OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka by Hoshino Resorts

Clever loft bed design with lots of storage makes this room feel a lot larger than it was. Slept 2 adults and a child very comfortably. Area was very convenient as it was on the Yamamote Line and lots of restaurants close by. Enjoyed that it wasn't too busy in the area.

It was really nice stay during our family. The loccation is very close to Otuska station. The room bit small but it is cosy and clean. Also, staffs are very nice and friendly!

Nettes Personal, saubere Zimmer angenehme Lage nahe der

Viihtyisä hotelli mielekiintoisella alueella. Sisustus oli tosi hieno.

Staff and amenities at the hotel are excellent. Beautiful rooms. My kids loved the loft bed. Very comfortable beds, and AC worked very well. It's clean, modern and well appointed. Privacy blinds in the room which was nice. Bathroom really nice with a separate shower room. Just be careful because the clearance for the low bed is low so you do need to duck if you are over 5'7". I'm 5'9" so it's a little tight, but nothing to complain about if you are careful. The breakfast was excellent. Various risotto's for breakfast, which was unique. A little more variety would have been nice, but it was still good. You only have the choice of around 5 breakfast options, 4 of which are risotto. They were really good though. My kids loved the chill vibe of the lobby and dining area.

This was our favorite hotel in Tokyo. It was modern, well- designed and very clean. They were clear about everything and staff was helpful. We were able to leave our luggage there after check out and explore. Right next to the station- awesome location near a Daisyo and DonQuixote

This is a really great

Wonderful property and so easy to get around

Excellent hotel! Would definitely stay here again.

Lived it.

Beautiful, trendy hotel that has the most perfection location! Just 2 minute walk from the train station that is one stop from Ikebukuro. This place is perfect! The family room layout is also an incredible efficient use of space. We loved staying here so much! Away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to everything.

It is very close to the subway, really convenient

Perfect location 5 minute walk from Otsuka JR station. Area is outside of busy tourist areas, more local food and shopping options. Hotel was spotless, staff went above and beyond to make stay enjoyable. On site restaurant great for breakfast. Free walking tours of the area. DJ and activities in lobby area in the evening. Highly recommend.

Hotel very well located near station. We tried the loft rooms. Unfortunately we were too tall and had to stoop down a lot. More like staying in a cave.

Excellent

Super beliggenhet. Gode madrasser. Lavt under takter for de høye av oss

Great concept and great customer service

-

Great location and unique rooms!

.

Amazing! Already loved the area so this hotel is a great addition. Comfortable. Great service. Best pyjamas Love the toilet being separated from the shower/tub. The front desk were super helpful with cables and scales Hallways were too hot in my opinion. Already planning on going back

Good location off JR line. Small unit but functional. Bunk bed space tight and low ceiling but it worked. Kids enjoyed the breakfast.

Very convenient

good

Quiet, but not much shopping around the area. Have to take train to Ikebukuro, but it could be within 15-20 minutes walk to Sunshine City

Convenient location just few mins walk to the JR station. Also with lots of convenience stores and restaurants around. Comfortable room too

Very nice and convenient

Very convenient for traveling to Tokyo or nearby

Condition of the room needs maintenance Moulds in bathroom, moulds near windows, window frame swollen from moisture, wall paper peeling off

Convenient location and friendly staff.

What a cool hotel. Easy access to train station to get around Tokyo. The whole setup was great, reception and bar and then ten room was a great use of skace based on a traditional Japanese set up!

We enjoyed our stay at OMO5 Otsuka. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean and carefully designed to optimise the space. However, the loft space would make it hard for tall people to be comfortable. We stand about 165-170cm, and could just stand up underneath the loft space, but still had to duck under the beams.

Nicely designed room. Enjoyed with eyes. But functionality of room is ?. Prrsonally mezza 9 should be 10cm higher. We didnt find aircon controller in a room. It was unusually warm day for November and we were staying at 13F. It was too hot and we couldnt sleep. There was no bottle of water or tea / coffee to offer, only green tea bag at the lobby. Lobby was full of suit case. You have to walk carefully between luggages. Toilet at the lobby was full of dust on the floor.

