Wat een droomlocatie: een oase van rust aan de rand van het historische centrum van Lecce. Echt beter kan niet, je loopt zo het oude stad in en toch is het stil in de heerlijke tuin met zwembad. We zijn volledig in de watten gelegd en hebben genoten van de warme en gastvrije ontvangst. We kregen een rondleiding door de mooie villa en hebben genoten van het zwembad, de tuin en het lekkere en veelzijdige ontbijt. Absoluut voor herhaling vatbaar.

L'emplacement à la porte du centre historique est très appréciable. Le jardin et l'espace piscine en plein coeur de LECCE sont justes magiques. L aménagement et la décoration de cette vieille demeure ont été faits avec beaucoup de goût. Le petit coin terrasse privative qui donne sur le jardin pour le petit déjeuner est formidable. Le petit déjeuner, qui ,n'a rien de petit est incroyable ! L'équipement et le service est au top, digne d'un grand palace.

Les prix pratiqués pour le minibar sont aussi malheureusement à la hauteur d'un grand palace.

This is a wonderful oasis with access to the old town through the gate. Beautiful family home with accommodation of only 4 rooms underneath the private quarters. The staff are magnificent and Vittorio , the owners son welcomed us like friends and kindly showed us through the home. Our room was very comfortable , great airconditioning, a little private patio for breakfast every morning . So easy to walk into town then come back for a swim in the heat of the day. A brilliant choice and the best place we stayed in 2 weeks in Puglia

The hotel was peaceful, and calm surrounded by beautiful nature. The pool was relaxing and we always felt like we had the place to ourselves! Such a treat! The house is amazing and we got to meet the owners and learn more about the history of the house. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed!

La chambre est belle, spacieuse, bien équipée, piscine de rêve, le petit déjeuner est bon et varié et les gens sur place nous font sentir comme si on était de la famille. Nothing everything was perfect

Dimora Storica Muratore is in an historic villa right on the city wall of the old town. There's guarded parking right across the street from the back door, we left the car there for three days, no problem. Our room was on the ground floor, with two comfortable twin beds. The huge glass door to our private patio let in plenty of light, and the air conditioning worked beautifully. Breakfast was served just outside our door in the foyer, an opulent buffet of local specialties with coffee made to order. Home-made liqueurs and water were available throughout the day and there was coffee- and tea-making equipment in our room. Stefania, who was in charge of the buffet, and the manager, Milena (?), went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided lots of info about Lecce. We even met the owners of the villa and got to tour part of their private apartments upstairs, including their fascinating art collection! The gardens are lush and include a small but lovely swimming pool. As there are only four guest rooms, you feel like you're there on your own most of the time. Door codes make it easy to let yourself in and out of the building and the gate which puts you in easy walking distance of the historic center's sights, shops and dining. We spent one day exploring the Roman amphitheater and theater and the vast collections of the archaeological museum, another visiting the cathedral (don't miss the crypt) and other Baroque landmarks, particularly Santa Croce, and the third in the city museum and doing some concentrated early holiday shopping. I can highly recommend Doppiozero, a farm-to-table restaurant near the Duomo/cathedral with a drinks menu worth exploring, and Gusto Liberrima. Both have plenty of outdoor seating and the latter is right next to Libreria Liberrima, a bookstore with lots of English-language books on offer. As for shopping, don't miss Manufactus, a store full of beautiful, handmade leather goods and stationery!

Somehow, my phone number was not forwarded to the folks at DImora Storica Muratore, and the manager was unable to reach us on our arrival day. This worried her considerably; fortunately we arrived just as she was on the phone to Booking.com, trying to reach us! The street right up to the hotel was under construction and on our first approach we couldn't figure out how to get there with the car. As soon as we reached the hotel on foot, the manager briefed us on how to stash the car in the guarded parking on the other side of the building and bring our luggage in via the back door. From then on, everything ran absolutely smoothly. The bathroom in our room was on the small side, but ingenious tiers of shelves provided enough space for our toiletries and the shower was perfectly adequate. Lecce was the high point of our stay in Apulia and Dimora Storica Muratore was the key to our magical three days in this beautiful, sun-bathed city. (See my photo of the house and garden!)

We had such a special stay at Dimora Storica Muratore** and spent seven wonderful days here while exploring Lecce and the surrounding area. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Lecce’s historic centre and an easy 5–10 minute stroll to restaurants, shops and all the main sights. Yet the beautiful palazzo is tucked away in such a quiet and peaceful location. Walking back at the end of a busy evening and leaving the bustle of the city behind was truly a blessing. Communication with Milena was excellent, even before we arrived. She responded quickly and patiently answered all of our questions. We were also able to reserve a parking spot for approximately €10 extra per day, literally just behind the property, which made having a car incredibly convenient. One of the things that makes this property so unique is that there are only **four guest rooms**, and the Muratore family lives on the first floor. They graciously open their beautiful family home to their guests, and during our week there, we truly felt welcomed like family. The pool was an absolute blessing, especially after a hot day of exploring Puglia. One afternoon we even shared the pool area with the family and had the pleasure of meeting the owners’ grandchildren. Maurizio, brought us taralli and coffee while we were relaxing by the pool and recommended a wonderful restaurant where we tried sea urchin pasta—one of those little experiences that made our stay so memorable. We also had the privilege of meeting Vittorio, Maurizio’s son, who graciously invited us into the family’s private living quarters and showed us their absolutely stunning home. Seeing the family throughout our stay and getting to know them a little made the experience feel so much more personal than staying in a typical hotel. Breakfast was another highlight. Stefania and Federica were so kind and even remembered our coffee orders each morning. We loved being able to enjoy breakfast on our own private patio.

