The stuff was lovely

Location isn’t great- you must take a tuktuk to arrive to anything and the tuktuk don’t like to come to this area. Also many insects are coming into the room by night and the water are not really hot (neither cold).

Guesthouse au calme , loin du vacarme fatigant de l'hyper centre de Kandy. Le jardin est magnifique et le secteur est résidentiel. Pour se rendre an centre de Kandy ou au Temple de la dent, c'est 20 minutes de marche agréable ou 5 minutes en tuk tuk (utilisez l'application Pick me) Petit déjeuner très copieux. Merci au propriètaire qui nous a donné de bons conseils de visite et avait le soucis de rendre le séjour le plus agréable possible. Chambre simple mais confortable et excellent rapport qualité prix.

Ambiente familiar, tranquilidad, las instalaciones, agua caliente, buen desayuno y sobretodo la amabilidad y disposición del dueño y su familia. Preciosísimo jardín con plantas muy cuidadas. Aunque está un poco alejado del centro, andando por la orilla del lago son 25 min, se gana en tranquilidad y frescor porque Kandy es una ciudad con mucho tráfico.

Está un par de kilómetros del centro en zona de cuesta. Nada que no se arregle con un “pick me”.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Unser Gastgeber war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und hat uns mit einem hervorragenden Frühstück verwöhnt! Es blieb kein Wunsch offen. Es war sehr ruhig und der liebevoll gepflegte Garten ist wunderschön. Wir waren rundum happy!

Es gab‘ nichts zu beanstanden.

Die Gastfreundschaft war super herzlich und aufmerksam. Das Frühstück und die Sauberkeit.

Die Unterkunft lag weiter oben am Berg und die Straße dorthin sehr eng und schmal. Wir haben es aber trotzdem mit unserem Tuktuk als nicht local geschafft :)

Buen alojamiento, limpio, tranquilo y sin ruidos, camas muy cómodas, A/C, desayuno abundante y muy rico y con una pequeña sala de estar y lo mejor la familia que lo lleva que se desvive para que tu estancia sea lo más agradable posible. Recomendable por calidad-precio!!

A lo único que se le puede poner algún “pero” es a la ubicación que se encuentra un poco lejos de la zona centro y del Templo de la Reliquia del Diente de Buda y hace falta un vehículo, pero es algo que se puede solucionar con un Tuk Tuk.

Muy buen sitio para quedarse en Kandy, un poco alejado del centro pero, a cambio de ello, ganas en tranquilidad, un estupendo balcón con excelentes vistas. La familia que lo regenta es tremendamente amable y lista para atender cualquier petición. Excelente relación calidad-precio

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation is in a perfect location – close to the center of Kandy, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. The host was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Everything was spotless and well maintained. The view from the terrace was nice. We also really enjoyed the breakfast. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Kandy!

The property is located in a quiet residential area , off the busy main road . Eranga , is an excellent host , true Sri Lanken hospitality . ask him for information of places to see around the Kandy area . nothing is too much trouble for him . I had a most enjoyable stay at the White Lodge , everything considered , well done Eranga , keep up the standards & your lovely hospitality .

The host was super sweet and friendly. He welcomed us with drinks and was very helpful too!

Los trabajadores son muy amables, atentos y serviciales. La habitación estaba muy limpia. El agua caliente no funcionaba en nuestra habitación pero hacía calor, no nos hizo falta. Nos prepararon unos desayunos buenísimos adaptados a sin gluten. Teníamos una guía en la habitación con los puntos de interés. Disponen de una cocina con nevera, café, té, hervidor de agua, microondas… ¡Sin duda repetirá el alojamiento!

White Lodge is a fantastic guesthouse with clean rooms + comfortable beds, a lovely porch and veranda area with lots of plants (and shade!), and an incredibly kind and helpful host. I was sent a list of recommended sights around Kandy on booking this guesthouse, and our host was more than happy to recommend restaurants, trips, and offer advice on arranging transport. He also arranged a delicious breakfast each morning, we had a choice between Sri Lankan and continental breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the White Lodge and would recommend this to anyone looking to explore Kandy!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Außerdem hatte man einen Balkon mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht! Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und ich kann jedem empfehlen das lokale Frühstück zu wählen.

