Great staff, delicious breakfast with a clean and cosy room.
Suprr
O
People were nice and friendly
I complained about the shower, not working. It was all blocked up calcified so you couldn’t use it. Breakfast was fairly average. I need the rise but then order a coffee and that was charged wasn’t a free coffee with breakfast so I had to buy a coffee at breakfast, which was something new. The sewage smell in the bathroom was a bit too much as well wouldn’t go away, my friend stayed at the hotel near the Robinsons mall breakfast was fantastic. The rooms weren’t as big but you’d put up with that with a good breakfast and coffee.
Spacious room; great location; lovely staff; excellent food and breakfast; nice view; powerful aircon
The TV doesn't have any streaming service; the Wi-Fi codes are for a single device, you'll need to request multiple codes if you're with someone or have multiple devices.
The facilities, clean room
The room was very noisy in the night. The noise u can hear is from the outside like from the motor, car etc. The window has a very thin glass / or kind of plastic glass and when u close it u can see the side it is not really fully closed. That’s why I didn’t really sleep good. The room facility was good though.
Good newly renovated hotel
Hotel mett our expectations
Good service. Great food...I loved the restaurant on the top floor...it has one of the most interesting menus that I have ever seen ! Breakfast was also excellent. Getting poached eggs perfect is a skill...and the breakfast chef got them just right!
The room and bathroom are terribly small...that is unfortunate ...otherwise the hotel is terrific.
1 night is not enough! Super nice ng mga staff and the hotel vibes is the best.
I had a wonderful stay at Ironwood Hotel. The staff were very accommodating, always smiling, and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was one of the highlights of my stay. I really loved the menu, especially the fish embutido ,it was delicious and definitely something I looked forward to every morning. Overall, my experience at Ironwood Hotel was excellent. The hotel offers great hospitality, good food, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes guests feel at home. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
The room is wonderful and very comfortable, and I truly appreciate the hospitality. However, the air conditioning doesn’t cool the room enough, so it feels a bit warm at times. The Wi-Fi connection is also quite weak, which makes it difficult to use. I hope these can be improved, but overall I enjoyed my stay. Thank you.
Best experience while we are in Tacloban. My husband really enjoy staying at the hotel. I will recommend Ironwood Hotel. Excellent rate from Location down to Amenities 🫶❤️
Ruth from the front desk needs to be more empathic and not just following by the book procedures. When asked about the standard procedure for the customers, she failed to provide unless was asked.
The location, and the restaurants are good.
The AC was broken the whole stay so it was so warm inside the room. The bathroom is so tight as well the trash can doesn’t even fit.
It’s clean, close to everything.
Well, I think this hotel is kind of overpriced. Its rates are almost at the same level as hotels in other provinces like Seda Bacolod and Iloilo. The air conditioning was not cool enough, and I ended up sweating for 2 days. The breakfast servings were limited, and the refills were slow — sometimes there were no refills at all. The internet was also slow. I got disconnected from several online meetings because of the poor connection. I hope they can improve this.
Everything was great. The staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and peaceful The location was excellent getting from north tacloban to south was easy. The prices were excellent. We didn’t have a single issue. Ironwood is now our “ go to” in tacloban.
Staff
No hot water in room
The location..the room..the buffet..Worth it..
Nicest Room "Presidential Suite" we have ever stayed in and the largest in the Philippines. They upgraded us so we could be next to our family in another room.
good location.rooms are spacious and clean, hotel staffs are very accommodating.
The Leaf restaurant and lounge was exceptional. The food was great, the staff above par, and the ambiance amazing. Would go back JUST for that.
The smell of the room was like fish. There was a leak I believe from the bathroom to the sleeping area. The internet was down the entire first day/night we stayed. No ATM in the hotel. Since the internet was down, could not watch TV in the room. Needed to ask for extra toilet paper. Fiance said that the fridge items should have been free or cost less. Hotel hallway on our floor smelled odd, I assume because there was a restaurant 1 floor above. Hall outside of our room was used for storage.
The room could have been perfect if it were soundproof, as I could hear noise from the other rooms. Nevertheless, our stay was wonderful, especially thanks to the polite and attentive service of the staff. Kenneth, in particular, was a great help throughout our stay—he always provided the best answers to our inquiries and gave clear directions to our destinations, which was very useful since we were not from the area. The restaurant on the ground floor also deserves a mention for serving a delicious breakfast.
