- The property is a palace converted to a hotel. Therefore, it is very spacious, has very beautiful architecture, fantastic interior design for the rooms, and lots of beautiful lawn space.
- Very hospitable and polite staff that made our stay excellent.
- Restaurant was great and the food was delicious. Breakfast was excellent.
- The spa was very good and they bring the masseurs from Udaipur city.
- Bonus: the owner of the property was warm and welcoming and checked in about our stay.
- Bonus: they arranged for a birthday cake which was complimentary.
- The only thing is that it takes 45 mins to an hour to get to Udaipur city.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026What an incredible place!! Gogunda Palace is a real palace/fort where the great Maharana Pratap lived that was converted into a hotel. It is rich in history, very well kept and the hospitality is next level! The staff, service, amenities and the food in their restaurant were amazing! While the location is 40km away from Udaipur and might not be considered ideal by some, it makes up for it through the beauty, history, hospitality, service and charm. I would highly recommend Gogunda Palace for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a 16th century property full of history and wanting to experience high quality hospitality.

Nous étions en demi pension et franchement lz chef mérite un 5 étoiles, les repas étaient succulents et nous avions aussi des repas indiens ou occidentaux. Petit déjeuner tres copieux.
L'eau de la piscine est un peu trouble mais bon cela n'empêche pas la baignade. Et pour avoir de l'eau chaude il fait appeler la réception mais non rien de grave.

In spite of low occupancy(as said alone for 3 days) all facilities available for us
Room service, safety our bf+dinner package they prepare delicious food made to our order. And it was fresh and tasty.
Actually I cannot say anything because management did not give any chance to complaints so this section is not applicable to us

Courtyard and gardens, elegant rooms,with intricate paintings and wall murals, in the higher catagory suites. inviting pool and bar, delicious breakfast, very courteous and friendly staff, the Manager gave us tour around their beautiful property.. The only drawback for me was the availability of hot water but if you give the staff advance notice, they will sort this out for you.

The property is absolutely outstanding , Pristine , internally and externally.

Perfect for relaxation and meditation or just having a well deserved rest.
My suite was beautiful
The bedlinen , the mattress and the pillows help with an amazing nights sleep.
I had an outdoor shower in my en suite
The cleaning / housekeeping was excellent
Manager Natwar and his team are exceptional, discreet service , efficient , professional and always going that extra mile the staff really are a great team. F&B team really amazing
The food blew my mind the Tandor items were amazing , the chilli chicken also perfect
The chef really is a credit to Gogunda
The swimming pool was Devine as were the cocktails
Really this has to be one of my favourite hotels now in India

Amenities listed on the website were not fit to use at the property, also the staff's attitude regarding the same was pathetic. The property manager was filled with such an arrogance that reflected his take it or leave it attitude. Pathetic condition of swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Green algae was pouring out of it.

Reviewed Oct 30, 2025The Palace was excellent. Felt like a couple of royals staying at the Raaj Tilak suite. It's a piece of history. The staff was excellent and the food was great too.
The location of the place was through local slums off the highway. It caused a lot of chaos and tremendous traffic to reach the place. I don't blame the location as the Palace WAS built at that place but there should be a separate road connecting the Palace directly from the highway. Because they don't charge less and though you forget everything once you enter the Palace, you are reminded of it the very same second you step out!

Property is well maintained. Only drawback is it shares the compound with locals. Hence, if you climb the rampant for better view, you will be greeted with the sight of locals.

We had a beautiful stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the property is so peaceful. We loved it. It is about an hour from Udaipur which made it the perfect escape after a couple of busy days in the city. Others have marked it down for location, but for us that was part of the attraction.

The steps of the property will require an effort for seniors.

The lights were erratic so was the cable television. The food at the restaurant caused me to have diarrhea.

Just that the property is close to 50kms away from Udaipur city. If you have your own vehicle it’s convenient or else you’ll have to spend a lot of money on commutation. Also No ola and uber is available from Gogunda to city. however from City to gogunda ola and Uber are easily available.

Reviewed Nov 21, 2022If one is visiting Udaipur and wish to experience stay in real heritage property , "Gogunda Palace" is best option available. Palace has a rich history and direct connection with King of Mewar "Maharana Pratap." Since the palace was built in 15th Century and converted in hotel on as is basis i.e. without altering original structure of the palace ; all the rooms are of different sizes and with different interior. However, all the rooms are beautifully decorated with old style furniture and painting to give you real experience of stay in Palace. While location of palace is little away from Udaipur (30 to 45 minutes only), must visit places like Kumbhalgarh Fort , Haldi Ghati, Chittorgarh Fort, Nathdwara Shreenathji Temple can be conveniently visited from "Gogunda Palace". In fact, Udaipur City can also be covered by staying at Gogunda Palace. Staff of the hotel and restaurant is very polite and helpful. Due to low occupancy, if full buffet breakfast is not available, restaurant staff is happy to serve your favorite food on demand. Swimming pool of the hotel is very clean and well maintained. Overall, we recommend a stay at "Gogunda Palace" for real heritage and luxurious experience. We will definitely visit again.