This place was such a special spot. An oasis in a city. The location was superb, the team especially Melina were incredible and the space offered was so generous. We loved our stay, it was such a relaxing place to enjoy on downtime with the incredible gardens and pool.

This was truly a lovely and exceptional property. It tastefully blends the antique and modern without sacrificing comfort. The breakfast spread was delightful and the staff was amazing.

C'est un endroit incroyable ! Un havre de paix à 2 pas du centre historique de Lecce. Une maison de famille avec une Histoire et des hotes d'une telle gentillesse qui savent accueillir et vous donner envie de revenir. Le jardin est un petit coin de paradis avec sa jolie piscine.

The property is beautiful with a great location in Lecce's historic center. All rooms have private outdoor area where breakfast is consumed.

Minor details would have elevated the rooms and the total experience. This includes a more effective air condition (the room never gets really chilly), better use of the rooms floor space (like switching out a huge vanity with no light to do you make up any way with a sitting area or a sofa), a trash can for the room, and more than one grounded electrical socket (which weren't anywhere close to the bathroom).

We wish to express how my family and I appreciate the stay at the Dimora Storico Muratore. The proximity of the carpark as well as the old town make it strategically located for us to see the area. Breakfast was a delight - Stefania’s enthusiasm in introducing us to the local delicacies. Following how the locals live, we take afternoon breaks in the house after sightseeing. We appreciate the lush garden and pool for dipping when it was extremely hot. I enjoyed the common sitting area, reading a book and having a fruit or an icy drink. Glad to meet the owners during our stay, who let us view their home upstairs and shared a bit of their family history and heritage with us.

Wow,a perfect, beautiful place to stay in Lecce. Family and staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful if you need advice on local restaurants, sightseeing, beaches etc. We were here for my sons wedding nearby and Milena organised all our transport to and from the venue and anywhere we needed to go. Thankyou Milena and also to the staff and family that prepared our breakfast every morning with a smile . Gracie xx very highly recommended.

Breakfast was as described in the brochure - help yourself to a colourful display of fruits, pastries (homemade) protein foods cooked or cold and juices. Then, take the tray to the peaceful setting of the garden outside of your room (all set up for you) or take into the main garden - do as you please. Everything about the place was pleasing. It met all our expectations and a little more. The owners and staff were obliging, even speaking English.

Die Gastgeberin Melina ist eine sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Person. Insgesamt geht es sehr familiär zu in dieser Unterkunft mit nur 4 Zimmern und einem Pool in einem wunderbar gepflegten Garten. Es handelt sich um eine sehr exclusive Villa mit viel Geschichte. Das Frühstück war fantastisch. Man kann sehr gut entspannen mitten im Trubel der wunderschönen Altstadt von Lecce. Wir kommen wieder!

La posizione centrale, comodissima per visitare la città. La piscina nel bellissimo giardino con tantissime piante, tutte diverse e catalogate. La direttrice e tutta la famiglia Muratori, sempre pronti ad esaudire ogni desiderio, con cortesia e gentilezza. Parcheggio per l'auto comodissimo, hanno una porta secondaria che esce proprio davanti all'entrata. Arredamento molto curato e con gusto.

The property is well located in proximity to the historic centre as it’s virtually in the wall of it. There is a car park adjacent making parking convenient though pricey at 30 euro a day.

Apart from your room, there is really nowhere to sit and relax other than the garden area if weather permits. It Breakfast was served too late at 8.30 am. A small Nespresso type machine in the room would have been great.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here as part of our honeymoon in Puglia. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel special, and only having 4 rooms means you’re made to feel part of the family. We even had the bonus of being shown around the family home which made it even more unique. The breakfast was incredible, prepared by hand and we were shown how to eat local dishes. The location is perfect, the Duomo is 5-10 mins easy walk, so we were able to enjoy a full day of exploring Lecce. Parking was easy for us as it was a weekend, we parked on the street for free until Monday morning charging hours. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lecce.

Outstanding property in every way but it is the way the Muratore family welcome you as part of their family which makes it unique and very special. The position is perfect and so close to everything and the garden oasis is a delight and I’m sure in hot weather the pool would be wonderful. The staff were all amazing and helpful in every way so thank you Milena and Stefania. We loved our breakfasts each morning, especially the last morning in our courtyard. The car park at the back door was also a great convenience.

Staying here was such a unique and authentic Italian experience. Tucked right into the heart of Lecce, the accommodation stands directly on the original 16th-century city walls, which is just breathtaking. Since there are only four rooms, it feels incredibly intimate; the owners live on the first floor and are such a friendly family—meeting them and their lovely dog made us feel right at home. The rooms themselves are newly renovated, modern, and spotlessly clean. I was especially impressed that they provided ergonomic pillows, which made a huge difference for a great night's sleep. The highlight of the property is the stunning garden and the communal breakfast area, where everyone sits at one long table like part of a big family. As it was our honeymoon, they went above and beyond with thoughtful gestures, gifting us a traditional Puglian Pumo for prosperity and a little bottle of prosecco to celebrate. They even accommodated a late check-out for a very small fee, which we really appreciated. It was a truly special, high-quality stay.

Since the property is in the heart of the historic city, there isn't on-site parking, so we had to use a nearby paid car park. It cost us 30 euros for three days, which isn't a dealbreaker given the amazing location, but it is something to budget for if you're driving. I don't love the 10am check-out, it didn't affect us but i need to mention as all the accomodations moved the check-in very late and check-out very early.
