Only small thing was not knowing ahead that the restaurant was booked for a private function so we had to drive to a nearby pub rather than just chill.

Beautiful Hotel, amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel was so clean and comfortable.

This is in a perfect location for a stay in Chelmsford. A lovely building with no traffic noise, great character rooms. It was such a pleasure to stay here for a business meeting. So much better than the chain hotels at a great price and with free parking. I will definitely come back especially when the horse racing is on. My wife will love it. Thanks goes to the Channels team.

The room was a delight, clean and well equipped with everything I needed, the USB ports by the bed are a great idea. The breakfast at Channels Bar and Brasserie was well cooked. The staff at the hotel were helpful and charming. This was a fantastic place to stay, only which I had stayed longer.

The quality and detail of the rooms is exceptional. The onsite bar amd restaurant are spot on and always have good beer and food available.

Only stay here when working in the area.

It was modern and comfortable. Rooms were a nice size, bed was great and bathroom was very nice. The small details were done excellently - a bottle of tap water in the room, plug sockets by the bed, TV, air con, mini fridge (which you have to pay for but not extortionate). Overall a brilliant hotel and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

It was unclear where to go between the two channels businesses.

We had the quirkiest little room, I think it’s a bit of anomaly - very low beams and up some stairs and it was SO full of character we absolutely loved it. We only stayed one night and were gutted we needed to leave early in the morning. All staff were delightful; the room was so clean, the little touches like nice glasses for water, a cafetière, a little dressing table space were just fab. Also the air con was GOOD. Almost too good and had me and my other half in a battle over it 🤣 Desperate to find a reason to visit again one day!

Honestly if the bar were open an hour longer that would be great but requesting opening hours to change because I’m having a lovely time and want one extra drink wouldn’t make much business sense. There’s nothing for the hotel and stay I’d change that is a realistic ask.

Everything was just great, clean modern rooms, lots of space, beautiful surroundings.

We stayed in the Aspen Suite. Room was fantastic, staff very helpful, facilities excellent and location was perfect for us.

Location is easy to find, ample parking, grounds are beautiful, water fountain is peaceful, large baths and stunning decoration to rooms. Friendly and helpful staff.

Bed had big ridge in middle like springs coming through bed had no bath in room , and breakfast only scrambled egg which unable to eat also no mushrooms for the price would of expected choice egg and option of mushroom or tin tomatoes

The location was excellent and food at their restaurant was outstanding.

The Ash executive room I stayed in was very small, very low ceilings and for the money I was surprised it was advertised as an executive room. The cross beams were very low, I was told about them and this was a last minute booking so wouldn’t have stayed in this room if I’d had any other options

Excellent restaurant next to the hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at the Channels. The room, the breakfast and the staff were absolutely brilliant. The room was immaculately clean and everything around us looked prestin. Lovely location in the beautiful countryside. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed every minute of it. We'll definitely becoming back. The whole experience was just fabulous.

The cafe staff was eager to close down even before closing time. I had ordered coffee to come after our lunch, but when I came to remind them for it, 5 minutes to 3pm (when they're supposed to close), she was adamant that they're closing in a few minutes and can't make the coffee even though there were still many people in the cafe. With a bit of convincing, they made one for me, which took them less than a minute.

The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed, very impressed. Breakfast was well cooked with good options. The food in the restaurant was to a high standard and some slightly unusual choices, which is good.

It was cold in the room, especially in the bathroom which was very cold. There was a heater in the main room which was needed to support the lack of heat on the rooms.

Fourth time staying @ Channels for me, & as always did not dissappoint. Stayed in the Oak Suite, absolutely fabulous could not fault the room in any way whatsoever. Staff extremely friendly & helpful at all times. Grounds staff do an excellent job in keeping the outside spaces immaculate. Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone contemplating a visit.

The Brasserie by evening for Meals & Drinks again was exceptional. Food quality & service was really good, However we dined on both the Friday & Saturday evening in the Restaurant the food was very very good. One observation & criticism would be towards the younger members of waiting on staff, not sure if it,s lack of training or experience or a little lack of the two together but we were left almost 20 mins after being seated before we were asked what we would like to drink.! , also on the Saturday evening we had 2 water glasses on our table but no water.!! Not acceptable really, i had steak & was not asked how i liked it cooked!! & was not given a steak knife to eat it with. My partner observed 2 female members of staff stood at the Bar area chatting away to each other but not really paying much attention to what stage the diners were at regarding finishing starters, or Mains etc something i would expect of a Restaurant charging high end prices for high end cuisine. All in all a great culinary experience only slightly let down by perhaps the odd 1 or younger members of staff.!!

I found the venue exceptional in terms of attention to details and quality standard of room and amenities. The accompanying venue for food and drink made the stay so easy and enjoyable.

Lovely location, ample parking and spacious well kept rooms with comfortable bed. Breakfast & dinners were good. Bathroom was spacious and well designed. Very clean and well kept hotel.

Room was large, clean and gorgeous, had everything you needed for a night away. Staff were so friendly and helpful, check in was quick and painless. Like how tucked away it was, felt like we were out in the middle of the countryside. Dinner was delicious, and the vibes in the restaurant were cosy and welcoming.

Bit of a long wait for breakfast. Another table ordered at the same time as us and had theirs served long before us. Was delicious when it did arrive.

Lovely peaceful setting - we stayed in ‘Hawthorn’ which was very stylish. The on site bistro was closed but reception suggested an excellent pub nearby