The host (Rathnasiri) is just a beautiful soul. He wanted us to have a great stay and his customer service is excellent. He provided a welcome cold beverage for us and shared information about Kandy. The room was very clean and modern with excellent air conditioning and fantastic hot water. The WiFi was excellent. The morning breakfast is delicious and comes with fresh fruit and a fresh drink plus coffee/tea. All the staff were great and you can walk downhill from the place to Kandy Lake within 10-15 minutes. I would recommend staying here 100%.

We were on the 3rd floor and there's a large sitting area but no AC there so it gets pretty warm but that's really minor.

This was a wonderful homestay - we were really sorry not to be staying longer. The family were really friendly and helpful and the shared tea/coffee making area was a real bonus. We had a lovely balcony with a wonderful view of the hillside. An easy walk to the centre of Kandy. The breakfast was delicious. We just didnt stay long enough!

Een heel fijn verblijf gehad! We werden direct warm ontvangen met een welkomstdrankje en kregen meteen leuke tips en uitleg over Kandy. Daardoor voelden we ons gelijk heel welkom. Het verblijf ligt wat hoger op een berg, in een rustig gedeelte van Kandy. Juist dat vonden wij erg fijn, weg van de drukte maar toch dichtbij alles. Zeker een aanrader!

Room was nice and quiet. Private balcony with a view. Nice bathroom. Host was very helpful with restaurant advice, and also got up extra early to cook breakfast for me at 6 AM.

About 300 m uphill from the main road, but tuktuks are easy to find and will take you all the way up. Without luggage an easy walk.

My stay here was absolutely wonderful! The people are incredible and gave me such a warm welcome. They truly cared for me and took care of everything, from the delicious food to the smallest details. ​I stayed for two nights, and it was honestly one of the smartest decisions I’ve made. The location is strategic and very convenient. I will definitely be back!

Politeness of the elderly lady, who was part of the management. Nice breeze outside and chilling mood.

The owner is extremely rude: on booking is mentioned “airport shuttle free” but already to arrange taxi I had to contact several times cause no reply. Once arrived to the property, he told me that I should have paid the driver and when I pointed out that on booking it was written free, he replied that free was only the “arrangement of the taxi” but the drive itself was to be paid. When I pointed out that it was not very professional, he replied that “I shall learn how to read the English”. I understand it could be a mistake on the website but there are 100 different ways to explain the situation. Quality of room: there were mold stain everywhere on the ceiling and walls; humidity of the room was insane; toilet paper was opened already and wet; only two towels provided and no ones for hands/face; curtain were in front of beds and not blackout type, so every morning was not possible to sleep properly. Breakfast not of the best ever tried in Asian country.

Super helpful and kind host, good breakfast (different each day), comfortable bed and large room with lovely balcony, hot water shower, fan and a/c, whole place was spotless and updated. Saw monkeys and birds from the balcony in the morning. Would stay here again. Thank you for a great spot to stay in Kandy!

A bit out of the way. Takes about 30 minutes to walk to town but you can walk along the lake which is lovely. Easy enough to grab a tuktuk if you don't feel like walking back up the hill.

Nice view, breakfast was okay, it was silent at night, the owner helped us arrange the driver for the day trip. We recommend it.

Our family loved our stay at White Lodge. Our room was immaculately clean and the beds were comfortable. The location is great too, you are still close enough to town but the bonus is it is very peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and the owner Eranga and his family are lovely people. We felt incredibly well looked after and we really appreciated the driver and car that was arranged for us. We would happily return anytime.

Hele fijne accomodatie! De host ontvangt je heel vriendelijk. De kamer is netjes met een fijn bed, goed werkende airco en een ruim balkon met prachtig uitzicht. De badkamer is ook schoon en de douche werkt goed en heeft warm water.

Met een eigen tuktuk is de accommodatie wat lastig bereikbaar door de steile helling, maar de host helpt je hierbij. In de kamer hadden wij wel last van veel muggen, dus je moet wel zorgen dat alles goed dicht zit.

My stay at White Lodge was really enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable and had a spacious bathroom with everything I needed. The view from the room and balcony was lovely, and it’s just a short walk to the city centre. The hosts were very welcoming and offered fresh guava juice as a welcome drink. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, and there’s a shared kitchen if you want to use it. I would recommend White Lodge for anyone visiting the area.