Room - clean sheets and floor, cozy, spacious, good lighting Location - accessible to resto, drugstores and cafes since it is right in the middle of the city Staff - accommodating and approachable (Ms. Ruth & Regina, thank you!)
Thank you for the pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a good experience and would be happy to stay here again.
Clean hotel, furnishings look new and modern, very nice comfy bed. Good selection of food on the menus from restaurant downstairs and upstairs.
The breakfast buffet is limited, ok for my filipina wife, but as a European limited options, and on our stay there was no pancakes, waffles or French toast although advertised, and no omelette but could make scrambled or sunny side eggs?
The location of the hotel is right in the middle of the city, whether you have a car or you choose to commute. Atmosphere was welcoming and I felt like I was a valued guest. My room was amazing! Attention to details! I stayed in Ironwood because I flew in from out of the country and wanted a place to get ready for my friend’s wedding. My room was right infront of the elevator so I could hear constant foot traffic, but it didn’t really bother me. I slept like a baby, fresh and cool sheets helped me really relax. I would be staying in Ironwood again next time I visit home.
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. We stayed in Room 304, which was comfortable and well-prepared. Christine at the reception kindly assisted us with an early check-in, which we truly appreciated. The security and concierge, Sir Kenneth, also helped us with parking. Thank you for the great service!
So far the experience was great. Accommodating staff, especially Christine Joy Durana.
Disappointing and Unhygienic Stay – Not Coming Back My recent stay at Ironwood Hotel was extremely disappointing, especially compared to my previous stay, which was very good. I was informed at check-in that the room assigned to me had no windows. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available for upgrade except the Presidential Suite, which required an additional ₱25,000 on top of my existing booking. With no other options, I had to stay in the assigned room. At first glance, the room looked okay, but there was a noticeable unpleasant smell. The bathroom sink emitted a very strong and nasty odor, and the bathroom was not as clean as expected. I also noticed a stained spot on the bed sheet, which was a major turn-off. I ended up sleeping on top of the bed cover to avoid direct contact with the sheets. At around 3:00 AM, I was woken up by loud crawling sounds in the ceiling, followed by noises of luggage being dragged and dropped. The crawling sound was heavy—like a big dog walking above the ceiling—which was very unsettling. I asked the front desk about this, thinking it might be a pet, but they informed me that pets are not allowed. They said they would investigate and later they send a notification letter about pesticide treatment. However, despite this, the loud crawling noises continued every night during my stay. The next morning, I reported the stained bed sheet to the front desk and requested a replacement. The receptionist assured me that bed sheets are replaced daily and that housekeeping would take care of it. After the room was cleaned, I returned and immediately checked the bed sheet—the stain was still there. The sheet was clearly not replaced. Later, I contacted the front desk again regarding the persistent foul smell from the sink and the unchanged bed sheet. The cleaner apologized and said they did not change the sheets because I did not specifically request it, which is unacceptable, as clean sheets should be standard housekeeping practice. They cleaned the sink, but after some time, the bad smell returned. At that point, I gave up and just endured the rest of my stay. This experience was far below expectations, especially considering how impressed I was during my previous stay. Cleanliness, maintenance, and comfort are basic hotel standards, and unfortunately, Ironwood failed on all three. I do not think I will be booking with Ironwood Hotel again.
Location
Where do I start.Firstly no hot water. The stench coming from the CR into the living area was completely unacceptable It smelt like a sewer. Underneath the toilet bowel had obviously not been cleaned for a very long time and quite frankly was disgusting. The CR basin tap was very loose and about to fall off.and the shower glass was filthy Our Main dinner meal was not only expensive but very very average. To top all of this off the party noise coming from the room next meant we did not sleep at all well
Pros: We stayed in a cozy room and already expected that it wouldn’t have a window—surprisingly, it was very cozy, spacious, and peaceful, exactly what I wanted. The room was also very clean. The bed was super comfortable, and there was Netflix, which was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The room’s scent was also very relaxing, adding to the calm atmosphere. The front desk informed us beforehand about possible water issues and ongoing Wi-Fi work, but thankfully we didn’t encounter any problems, and the brief Wi-Fi disturbance only lasted about 10 minutes. Overall, it was a very relaxing experience and exactly the staycation we needed—peaceful, comfortable, and good value for money. One of the reasons I stay in hotels in Tacloban is to try their breakfast offerings, and this one was a highlight! A buffet with good food and attentive staff. Cons: The room lacked just one small thing—the hair dryer had to be requested, and the one provided showed signs of wear due to overheating. We also had cocktails at Leaf Lounge and were looking forward to the alfresco area, but it had already been renovated and removed. That night, while we were having drinks, we were the only customers, and service felt a bit less attentive than expected, as we had to call their attention whenever we needed something. The food was good, and the drinks were great—especially since our cocktails was an off-menu request, and it turned out really well! The experience would have been five-star if the staff had been more proactive. This was the only minor downside to our stay; overall, everything else was good.
