Great room with both western and Japanese style accommodation in one room. The food service was welcomed as going out was a bit of a hike or taxi ride. Amenities were welcome and the staff was incredible.

Kind and very helpful staff. Spacious room with good views. Bus stops at the hotel to take you to the slopes and staff will drive you to other stops for the different resort busses. Breakfast was great and dinner was reasonably priced and tasty. I loved watching the ski jumpers practice in the morning while I ate breakfast. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant every night, the menu had a good variety of dishes so we didn’t get bored. The staff even took our order for dinner in advance and had it ready for us when we got back from night skiing late one night. There was free ice cream available by the massage chairs. The onsen and ice bath were clean and very relaxing and cozy.

A bit of a long walk and hard to get to restaurants and into the main bit of town if you don’t have a car. But if you aren’t interested in night life and eating dinner in town and want more chill relaxing nights in like we did this hotel is perfect.

We had a lovely trip here. Location was perfect for easy shuttle bus access with a short walk. Staff was amazing, especially Sophie. Onsen was great after a day on the slopes. Food at restaurant was so good, and we ended up eating there almost every night. Breakfast buffet in the morning was really good, too. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location with amazing views from our bedroom window and from the breakfast room. Clean, friendly and super helpful hosts, excellent facilities (ski drying room, comfortable beds, onsen and sauna, massage chairs, ski shuttle bus right outside, hotel shuttle, great breakfast, bar, restaurant).

Very comfortable rooms, good food in the restaurant, great owners and staff, walking distance to Happo-One area, and to bus connections to other ski areas. Easy walk to fun tour of Olympic Ski Jumping facility including evening drinks/view, 15-30 minute walk into town not bad depending where you go, hotel shuttle connection to bus station.

The skiing- to get to the lifts it was a walk ( for those that know Perisher, it was from the end of the car park to the lifts, without the trudge at the end up to the V8). However, I hate carrying my gear, and the footpath had snow on it and there was a very slight decline to the lifts, so why not ‘pizza’ my way down slowly! And for the way home, there is a sneaky trail out to carpark 6 which cuts out about a third of the walk back! To get to hakuba 47, we stood outside our accomo and because it was the second stop, we got seats easily. To get to the other mountains north of happo, it was back down to lift area and hop a big bus and again seats were not a problem, because it’s an early stop. Food- everything they serve up here is delicious. On our last night we had the hot pot and my husband declared it was the best meal of our trip so far. You have to pre order the hot pot, so if you do it, go in hungry. 😊 Restaurants and night life are just shy of 1km away and that’s the only thing I wished we were closer to, but that’s only because I’m lazy at night and don’t like to walk to far. The rooms- we had a beautiful snow view from our room and on the same level as reception and restaurant, so very convenient. There is a lift, so all the floors can easily be accessed. The room itself was on the small side, but we managed to unpack all our gear and stayed there happily for 6 nights. The tv was too small, so that would be my only complaint. But they have another area in the hotel that has a big tv, perfect for watching the olympics. They have a bar area too, and many cocktails to try. If I could suggest putting in a couch in front of the fireplace and a coffee table for a pre dinner drinks area, that would create a vibe and atmosphere. And they have a coin laundry, Onsen and 2 message chairs. The people that run this hotel are exceptional and very helpful. They employ a team of peeps that speak English, and that’s so great when you’re in Japan‼️

A mixer tap for the sink in the bathroom and bigger tvs for the rooms. That’s all I got. Enjoyed everything about this hotel.

One of the best accomodation we stayed in during our Japan ski trip. Althought it is a older hotel, the rooms were spacious, clean, cozy and equipped with everything you needed. The location could not be better, close enough to the slopes, skibus and not far from the city center if you dont mind a nice 20 min walk. The owners were very nice and helped with everything including ski rental, pick up and drop off to the station. The breakfast was amazing, with both western and japanese food. Oh and the best thing is the onsen, which we enjoyed everyday after skiing and which was amazing. Honestly overall great value and will definetely stay here again if we come back to Hakuba :)

The property has a cosy, warm feel. We loved the onsen after a big day of snow boarding and they have theses great massage chairs for sore muscles. breakfast was great too! small little touches that we loved. location is really central close to happo one lift.

Had a very home-y feeling. It was cozy and the staff made the experience amazing. Monika, the owner, is incredibly helpful and super friendly. She answered all of our questions and helped plan our trips to the slopes. Snow gear can be stored on the first floor and rentals for certain shops can be left there once you’re done with them. There’s a shuttle that picked us up from Hakuba station, really helpful since we weren’t able to find a cab late at night.

The room with the mezzanine area was great. Also enjoyed the onsen and massage chairs. Breakfast was a great spread. But most of all the staff who rescued us from night skiing when we were really stuck. Thankyou!!!

It was a bit of a hike from the ski lifts but still doable.

Location to happoone village and ski field, shuttle buses to other ski fields are a short walk or stop right out the front of the hotel. Lots of facilities to enjoy- sauna, onsen, bar, restaurant. Spacious rooms. Large drying room. Amazing views

Friendly and flexible staff, nice touches like free ice lollies and massage chairs! Good to have à la carte restaurant on site, wonderful onsen which is essential after a long day skiing .

