Everything and everyone was great. Our balcony was bigger than our room and the main selling point. All recommendations for places to eat and drink were spot on.

Beautiful property - our room had a sea view and what a view…. We enjoyed every minutes and the fact that even though we did not have a balcony we could use the common terrasse which also has a sea view was the best thing ever! Room/bed was comfortable. A shoutout to Catya - she was always smiling and making sure we were ok and gave us great recommendation for restaurant and activities. Thank you for a great stay!

Der Frühstückskorb war eine Enttäuschung, qualitativ war das Essen gut. Allerdings in einer viel zu kleiner Menge. Der Geruch in den Zimmern war etwas unangenehm. Es roch modrig und nach Schimmel. Insgesamt war das kleine Apartment ungeräumig besonders das Badezimmer

The location, view and staff are fantastic. We had a suite on the upper floor and the balcony is fantastic! I didn't want to leave it! Our breakfast was delightful every morning in the beautiful sunshine as we watched the beach come to life below us! Catia and Michaela were so good to us!

The lady that received us was super nice and gave us a map and the best spots to visit 😁 The room and the view were absolutely beautiful and the complementary coffee was a great surprise too 😁

Sound insulation to the outside. There were parties outside, and even with the door to the balcony closed the music was very loud.

Location was excellent, the room was clean, and staff were very helpful. Typically when you get those 3 things right, hard to go wrong.

Only thing from a room perspective was the lack of a long mirror, that's being quite pedantic but that's because everything else was great.

I don’t think we could have imagined a more special, well-situated, warm accommodation for our first time in Carvoeiro than O Castelo! Minutes to watch to the beach, seconds to excellent restaurants and sweeping cliffside views. The staff is warm, present, and make you feel known and welcomed while you’re there. Above all, highly recommend the very reasonably priced balcony room with the breakfast feast brought each morning in a sweet picnic basket, to be enjoyed looking at the sea. We had a magical time!

Tout était parfait. L’emplacement magnifique sur la baie de Carvoiero, le petit déjeuner en terrasse devant l’océan, la chambre, le personnel adorable et même le stationnement gratuit dans la rue en plein mois d’août (pas toujours à côté de l’hôtel, pas toujours très académique, mais ça passait toujours). Castelo Guest House liegt steil oberhalb des Strandes, unser Zimmer mit riesiger Terrasse bietet einen wundervollen Ausblick, den man nicht so schnell vergisst. Sehr freundliches Personal (Restaurant Empfehlungen abholen!). Unser Zimmer war ausreichend groß, sehr sauber und mit einem sehr schönen Bad. Das Frühstück ist zubuchbar und wird in einem Korb auf das Zimmer gebracht. Unbedingt machen! Uns hat das mit dem herrlichen Ausblick extrem gut gefallen. Parkplätze auf der Straße sind vorhanden. Der Stadtstrand liegt gleich unterhalb des Hotels und hat uns gut gefallen, Liegenservice ist möglich. Man ist dort wirklich im Trubel am Strand, ein Erlebnis. Und auch gleich bei den Geschäften des kleinen Ortes. Alles liegt sehr nah aneinander.

Auch hier gibt es ein Problem mit der eingeschleppten Alge. Der Strand war nur teilweise nutzbar. Aufgrund der Wasserknappheit sind alle Duschen dauerhaft demontiert.

Vi havde den mest fantastiske udsigt fra vores terrasse og værelset var stort og rummeligt. Personalet var meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Et super sted, som vi gerne kommer tilbage til.

Man kunne bestille morgenmad. Det var ikke value for money, men ok.

We loved this place. Our room was clean and well-appointed. The balcony overlooking the beach was amazing. Everyone working there was extremely kind and helpful. We did not take the breakfast but I've heard it's delicious. I highly recommend this spot. It exceeded my expectations.

Beautiful experience. I was so sad to leave. Staff make you feel at home and are very attentive to anything you might need. We actually got the more affordable room with street view but the staff make us feel just as important and cared for. The balcony available for those without one is so nice. My hubby and I sat there every night. One night we requested wine glasses and from then on every day they put new ones in our room. Little things like that are what make a place great. 110% recommend this place to anyone. Stunning views, air conditioning works, comfy beds and nice showers. And always clean. I also loved that it was so close to everything. Easy to pop back in during the day- 5 min walk from beach & town center. Only thing- if noise wakes you bring ear plugs. Sound travels easily in the mornings and we liked to sleep in. But once I wore earplugs I slept like a baby. I would go back to this place in a heartbeat. Looking forward to my next stay! El hotel es muy bonito, decorado con mucho gusto y con unas vistas increíbles del mar. Es muy fácil aparcar en la zona. El personal es muy amable.