Thank you for taking care of me and my girlfriend while I’m in tacloban I appreciate everything you’ve done for us whenever I’m in Tacloban I will stay at the Ironwood Hotel!
Rooms and foods are awesome, I really appreciated all staff for being accommodating, attentive and polite. Keep it up!
I was very delighted during my recent stay in Ironwood because I was upgraded to a suite. The amenities were perfect. The bed was exactly what I wanted. Soft pillows. Very warm and hospitable staff. Would surely go back. Thank you!
The best!!it's worth the price. We were satisfied during our entire stay..Rooms are spacious/breathableand clean! The staff were nice and friendly especially the one assigned at the restaurant named Angelyn and that man we couldn't get his name but he might be the manager, not sure😊The location is perfect as well. This hotel is one of the best choice if you plan for a trip in Tacloban..
Stayed here twice and it was never a failed experience. The staff were great. The food is great. Great value for money.
Stayed for only one night but loved everything about this hotel. Staff are very polite, food is superb and inexpensive. The room was a good size nice and clean with everything you need. The breakfast was amazing. Me n partner stay in a lot of hotels throughout the year and this one is certainly the best for this price range by far. Very impressed. Thank you. Mitch @ Ash.
Great service. Cozy room and hearty breakfast buffet. This is our nth time and still the best hotel in the city. Their resto is great too.
Location was great with everything interesting within walking distance or short ride. We had the hot breakfast on our second day and really enjoyed the service and food quality. Staff was great with helping find private transportation and dining recommendations.
Was not sure if we had daily room service, but learned we needed to ask if we wanted fresh sheets or towels. I think this is more common to the Philippines and not this hotel. This was my first stop on my trip and I was still in fast mode, so I needed to practice some patience with the relaxed pace at the hotel.
A beautiful and classy hotel. Very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. Very comfortable bed and some of the best hotel pillows I've found. The restaurants are also nice. The restaurant upstairs has many interesting options on the menu. I only had the included breakfast downstairs. Just a small buffet, but the to-order eggs were better than average and the French Toast was excellent. Both restaurants keep your water glasses full, which I really appreciate. My only minor complaint was the street noise, but not unexpected in Tacloban on a Friday night.
The place is cozy, the staff is very approachable especially the front desk miss tin. The coffee is very tasteful. Thank you for greet experience.
Clean. Nice bathrooms and beds. Good AC.
No hot water in the shower.
I stayed with my boss last month, and despite the hotel not having an elevator, the staff were very helpful with our bags, which we truly appreciated. The staff Cristine was very helpful as well.
Picked up foods and cakes. Last november. The staff where very accommodating especially the front desk named Tin. Approachable🥰
Had a good time. Definitely worth the price. The place I will always go back every week. My safe space. I love this place so much!
Most Highly Recommended Hotel in Tacloban Very Accomodating prodessional staff ‘ clean and Very very nice food 😍😍😍
Filipino - Frühstücksbüffet "All you can eat" war sehr ausreichend .
Chambre confortable. Restaurant très bon avec des prix corrects
Petit déjeuner pas très fourni. Dommage
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The air conditioning was nice and quiet, which made for a peaceful and restful night’s sleep. The staff were incredibly accommodating and always ready to assist with any requests. Overall, a great experience!
