We stayed for 2 nights at Lakewood Residence on arrival in Kandy. Our first room was a basement room - smelt rather musty, but was comfortable. We were moved for our second night (without request) to a lovely room on the floor above. We enjoyed our stay both nights, and location is great. Breakfast was the best we ate in Sri Lanka - lots of options and everyone loved it. Staff were lovely- helpful and always available. Kids loved the pool. A very good experience overall.

We were extremely disappointed with this stay, particularly given that we had been offered an upgraded suite and were paying over £110 per night. At that price point, we expected a clean, comfortable and well-maintained room. Unfortunately, the standard was nowhere near what we paid for. The most serious issue was finding what appeared to be blood on the bed sheets. This was genuinely shocking and immediately made us question whether the bedding had been properly changed before our arrival and what standard of cleaning was being carried out between guests. Blood on supposedly clean bedding is completely unacceptable in any hotel, let alone in an upgraded suite at this price. The cleanliness problems extended well beyond the bedding. There was visible mould in the fridge and mould around the shower area, and the room generally felt very grotty, tired and poorly maintained. It did not feel like a properly cleaned or cared-for hotel room. The air conditioning unit was also leaking badly enough to flood part of the floor. We reported this to the hotel, but the response was extremely poor. Someone came to look at it, but rather than properly repairing the issue or offering us an alternative room, the apparent solution was simply to put a towel down to deal with the water. The bathroom setup was also very strange and uncomfortable. There were blinds covering a window in the bathroom that opened towards the common areas of the property. Regardless of whether people could actually see through clearly, it did not give any real sense of privacy and felt completely inappropriate for a bathroom. Noise was another major problem. The room was very noisy, which made it difficult to relax and added to the overall impression that this was not remotely the standard of accommodation we had paid for. What made the whole experience worse was the way our concerns were handled.

We went as a family to watch the Perahara festival. Perfect view of the temple of the tooth from the bedroom. 2 minute walk to the city centre and the mall. Attentive staff, great breakfast buffet with both Sri Lankan and western options. Bedrooms were comfortable, pool was relaxing (again with the view of the temple)

The location was great for walking to Kandy Lake, it was nice to have a pool although it does not look like the photographs anymore. It was good value for money to say it had a pool and the location to town. Breakfast was good and the staff were lovely and friendly.

It was quite run down in places, especially the pool area but we were only there for 1 night and it ticked all the boxes for what we needed.

It is located close to the center. The breakfast was good and in a room with nice views over the lake. We didn’t use the swimming pool, it looked nice to refresh and swim a bit.

We booked a room that had no sliding windows and when we arrived it had a big humidity smell. We were offered a room with sliding windows over the garden for 3000LKR extra per night or with views over the lake for 5000LKR extra per night. There are monkeys in the area so windows need to carefully be opened. I would recommend booking the rooms that face the back.

Die Lage ist hervorragend. Nur paar Meter den Berg runter und man ist schon in der Innenstadt.

Personal war nicht besonders entgegenkommend. Wir hatten ein Gamilienzimmer und das Zustellbett war wirklich klapprig und unbequem. Es gab zu wenig Decken. Der Pool ist eiskalt.

Comfortable bed, staff were lovely, views amazing and location. Breakfast was tasty. It was clean and great value for money will recommend.

The hill to get to the hotel doesn't accommodate customers with large suitcases especially when wet. Also clearer signs to the hotel is needed.

Sweet little hotel with very comfortable, spacious and clean rooms, nice bathrooms with hot water. It's perched up on a hill overlooking the lake- we didn't get room with lake view- wish we had but i think it wasn't an otion for the family room. The restaurant served a lovely breakfast buffet with lake views ( tried curd with honey for the first time and it was delicious!). The hotel is very well located within easy walking distance of Kandy town and all major attractions including the cultural dance which was at a hall just up the road.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per una notte con la nostra famiglia di quattro persone, insieme ai nostri due bambini di 8 anni e ci siamo trovati bene. La posizione della struttura è uno dei suoi principali punti di forza: l'hotel gode di una splendida vista sul lago di Kandy e sul Tempio del Dente di Buddha. Attraverso una comoda scalinata, in pochi minuti è possibile raggiungere il centro della città, rendendo molto semplice visitare le principali attrazioni. Il personale si è dimostrato estremamente gentile, cordiale e disponibile. Grazie alla loro cortesia, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di soggiornare in una camera con vista sul lago, dalla quale abbiamo potuto ammirare uno splendido tramonto con il Tempio del Dente di Buddha sullo sfondo: un panorama davvero suggestivo e indimenticabile. La camera era confortevole e la colazione molto varia, con un'ampia scelta sia di specialità tipiche dello Sri Lanka sia di proposte internazionali, adatte a tutti i gusti. Consigliamo questa struttura a chi desidera visitare Kandy soggiornando in una posizione panoramica, con un'accoglienza calorosa e un servizio attento alle esigenze degli ospiti.