Very nice

The room was pretty unique and interactive. We loved our stay in this hotel and the staff were super helpful.

Situated very close to train station so getting round Tokyo was very easy, staff were friendly and room was very clean can’t fault it at alo

.

We enjoyed our stay at OMO5. I think the only let down is they only have 2 drying machines to cater all guests. But overall the experience was great. The location is unbeatable. We will come again when visit Tokyo next time.

I booked this hotel for its look and larger space. It looks just like pictures. The tatami type thick futon mats in the loft area were so comfortable for sleeping and it was nice feeling like you were going into a separate space for nighttime. The layout of the room is great too, with the toilet, shower and sink all separate. And there's room for luggage. If your observation about Japan having small hotel rooms bothers you, this is a great place! We loved how close we were to the Otsuka train station and could easily catch the JY line. That being said, you are 15-40 minutes commute from the tourist sites, but that was what I liked about it. It had a more local, alternative scene and wasn't congested like tourist areas. For English speakers, you might have trouble at the front desk conversing, but I got my issue sorted still and it worked out. I do wish they provided room slippers. The area has lots of izakayas to eat/drink. Or you could walk about 20 minutes and get to the Sunshine City area. Next time we go to Tokyo, we'd stay again!

close to the Otsu station

Good

Love the aesthetics of this hotel and the dining options in its surrounding area. There are four convenience stores very close to the hotel and there is even a 24-hour Japanese bookstore! The room is super cute and the mattress is very comfortable. Highly recommend!

locality of the hotel is perfect and the room we stayed was nice and clean. highly recommend.

Love the design of the hotel & the room. But only got lukewarm welcome by reception staff at checkin. Couldn’t find anyone at reception, when I wanted to ask them something around 10pm. Also couldn’t find what number to dial in the room phone for the reception or to call another room, as couldn’t find hotel information anywhere… I ordered a risotto at breakfast but didn’t find it that tasty. Would have preferred a Japanese style breakfast instead.

The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel was stylish, clean. The rooms were well equipped and the bar area laid back. The neighbourhood was quieter than surrounding areas but that was a good thing at the end of a busy day. The station a couple of minutes away connects you to all areas easily. Highly recommended.

Innovative room design though small but using all the interior space. Improvement is the toilet area should make a tray for placing mobile phone and room should provide bottles of water. American breakfast is also excellent. If having more choice by coffee machine it would be perfect.

Good area

My favorite hotel of this trip. We stayed at Tokyo Metropolitan Hotel in Ikebukuro and Almond Hotel Nippori but OMO 5 is my favorite. I enjoyed the quiet city away from over tourist in Shinjuku and Shinjuku, where give me more stress then relaxation. Yet the location is very convenient. 6 mins walk from JR Yamamoto Line and 20 mins to Shinjuku.

So nice

Nice

It is good for the price you pay. The location is a bit far to the main areas in Tokyo - 30-40 minutes by train. There are some nice restaurants in the area. A lot of the hotels we’ve stayed in Tokyo offered free drinks and pastries in the morning, here nothing is for free but I guess the rooms are cheaper than other hotels so it makes sense. The tv is really old and unfortunately you can watch Netflix or any other streaming channel on your tv and there’s only Japanese channels.

Super friendly and helpful staff, very clean room, super comfortable sleeping arrangements, and an amazing shower/bath! All around, extremely satisfied. If I return to Ikebukuro anytime soon, it is extremely likely that I will stay at OMO5 again! Highly recommended!

Nice and good

Was a great place for 3 people. Nice and private. Good use of space. Shower was amazing.

This was probably the funnest lodging my friends and I stayed in, it’s a very unconventional room layout with the loft and the couch bed and as really cool and the staff was super nice and convenient with answers to questions. Highly recommend staying here if you stay in Otsuka or just need a nice place at an affordable price.

A very pleasant surprise. It had everything we needed. Loved the DJ in the lobby.