Nuestra habitación estaba a pie de calle y sino teníamos las cortinas cerradas cualquiera que pasara por la calle podía ver el interior de la habitación. Además al lado de nuestra habitación estaba la cocina donde preparaban los desayunos por lo que había ruido desde primera hora.. El desayuno del hotel, que pagamos a parte de la habitación, no tiene una buena relación calidad precio.

We were lucky enough to stay at this lovely place for three nights in June. Everything was wonderful! The room and bathroom were great. Our terrace looked over the beach and ocean which was lovely to wake up to and go to sleep to every night. The breakfast delivered to our door each morning was a perfect start to the day and the staff were very helpful with any questions we had and gave us great recommendations. Great location to walk a few minutes into town. Rooms were spotless and great value. Would highly recommend staying here.

Die Unterkunft hatte einen schönen Blick auf die Bucht, war sehr zentral gelegen, eine gute Klimaanlage und gute Betten.

Leider führte direkt vor dem Balkon eine recht befahrene Straße entlang, es waren zu wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten/Schränke im Zimmer.

La chambre était spacieuse, très bien aménagée surtout très spacieuse sans oublier une vue sur l'océan et l'autre côté de la plage. La salle de bains très pratique et j'ai adoré la douche.

Je pense que le petit déjeuner pourrait être amélioré. Savoir la veille ce que l'on va avoir envie de manger dès le matin est compliqué.

Very nice view over the beach from our room and from the breakfast area. Pleasant stay.

We made reservations 10 months in advance. 2 rooms under 1 reservation. When we arrived we were given Room 4 that was adjacent to the reception area. Our other room was on a separate floor. I guess I should have asked them to keep the rooms together but assumed they would since they were under the same reservation. That turned out to be the least of our worries. Our room was very small. No chair. No desk. Just a bed, closet and tiny bathroom (no wider than my stretched out elbows). Worse, when we visited the other room downstairs that our friends had booked, it was twice the size as ours, chair/desk, larger bathroom and much more balcony space. The kicker......it had the exact same nightly rate as our room!!!! So we paid the same rate for half the space and fewer amenities. Also, our balcony had no privacy. It was adjacent to the common area off the reception area that other guests used. None of this was depicted clearly in the photos of their website. After expressing our concerns, and asking for a different room, they indicated they were full. We expressed our displeasure and disappointment, in a calm manner, and they indicated they would work out a way to "compensate us". I felt like this was at least a sign of their willingness to work with us, only to realize their "compensation" was a bottle of inexpensive white wine. Really? That was their idea of compensating us? It was insulting. It truly is a beautiful property with a gorgeous view, but we found their staff misleading, disingenuous and not interested in addressing our concerns.

The staff were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. Such a great location although a bit of a steep walk back from the beach. On road parking worked well too. Beautifully clean room and lovely big bed!

My biggest concern was the lack of privacy on the balcony, each one was just separated by a plant basically. Day one I was sitting in my dressing gown having my breakfast on the balcony, not realising that the adjoining balcony must be the one for those guests who don’t have one. So other people just sat down behind me, it didn’t feel private and felt a bit awkward. As a woman on her own, didn’t feel that comfortable. Felt I had to lock my balcony doors every time I used the bathroom

We absolutely loved our time at Castelo House—the view from our room was stunning, and the front desk staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room itself was spotless, and the breakfast spread was just what we needed to kick off each morning. The neighborhood is packed with fantastic restaurants, but if you’re looking for recommendations, don’t miss Toruga Wine (an easy 10/10) or Tapas da Vila, where we had the best caipirinha and gambas ever.

If I had one tiny suggestion for Castelo House, it’d be to swap out the cleaning product—the Febreze scent was a bit overpowering. Still, aside from that, everything else was absolutely perfect. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful hotel with comfortable and quiet rooms. We had a large balcony with spectacular views of the beach and ocean. This was some of the most outstanding service we have ever received with thoughtful touches. It’s a short walk to the beach or town/ restaurants/shops. We highly recommend!

