Nice, clean and comfy room. Staff were very friendly and helpful in recommending some takeaway places as I got there really late so the kitchen was already closed and offered plates and utensils up to my room.

It’s a bit older but had everything you needed, good size rooms.

Outstanding breakfast! freshly cooked to very high standard. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Lovely large room, big bathroom, double bed was also huge (more like a king size) and very comfortable. Crisp clean sheets and fluffy towels. Really lovely pub and location and excellent value for money. Would recommend and we would definitely stay again.

There isn't aircon (we were fine with this) the windows don't open very much as have safety closers so be aware it can be warm in the rooms. Fan was provided in the room and it did cool down overnight with windows open so not a problem for us.

We stayed in Room 4 which was quite sizeable with a very large comfortable bed.

Room no 12. But tatty, stains on the wall. And over priced as Moto Gp was on for 3 nights, 6 nights in spain with breakfast at B&B with on suite and £50 pound less

I was there for a local event where I had the single ensuite. Check iin and out was easy, veggie brekkie was fab. Bed was very comfy and it was quiet to boot. Highly recommend

Nothing. Where's my refund? Why haven't you called me as promised. Why should I have to chase you for my money?

Terrible, after booking, the hotel called to cancel my reservation and still haven't refunded. They promised an immediate refund, and to date have not done this. I spent 20 minutes on the phone to a central booking number which cut off without resolving this issue. I gave my number , they promised to call - nothing!

I was in an outside room (RM 12) It was a nice little single room, comfy bed, fan, kettle, coffee, tea, shower etc that you would find in a hotel. The TV had netflix, Amazon, Disney+ etc (which will work if you have your own account for them) The carpark had plenty of spaces when I arrived (I did arrive late evening) and I could park opposite the room I was staying at so I could see savage from my room which gave me peice of mind too, Anyone that is superstitious has no need to worry, the hotel doesn't have a room 13. The heart of England does offer breakfast if booked in advance (7am -9am) and lunch from midday. The staff were friendly and I got to meet the manager and his lil doggo Dennis. Apart from that..I would stay here again if needed.

Only downside there wasn't a plug near the bed (so an extension cord would be advised) and the toilet doesn't give much room to move for a "bigger" person when used.

This is a 'tired' venue and needs investment and refurbishment throughout the building. Breakfast was ok. It was evident some of the hot items had been cooked for some time and kept warm.

Position on canal tow path, which was excellent for a pre dinner walk. Our room was on the ground floor accessible directly from the car park, which for us was perfect. Staff were very helpful and cheerful

One of the bedroom curtains was hanging from just two hooks and looked dreadful. The nearby railway line was very noisy.

Not the greatest place to stay. It was clean but needs a complete makeover. The staff didn’t know we were staying for breakfast even though we had paid for it. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry

Beautiful area and lovely staff. When I found a problem with my room they happily moved me to a new one. The food was amazing and the breakfast service was quiet but prompt and attentive. Everyone was really friendly and we even had a bit of banter

Bit of a shame there was.no air conditioning but the rooms did have fans so that was good. The sink had a bit of an odd smell to it. Don't think it had been cleaned for a while. A number of the lightbulbs needed changing in my room in the end. I forgot to mention it during my stay!!

Have stayed here a few times, staff are always great & the beds comfortable. Overall good value for money.

The chilled and peaceful atmosphere. The outside area is rustic with an old school charm about it.

The building is in dire need of some maintenance. Rotten windows. Broken gutters damp ingress. Needs major investment. The evening staff need escorting to the job centre. The lack of supervision allows them to play silly buggers most of the night. Which I am sure is not what you pay 3 people for. The so called evening chef on the Friday spent more time near the end of the bar playing with the other 3 children that were supposed to be working. Also the same chef needs to maybe visit a clinic I am sure he had something wrong with his testicals. He did nothing but tug at them. That was in full view of people who were eating food he had just fried and microwaved

The quietness of the location the room had nearly everything I needed

The room (10) was dark only really 1 bright bulb out of 3 but such a minor thing and really didn't effect my stay

Confusing check out time looked online it said 2pm but was suppose to be out by 11. Cleaner had a little growl at us but we were out by 11.15 anyway. Only other complaint and it’s not about the property or location is the local cab drivers absolutely taking the p*** with the prices they charged!! Joke, somebody needs to have a word with them.

Comfy very large bed, quiet room, good parking. Breakfast and evening meal excellent - Food is the best part of this accommodation (and chef very friendly) Manager seems friendly also but needs to review the staff.