This hotel is just awesome!

This hotel is over rated, it is unclean and the service is below par. Basics such as luggage storage, slippers are not provided, even upon requested was rejected for luggage storage for 1 night. I ended up booked the extra night just to keep our luggages in the room when we headed to Mount Fuji. The double deck design is interesting but not practical, even for our family that are fairly short, we almost hit our head every time and the upper level is difficult to get it and out without hitting once or twice. I will definitely avoid this hotel!!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The layout of the YAGURA room was really cool. I've never seen a hotel room like this before, and it utilized the space really well. With two mattresses in the upstairs loft area and a large day bed in the main area, this was perfect for our group of three. The front desk staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, answering all of our questions and assisting in shipping our luggage to our next destination in Kyoto. Breakfast was delicious, with several different options that can cater to any taste. The kitchen staff were also really friendly! The only minor complaint that I have is the laundry area. There are only two washers and dryers, and they get full quickly at night. We had to wait in the small room to ensure that we got our clothes washed (it didn't help that one rude guest left their clothes in the washer for over half an hour). If you need to do laundry, I recommend doing it in the middle of the day if possible, since most of your fellow tourists will be out and about. Other than that, everything else was fantastic. Would be delighted to stay here again in the future. Thank you for taking good care of us!

Lovely place to stay

Great friendly staff with fast check in. Great WiFi as well as in a great location next to station.

The space design of the room is super good, we even have a small living room.

We really enjoyed our stay at the OMO5, the location is fantastic easy access to the station and plenty of dining options around. The laundry in the building was super helpful. The only issues we had was navigating the stairs from the bedroom down to the bathroom at night are super sketchy. We were far too jet lagged to handle that safely.

The room is very clean, but the carpet in the corridor is dirty and there is a strange smell all the time. Public area also not clean

By far our favourite hotel in Japan. The lobby areas are relaxing, the staff had good english and were really helpful. The rooms are brilliant, the amazing design means you have living and sleeping space which when travelling as a family was a huge bonus. Can't recommend enough

Good value hotel in a convenient location very close to Otsuka station. The room was clean, modern and well-designed and makes clever use of space. Disappointing that although there is a kettle in the room no tea or coffee are provided. The split-level arrangement in which the sleeping platform is directly above the living area and accessed by a short flight of steps may not work for people who are tall or have mobility problems. Good breakfasts including a western-style option.

Very quiet neighborhood. Close to the station. Very spacious rooms that are hard to find in Tokyo. Perfect for short and long stays. Very clean and new

Extremely trendy hotel that is also a cool place to hang out instead of just sleeping in. Feels nice to have a little walking space inside your room and the 2 min walk from a major train station on the Yamanote line while being out of the way of station traffic is amazing.

We had a decent stay

very nice and new just 2 min from JR station to the Hotel Room is bigger than normal Japan hotel

Location is awesome for groceries shopping n dining. Not much of services provided and no hot springs or public bath.

The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The space is small but the design makes it feel big. This was a gem off the beaten path. It was fun exploring the local restaurants in the neighborhood. We enjoyed our ranger tour as well. The hotel is also very convenient to the JR line and very easy to get around. Highly recommend and would stay here again!

Very nice hotel, very convenient with less than 5 mins walk to JR station. Seeing a group of young people managed this hotel with heart.

Loved the design and the efficiency of the hotel. Staff were very accommodating. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Location is very convenient and the room was unique and clean

Having high hopes as this is run by the infamous Hoshino resort we were left with some disappointments. Our luggage was not already in our room when we used the luggage forwarding service, in our previous experience when staying with other Japanese hotels the luggage are always already in the room waiting for us. Amenities were minimum and you would need to pretty much pay for everything which are otherwise free at any other Japanese hotels.

Very cute in room design and breakfast was nice. Staff was very friendly. The location was great, close to train station.

if they could keep luggage overnight for those not have further reservation would be better

The bunk beds were great, just be careful if your over 6ft tall, cauae you will bang your head.

The only thing is smaller than expected but generally great.