During our check-in, we were informed that the hotel would be hosting a Halloween party and that in-house guests were welcome to attend free of charge, with priority access. At around 7:00 PM, we proceeded to the restaurant on the 5th floor for dinner. The food was good, and after our meal, we decided to stay a bit longer to enjoy some drinks and wait for the party to begin, as we were already at the venue. To our surprise, a waitress suddenly approached our table with the bill. I mentioned that I had not requested it, and she explained that we needed to leave as the restaurant would be reserved for the Halloween party, which had a separate charge per guest. I responded that it would have been courteous to inform us of this policy upon our arrival. I even offered to settle our current bill and pay the additional amount for the party entry. The waitress consulted the manager but later returned to inform us that all tables had been reserved and there were no seats available. As a result, we were asked to leave. The manager did not approach us to offer any explanation or apology, which I found very disappointing and unprofessional. We returned to our room and continued our evening there, as we had no other option. Later, when my nephew saw other guests entering the hotel, he asked where they were going, and they mentioned they were attending the Halloween party clearly contradicting what we had been told about in-house guests being the priority. The following day, during checkout, we were also charged PHP 1,000 for a small chocolate stain on a pillow, which I found excessive and unreasonable. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in Tacloban. The lack of proper communication, poor management, and absence of basic hospitality left a very negative impression. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking quality service and professionalism.
Great
Everything is good
Good position, good breakfast
The biggest issue was the airport transfer. The hotel sends a pre-check-in form to be completed online, where they ask if you need an airport transfer, for 1800 pesos (4 km – using the Grab app, the same ride costs less than 350). Then two emails arrive: the first one states that no transfer is guaranteed unless paid in advance, the second one says everything was confirmed and payment would be made at check-out. Seeking clarification, I sent several emails and messages through Booking, but received no reply. In the end, when I arrived at the airport at 11:00 pm, no one was there. But it didn’t end there. The next morning, I was called in my room at 8 am to ask why I hadn’t taken the shuttle and was told that I had to take the one to the airport at 8:45 am for 1800 pesos. However, since I had complained at check-in, I was informed that there was a FREE shuttle service leaving at a convenient time, and I had booked a seat. Nevertheless, they did not cancel the other one. After long discussions, in the end, they did not refund me the outrageous charge of 3600 pesos. As for the hotel itself, there were several issues: only 2 towels for 2 people to be used for everything, the bed had a stain, and the shower soap dispenser was loose. Breakfast was good, and the location convenient.
Great
Good location in the town, had a nice café and restaurant on the property.
Rooms were nice with every you need but my partner wanted a hair dryer that most hotels have.
The food in the roof restaurant and the breakfast are not in proportion to the price for an overnight stay. The price range is of 5 star hotels, the food and breakfast could be much better.
tables are wobbly the hot food is cold breakfast is focused on Filipinos little choice for foreigners
The room is nice but the bathroom is small. The location is also good since it’s in the downtown area.
Hospitality is really disappointing. Price is very expensive. It’s better to book with Summit Hotel. The staff was really cold. The food on breakfast buffet are obviously just canned goods and processed meats. There are fruits but the selection is very limited. The food at the restaurant is expensive.
This is 5th time in Ironwood, never fail to amaze me! Lovely rooms (especially the ones with window) and amazing staff. Location is perfect. Must mention their two restaurants! Both two thumbs up!
Staff provided great guest service, especially Regina. Staff made sure to accommodate our requests promptly and efficiently.
It’s very crowded
Was nice and modern
The location
Well we booked the Presidential suit, it was anything but presidential. There were stains all over the kitchen counter, the bedding had not been changed there were stains on the sheets, and when the room attendants arrived the change the bedding the next three sets of sheets were all stained and I refused for them to be put on the bed,the entire room was in disarray with damage. There is no parking 🅿️ it was around the corner in a vacant lot which only had enough spaces for 7 cars.
Clean, well-maintained room with an aesthetically pleasing interior. The WiFi is reliable, no issues during Zoom calls. Perfect for both work and relaxation. Ruth was especially helpful and made the stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely stay here again.
