No staff. Broken locks on shower doors, no privacy curtains on beds. Sink in room didn’t drain for 3 days and owner has been notified and didn’t do anything. Whole place smells. Major road works outside of property so just awful.

The manager changed my room to ground floor on arrival immediately & nothing was too much trouble. Car park round the corner, and free parking nearby.

More information on what is and isn't in the room would have been more helpful, no TV no radio, no Kettle not even a class to have a drink of water. The sliding entry door was hard to slide. Over priced for what little we got.

Dass zwischen 22–6 Uhr keine Kochmöglichkeiten gab. In der Straße wurde gearbeitet und früh war es laut, ist aber nur vorübergehend.

The rooms are clean, the facilities are well maintained, and the location is very convenient. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. It feels like a home away from home whenever I visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfortable accomodation.

There was major construction outside my window, but that's not their fault. The layout is a little strange. I never saw the front desk open/staffed, everything was no contact so I'm not sure how I would have delt with any problems or questions if they arose.

No hot water was a disaster. I have a stuffed ankle and had to haul bags up stairs and in the morning my ankle was seized up and missed bus as it was not over the road as advertised at all. Very upsetting.

No hot water. Completely off. No bag storage and had to go upstairs rusty old railings with a stuffed ankle. Door screeched horribly on room. Courtyard beanbags deflated so getting up and down was painful. Room cold block concrete. Linen clean though. Bustop not just over the road as advertised. In fact several roads over due to roadworks. With a stuffed ankle I missed the bus even with 15 minutes to try get there. Because I wrote a complaint to their FB messenger they made a "serious" complaint to booking.com and denied me to come back (because they were all.i knew and I've just left a DV situation I just wanted somewhere to cry and rest). Instead I was left sitting on my bags on the side of the road. There was opportunity to contact me about the hot water prior but no effort to do so. Appalling and adding insult to true injury

It always feels home to stay here, feels comfortable, relaxing and easy to settle into. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Nelson :)

I had some issues with an other guest not respecting us in the room, staff said it was a recurring problem with him and they could not do anything expect moving me to an other room the next day.

Perhaps the stoves should be a bit adjusted. Bathroom in the first floor need a little upgrade.

I arranged with the manager to charge me only 1 night but charge me two for 1 nights stay. The road in front of back packers was completely torn up and so noisey won’t be fixed for 3-4 weeks avoid it like the plague if I was you

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026Common areas (kitchen and dining room) were decently clean and well-kept, after-hours check-in process was easy and nice outdoor tables for seating.
We paid extra for a private room - our room smelled unpleasant and like sweat. The bedding was pilled and not comfortable, didn't feel like a clean stay. The shared dorm rooms appeared cleaner than the room we stayed in (from a quick peak in the hallways). The shower-head in our bathroom fell off while I was showering and the shower was difficult to get in and out of (much higher than ground level).

Zimmer haben eher einen Knast-Vibe. Lüftung im Badezimmer ist mega laut sobald das Licht eingeschaltet ist. Reception ist nie besetzt.
