Heritage Highway Motel

Clean quiet location + best of all pets allowed so my dog was wirh me, its not so common in NZ compared to Europe where dogs are accepted in most places.

The motel is perfectly situated — easy to get around from here. The shower room is impressively large, a real bonus after a long day. Having a functional kitchen on hand made the stay so much more convenient. Would recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and practical place to stay.

The room was clean and had everything we needed. Location was a great base to explore Hokitika from. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was very close to the West Coast Wilderness Bike Trail which was useful for us.

Clean, comfortable, warm & modern rooms. Well appointed kitchen & bathroom. Good sized room with a big TV. Close to town & short car ride to beach.

On busy main road. Laundry room had dated machines which I didn't use.

Great location. And although a main road it was quiet in the unit. Good size unit for four people.

The shower got the whole bathroom floor wet after a few showers, no fan to help ventilate. We tried a number of times to buzz and call the staff for assistance and they were not around. When we did get hold of them the service was good.

Great location, close to local shops and eateries. Generous sized rooms. Very comfy beds, I slept like a log. Very clean rooms, bed linen and towels both crisp and fresh. Would definitely stay again and would recommend this property to other travelers.

Enjoyed the spacious area in living and bed area. Bathroom had all you need and plenty of space. Wonderful amount of hot water. Cooking facilities were enough for our needs and we cooked 3 out of 4 nights. Really good.

Mattress was very tired, time to have a firmer and more modern supportive mattress, but there was a spare single bed so we didn’t have to sleep in the same bed, a plus indeed.

Perfect location to explore Hokitika on foot, car or bike. Great parking. So peaceful at night. Comfy bed, Light & airy room, everything you need in self-contained unit. VERY CLEAN. Great value.

Can't find a negative. Was well run & felt safe for solo traveller. Tops.

The location was good (just on the edge of the town). The room is ok although showing signs of needing some attention to keep it up to standard. We stayed in NZ for 40 days and this place was just in the top 1/3rd of all accommodation we stayed in. The price is fair. Could be more with a little investment.

The bed has seen better days. Needs an extractor fan in the bathroom. Barking dog in the neighbourhood

Have stayed here a few times now. So well placed for shops and restaurants. The motel is well appointed and very comfortable.

It had two bedrooms and a sitting room which was great. It had a large bathroom and it is only a 5 minute walk to town.

It is quite basic but very clean and comfortable.

Nice clean place on the main road. Lovely bathroom. Comfy bed. Good Value Good Fish and Chip shop over the road and left at the roundabout.

A lot of noise from the railway taking product from the local factory. Only a couple of times though so not really an issue.

Location was good, rooms were clean and tidy and the appartement was quite large. It was actually quite calm at night during my stay even if it just next to the road.

The size of the two bedroom accesibility unit was huge. There was ample room for my father to move around safely. There were excellent kitchen facilities, table and chairs and sofas which made everyone comfortable and relaxed. I would love to stay there again,

Inhospitable staff/owner who would benefit from customer service training. We arrived 30 min before 3pm. Office locked and no-one to check us in. Left voicemail as directed on sign. No returned call. Host arrived back with zero acknowledgment to us waiting in the carpark (no other cars). Mentioned the wait and call at check-in and was met with a dismissive attitude and reminded check-in was 3pm. Room smelt badly of chemical/perfumed cleaner. Bed uncomfortable, pillows flat and no spares. One armchair for 2 guests. Advertised as non-smoking, but guest in next room smoked right beside our unit - lucky us. Ashtrays on all outside tables. I'd suggest somewhere else.....
