Great stay
Very quiet, amazing breakfast
No complaints
Everything the foods excellent
Nothing stayed there at least 10 times now
Fantastic hotel with art decor everywhere. Staff are helpful and friendly. Perfect breakfast to start the day. My room was very clean and comfortable with added touches of mints by the bed. Tea coffee and hot chocolate assortment of fruit tea and lovely biscuits. I would highly recommend 💯
Unique setting lovely decor
Need plug sockets by the bed - minor but would be useful
A fantastic hotel, always a joy to visit! Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent as always. A varied and generous breakfast is always welcome the morning after!
Nothing
Great location and deco, very clean and tidy.
Nothing
Liked the art deco, restaurant including menu was good.

The hotel buildings and its fixtures and fittings are fantastic. Love the way its art-deco past has been maintained. Being next to the airfield was an unexpected bonus when we saw Spitfires and a Mustang take to the air. It was very quiet within the accommodation.
The food was ok, certainly not up to the same standard as the hotel itself. Breakfast was plentiful if a bit overcooked.
Beautiful unique venue. Great service in a classic style with great views of the airfield
Nothing
Nice location, nice rooms, easy to find and great food.
Nothing, all positives.
The art deco features and aviation theme mixed nicely
The member of staff at breakfast was a bit too keen on clearing away on the dot.
All lovely
My second time staying. It’s clean and convenient for where I work, the staff are lovely and for the price it does what it says on the tin. I also love the art deco rooms, takes me away from some of our modern stresses.
The windows need to be open in the warmer weather and both times I’ve stayed I need to open them onto the main road which is unbelievably loud! Can wake you up.
I loved the art deco style and the intricate details
I liked it all.
Easy to get too, good sized car park. Simple check in process. Room was big enough and clean, loved the dated look and overall feel of the building and room. Had tea and coffee making facilities as well as decaf!
Not a fan of £100 down at check in, especially as they then don’t offer room service. £100 seems a little steep
The traffic on the road outside was noisy up until very late at night.
The whole experience
Nothing
We loved the art deco style and furniture
The road close by could be a bit noisy but not that bad.
It's a stunning building and right next to an aerodrome... what's not to like? The food and the rooms were delicious and comfy respectively, and it was in a nice location too.
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable, a very substantial breakfast and the staff courteous and helpful
The perfect stay My only problem, it is extremely difficult to make a reservation to stay at this fine hotel, it seems rooms are blocked off making it very difficult to make a booking online !
The hole experience was Great from the time we arrived to leaving. the location is fantastic for anyone who loves aviation as the aircraft are parked just outside the beer garden .Great rooms,Great price,Great location 10/10 I will stay there again.

This is a stylish art deco hotel. There were period features and furniture that made this hotel unique. Even the hotel corridors were interesting. The attached restaurant overlooks the airfield and continues the art deco theme. The evening food was great and the breakfast well catered. There was plenty of free parking.
Because it is a period hotel, there was no air-conditioning. The exceptional heatwave had left the rooms warm. We could hear the road traffic from our room, and didn't get a great view. Next time we stay, we will ask for an airfield side.
No lift. No meals Sunday evening. No hot water and no information about air con and shower. Very disappointed.
Breakfast and location.
What a beautiful hotel. The Art Deco theming is stunning, our room was large, with plenty of space, and the bed was very comfortable. Great shower as well, and a non-slip bath mat was provided without us having to ask. The staff were all wonderful. They were chatty, friendly, and the lady at reception was extremely helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. In fact, we almost certainly will at some point.
The food was good quality and portions were very generous, but the menu wasn’t to my personal taste so I would’ve struggled if we’d eaten here every day of our stay. I felt that breakfast was a bit compromised by the fact it was a buffet, which I don’t think is how the hotel normally does breakfast. I think they normally have a breakfast menu, but the hotel was extremely busy while we were there and so I think the approach was changed. Being a buffet meant that breakfast wasn’t particularly hot and the eggs in particular were rubbery, as fried eggs often are on a buffet. This wouldn’t stop us staying again, and I wouldn’t say the food was bad, it just didn’t really suit me.
We loved the Art Deco styling of the hotel, with all the furnishings and decorations appropriate to the era. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean, with enough drawers and hanging space. The car park was also off-road, surrounded by the hotel buildings. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff very friendly and polite.