What a wonderful start to our 2 week visit to Portugal! Amazing guesthouse/views - get a room with a terrace or balcony if possible - we had a huge terrace. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and specifically we spoke with Catia and Rute. Catia helped with restaurants/reservations and our dinners were fabulous. They also recommended and booked a boat tour company to visit the caves and coast, spectacular scenery. We also had a bit of a hiccup when we blew a tire driving around to visit some beaches/viewpoints, and Catia found us a tire company that day so we could get it taken care of. Would only stay here for a return visit!

great location, nice view to beach in Carvoeiro if room has a balcony close to centro where restaurants and shops are located host and staff are helpful place is clean. room is on the smaller side. no place to sit in room except for the bed but why sit inside when you can sit on the balcony which has a lounge chair and 2 chairs table with a great view only issue we have is the shower will leak water through the door every time you take a shower.

The location, the family room was fantastic, the breakfast on the terrace, the friendly and helpful staff especially Rute who made us feel welcome from the very start and provided wonderful recommendations of things to do, restaurants etc.

There is nothing we didn’t like

Great location with view of the water. And walkable to everything. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast boxes were ample and delicious.

Two minor things…balcony doors should have screens as little flying bugs…although harmless…would get in every time going in and out. And after the room was cleaned. Also shower caulk could use better cleaning cleaning or replacing.

Our favorite stay during our 10 day trip to Portugal. The views, the breakfast on the balcony, the ease of parking, the central Location to visit other areas, did I mention the views? Don’t hesitate to stay here.

I've stayed at a pet friendly room, and the lobby counter was literally 20 steps away. It felt intrusive and lend for no privacy. Room: Unfortunately, my room had a broken floor sewage cover, and our stay was completely compromised by the smell of raw sewage. Not pleasant. Breakfast: Excellent romantic set up in the terrace. However, the rations were very small for the price point. 11 Euros per person. Cleanliness: Excellent Price: high end. Mostly paying for location Recommendations 1. Relocation of the reception counter 2. Repair the sewage cover 3. Breakfast portions should be increased 4. Brief the guests on the facilities and services to include WIFI password.

Wonderful hotel right in the center of town. Nice size rooms, staff is great, but its the terrace and the amazing views that will bring me back again!! Breakfast is served on the terrace and is brought in a picnic basket which is a great touch.

This place was so great. The people were super friendly and it wasn't too expensive given that we had a really nice room with a water view. The breakfasts were amazing. I would totally stay there again.

Beautiful and charming location. Stunning view of the beach from the terrace room. We were always looked after and having free parking nearby was a plus for us an if you have a rental. Our receptionist was very sweet. Helped us and always had a smile on her face made the trip very special. We will return just to see her again. Best regards Kaushal

Everything about O Castelo Guest House is, frankly, of the highest quality. From simple things like the quality and comfort of the furniture (the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in), through the location and the view from the room, to the magnificent breakfast which is freshly-prepared to order, delivered to the room and eaten on the balcony with the sound of the sea in your ears, it will be difficult to better what that small team of wonderful people deliver day in, day out. They are just so helpful, friendly and supportive. The location of the Guest House - halfway up a fairly steep hill, albeit overlooking the beach and the sea - dictates that a certain level of fitness is required to access it (unless you have a car, for which street parking is available), but don't let that put you off. It is WELL worth that climb. One of the best stays we have had in Portugal, in over 30 years of travelling to The Algarve, and we will definitely be going back again. Just book early to avoid disappointment as they fill up quickly - but not before me!

Outstanding View, Central Location, Fantastic Service

We enjoyed 3 nights in a room with a small balcony and sea view and found it to be clean and comfortable. It was a short walk into the town where we enjoyed several lovely meals and also a short walk to the boardwalk along the coast. A highlight was a choice of breakfast menus which were delivered to the door in a basket and set up on the balcony by a friendly member of staff

This hotel is clean, comfortable, with the best view and awesome breakfast. The staff is awesome. This is one of my favorite small hotels.

Everything was fantastic for when we were there (March in two different years). But I’m not sure street parking would always work in the summer for people with cars. It was fine in the shoulder season.

One downside was our room (5) being right by reception with what felt like no soundproofing so you can hear every word there. Not an issue at night though.

Great location close to everything we needed. Great views and breakfast was tasty. Staff was awesome. Was able to park in front of hotel. They even gave me a blanket for my little dog to use. Would stay again for sure.
