Please note that it takes 4 hours to travel to the property from Kansai International Airport via public transport. When using public transport from Kansai International Airport, guests must catch the train departing at 14:32. Trains departing the airport at a later time will not take guests all the way to the property, as local transport will not be available by the time guests arrive in the area. The last train from JR Kii-Tanabe Station departs at 16:40.
If there is no public transportation between the ryokan and the nearest station due to weather conditions, etc., a free shuttle service will be provided. Call the ryokan from the station to use.
Guests eating dinner at the hotel must check in by 18:30.
Guests without a meal plan who want to eat breakfast and/or dinner at the hotel must make a reservation by 16:00 on the date of arrival.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Nous avons tout apprécié lors de notre séjour ! Le personnel est très accueillant, très professionnel ! Ils ont tout fait pour nous faire plaisir. Nous avons également très bien mangé, le Onsen est très beau et de belle taille. L’hôtel est situé à 10 minutes à pied du départ d’une très belle randonnée sur le Kumano Kodo ! Nous avons fait une boucle de 20 km, c’était splendide. Si vous souhaitez faire un parcours plus court, des bus vous amènent à d’autres départs !

Reviewed Aug 27, 2026Es ist ein Ort der Ruhe und Erholung. Wir waren dort 2 Nächte zu fünft als Familie in einem Zimmer. Durch die vielen öffentlichen Bereiche wie die Lounge und die Onsen konnte man sich gut zurückziehen. Es liegt sehr nahe am Kumano Kudo (10min zu Fuß) den man gut in einem Tag bis Hongu Teisha wandern kann
Einige Bereiche beim Onsen und die Bäder waren schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber es war alles sehr sauber

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026This Ryokan was a very special place. We had a room overlooking the trees at the back which was lovely. The room was huge and the tatami mats were beautiful. It had plenty of storage and we were very comfortable. The beds were made up every night and you slept on a thin futon on the floor. We doubled up the futons and found it very comfortable. The food at the Ryokan was very good, with some excellent dishes. It was a traditional Japanese dinner and the staff explained everything, we were even given a sheet with the information about all the dishes and the order in which to enjoy them. We stayed at the hotel for four nights and the dinners were never identical. They also were flexible and helpful with my dietary preferences. I just needed to tell them what I wanted the day before. The staff were just incredible. They were so polite, professional and helpful. On arrival, Taka gave us a map and suggested places to visit and things to do. It was very helpful, even though we knew what we wanted to see. He suggested we had a river onsen, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. We had a hire car, but it is possible to use local buses to get to the Taishas. The Kumano mountains area is stunning, the shrines and temples are unforgettable. This Ryokan has its own outdoor and indoor onsen, which we loved using every day. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay at the Ryokan such a special experience.
We didn't like the fluorescent lighting throughout the hotel. A more subdued form of lighting would be better. I didn't like the red carpet in the lobby.

Peut être un peu excentré par rapport au coeur de village ? Mais ils ont un service de shuttle pour vous emmener à l’arrêt de bus si besoin.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026お風呂がとても良かったです。湯質も開放感も最高でした。外国人のお客さんが多かったですが、お風呂も食事もしっかり和風、本当の日本の湯宿を体験したい人が来ている感じがしました。食事もとても美味しかったです。スタッフも感じが良かったです。ありがとうございました。
私としては特にありませんが、建物や設備の古さ、階段での移動が辛い人には向かないかもしれません。

The property is dated, and the rooms are far too basic the toilets old. The ryokan is isolated, and the nearby village offers no points of interest or charm.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026The facilities were beautiful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and spoke excellent English. Special shoutout to the large rooms with mountain views, and great Onsen open through the night.
Because of the remote location, guests are largely dependent on the hotel’s dining options. While the meals were high quality, they were often very large and elaborate; I would have appreciated a simpler menu option as well. One small area for improvement would be the atmosphere in the restaurant. The setting is intimate and peaceful, but there was sometimes quite a lot of noise when tables were cleared, with dishes being placed into trays and carts moved around. In addition, the Beatles music felt somewhat out of place and did not fully match the otherwise Japanese ambiance of the dining experience.

Small bean pillow was rock hard, and we both didn't find it comfortable. The room was too hot for the thick futon blanket so you were either too hot under or too cold without it.

Reviewed Mar 2, 2026We stayed at Yunominesou for 4 nights and it was an amazing experience. The staff are all very welcoming and super helpful with everything we needed. They helped us decide on which hikes to do and how to get there, answered a bunch of other questions we had, and overall made the stay very enjoyable. We also really enjoyed all of the meals and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions (one of us is vegetarian) and the food was delicious. The onsen was also a highlight of our stay and we really enjoyed it. We also did karaoke (super fun and found all songs we wanted), did laundry (very convenient), and the massage chair (a nice free perk). This is our second time staying here and would definitely come back next time!

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026El personal es muy atento, incluso nos llevaron en furgoneta a la parada del autobús por la mañana. La cena tradicional japonesa estuvo deliciosa. Y el onsen maravilloso. Aunque al reservar pone baño compartido hay toilet privado dentro de la habitación. La ducha sí es compartida, se encuentra en el onsen.
Las instalaciones son un poco viejas, sobre todo el toilet de la habitación. Pagamos por un desayuno que no pudimos comer al ser 100% japonés, no había ni café. Si te gusta el desayuno japonés paga por el desayuno, porque tenía muy buena pinta pero si te gusta desayunar café y desayuno occidental no pagues por el desayuno. La almohada es durísima!

Le onsen (due private esterne, due pubbliche interne con anche parte esterna) meritano molto! Lo stesso vale pera cucina!

Reviewed Jan 29, 2026Adorei a vista das montanhas. Quarto espaçoso para 5 pessoas. Staff super atencioso, que nos levou para Senninburo e para o ponto de onibus para seguirmos viagem. Jantar e café da manhã maravilhoso. Pensei que não iria saciar a fome meninos adolescentes que comem bastante, mas foi muito farto. Staff do restaurante excelente. Onsen muito agradavel mas com desgaste natural do tempo. Futon macio e enxoval muito bom. Gostamos muito das yutaka e do cha com biscoitos de boas vindas. Neste ryokan sentimos que viajamos no tempo e na cultura do Japão.
Para ser um ryokan mais autentico o vaso sanitario poderia ser separado do ofuro.

Reviewed Jan 22, 2026The staff were very friendly and extra helpful. They properly explained the features and facilities of the hotel, as well as the rules and regulations. They were also very prompt. Dinner was served exactly at 6:30PM. Talking about the dinner, it was exceedingly delicious and sumptuous. There were a total of 13 Japanese dishes, and the staff took time to explain how to eat them and in what order. The hotel also had both private and public onsens (shared with other guests). My friends and I had the best experience, given that we had just completed our Kumano Kodo. Breakfast was equally delicious. Lastly, we are deeply grateful to the staff member who drove us to the nearest bus station to ensure that we did not miss our forward schedule. Everyone, book your stay at the Yunominesou. It’s super worth it.