Unfortunately, the room was quite warm at night even with the windows fully open, so maybe some air conditioning could be a solution, especially with the hotter weather these days. and there was a persistent, clattering, banging noise in the distance from around 4am onwards, which kept us awake. Perhaps there is a nearby freight terminal, we're not sure.
Friendly staff, hotel decor, room was a good temperature and spacious. Location despite being next to an airfield was nice and quiet. Room was clean and overall we felt very relaxed there.
Nothing, it was all great.
Trip worked out well, enjoyed visiting the airfield museum and cafe; the hotel was a terrific environment, good food, friendly people.

Nice room and a good breakfast. All of the staff that I came into contact with were very pleasant and polite. Liked the way that the bar and the dining room was separated from the hotel. Good bar area that gave good service with reasonable prices.
Car parking a little confusing at first and that there was no lift which did create some difficulties.
The vibe is brilliant with the Art Deco inspired theme throughout- the closeness to the parking areas of the airfield gives it something very special
Nothing !!
The airfield and a private P51 Mustang airshow was a nice surprise.
Everything is a bit dated but I did like the overall aviator theme.
I was visiting the airfield which was next to the hotel. The location was perfect for our stay.
The room was as expected but there was a lack of electric points close to the bed. It would also be an advantage to have USB charging points in the electrical points.
Excellent location for the airfield.
Rooms very basic. No ‘extra’ eg shower cap or moisturiser or wipes etc
I personally prefer unsmoked bacon.
The food was excellent. The decor of the main building and hotel is superb. Staff were marvellous.
Alcohol prices were a little too high.
Quirky ideally situated for Silverstone
Our room 223 was so noisey next to the main road
Great staff and location
Building a little tired and the bedroom floor uneven
If you are working at the airfield and don't have transport the location of the hotel is good. This is the only reason I ever stay there.
The rooms are very noisy due to road noise. The rooms are quite basic and not worth the ammount they charge. The breakfast is poor, the cooked food is always very greasy and usually over cooked. Dinner is okay but it is only pub level food. The policy to charge £100 to a card, even if you are not going to charge anything to your room is unacceptable. It took 31 days for me to have the £100 returned to my account on one visit. This is a 2 star hotel that is trying to get away with 4 star charges.
The hotel had a nice feel to it. Jo on reception was very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant on the evening of our stay and the food was great.
The room was very noisy. Although it is situated in an old airfield, there seemed to be alot of through traffic throughout the day and night. It was fine for a 1 night stay though.
Clean , tidy and functional
The receptionist!
Nice and comfy
It was all good
Excellent food
Het is zonder meer leuk om in een hotel te slapen tussen de sport vliegtuigen, dat heeft een speciale vibe.
Kamers zijn schoon maar gedateerd. Restaurant is eigenlijk beperkt.
Welcoming staff, beautiful art deco style decor, plentiful parking, great food, well stocked bar, elegant but relaxing ambience. We've stayed many times before but never on a Sunday. We were there for an event and were aware that the kitchen was closed after 3pm on a Sunday and the hotel helpfully sent an email with a list of places to eat and contact details. Breakfast is a buffet and good quality, cooked breakfast, croissants, juices, plentiful hot drinks.
Can't think of anything!

A fabulous historical art deco hotel.
Nothing.
Beautiful and so clean the room was comfy and very clean, breakfast was 10/10 recommend the aviator breakfast
Nothing
The location was perfect with a beautiful beer garden overlooking the airfield Rooms were very clean and spacious with air conditioning All of the staff were so friends and helpful And the food was great!
Nothing to dislike
Fabulous.. 15 out of 10 what a wonderful unusual place from planes,, war planes,, museum,, location food
Nothing it was fab,, only comment would be possibly back ground music in the dinning room and a fan in bedroom
Delightful Art Deco ambience, making it a "Boutique" experience. Interest of the Sywell aerodrome activities for an enthusiast.