Die Zufahrt zum Hotel war schlecht beschildert und schwierig zu finden.

Room : spotless with a beautiful view on Kandy lake. Location : great Kandy is very close by foot.

Staff : they wanted us to pay at the check in which is uncommon for a hotel. Also we had a problem with our trip and had to cancel one night, they refused to discuss a reimbursement. The pool was not as shown in the pictures. The value for the money was disappointing.

Chlodna woda w basenie. Materac - dostawka - bardzo niewygodny gdyz wlasciwie sklada sie z 2 materacy i laczenie wbija sie w plecy. Personel bardzo mily ale trzeba dlugo czekac na reakcje. Popsuty sejf i deszczownica. Drzwi od balkonu ciezko przesunac. Szkoda ze nie można było kupić w restauracji piwa choć być może przyczyną były obchody nowego Roku

Personalet var ekstremt søde. Dejligt rumligt værelse. Dog skulle vi rigtigt havde haft et standard værelse, som vi også var inde og se. Her var inden vinduer. Men vi fik heldigvis muligheden for at opgradere til en lækkert værelse. Morgenmaden var overvældende. Vi fik Sri Lanka morgenmad, der var så meget mad at vinken spiste 1/4 del og så var vi mætte. Det smagte dejligt og virkelig god service

Modernas instalaciones y habitación para explorar Kandy. La habitación ofrece todas las comodidades, cama muy cómoda y baño con una buena ducha con buena presión. El aire acondicionado funcionaba muy bien. El desayuno era tipo buffet con opciones saladas y dulces, esrilanquesas pero también occidentales. Las vistas de la ciudad de Kandy desde aquí son muy bonitas y se ve el recinto del Templo del Diente con total claridad.

Para llegar al alojamiento hay que subir una empinada cuesta, aunque no es problema del alojamiento si tienes problemas de movilidad, puede ser un obstáculo.

The staff were really attentive and the location is excellent. It is up a steep hill which has a couple monkeys. We were allowed change to a lake view room when we arrived.

We were the only ones in the hotel at the time which was a bit strange but not their fault given everything going on in the world. The photos aren’t really that accurate - the pool area could do with a clean and revamp.

Comfortable, clean and I was upgraded free of charge to the room overlooking the lake. Absolutely gorgeous!

Does not match the pictures or description at all. First thing you see, when entering hotel is rubbish all over and trash can. There is no restaurant!! Dirty pool and the area.

A perfect stay with nothing bad to say! We upgraded our room, and the view was definitely worth it. The breakfast was also lovely with so many different options to choose from. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and supportive once they listened.

However, there were delays in responding to requests. Room phone and TV were not functioning always. Location was good, however, the positioning of the hotel was not described as been very hilly and uphill for those with mobility issues. Also, the road was narrow for any vehicle the size of a tuk tuk only to get there.

屋内のプールは少し水温が低く、しっかり泳ぐには冷たかったのが唯一残念でしたが、雰囲気は抜群です。

El acceso desde el centro de la ciudad subiendo una pequeña colina. Para alguien con problemas de movilidad quizá no sea la mejor opción aunque la zona era súper tranquila. Una cosa compensaba la otra.

Hotel meraviglioso con una vista mozzafiato sul lago di Candy e sul tempio del dente di Buddha. L’hotel offre tutti i servizi disponibili ed è anche a due passi dal zona del lago nella quale si può andare per fare una bella passeggiata o anche semplicemente per fare un giro nella città, anche perché il resto della zona è molto più caotico, quindi l’ideale è proprio questo.

Forse è un po’ scomodo, perché è in una zona in salita rialzata, ma se si arriva tranquillamente in auto o in tu tutto ok è molto comodo.

Very convenient location to Kandy lake, although if walking it’s a steep hill up and down to the town. Large rooms; good generous breakfasts; helpful reception and cleaning staff. It’s a small “boutique” hotel.

Location can be tricky for drivers to find. Pool temperature is very cool. Take notice of the signage about monkeys - they won’t trouble you if you keep the doors shut.

Outside the place not clean. Staff not friendly and helpful.