En suite bathrooms were a little small and tight. Luckily there’s the onsen option for bathing.

Improvement suggestion 1) make it possible to push twin beds together for couples & make space for bigger luggage 2) make English live news (international) & some movies available 3) pillows were too flat

コインランドリーや自由に食べれるアイスキャンディーがあった。朝ごはんのパンがとても美味しい。お部屋もとっても可愛かった。

今回は、気球に乗る目的で宿を探しました。近くで良かったです。 従業員の方は皆様、親切でした。

駐車場が少ない 建物がやや古い、歯ブラシ事前にないことわかっていたので持参しましたが、やはりあった方が良い

部屋もとても綺麗でとても気持ちよく過ごせました。 グルテンフリーのメニューの提供もありとても助かりました。 どのメニューもとてもおいしかったしスタッフの方達もとても親切でした。 お風呂も気持ちよくまたロケーションも良かったです。

別に何もなかったです

スタッフの方々の対応が親切でよかった。朝食のパン特にクロワッサンが美味しかったのと、みそ汁が具沢山で美味しかったのでついつい食べ過ぎてしまった。目の前にジャンプ台が見えるロケーションも最高でした♪

しいて言うなら、メゾネットタイプの2階部分は少しだけ暑かった。

Keita and his wife are great hosts and hoteliers. We enjoyed the facility, location, and staff of Hotel Yamano. I would recommend this hotel to any family that is looking to ski Happo One and the Hakuba Valley.

Likes: Great breakfast buffet each morning and the Jura (bean to cup coffee) was da bomb; Location to Happo One (could walk or the hotel will gladly shuttle you there) plus Hakuba 47 and Goryu shuttle bus stops right in front of the hotel; Friendly and helpful owners (husband and wife) plus staff always ready to help and offer helpful suggestions; Ordered the hotel's custom hotpot in the morning for dinner later that night which was excellent and very delicious "oiishi"! The heated ski room is helpful as you can stash all your gear there each day and gear-up in the mornings to give you more space in your room. Bartender Jack was great and helpful to suggest local foodie spots and makes great craft cocktails nightly. On site Onsen and spa wonderful and very convenient after a day on the mountain.

Rooms can be tight so we booked a 3 bed for two guys and it was perfect; Add more spirits/mixers to enable the bartender to offer more common cocktails. If you go to see the snow monkeys and museum from Hakuba plan for a whole day of travelling to and from the park if you don't have a car.

Exceptional facilities, big room, in-suite bathroom. Onsen is just amazing. Hotel manager and his wife’s help and local recommendations were really helpful.

15 minute walk away from the nearest restaurant, but a close walk to Nakiyama Slope and lift makes up for that. Fair trade off I would say. I’m here to ski, and the food in hotel’s restaurant is top-notch anyway.

We booked late (only a few days prior to our stay),we were happy to get a room anywhere in Haukaba but we thought it was expensive

Very homely feel to the hotel. The location was perfect, just a small walk to the slopes. The staff were so helpful and friendly.

This place is excellent. Super close to the base of Happo one, the staff go above and beyond with a shuttle service to help get you around. The breakfast in the morning is great, private onsen and sauna are super nice, and the facilities are perfect. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The toilet in room could use a lid as it’s quite compact and easy to drop things into. Loved everything else

The Hakuba Yamano hotel and staff were awesome! The breakfast was delicious and very filling before a day on the slopes. I tore my ACL while skiing and was on crutches for half of our stay; the staff could not have been more kind and accommodating for my situation. They picked us up and dropped us off wherever we wanted to go and they were super helpful for booking reservations at restaurants around town. The hotel is in a great location being a few minute walk from the ski lift and has great access to tons of great restaurants and cute shops in the town. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Great facilities, spacious rooms and the staff were so friendly and accomodating. Massage chair, onsen and sauna were a much needed combo post days on the slopes.

The beds were a tough sleep

Very clean and cosy hotel, with traditional Japanese experience. Delicious breakfast buffet and great dinner restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff, English speakers, who provided everything for us, including rent of ski equipment and ski lessons in the most convenient way. There are also a ski equipment room, massage chairs and even an onsen inside the hotel! It was a great family experience for us!

Breakfast, Dinner, Onsen, Bar all onsite. Hotel Shuttlebus provided. Close to slopes. Large rooms and beds. Unbelievable for the price.

The breakfast items were great, and the staff was attentive. The onsite onsen was perfect after a day of snowboarding. The hotel also provided shuttle service to the bus stop and is located near the bus stop for all the resorts in Hakuba. The hotel staff also helped scheduled a pickup for our snowboards as well.

The bathroom did have a distinct odor. Most likely from the cleaning solution used.

The service, hospitality is very personalized. Monica and family take care of the guests like family. The onsen, ski room, rooms, washer/dryer, breakfast, and location (with a view) cannot be better!