The young lad behind the bar has zero customer service skills. Mumbling, not listening so repeats the same questions, no smile, he is in the wrong vocation. Curtains not hung correctly and almost falling off, no blind on bathroom window, steps down to bathroom awkward during the night, toilet not clean. The cold water tap comes out red hot for the first few minutes - the pipework in the hotel needs to be completely upgraded. It appears the cold water pipe is directly next to a hot pipe causing this. The pipes are so close the the floorboard you can feel the heat coming through the carpet. The hall area on the top floor is red hot

Building needed a little TLC about the exterior. I paid for breakfast but found out that the kitchen didn’t open until after I had to leave each day.

Bedden waren opzich prima, maar erg basic en gedateerd.

Er was een jonge knul achter de bar, hij had een joggingbroek aan en oortjes in, was niet erg spontaan en we begrepen hem ook niet altijd. De dame smorgens bij het ontbijt was ok! Omdat er verder niemand in het hotel was en er niemand daar dineerde, durfde wij ook niet te dineren. Bij het ontbijt waren wij ook maar alleen, ik ontbijt smorgens niet maar ik had er wel voor betaald. Een optie voor wel of geen ontbijt zou beter zijn. Het is een mooi pand, maar ontzettend slecht onderhouden

Location was great. Room was comfy and the staff were very helpful. The shower had loads of pressure and a great flow of water and the full english breakfast was perfect.

Travelled for a wedding and chose this hotel as it is very close to wedding location. As we weren't going to be in the rooms for very long, we didn't want to spend a lot of money. Anymore than £55 per room and i think you would be very disappointed.

There is a constant smell of drainage as you enter and walk around the hotel and restaurant. I'm sorry to say but we ordered the breakfast (10 of us) and it was inedible. I can't comment on evening meals as we didn't eat there.

The check in wasn’t a check in it seemed very confused as ‘the system was down’ had to ask how I could get in and out in the late evening as wasn’t given any info about anything at all during ‘check in’ no actual reception, was just a guy behind the bar, no one around when I needed to check out so just left the key on the bar hoping someone would find it. The room itself was spacious however there were pretty weird stains / marks all over the room, toilet looked like it could do with a good bleach, just didn’t feel particularly clean / sanitary tbh Bed was comfy enough and it was quiet but other than that I don’t know as I’d stay again when visiting family

The staff are so helpful and friendly they really made you feel welcome. The price for the room was great value, the rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. Will definitely be back for another stay

The room was very well-equipped. There was a desk and a chair to sit on. There was plenty of space. The bathroom had plenty of space on which to put my toiletries. (Something you don't often find.)

The bed was very comfortable.

There was no one on reception for us to make a complaint as the TV didn’t work at all, there was no hot water at the shower and the toilet seat was really loose. There was room for improvement with the breakfast.

We like the destination it works for us visiting family.

A few minor repairs in the room never got done since our last visit. Bathroom could do with decoration.

Der Service war lächerlich und unprofessionell Zimmer wurden nicht gemacht Um 1 min nach 9 gab es keinen Kaffee mehr obwohl man uns Frühstück bis 10 Uhr zugesagt hatte am Abend vorher.

Beautiful old building but that’s the only good thing I can say

The building was lovely, just a shame the customer service wasn’t very inviting and not very welcoming like we were an inconvenience. We had dinner there as well we done the 3 course offer, the nacho bites had no cheese in them. Chicken wings were nice. Main meal steak was cooked correctly but the chips were soggy and scampi was over cooked. The chicken plate the ribs were cooked well the bbq wings had not sauce on them but the ribs were smothered a long with the southern fried chicken was smothered in sauce which was very overpowering. For dessert we ordered sticky toffee pudding and hot chocolate fudge cake, they had run out of sticky offers pudding and cheesecake and vanilla ice cream. Chocolate fudge cake wasn’t even hot. Room was nice windows were hard to open. The bathroom window wasn’t frosted so other houses around can see in. Mold on the bathroom window. So overall not a great experience.

I've scored this hotel a 9 because frankly, for the money it is in a quiet location with ample parking, clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. They served a great breakfast and even rustled up an item that wasn't on the menu for my disabled brother. There was plenty of choice on the evening menu as well.

The lack of a lift meant I had to carry cases upstairs for my disabled siblings. If only I had read the facilities, we would have taken a smaller overnight bag.