הדרך למלון תלולה מתפתלת וצרה. שזה מחייב רכב מחד מוקשה על הגעה עם רכב מאידך. מצאנו פתרון התאמנו עם הנהג נקודה קרובה נוחה יותר אבל צריך להביא בחשבון את דרכי ההגעה.

Very quiet location, really comfy bed and clean. Really enjoyed staying here just for 1 night but would’ve been happy to have stayed a lot longer if I wasn’t moving somewhere else

The owner. He was so good and really helpful. The rooms are spacious and feels more like a hotel than a honestly as the rooms are separate to their home.

The hill is steep but easily do able in a tuk tuk or on the way down!

Beautiful location. It’s a great walk into town to the lake. The shower has a glass door which we are used to so we enjoyed! The place is very clean and the owners were super helpful with everything!

A wonderfully warm and welcoming family. The room and bathroom are super clean and equipped with everything you might need. Breakfast is varied, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The Wi-Fi works perfectly. If you’re visiting Kandy, you should definitely stay here. The family gives the best tips for exploring the city. And here’s a small piece of advice: don’t stay just one night and rush off on the train. Take your time to discover all that Kandy has to offer and to fully enjoy the incredible hospitality of this amazing family.

Hotel familiar con agua caliente (en muchos hoteles no tienen). Eran muy amables. El desayuno estaba delicioso y fueron muy atentos. La habitación estaba bien. Tenía secador de pelo.

Está alejado del centro y las carreteras para llegar son un poco estrechas ya que se encuentra en lo alto de la montaña.

Super friendly host. We were stuck during Cyclone Ditwah, and he was incredibly caring and helpful. We were able to stay for a few extra nights until it was safe to travel again. I would definitely recommend! Clean rooms, hot shower, amazing breakfast and quiet location.

Wir haben uns von Anfang an super wohl gefühlt und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Es gab einen unglaublich leckeren Guavensaft zum Empfang :) Die Besitzer sind unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit! Alles war makellos sauber und sehr gepflegt. Top Frühstück und sehr abwechslungsreich :) Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb des Zentrums, aber genau das war für uns perfekt und kein Nachteil: Zu Fuß ist man in etwa 25 Minuten in der Stadt, und mit dem TukTuk geht es sowieso ganz unkompliziert. Dafür liegt die White Lodge wunderbar ruhig, abseits vom Trubel und Lärm – perfekt, um nach einem Tag in Kandy zu entspannen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können die Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

Und persönlich war die Matratze etwas zu weich.

De kamers waren uitzonderlijk schoon zelden heb ik zo’n nette en goed onderhouden kamer meegemaakt. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en staat altijd klaar om je overal bij te helpen. De locatie is ideaal: net buiten het drukke centrum, maar op wandelafstand zodat je toch gemakkelijk overal naartoe kunt. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is werkelijk top. Absoluut een aanrader!

De host was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Hij heeft zelfs kosteloos een tuktuk naar het treinstation voor ons geregeld. De kamers zijn erg schoon en de bedden slapen heerlijk.

Spędziliśmy tutaj jedną noc podczas 14-dniowej motocyklowej podróży po Sri Lace. Czystość, elastyczne zakwaterowanie i smaczne śniadanie lankijsko - europejskie to trzy główne wspomnienia na myśl o tym miejscu. W pokoju mieliśmy również dostępny balkon w widokiem na ogród/miasto. Very polite and informative staff. They gave us a warm welcome and reccomended a nice place for dinner. Clean rooms and sitting area. Newly renovated bathroom Satisfying breakfast.

Room size is a bit small for three. But not very important as we did not spend time in the room. The thing we really did not like is the comfort of the single bed in the triple room. Bed is extremly squeaky. Even every small movement it makes a lot of noise. Allthough the hotel is nice i would not stay there again just because of that. Apart from the bed i would give top notch.

Super lieve mensen! We bleven niet zolang maar het was een zeer aangenaam verblijf. We moesten zeer vroeg de trein nemen, waardoor we niet konden ontbijten. Ze maakte voor ons een pakket om mee te nemen.

We had a great stay at the White Lodge! Everyone is beyond kind, breakfast was awesome and the view and air up here is so good. It was taken care of everything, the towels were clean and soft, there was hot water in the shower and the balcony was a great extra!
