Freundliches Personal.
Preis/Leistung eine Katastrophe. Lobby, Teppich und Zimmer sehr abgeranzt. Sauberkeit geht so.
Best breakfast ever!
Breakfast average at best, all the staff however were friendly and efficient
Completely overpriced, very average hotel, room large but shabby. Large gap over bathroom window where you could see brick. No towels in room so had to ask for them. Very poor quality meal in the bar attached to hotel, again overpriced but did have a good selection of drinks and the staff pleasant
Broadford Hotel Skye 22nd May 2026 £381 per night AWFUL
Everything was perfect!

The staff was super nice and helpful
I would have expected some good toiletries given the fact that I paid 400€ per night, probably the most expensive hotel I’ve ever been to, and I travel a lot
Location
We had 2 rooms, instead of giving us rooms close to each other , our rooms were in different floors.
First trip to the Isle of Skye in almost a year, the Broadford Hotel looks rather tired both inside and out. Dinner wasn’t a great experience, a long wait for both our first and second courses to arrive although the food was relatively good when it finally arrived, found the General Manager in the Waistcoat rather smarmy and incredibly overbearing hence the 2 star review, the other server was extremely pleasant though. Beautiful views across the bay, certainly the highlight.
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, great dinning room. Good food for evening meal
Breakfast was not great, bacon needed an angle grinder to cut

We enjoyed the food in the hotel. We had dinner one evening and breakfast on two mornings. The breakfast in particular was very good.
When we arrived at 3pm, the check in start time, there was no one around to welcome us and give us our room keys. Eventually a girl who worked in the restaurant came to help us but it clearly not her job. We didn't like the 12.5% service charge for our dinner in the restaurant.
Hotel has a unique atmosphere, very clean and old stylish. Staff very helpful and always smiling.
Just that we looked for a room with our son and we could only get 2 double rooms. That way we payed quite a lot
This was a great hotel with incredible rooms, friendly staff and a lovely location. I'd definitely stay here again if I ever traveled back to Isle of Skye!
Location and look of the Accommodation
2 rooms, 2 TVs 1 remote.. There was someone in the room next to us listening to sports coverage in really loud Arabic late at night. It was intolerable.
Easy to find this hotel and great location in the middle of the island. The cottage for a family is great sized, and rooms are clean. We didn't try the breakfast, but there are many restaurants nearby.
We arrived a bit later long driving to get there. The hotel restaurant closed a bit earlier for dinner than other local options. We had to drive out again to find a local restaurant for dinner.
The staff was super helpful, the beds were very comfy and the showers were sublime.
Nothing
Water in the room Towels were fluffy and fresh Bright and airy
for the cost breakfast should be included - it is for booking direct I believe Later breakfast at weekend for park runners No separate shower which was a challenge with my damaged knee Expensive for what it was but the whole of Skye is expensive at this time of year

Super nettes Personal. Vom Frühstückstisch wunderschöner Blick aufs Meer 😊
It was clean and homely feeling!
There wasn’t anything to dislike.
Lovely hotel, very clean & lovely, helpful staff. Food was excellent, if a little pricey.
We had booked through Booking.com for 3 nights only to be told that we would have to change rooms after 2 nights as room we were in had been previously booked. Not exactly happy about having to move but other room was equally good.
Had a walk in Saturday evening dinner . Simple menu , staff were very friendly and attentive . Good flavours , and reasonably priced. Can recommend Cullen skink , steak and fish course. View across the bay is worth the visit . Warm and comfortable dinning room. Would return.
lovely staff, spacious quiet room, the perfect spot to roam around the isle of skye
WiFi instable, especially when heavy weather hits, made planing a little bit of a gamble
This hotel is disgusting and certainly in my opinion is less than a 1 Star rating. I would rate it as Minus 10. We stayed at this hotel in June 2026. I can't believe I paid $654.00 Canadian per night for a total of $1308.00 Canadian for 2 nights. It wasn't even worth $25 per night. Firstly, the room was not cleaned after our first night. Towels were still on the floor. Sink was not cleaned. The rug is totally disgusting in the whole room with stains and dirt. Shower stall had mold in it and was dirty and looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Bed skirt was all frayed and shredded. Water cups were not replaced after use. The phone did not work. I could go on but I think management really needs to review the state of the rooms and the cleanliness of the rooms. Very very disappointed with this hotel.
Far too expensive for at three star hotel
Overall experience disappointing food very average not good value for money. At times limited staff especially at breakfast poor woman was completely run off her feet! We were in the Bonnie Lodge which had only recently opened all very new & comfortable. The main hotel looked a little tired staff were all very friendly.
