The location, views and aesthetics of the hotel are exceptional The location in a gated community makes it feel safe.

Staying a few days meant the fixed menu for dinner felt repetitive. It took a couple of days for my wife's gluten free requirements to be met.

Herrlicher Ausblick und allgemein sehr schön gepflegte Anlage.

Bett/Bettwäsche hat sich bei Ankunft feucht angefühlt, da sehr kalt draußen. Zum Glück hat es in Betten Heizdecken gegeben. Im Badezimmer in der Dusche Duschgel+Shampoo sehr hoch am Glassbrett. Duschgel+Shampoobehälter ebenfalls aus Glas, somit ziemlich hohe Gefahr, dass es beim Duschen ausrutscht und Zerbricht.

Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich. Und die Aussicht und die Ausstattung waren traumhaft

The hotel advertises itself as a 5‑star establishment, but my experience did not reflect that standard. Netflix, DSTV and other channels were unavailable due to accounts needing a top‑up, and the hotel was unable to resolve this during my stay. The location is also problematic: it falls outside the UBER service area, forcing guests to rely on hotel‑arranged taxis at nearly double the usual cost. The rooms feel outdated and in need of refurbishment. The only truly 5‑star elements were the excellent breakfast and the outstanding staff, who were consistently friendly and attentive.

Everything was wonderful The last time I stayed here was in the hotel side and this time myself and my work team stayed in the apartment blocks - great choice we each had rooms to share and fully equipped. We also had to leave super early so unfortunately we missed the amazing breakfast buffet but the staff was lovely to accommodate us with packed breakfast packs. Thank you so much

The only thing I would say is that I had requested 2 single beds in 3 out of the 4 rooms as we were on a work trip and all the beds were double beds. Luckily my team were ok with that but perhaps just a note for next time. Thank you 🙏

A few small errors with room condiments missing... and upholstery needs to be cleaned

We were told that the hotel is under new management and decided to give it another go. Were we mislead, same challenges just different managers and nothing has changed! What a shame!

We were accommodated in the Annex. The building has six rooms. It has a huge drawing room and kitchen. Building is fairly new and was very clean.

Two rooms in the first floor are quite a let down....not because of the size of the room, but because of the more than steep ladder one has to use to access the first floor. This steep wooden ladder is a huge dampener for people with limited mobility. The ladder needs to be replaced with a circular one, that will be easy to climb

The SkyVilla is located remote from Plettenburg high up on a hill in a compound. Seaview also means mcDonalds and gasstation view. With continual roadsounds. You can only reach the livelyhood and beaches by an 8 minute drive. The hotel belays class. Though during our stay in low season there were no other guests. And then it really is remote and quiet. The room was clean and staff friendly, a little distant, maintaining their attempt at class. I can't figure why shower liquids are put in a glass bottle placed 1m70 above the tile floor. Though the included continental style breakfast was a joy to see, add-on's are expensive. Lunch and diner á la carte did not give us the best experience; fine taste, but wrong type chips, not entirely heated boboti, malve, without any notice, served with icecream instead of traditional custard as on the menu (the excuse being the custard gone bad. Then at least tell us when you serve out) Iy was a shame that, being the only guests, when trying to get a drink at the bae to take up at 22:02, with 4 staff members right there, the TV and the register still on, we got a 'no, bar is closed' response. For us., we were relocated here from the sister place we booked, but we wouldn't recommend Sky Villa. Boitique hotel.

Location was good..

In annexe,I was allotted a room at the first floor..Stairs were actually dangerous and not at all user friendly..one may fall down while going upstairs and coming down with the luggages..I made a request to change my room many a times but they ignored it..They were quite insensitive. Room size was also not upto the mark becox of sclant roof.. Guests may keep this in mind while booking annexe part of this hotel..

Myself, my husband and two friends visited mid week to have sundowners and possibly dinner. Despite the place being fully lit and tables set it was completely empty and we were turned away. We were advised that if we made a reservation and came back in one hour, they would’ve been happy to service us. Or we could’ve sat and waited for an hour and then they would’ve served us. But despite having several Staff wandering around with no customers, we could not even have a glass of wine while we waited an hour. This is not a place where you can walk down the street and have a drink somewhere else and then come back to, it’s a drive to town as it’s situated very much out of town in the grounds of a private housing development. I failed to understand how this is a good business practice. Don’t think I will bother going back again.

Sky Villa offers a magnificent, high-end experience with stunning panoramic views of nature. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and spotlessly clean. Staff are highly professional and the service is excellent. Perfect choice for a peaceful, luxury getaway!