Disastrous liaison between Booking.com and hotel. B & B was paid for to Booking.com but inclusive breakfasts not included by hotel. When proof of payment shown to her on arrival, room card modified by hand by receptionist, but hotel accounting system not corrected at the time, hence £55 overcharge on check-out hidden in incomprehensible billing had to be discovered and identified to receptionist after initial over-payment. Luckily we had time to do this onsite, after incorrectly paying the required amount in the slightly stressful check-out queue. Refund was paid to card without argument. after detailed explanation made to receptionist, requiring copies of Booking.com receipt. Hotel billing bizarrely starts with a minus value (ie actually a credit) representing the amount paid to booking.com and then includes and debits the items already paid for, to a completely different organisation (booking.com) eg room rate etc, increasing the confusion. This "cock-up" did not spoil the overall experience, but reminds us that the check-out bill, presented with a flourish as definitive, and in accountant-friendly, not user-friendly format, may not actually be correct at all.
Only staff involved in our stay was the receptionist. 10 out of 10.
Room was in keeping with 1930s theme. Rooms were modern standards but dated and could do with a revamp.
Very authentic period hotel , like going back in time .
All good
Excellent food, large comfortable room, lovely staff
Spacious room, comfy bed, more than welcome efficient airconditioning, good breakfast
No lift. A shower that didn't work on about the hottest day of the year. Deformed plastic tabletops on the verandah that tipped drinks over
Freshly cooked breakfast from menu very good. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
The portions at dinner in the restaurant were huge - a bit off putting as we don't like leaving food on our plate! The bottom sheets don't fit the bed very well.
I love the old airfield and airport feel to this hotel. It's very handy for stays in or near Northampton. Food is great and so are the staff
It was another English heatwave and simply too hot for comfort
We stayed whilst visiting the British Grand Prix. The hotel was exactly as we expected. They had clearly thought about what they were providing. The room was clean, good size and quiet. They provided us with a packed breakfast as they expected a lot of people with a lot of early starts for the F1. They did run out of a few items, but this did not matter. There was obviously a lot of thought and care to it, and this was all appreciated.
Nothing - it was all good.
Very nice especially the sausages
Fantastic 1930s decor and atmosphere
Food was good, but small portions
Stayed for one night, room was comfortable. Met my needs
Location isn't great if you're staying longer than one night - not much around
superb, clean room with plenty of space. food is excellent as is the bar and outdoor area.
Friendly staff, great location

Lovely breakfast, enough choice and good quality
Lack of staff at reception. Hot room with no AC or fan. Hotel couldn't provide a fan and didn't seem to care. Hotel is tired, its supposed to be retro but is not of the standard expected. Cleanliness needs improving
Comfy beds
Needs updating. Doors need sorting as they slam
The decor was very funky and interesting
The design and a lot of the features.
Location so great Food and restaurant great
the Art Deco architecture
the lack of a lift
Great location and superb art deco features. Good all round service attentive staff and good food/bar.
Quirky hotel, with am
Lovely room comfy beds
Room well stocked with tea and coffee faciliies excellent ensuite and good desk and chair with mirror plus another table and chair Well furnished and comfortable bed Plenty of room Well thought out Very helpful welcoming staff
Could work soap dispensers and possibly a fan a good idea
Beautiful building, clean rooms great location for Sywell/ aerodrome
No air conditioning, no fridge in room- no fans - rooms in summer too warm
Breakfast was buffet style, however Kate arranged for something off the 'al a carte' for the second day. She was superb. Thanks to the Chef for that. Dinner on the first night was lovely. The room had air conditioning which we didn't expect. Clean and comforatable. Excellent. The hotel was in an art deco style of the 40's which was apt as it was an RAF training based for pilots during the second world war and to have a spitfire flying overhead what more could you ask Well recommended
We have stayed here before. A good option when we are in Northampton for family occasions. We were slightly late checking in - over-running birthday lunch! - but the member of staff on duty was very friendly and helpful. We knew there was no food on offer at that time on a Sunday so had brought a bit of a picnic, and the same member of staff helped with plates and cutlery. Very impressed with the level of customer service. The location at Sywell Aerodrome is also lovely, with the Art Deco vibe, and we had the added bonus of seeing a Spitfire in flight.
A hot water jug to make tea at breakfast. NO! You need properly boiling water to make tea. Also my pet peeve of tea bags and small cups. NO! Either give me a mug or a teapot
Great Vibe, service, decor and access to airfield for flying!
Art Deco, overlooking an aerodrome where you will often see Spitfires and other vintage aircraft taking off and landing. Easy parking, comfortable lounge, good bar, great staff.
Nothing.
Handy for our activity the following but still a great location. Love the art deco theme. Great staff and a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
It had everything in the room for what we needed for an overnight stay.