Breakfast was excellent staff were friendly and just loved the hotel
All was good
My husband and I recently stayed at the Broadford Hotel for two nights, as part of a wider break in the Highlands, and it was a highlight of our trip! We're Scottish but had never been to Skye before and we couldn't have had a warmer welcome. Our room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. We did dinner on both nights and found everything to be excellent, generously portioned and the wines available by the glass were really good too. Breakfast was also great - with high quality produce and friendly service, and the lovely view in the restaurant capped everything off. I've read a few negative reviews of this hotel. I think its a real shame - small hotels in the Highlands and Islands are never going to offer cocktail glasses in the rooms and may not have lifts and bellhops or counter fridges or some of the other bells and whistles of big city, high-end chain hotels. There might be twisty-turny stairs. You might need to carry your own bag. That's just the reality. And yes, the price will be high, because that's the market based on supply and demand in the spring / summer season. But I would say this is outweighed by the warmness and authenticity of the Broadford and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This was the letter sent to the Managment during our stay....and their response is attached as well. 17 May 2026 The General Manager/ Bradley Dear Sir, Subject: Formal Complaint – Suite Accommodation Falling Short of Advertised Standard Bradley, I am writing to formally express my serious dissatisfaction with the suite accommodation provided during our recent stay at your property, for which we paid £1694 for a three night stay from May 17-20. The room was advertised as offering “all the facilities you’ll need to enjoy a warm and comfortable stay” – a standard we found to be significantly and disappointingly unmet. Upon checking in, it became immediately apparent that the suite lacked a number of basic appointments one would reasonably expect at this price point. Specifically, we noted the following deficiencies in the thought process of designing and appointing this “suite”: • No coffee table or end tables adjacent to the seating area....anywhere to set a drink or cup down onto. No plates, cutlery or corkscrew provided • No coffee maker or bar fridge provided. No suitable wine or cocktail glasses. Bare walls bereft of any reasonable artwork. • The bed was fitted without a headboard. • The bathroom offered no dedicated surface or shelving for toiletries, nor was there a toothbrush cup or a box of tissues supplied. • The makeup area lacked a magnified mirror. • The television is restricted to basic channels with no access to streaming services of any kind. These are not minor inconveniences – they represent a clear failure to deliver the standard of comfort and amenity that your own marketing promises and that any guest paying a premium rate would rightfully expect, especially from this price point. We feel this stay represented very poor value for the considerable sum charged, and we are left with a strong sense of having been misled by the hotel’s advertising. This is not the experience we anticipated, nor one we are prepared to accept without a formal response. So disappointed are we, that we are opting to leave a day earlier than expected in favor of going elsewhere. We would ask that you investigate this matter as a matter of urgency and provide, in writing, an explanation for the shortcomings outlined above. We would also welcome a discussion regarding appropriate redress – whether in the form of a partial refund. We look forward to your prompt response. Yours faithfully, Bob Thornton 🇨🇦 Mgmnt Response: Good Day Mr Thornton. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your stay with us. I am sorry to hear that the aspects of the suite listed did not meet your expectations and this has affected your overall experience during your visit. We do appreciate all guest feedback and will review your comments carefully with the team. While some of the amenities referenced are not standard features within this suite category, we absolutely appreciate and understand your comments regarding the overall comfort and presentation of the room, and I can assure you that this will be taken on board as part of our ongoing review of the guest experience. I also note your comments regarding your consideration of departing earlier than planned, and I am sorry to hear that you felt disappointed during your stay. If you do choose to leave earlier I will absolutely approve a refund for the day that you have opted not to stay. Please let us know and we can have that processed for you. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention. Your feedback is highly valuable to us, and we have taken it on board. I do hope you enjoy the remainder of your stay and your time on Skye. Bradley Fowler General Manager The Broadford Hotel Torrin Road Isle of Skye IV49 9AB 01471 822204
Breakfasts and dinners at the Broadford were exceptionally good. We stayed in the Bonnie Lodge, separate from the older main hotel, and had a very quiet room which was most comfortable. The setting of the property, looking out over the water, was wonderful. The staff most helpful and we were offered lots of help before arrival and during our stay.
Nothing.
Conveniently located on a main road in the Isle of Skye and across the street from a Co-Op Supermarket, this hotel offers comfort and a good breakfast. Friendly staff, easy to make a reservation & parking spots make this a great place to stay near Portree.
Beautiful property and a great location. The room was large, comfortable, elegant and quiet. The staff were very friendly and the food at the restaurant was delicious. We absolutely loved our stay at the Broadford!
The bath was good and the staff were lovely. Location was good with nice views and close to amenities. Plenty of parking.