Das Hotel liegt mit den Zimmern zur Seeseite mit Blick auf McD und die deutlich hörbare N2, mit Motorenlärm. Der Balkon war nicht schön, ebenso die Sicht, das Zimmer nicht schlecht aber für den Preis hätte man mehr erwarten können. Das Bad war enttäuschend, erinnert an einfache Hotels, aber sicher kein 5* Standard. Da wir uns den Urlaub nicht verderben wollten, sind wir direkt wieder abgereist. Der Versuch eine Erstattung zu bekommen ist gescheitert, man hat uns allerdings einen frei-Aufenthalt in den nächsten 12 Monaten angeboten, mit dem Hinweis dass man gerade renovieren würde und wir dann eins der renovierten Zimmer bekämen. Nett, aber keine Option unter den gegebenen Umständen. Achja, wer wie ich die Bilder der Skybar so toll fand, und vom Pool - die waren wegen Renovierung geschlossen. Wird bei der Buchung nicht erwähnt, alleine das wäre schon eine Entschädigung wert.

Stayed in one of the guesthouses. Beautiful facilities, excellent security (the hotel is within a gated community). Outstanding views from the top of the hill.

Location and views convenient

Tv entertainment had previous searches of porn on internet, the dining only offered one white wine chardonnay by the glass. For a second glass of the same requested, I was offered a pinot gris. Saïd no but wanted the same Chardonnay which arrived after my dessert was finished…. Found the food fine, but wine side poor, especially when they advertise wine cellar,etc. Would have gone elsewhere had I known . In addition requested a fire in the room on arrival. It was lit but died within 30 min. So house was freezing after dinner.

The views are spectacular. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly and polite.

We didn't have any dislikes. We would just say that the bed linen is quite starchy and is noisy when changing position when lying in bed. Softer linen would be less disruptive while sleeping.

We liked the sky bar, the room, the dining room and the gardens. The staff were professional and polite. The breakfast and dinner was very good also.

- Não gostamos que nos indicaram um motorista para nos levar de táxi até o centro da cidade, e ele nos cobrou 400 rands, valor totalmente abusivo. Nos sentimos explorados!

view great bar a little overpriced staff very sweet but needed extra training.

Silly thing to complain about, but it felt like the bar/patio area really needed comfier, more lounge-like furniture. What was there was quite stiff. I also felt the bar was a little overpriced. I booked because I saw there was a spa facility, but when i arrived, the spa wasn't available at all.

The hotel is located within a residential estate, quite far from any amenities, which makes it inconvenient. The photos online are misleading and make the property appear much better than it actually is. The staff are acceptable but not particularly attentive, and service is very slow. The rooms are poorly insulated—you can hear everything happening in the corridors, which affects overall comfort. The cement flooring in the rooms feels cheap and out of place. For the price paid, one would expect the food to be of a high standard, but it is quite mediocre while still being expensive. Overall, this was not an enjoyable stay and certainly does not meet the standards of a 5-star hotel.

Zusammengefasst: das Hotel entspricht bei weitem keinem 5 Sterne Hotel. Die Zimmer waren nicht nur dreckig, sondern die gesamte Ausstattung war stark abgenutzt und wies einige Schäden auf, hier aufgelistet: - Insektennest auf dem Balkon - Bettpolster verunreinigt durch tropfendes Wasser/Auslauf aus der darüber hängenden Klimaanlage - Bettlaken mit Rückständen und Flecken - Schlieren an Wänden und Schränken - Wasserschaden an Badezimmer Unterschrank - Toilettenspülung funktionierte nicht richtig Fazit: wir wollen keine Nacht in diesem Hotel verbringen und haben uns ein anderes gesucht. Wir haben uns direkt nachdem wir das Zimmer gesehen hatten an die Rezeption & die Managerin vor Ort gewandt. Zunächst wurde uns ein kostenloses Abendessen und eine weitere Zimmerreinigung angeboten. Dies löst nun die Mehrheit der obigen Punkte nicht. Später wurde uns ein anderes Zimmer angeboten (diese sind jedoch alle aus dem gleichen Jahr und ähnlich abgenutzt). Am Tag drauf bat uns der Manager ein Glamping Zelt an was neu war. Was wir ablehnten, da wir explizit ein Hotel Zimmer für unseren Aufenthalt wollten und kein Zelt. Um die Situation für beide Parteien zu klären baten wir um einen Preisnachlass. Darauf ging die Hotelleitung nicht ein und nun werden wir nach wiederholten Mails geghostet. Wir sind im schönen Guesthaus untergekommen und es hat alles super funktioniert, keine Probleme mit den anderen Gästen gehabt. Sehr schönes Haus mit eigenem Pool. Abendessen und Frühstück im Restaurant waren sehr gut.

