were plenty of free parking spaces - but remember to register your registration plate at reception. Overall, a very good place to stay.

The staff is lovely, and I appreciate how nice the place is. We usually go there for the pool, jacuzzi, and slide, since my autistic 5-year-old really enjoys them. We usually leave and head home after 10 p.m., since we live in the city.

I’ve stayed at this Best Western before and usually had good experiences, but this visit was extremely disappointing. At the pool, a man screamed at me, blaming me for not watching a child who wasn’t mine. His son got hurt after going down the slide before another child had exited—something that could have been avoided if he was paying attention. Meanwhile, other parents were on their phones, yet I was singled out and even assumed responsible simply because the child was Black. Then, a woman accused my son of pulling down her daughter’s bathing suit, which was completely false. I watched closely—her daughters were actually trying to push my son down the stairs and hold him on the platform while he was trying to go down the slide. I had to tell them not to touch him because he could have been seriously hurt. Despite this, she tried to paint my son as the aggressor while presenting her kids as victims. She also repeatedly went to the front desk, complaining and looking for any reason to have us removed, even when nothing was happening. This reflects a bigger issue—Black children are often unfairly labeled as aggressive or predatory. We’ve seen this before, like the Central Park case where Black kids were falsely accused. It’s a harmful pattern that continues Later, my son had an accident and peed in the pool. I was mortified and apologized, but was told we shouldn’t have been there at all. This is not Jim Crow. You cannot tell Black people where they can and cannot go. I paid to be there, just like everyone else, and my child deserves to enjoy these spaces too. Instead of a welcoming environment, this turned into a racist and hostile experience. I paid around $260 for a stay that left me feeling targeted, disrespected, and unwelcome.

We booked a room with the best Western with the pool and slide for my daughter‘s eighth birthday to take her best friend and her mom in with us we said from the gecko that there was two adults two kids. They wanted to have a slumber party and a pool party the pool was shut down due to one child being violent. He threw up multiple times in the hot tub the last going off he shut the whole pool and hot tub down and ruined everybody stay by standing on the side of the pool and peeing in it. Nothing was done by the staff multiple complaints were put in and the child was never removed until they had to shut down the whole facility we paid for services we did not get to use. We were at the pool earlier that day we had to leave due to this child came back again after supper to enjoy the pool and again had to leave.

I typically don't take the time to leave reviews unless something went exceptionally well or exceptionally bad and unfortunately this trip was EXCEPTIONALLY BAD. I chose to book a king kitchen suite as this was a multi-day stay. Check-in was quick and easy, the staff at this location are always friendly and helpful. Upon arrival to my room I was perplexed to find that it looked as if the bed had slept in as the pillows and bedding were in disarray. The room had obviously not been cleaned very well as there were bits of trash on the floor (food debris, toenail clippings, etc). I did not make a fuss of this and after a long travel day I just wanted a hot shower. I found the shower to have soap scum, several body hairs and live insects which I had to rinse down the drain (there were more live insects in the shower the next day). After my disappointing shower I door-dashed some food since it was pretty late. Part of the reason for booking a kitchen suite was to have access to dishware and utensils. I grabbed a plate to eat my dinner and found food particles stuck to the plate, I then found that this was the case will all of the plates in the cupboard. I also found every drinking glass to be disgustingly filthy, several of them still had what looked like milk rings in them. Sleep was very difficult to achieve in this room due to the amount of outside noise. There were guests hanging out in the hallways holding loud conversations, unattended children that were actually having a foot race in the hallway until 11:30 PM when I had to yell at them to stop because the front desk attendant did not address the issue, I heard other guests having to yell at these kids as well. To the credit of the helpful night-time front desk attendant, he did attempt to stop the other guests from causing disturbances but the night shift at this location is very understaffed. I've stayed at this location many times and never been completely satisfied with my stay but this stay was absolutely terrible.

Great location, easy to get to, free shuttle from airport, free parking, really clean and lovely establishment, nice employees and comfortable beds.

I didn't like that there was no water supplied for coffee maker or to drink besides tap, there wasn't enough cream or sugar for coffee, there was only one mirror so if someone was using the washroom you couldn't get makeup or get ready, no fan for bathroom. Breakfast wasn't complimentary but the prices for the restaurant weren't bad so.

Beautiful hotel, great staff, and great location. The shuttle to the airport was a nice feature for an early morning flight.

Not that it's in any way the responsibility of the hotel or its staff but there were kids running back and forth the hallway banging on doors all day and most of the evening.

Smoke alarm in my room kept beeping. After 3 attempts to stop it with new batteries I was switched to a different room that didn't have a bathtub. Nothing serious. Overall it was a great stay.

I required a wheelchair (due to a broken leg) and they provided one for my full stay.

My flight got in at 9 am. The staff worked hard to get me in a room. Early check in at 10:30 . I was very thankful. They were very kind. Room was clean. Bed was so comfortable. Hotel is showing age but it's clean. Bathtubs are so so tiny. Need to be changed out & updated. Restaurant served great good. Great place to stay .