Pillows weren’t great. Rooms were quite hot. The hotel was pricey as were the food and drinks. Would’ve liked more options for dinner and local beers. WiFi didn’t work.
Bonne situation.
Location
While the location was central, the quality of stay was well below the price charged and the worst we experienced throughout Scotland, despite being the most expensive. You must drag your own bags up dangerously narrow stairs. The room was sweltering hot, the bed too small, the floorboards creaked in a frightening way (almost as if we would fall through). There was no access to real coffee in the room (only instant decaf 🤮) or even within the hotel early morning, no refrigerator in room, no ice, no app access on TV and no channel variety of any kind. The biggest turn-off was the Gabbro’s Bar. Service was not great at ALL - bartenders were rude and the food was absolutely TERRIBLE. I felt completely shafted at over $400/night. Very disappointing.

Far and away overpriced for what was supplied

Posizione. Buon ristorante ed ottima colazione.
Nulla
Good view from restaurant, comfortable bed. Friendly staff in dining room.
Dirty corrugated roof outside bedroom window.
The staff, especially the woman from the breakfast service, were very friendly. The pub is a real highlight—it's very cozy!
The price was way too high—comparable to a 4-star+ hotel in a capital city. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here. It’s not bad, and you can stay there for a night or two, but the value for money isn’t right. The room could have been cleaner. There were hairs on the bedding and dirt on the windowsill.
Isle of Skye has limited accommodations, so the prices are very inflated. This is a historic note across from the bay with a very nice restaurant. The 2nd floor room was spacious with a small sitting area.
There are no elevators. The bathroom shower was not clean with significant mildew on the tile, the coffee pot was broken, and drinking glasses dirty on arrival. They do allow pets so the bottom of the bed wrapping looked like it was chewed upon in multiple locations. I did send a personal email to the GM, she responded with an apology and she would speak to the staff. At nearly $450 per night, it was disappointing.
They let us check in early. It was close to buses. The restaurant is good, with beautiful views. It's quiet. I like the bath and shower. I dripped a bit of coffee on the bed cover, and they changed it. They didn't try to move my little piles of stuff in corners of the room. The room had everything: hair dryer, hot water pot, iron and ironing board, extra converter plug for Americans. Nice little walking paths by the sea and down to the river.
The toilet had a problem, which occurred in the middle of the night. There wasn't much drawer space in the room. No one offered to help with bags. Only one key for two people, and a fussy lock. Very dim lighting around the coffee pot. Not very flexible about breakfast - we needed an earlier breakfast ... even 15 minutes earlier would have been helpful.
Very good breakfast. Lovely setting and views. Good restaurant for the evening.
Very expensive and at least twice the price of similar hotels. No lift so disabled guests need to know this.
Everything was lovely. The hotel room, the view, the staff, the amazing food!
Nothings
Ripp off, 400£ for one night..hallways were dirty, windows couldn't open the sink was broken, beds looked like they were bitten by rats, no fridge in the room ,staff ran away when we told them all these things...It's a shame Skye is such a beautiful place but this Hotel really isn't.
We visited the Gabbro bar last night 23.04.26, the bar had a lovely atmosphere, with friendly staff & clientele, however the food was atrocious, The Mac & Cheese, what cheese? The pasta looked like it had just came out of the pan into the bowl, with a little sauce at the bottom and NO cheese, we did complain to the waitress, we told her that it was the worst Mac & Cheese we’d ever had 😢
Nice room, restaurant, bar
Waiting time for food in the restaurant, was tepid when arrived. 12-5% service charged which we did not pay
Food. Waited over 25 mins for scallops and black pudding starter. Scallops were slightly bigger than queen's , we are on sky, so you would expect them to be good as they are supposed to come from here. Very disappointing as I eat lots of seafood and had scallops in thurso which were beautiful no comparison. Mains . Came quicker but was cold on the outer edges luke warm under the fish supposedly caper and tarragon sauce.. loads of capers but no tarragon. Would not expect to be disappinted by the the restaurant and quality of produce on Skye.
Great location with amazing views from the restaurant, ample on-site parking, excellent breakfast, large room with lots of space, helpful and friendly staff.
The general level of comfort in the room could be improved by using better quality bed linen, better towels, better soft furnishings. For a room marketed as "deluxe" we would expect at least a full king size bed, ideally a super king (the room was amply big enough for this), but it's only a double. The pillows are especially poor.
All the services made the night spent there confortable, the parking is in front of the hotel. The room was very well cleaned, quiet and large based on two rooms. There is internal resturant and pub, but the position allows to move to other facilities as fish resturant at 200m far
Breakfast was available only at 08:30AM not before, this is not confortable if you need to take the ferry. Staff was amazing anticipating most of food 15 minutes before. Thank you
Didn’t stay for breakfast couldn’t leave quick enough.