I like the interior design. The bed was so comfy and the entire place was clean ❤️

We recently had an overnight trip to Tacloban with the whole fam, we stayed at Ironwood. Gotta say, for a place where I had meetings practically glued to my chair from morning till the afternoon, it was pretty decent. And bonus – we snagged the Ironwood Suite! Seriously spacious with this huge living room, which was a lifesaver with the kids. Definitely felt a bit fancy without being stuffy. The whole thing was organized by this guy, Victorino Mendiola. Super efficient, didn't have to chase anyone for anything. Made the check-in a breeze, which is always a win when you've got the whole crew in tow. But the real treat? Dinner up on the rooftop. They had this Malaysian food thing going on, which was surprisingly good! We all tried different stuff, and everything was pretty tasty. Plus, eating with a view of Tacloban at night was kinda nice. The overnight stay itself was comfy. The suite was really clean and had everything we needed. That living room I mentioned? Seriously came in handy for just chilling out together in the evening. And breakfast the next morning was a good, solid way to kickstart the day before heading out again. So yeah, overall, Ironwood Tacloban was a solid choice for our family trip. Super convenient location, Vic and his team made everything easy, that Malaysian dinner was a fun surprise, and the Ironwood Suite? Definitely worth it if you need the extra space. Would totally recommend if you're ever in Tacloban!
They don’t have hanger hook in the toilet for towels.
Located at the heart of the city. It is very accessible to all establishments in Tacloban. Excellent customer service. Hotel staff are all approachable. The room was neat, stylish and spacious. They serve a different breakfast menu on the buffet everyday. Good food. You can order from their cafe at the ground floor too. We had an awesome stay.
Leaf Lounge is an perfect spot! From the moment you step in, the good ambience washes over you – it's so relaxing and stylish. The chill music playing in the background sets the perfect mood for unwinding. And the food? Simply great! Every dish we tried was delicious and well-prepared.What really makes this place stand out is the incredibly friendly staff. They were attentive, welcoming, and really added to the positive experience. Great food, great music, great atmosphere, and lovely people – highly recommend Leaf Lounge for a truly enjoyable time.
Evrything else about our stay was good. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was delicious.. However, the air-conditioning was directed straight at my bed, so I had to stay covered with a blanket all night. My wife and daughter, who were in the other bed, were more comfortable since the AC wasn't blowing directly at them. My daughter was also sick at the time, so we couldn't turn off the AC completely, we had to keep it running for ventilation, even if it made me a bit uncomfortable.
The required security deposit of Php 1,500.00 felt a bit unnecessary, especially since many other hotels don't ask for one. While it wasn't a major issue for me, I personally didn't like it
Great hotel. Reception staff fantastic. Was issued a room with no windows but this was changed to a room with window on request. Room and bed were lovely and very comfortable.
The breakfast was poor. No bread or toast available. Vegetable omelette full of ham. Replacement omelette had so much salt and pepper inside it was inedible. No apology. Restaurant staff hide in back room so you have to get up and ask through door if you want coffee. Very poor
I want to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service provided by Ruth and Kiara at the front desk. Their professionalism, warm demeanor, and efficiency make every interaction a pleasure. Whether it’s greeting guests with a smile, handling inquiries, or going the extra mile to ensure a smooth experience, Ruth and Kiara consistently go above and beyond. They work seamlessly and set a high standard for customer service. Their dedication, attentiveness, and positive attitude truly make them the best front desk team. Thank you both for your hard work and excellence!
Other than the unannounced construction that’s causing a bit of noise in the morning, had a good time staying in this hotel. Staff are helpful, room is great. I had a spacious and pleasantly decorated one.
Always the best
The food and the price for everything was exceptional. The staff were very accomodating and helpful. Thank you Ironwood for making the birthday special! - Hannah and Sam x
Only stayed for 5 hours but it was a very enjoyable 5 hours 😉
Staff were very helpful
A small pricey boutique hotel, with pretentions. The room was newly refurbished and looked nice with two mirrors, large flat screen TV, stocked ref, working wall safe, writing desk / counter with a wheeled-chair, small coffee table & chair and a king-sized pedestal bed. WiFi was excruciatingly slow. The CR had a sink, rain-shower and toilet and was small; but the water pressure was good and hot water was quick. There were condiments and plenty of fluffy white towels; but no towel rack or hooks anywhere. Coffee & creamer condiments were provided with kettle, tea-cups (should be coffee cups), nice glasses, ice bucket and small plastic bottles of water. The room floor was simulated plank, while hallways were carpet. A hidden water dispenser beside the elevator was a surprise. Off-site Parking is limited. The bar / dining room was booked-out for a private event, leaving only the oddly named Fireleaf Tavern (actually a cafe) for food and drink. The refurbishment project was ongoing but didn't really disturb us, with just the odd machine tool wining. -- end --
See liked.
The room decor is very welcoming and relaxing
Nice big room
Breakfast was okay could’ve been more options and hot
No window on the room
