Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The staff were very welcoming. The bedroom extremely comfortable. The food was exceptional. The house was beautifully furnished and the gardens were well kept. We have been to Brockencote Hall many times and it doesn't disappoint.
There was nothing I didn't like
Everything! The setting, staff, (especially Josh behind the bar), room, facilities just perfect.
Nothing
Beautiful location, very friendly staff and rooms beautifully appointed. Beds super comfy snd the hotel has been maintained to a high standard.
The windows only opened about 7 inches and the room was extremely warm and stifling despite the fan. I hardly slept. No air came through into the room as it was much cooler outside. I will only visit in the winter months. Nothing is set up for the warmer weather. Also the plug in my bath was not working, someone came up to check and perhaps fix it but it never was repaired so the baths I was looking forward to never happened.
Have stayed here for years - it’s always good -
The decor is somewhat tired with even ripped curtains in the library . And probably in fact the worst dinner I’ve ever had there .
Amazing building & 24hr bar
Very outdated and it was very hot but no air con or fans allocated. 1 per room.
Amazing staff. Lovely ambience. Great big room and bathroom. High quality toiletries. Lovely grounds, well maintained. Walking distance into the village with two cosy, traditional pubs.
The food is of high quality but we had to return one starter as at £50 for two they gave us one tiny scallop each. That wasn't acceptable. They did accept it though without problem and took it off the bill. The château briant was to die for.
The views surrounding the hotel, are absolutely stunning. From checking in to checking out, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were light airy, and had everything you could want.
Nothing
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
Профессиональный персонал. Вкусная еда. Атмосфера.
Отсутствие кондиционеров. пыльный вентилятор, который разбрасывал пыль вокруг себя. Очень много пауков.
The atmosphere was great and all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous building and grounds that gave you the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The assistant restaurant manager Luke was extremely friendly and really took the time to get to know you which added a personal touch to the experience.
The staff are so helpful and the customer service is excellent . Lovely added extras and attention to detail makes this a very special place to stay
Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. The Executive room was a nice generous size. Check in was excellent, liked that we were shown to our room and facilities explained. The room had everything you needed, inc robes, slippers, toiletries, drinks. It was the small added touches like homemade flapjacks that made it feel special. Dinner was wonderful, cocktails excellent and breakfast very good and included in the rate to make it good value. Lovely dining hall, bar area and grounds. Service was top notch. One of the best hotels we've stayed in here in the UK.
The room windows could only slightly be opened. It was a hot night and an air conditioner would have made the room more pleasant in temperature. If you really want to push the boat out, get some deer and peacocks!
Lovely surroundings. Nice staff. Very clean. Good breakfast.
Poor food choices in bar. Restaurant not open early part of week. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable. Bar prices very high.
Lovely hotel, we stayed in the lodge which was really comfortable, staff were outstanding and food was excellent. Later check out and the Breakfast hamper was a welcomed treat.
The living area was a little cold, we couldn't seem to get it up to a comfortable temperature. A couple of blankets would have come in handy but it didn't affect our stay.
Location
Room was too hot: sink taps just dribbled cold water: shower was scalding hot: noisy building with other guests going to & from rooms: view of roof & roof light (very ugly): dreadful breakfast (even though prebooked as vegan breakfast required): see pic.
Nice staff and atmosphere. Good rooms in nice surroundings. Very good food
Check in and out a bit prolonged and painful.
100% amazing. Coming from Perth Western Australia you sure don’t get to see these beautiful old yesteryear places.
Not a thing
Beautiful setting, very spacious room and exceptional staff.
Nothing it was perfect.
Wonderful property. Greta location. Staff were so welcoming. I had a guest from Dubai who stayed the staff attention was on par with their 5 star hotels
Water pressure issues in my room
Beautiful country house hotel. Staff welcoming. Restaurant very good.
Too pricey!
Uncomplicated menu, good options and plate sizes. Staff attentive and meal arrived hot. View onto grounds was spectacular. Bar was well stocked, thoroughly recommend Tom’s Negroni!
No improvement needed, options covered all bases.
Everything, the setting the staff and the food
It taking 1 hour for our cooked breakfast to arrive on morning one.
Friendly, helpful staff and beautiful surroundings Clean, comfortable beds and a lots of hot water
There was nothing to dislike
We have stayed here before 3 years ago. The rooms are lovely but are showing signs of wear and tear since our last visit.
No one one reception for several minutes when we arrived to check in. Breakfast disappointing - food was mediocre and staff were not present at all after food was brought up so we were unable to raise issues.
Everything, especially the friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing
It was all excellent
Nice range of food from small plates to a la carte and good quality. Lovely rooms clean and well presented and really helpful staff
How refreshing it was to come to a hotel where the staff obviously really do care about the guest experience and what a difference it made to our stay. Thank you all for a wonderful night with dinner and breakfast.
excellent. service and food.
Everything. Aoife was wonderful, happy to help in every way.