Friendly staff but can be slow

Das Frühstücksbuffet und auch das Essen im Restaurant war erste Klasse. Das Personal ist super freundlich - selbst der Manager hat sich nach unserem Wohlbefinden erkundigt. Unser Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich. Das Hotel befindet sich in einer sicheren Gegend nur etwas weg von der Innenstadt (uns hat das aber nicht gestört).

Lage und Ausblick sind sehr gut.

Das Personal war im Vergleich zu allen anderen Unterkünften auf unserer Reise deutlich reservierter und machte vor allem einen schlecht ausgebildeten Eindruck. Es gab 2-3 Ausnahmen im Service, aber sonst wirkten viele Angestellte recht lustlos. Schon beim Check-in fühlten wir uns mehr als Belastung denn als willkommene Gäste. Die Qualität des Abendessens entspricht bestenfalls Kantinenniveau.

Wir waren im Gästehaus des Hotels und dieses war sehr modern und schick eingerichtet. Die Zimmer selbst sind doch recht klein, was für einen kurzen Aufenthalt aber ausreichend ist. Frühstück gibt es im Haupthaus und das war wirklich sehr gut. Man kann zusätzlich zum Buffet noch kostenfrei a la Carte Eierspeisen,French Toast und Ähnliches dazu auswählen. Ebenfalls werden auch Kaffespezialitäten auf Wundch gebracht. Generell ist die Hotelanlage sehr sauber und gepflegt. Kostenfreie Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Die gesamte Hotelanlage ist eingezäunt und überwacht und durch ein Gate zu erreichen

Die Lage des Hotels. Man ist schon ein wenig ab vom Schuss. Wir wären gern zentraler in Plettenberg gewesen.

The view is outstanding! The property is quite nice with sophisticated features and beautiful landscape. The room was comfortable and well appointed. There was ample space for parking and the staff was pleasant.

The hotel is in the middle of a residential complex away from shore and close to a garbage dump. The whole complex looks quite artificial and stuck in the middle of a more industrial area. Once you are outside the gates, you are in a different environment that does not look like where you would want to spend your vacation

My wife booked this, and I was a bit sceptical about the location! However it's set within a stunning gated community, with great views across the bay. We ate in the restaurant all nights and the food was top notch, we both agreed we would 100% go back.

Nothing springs to mind, you could literally stay within the complex and have a great few days of R&R. Your a few minutes drive from a retail park also, which is great for anything you may need.

Not much. Staff were nice and tried, but property was a real disappointment.

We booked the cottage for four adults via Booking.com 9 months ago and were contacted two days before arrival by the hotel to say the accommodation could not sleep 4 adults and we were moved to the annex where we had to share kitchen/pool/living space with 8 strangers and not what we had booked and paid for. Very disappointing. The property is some distance from the beach on a residential community so little privacy and building works taking place. Residents’ dogs in the pool and cat in the kitchen. The most expensive property on our trip and absolutely the worst!

Das Guesthouse ist sehr schön eingerichtet mlt eigenen Pool. Und sehr modern gestaltet. Auch das Haupthaus wunderschön und die Aussicht beim Frühstück ein Traum. Das Personal ist ausserordentlich Gastfreundlich.

Die Zimmer im Guesthouse sind sehr einfach eingerichtet und vorallem vom Badezimmer habe ich mehr erwartet. Die Toilette wird jederzeit aus der Wand fallen (fühlt sich sehr instabil an) Generell Badezimmer sehr klein.

We loved our two days at Sky Villa, especially the amazing service by the team, with so many special treatments and such a positive vibe. The rooms have a stunning view, the beds are comfy, and the gym is super well equipped. Can highly recommend it!

Die Ausblick aus dem Restaurant ist atemberaubend. Wir waren im Gästehaus untergebracht. Es hat eine tolle Einrichtung, allerdings ist das Dachzimmer eher klein und eng.

Die Zimmer im Dachgeschoss des Gästehauses sind für ein 5-Sterne Haus eher eng und klein.

Bar fridge leaked and we had water pooling on the floor next to the bed each morning. Curtains were beautiful but had some sort of red fruit squashed into the fabric.

Magnificent views across Plettenberg Bay. Attentive and very friendly staff. Not forgetting the brilliant breakfasts. Either easy (taxi) access into town or dining in the very good restaurant.

Since booking this hotel I’ve seen some negative comments about the worthiness of 5 stars but I had a lovely stay and couldn’t fault the hotel. The access is a bit odd, into a private gated community, but that removed any security fears. We were created with champagne and given a tour of the hotel. Our room was huge with lots of amenities and we had a nice surprise of petit fours in the evening. The room had a large sun terrace with loungers and chairs. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, our meal was lovely and good value. Breakfast was amazing, a huge choice and very nicely presented. They looked after my gluten free needs very well. Due to the location you do need to drive if you go out into Plettenberg. I would definitely stay here again.