Attention to cleanliness, broken sink in our room , shower had low water pressure, basic lack of maintenance to inside and outside of the hotel .
Very dog friendly. Great location. Friendly staff.
Room was quite cold. There was an additional heater but this took time to heat up and didn’t affect the bathroom which was very cold. Property could use an outside bin to dispose of dog waste.
Can’t comment on the main hotel as we were given Bonnie Lodge 5 (across the road from the hotel) which was amazing! The lodges have their own car park. Huge room with lounge area and separate little room with make up table/work desk. Lovely view of the sea, large comfortable bed, roll top bath and the most fantastic shower with the biggest rainfall shower head we’ve ever seen! Perfect for staying with our two little Boston terriers as direct access to a garden area outside. It was expensive but that’s Skye! We had a great stay.
Pillows were awful but otherwise the room was great.
Lovely friendly staff
All good no complaints
Muy buen alojamiento y muy buena ubicación
Warm welcome from reception through to Dinner which was excellent.
Nothing
Great value for staying In this luxurious-feeling hotel at the center of Broadford. Love the rustic style decorations. The room has everything we needed, and can accommodate our child on a sofa bed without extra charge . One bedroom + one living room with door to separate , spacious for a family of three people . The restaurant has beautiful window view and great hot breakfast. The hotel is by the bay with wonderful landscaping, and 10 min walk to nearby restaurants. Would definitely recommend this place !
None.
Relaxing, good location and staff were friendly
N/A
Heel vriendelijk personeel, goede rustige kamer. Prima!
If you’re looking for a great base while exploring Skye, The Broadford Hotel is a solid choice. The rooms were spotlessly clean, really comfortable, and the hotel has all the amenities you need after a long day out exploring the island. It’s also in a great location — perfect for reaching lots of Skye’s main sights without spending hours driving. But the real surprise? The food in the bar. I ordered the beef stew and honestly… it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Rich, hearty, and exactly what you want after a windy day out in the Highlands. Great location, comfortable stay, and incredible comfort food — everything you need for a Skye trip. Would definitely stay here again.
We didn’t stay at the hotel but we LOVE the restaurant, it is easily the best and most welcoming restaurant on the whole island. The staff here are, like another review said, the best in Scotland. They have a wonderful sense of humour, nothing is too much trouble and they go above and beyond, with a genuine passion for the hospitality industry. Brandon was our server last night and he had a service style that was world class. He was light on his feet when approaching the table, extremely timely, personable and affectionate in his service. We truly felt that he wanted us to not just enjoy our meal and time there but thoroughly ensure a 5 star experience. His service would be fit for Michelin service and I mean that. What an enjoyable and thoroughly nice and welcoming young man. He welcomed us immediately at the door with a big smile and greeted us goodbye warmly. It was luscious perfection. A true gentleman. I could go on all day about how wonderful his service was. Brandon, as a former server myself of many many years, you are truly exceptional. The spring menu is new and I also want to praise the chef and his nuances in this menu, it did not go unnoticed by us. It is light and playful and creative with ever flavour being perfectly seasoned and as it should be. I ordered the mussels and they were the best I have ever had. The dessert was the new panacotta. This was by far an OMG dessert. When Brandon presented it, I remarked at how feminine it was! The sherbert strawberry foam on top was like nothing I have ever had and will likely ever experience again. Truly a symphony of play, elegance and skill in the craft of cooking. I hope the chef can give himself a big pat on the back for the conception of this menu. It is as light, playful and unexpected as Spring itself. Just wow. Unlike other hotel restaurants and eateries on the island where you are treated like cattle, one in, one out, no personalisation, no real care, the Broadford is in a league of its own. Even the restaurant decor is interesting, perfectly lit and utterly perfect. We will certainly be back. We are sad to live in Glasgow when Skye has this restaurant to offer. Nothing compares. Wishing you all the very very best for 2026 going ahead, if any travellers are coming to Skye, GO HERE FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!! You will not regret it. The place is flawless!
The staff were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming of pets - the dog got her own tote bag with goodies in. The location is excellent - on the seafront, fabulous views but with petrol station and coffee options nearby. Portree where pretty much everything is (shopping, pubs, restaurants) is 30 mins away, and you're close to the Skye bridge if you're heading home the next day.
The room wasn't overly big and I thing for two people would have felt a little cramped - but it was pristine... and I felt the price for one night off season was a little high (£97 with my Booking.com discount - but that did include the pet surcharge). Guess for Skye it's the going rate.
