The homestay owner was nice and helpful. The property was clean, no restrictions on timings. Come and go as you want.

Wifi speed could have been faster. No problem in general, I was working therefore, required a little more bandwidth. Otherwise good.

I stayed one night at Cloud inn Kandy homestay,and it was absolutely worth the price.The place is very peaceful,quiet, and offers a great sense of privacy. The room,bathroom,and bed linens were all very clean,and the bed was extremely comfortable. Mr. Gayan was very kind,friendly,and very welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Cloud inn Kandy homestay to both local and international travelers looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay.🥰

Die Lage ist gut und man hat einen großen Raum mit genügend Ablagen und Fenstern. Raum war sauber. Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Das Zimmer hatte relativ viel Schimmel an den Wänden und hat deswegen muffig gerochen. Auch das Warmwasser hat nur an 2 von 3 Tagen funktioniert.

Our stay at Cloud Inn was okay overall. The staff was kind and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, considering the price we paid, we expected more. The shower had very low water pressure, and the room was not as clean as we had hoped. There were no mosquito nets on the windows, and we found several insects in the room and even inside our bags. The bed was also not very comfortable. We did enjoy the breakfast it was very good but it ended up costing more than the stay itself. I would recommend this place only if the price were lower, as we feel the current rate does not reflect the overall experience.

Our room had some mould unfortunately but was ok for one night and the price.

This property is bugged Hotel but they are service not good.wash Room don’t have Light,Toilet tissue,Basin Also not good,Toilet flash also not good,and they provide me a dirty bed sheet and dirty blanket.

Gayan the host was amazing! He was more than willing to help with any needs we had. The room we had was huge and the dinner for extra charge was a delicious home cooked meal. The location seems far from the town, but there is a short cut down some stairs that’ll cut your time by a significant amount.

We had a tough time catching an Uber to pick us up from the property as its up a hilly road.

Getting to the house is slightly taxing due to the steep climb and uneven road. However, it is located very close to the city centre.

There was mold in the bathroom. I understand that the whole area is humid, but the ceiling of the bathroom and the shower curtain was covered in mold which can easily be replaced.

Our stay here was amazing the owner was amazing such a kind hearted lovely man and his family are also amazing. The room was comfortable and clean and it’s not too far to the Centre. Probably one of the best stays we have had in Sri lanka. Make sure to book this place such good value for money and such a warm welcoming place

The people who run the place are amazing and the room is quite big.

However I felt a little locked in the room, for it doesn’t have a balcony and there is a roof terrace but it has a fence. The bed was ok but the room didn’t feel very cost and the smell was a little stuffy. However for 1 night it was fine and again the people how run it are amazing. Didn’t try the food, but is probably also very nice.

The host was amazing and very helpful in organising activities for our trip. The best part though was the food. I had dinner and breakfast and both were very authentic Sri Lankan food and a fraction of the price you pay in the city. Definitely recommend the breakfast!

The rooms are nice, comfy and clean.

The road was a bit bad in terms of potholes and is small. To be fair it has nothing to do with the property itself but the road leading to it.

Clean and comfy place. Very nice hosts. There was a good working fan in the room, which was definitely enough. Very good traditional breakfast with explanation how to eat it. It’s in a calm area. By foot you can take a short cut going up and down some stairs to go to the main road. To the temple it’s a 30min walk.

Some of the tuk tuk drivers had trouble finding the place.

Location, the owner showed us a shortcut to reach Kandy city centre easier.

Owner a bit pushy in selling some tours. Also at checkout an issue about paying an extra tax recently introduced by government, thing which I disagreed, I am always paying the amount on Booking. If are there any extra taxes they should be reflected in the booking cost.

The host Gayan - so professional and hospitable! He will perfectly taking care about you and can give you all informations what you need. Rooms are basic and clean - cost performance ratio is AAA+ Ps: the chicken kottu (homemade with love from his wife) is super delicious! PPS: with the shortcut from the hotel you are super fast (2mins) at the main road - from there you can take a tuk tuk or walk nice along the lake to the Tempel and city center.

The breakfast was good.

The quiet location is on a hillside well beyond walking distance above the town of Kandy, accessible by vehicle over a number of very narrow, steep dirt lanes. The room had a single old Type M outlet with three large round holes. The owner provided a loose fitting Type G (UK) adapter that when a cellphone charger was attached would come loose. Although we moved to a hotel within walking distance to the city, we paid for our entire two-night stay after our first night. The bill included a 10% surcharge above the Booking.com total price. When we questioned the owner about the surcharge, he indicated "now many of other places charging 28% for total price as new vat implemented by government". He also pointed out that he could have charged us extra for the bottled water placed on our breakfast table. We completed a 17-day Sri Lanka trip, and no other host added a surcharge, and at no other place did we have electrical plug issues. This was our only negative review while staying in Sri Lanka. The facilities and location warranted a rating of 7 at best. The owner's surcharge dropped the rating further.