It's original art deco. Feel as tho Poirot & Hastings are going to appear at any moment. Staff were all exceptional (Nadine gets special mention). Right next to the airfield so always something to see. I had the best steak salad ever! My room was big with proper windows that open all the way. A great shower and very comfy bed. Couldn't fault this hotel at all
I only stayed one night and would like to stay longer
Great location to fly into.
Didnt have breakfast
All good
I loved the location and 1930’s style of the hotel. The bar staff were friendly.
They don’t accept Apple Pay at check in.
Comfortable bed, good shower, stylish place.
The place has no atmosphere. Good average, could do so much with the place, but it's just cold. Wouldn't return unfortunately
Quirky
Water dripping in the cistern all night. Breakfast only available from 7. Smell of weed in the lobby to the rooms. Taking £100 deposit whuch I still have not got back 24 hours later
The art deco design of the Aviator is great - from the building itself to all the design touches inside. The beds were really comfy and we were situated at the end of the ground floor corridor which was very quiet. The room was a twin and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good and reasonably priced. It was a shame the weather wasn't better as there is a lovely garden and patio with lots of tables from where you can see the airfield.
The bathroom was a bit outdated but was very clean. The toilet seat wouldn't stay put which is always a pain in the *! A couple of comfy chairs would have been nice in the room as there was certainly the room for it.
Beautiful atmospheric art deco building and rooms. Lovely evening meal very comfortable clean room. Large room
Think it was instant coffee at breakfast Poached egg was over cooked
Loved the 'retro' feel.
Yet again a delay in repaying my £100 'bond'. This happens EVERY time I use The Aviator. An unacceptable practice.
Quirky art-deco aviation themed on airfield!
Management and Food and that they take a non-optional card payment on arrival even if the room is fully paid for…. This effectively prevents anyone withholding payment payment for anything. So if you have a meal that’s badly cooked, and you complain they can just shrug their shoulders and say Tough!
Clean, comfortable
Basic facilities, and noisy car park..paying £100 deposit after paying bill
History , location, comfort, food
With breakfast included it was a bit expensive for its rating, also service at breakfast bearing in mind the price was no better than average
Location
Room was very basic. Bathroom should have a separate hand held shower for easy hair washing, the fixed shower made that very difficult
Love the Art Deco 'aero vibe' We had a 90th party for 26 people - the menu was varied, lovely, hot and arrived on time. The breakfast was also varied and perfect. Every member of staff were polite, helpful and efficient.
Everyone had such a lovely time I didn't notice anything negative!!
The staff , food and atmosphere was great
The bed was very uncomfortable need a new mattress and the room needs black out blinds did not sleep all night
The setup of the hotel is very cool. Its well organised. Rooms are of a decent size and decent showers and the beds were very comfortable. Also Hot Chocolate sachets in each room is absolutely superb. They moved me to an upstairs room by my request and the did what they could to help.
Erm the lack of tvs and sports in the bar area. I tried to watch football in there and they couldn't help. I think if there was a tv with channels and possible sports it could help. There was a bit of noise from the cleaners outside my room when I was trying to nap made it difficult to rest. Apart from that can't complain.
Was an overnight stay, superb location, everything was perfect. Lovely garden and terrace.
Nothing to dislike.
Amazing location for aviation fans and lots of history . Best hotel garden and views . Friendly staff , clean and comfortable hotel with good air conditioning in bedrooms..Good restaurant .
Excellent location for wing walking experience. Art deco building and quite unique. Food and service in bar restaurant was excellent. Nice friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.
The 100 deposit taken at first put me off , but in the end the stay was so good it didn't really matter just means you can charge to your room
Great decor and a nice warm environment
When checking in and having to leave £100 deposit, they do not take contactless payment. I didn’t have my card with me and it was the right pain to get my card Details, so they could type in the number on their machine. Don’t understand why this can’t be done when they took contactless everywhere else in the hotel. Bedrooms were very dated and needed an upgrade, bathroom wasn’t the cleanest and the smallest TV in the room you have ever seen. No plug sockets by the bed which can be very inconvenient, especially for people like myself who has to use a sleep apnoea CPAP machine nowhere to plug it in next to the bed. Bedroom doors also were sprung too heavily and slammed all night when people entered their rooms. Definitely not worth the price paid.
Friendliness, flexibility, superb spot.
If I had to nick-pick: The bed was a little small There are no elevators