None
This is a lovely hotel with excellent service and big comfortable rooms. We had paid for half board so were very surprised when we were hit with a ‘discretionary’ service charge when we came to leave. We thought everything had been paid upfront. Dinner was excellent but breakfast was extremely ordinary, No better than at a Premier Inn or equivalent. The excellent service and convenient facilities were somewhat marred by the constant reminders that if we were to take anything home we would have to pay high prices for the replacement. This was particularly ridiculous in relation to a book which had been left in our room, supposedly chosen especially for our enjoyment. It had obviously come from a charity shop for £2.99 and was quite battered. We don’t have a problem with this but apparently had we chosen to bring it home with us. we would’ve been charged £7.50.
The location was stunning.
Very hot weather so lack of air con was a problem but that’s the beauty of older hotels and would not be an issue most of the time.
Location & staff
Although we had one of the cheaper rooms for a one night stay only found out that the shower didn't work the morning of check out this was reported & we where then told its normally ok in that room as thats the room the staff use. We where not impressed by that comment from the reception staff .
Setting very beautiful
Cost of dinner was high and prices were not clearly displayed
Breakfast was lovely, we both had the full English and it was very good
Dinner was very good but maybe some vegetables with the main course would be a welcome addition.
Ate in the bar area. Excellent food and knowledgeable about gluten free requirements. Room was well decorated and some nice finishing touches. My only criticism was that the shower should be updated
The building and its setting. Nice, comfortable bedroom.
The lack of a real a la carte menu. The rather limited menu obliged one to choose 2 or 3 courses which were tasty but strongly reminiscent of early nouvelle cuisine in portion size. Fine by us as we eat lightly but over-priced by comparison with other favoured restaurants.
Delightful property!
Beautiful hotel, the most comfortable bed and attentive service from staff. Bartender made the best old fashioned drink my husband has ever had. Will definitely be back
We stayed for a family wedding close by. Beds were very comfortable. Bath could have been cleaner. Otherwise if we needed to be in the Bromsgrove area again, we would definitely come back!
Staying here felt like the ultimate indulgence, and so comfortable too. Everyone we interacted with from reception to the restaurant and cocktail bar were so friendly, knowledgeable and full of great recommendations - shout out to Harry for chatting with us about his cocktail making process and making the most amazing cocktail, with chili, that I've ever had! Dinner was a beautiful experience, every dish was beautifully presented and utterly delicious. The hotel itself and the grounds are so beautifully kept, it was just lovely to wander around and enjoy the place. We will be back for certain, possibly for one of the gourmet evenings.
Amazing from start to finish the staff were all so friendly and so helpful. The property itself is out of this world. Stunning!!!! I can’t wait to come back again
I would really recommend a spa - would add the cherry on top. Something as nice as this needs a gym, steam room and a pool with a spa facility
The food was amazing, both dinner and breakfast. The approach to the hotel really set the scene, it was absolutely beautiful.
Nothing
Fantastic property, very tastefully fitted out.
In places getting a little tired
Have previously stayed at the Brockencote and loved the hotel and it's location . Lovely staff and 1st class service levels
Location was handy for the place we were visiting Staff were pleasant and helpful Room and bed were comfortable
The room had cobwebs on the ceiling. Tiles cracked on bathroom floor. We thought the prices were extortionate £17.00 for a gin and tonic! No toast was provided with breakfast automatically, had to order it when I realised but by the time it arrived, my eggs were nearly cold. Lipstick on my teacup at breakfast.
Lovely breakfast, plenty of choice although would have liked the added option of hash browns and Heinz baked beans!
Nothing
A lovely setting for a quiet break
Very friendly Beautiful grounds Excellent Rooms
Toilet did not flush well. Room took a while to get warm
The ambience and super friendly staff
Too little time to enjoy it all!
Beautiful hotel in beautiful location . Staff excellent
No lift. Cold shower and toiletries half used. Disappointing breakfast. Three tries to get it right.
Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings the drive up to the hotel is impressive even in the winter. Our room was wonderful we stayed in a master double room in a corner room with double aspect windows looking out the front and side of the hotel towards the lake. The facilities in the room were excellent and the complimentary honey flapjack was delightful. The library room next door to the bar was lovely and cozy with the fire on and we enjoyed our afternoon and post dinner drinks in there. Our evening meal was lovely and there was a good wine list to complement your chosen food. The complimentary turn down service was lovely as they set out tea cups with relaxing herbal teas suitable for bedtime. The staff were courteous, friendly and provided an excellent level of service on a par with 5 star hotels. The breakfast was excellent and we sat at a table near the window with a lovely view out over the rear grounds of the hotel. It was a perfect relaxing overnight stay for me and my husband which is what we both so needed and we will definitely be returning.
Nothing
Breakfast was good. Service prompt. Local sausages were delicious Service was statchy
The staff were overpowering. Very efficient but very cold and unfriendly. They. Need to rel ax when serving you
Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Very comfortable rooms and nice bar and relaxation rooms. Very nice cream tea and breakfast the following morning. All the staff were very helpful and attentive, especially Victor who is extremely kind and helpful.
I didn't like the dinner menu. Much too limited and very little food at an extortionate price. Even some of the staff said they wouldn't eat in there! We also found all the cereal bowls hadn't been cleaned properly in the dishwasher and got a staff member to replace them at breakfast.
