Noise coming from fan that constantly went on and off all day and night. One of our party went outside to sleep in vehicle because the noise was so bad. Shower near impossible to control temperature, dangerous as this is a family room!

The décor is dated, the bathroom was small and could do with renovating.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, particularly the upstairs housekeeper (sorry I forgot to ask her name) and Daniel who very kindly lugged my case upstairs so I could repack everything before returning home to Australia.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2026All the staff were excellent. They were all very helpful and it was a joy to stay there. Room was very. comfortable and bed very comfortable too. We ate dinner there and the food was really good. We would certainly recommend it to our friends. Linda Rose Brian and Arran and all the bar staff were very professional and kind. The lovely lady who was doing the rooms was also kind and helpful. The best breakfast too! Lovely fresh fruit, and cooked breakfast was super. The fresh smokie was delicious. We hope to return sometime.

Reviewed May 18, 2026Staff were brilliant, and the hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were a group of cyclists on our way up the coast, and the staff were really helpful at finding a secure location to store our bikes overnight. The hotel is just off the cycle path, and also in a great spot for walking along the beach in the evening, or heading out to one of the local restaurants for dinner.
The shower was either really hot or freezing cold, and it was very difficult for any of us to wash at a comfortable temperature. Also there was no vegetarian cooked breakfast options (other than eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes), and the waiter was very apologetic about this, but it seems like an easy thing to have some vegetarian sausages in the freezer, and on all my Scottish holidays I've rarely come across any bed and breakfast that doesn't offer some vegetarian meat alternatives at breakfast.

Reviewed Feb 23, 2026The rooms were clean and simple. Nothing too fancy but all your amenities were there and very comfy. Bathroom was very clean, kudos to the cleaners on keeping it immaculate. The hotel staff as a whole were amazing and that was what we really liked about our stay. Breakfast was great and nice choices were offered. Food was delicious, both tea and breakfast.
If I had to gripe about anything it would be the price of evening meals - but seriously the food was fantastic.

Reviewed Oct 5, 2025Staff were pleasant, had used before. Food good. Had breakfast which was substantial and filling for a day visiting the golf all day. And any evening meals we had offered choice in their menu.
Room could have been better. A squeaky toilet door which should be fixed, not a hard thing to do for a good joiner, made so much noise, trying not to wake up your residents next door during the night became annoying. should have been noticed well before putting paying customers into room and floor boards are also squeaky. It will not stop us visiting again, however please address the minor things that can become annoying when you are staying for a few days.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2025The staff was wonderful. The rooms are horrible. They all need remodeled and upkeep. There’s mold in my bathroom and the tub doesn’t drain, the shower curtain needs to be bleached. I would not want to stay here ever again. Breakfast looked charming. But I only ate the toast.

Really great staff as well, highlight was evening meal in the restaurant, pushed the boat out and had 3 courses, epic, all lovely, we were stuffed. Breakfast the next day was also really good. Will definitely be back, and yes, I would bring my wife here on a holiday as well as come back for a work trip. Hopefully be back soon

For those who don't partake in the full "Scottish" breakfast, I would have liked to see Granola and Museli on offer. Variety packs offered are something from the 70's so this was the only disappointment.

Reviewed Aug 21, 2025Il parcheggio gratuito nel cortile dietro all'hotel. La camera molto spaziosa e il bagno molto ampio. Bollitore per il te con tutto il necessario per bere qualcosa di caldo. C'è il ristorante ma non è niente di speciale.
Camera molto rumorosa per il treno, le auto che passano sotto la camera e le persone nelle altre camere, in pratica poco insonorizzato. Camera e bagno un po' datate. Manca un frigorifero anche piccolo in camera. La colazione non ci è piaciuta e l'abbiamo lasciata quasi tutta.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2025Stayed at The Station Hotel for 2 night's July, easy check in even after hours, room was big and clean albeit basic but had everything you would need, staff were very attentive and friendly, breakfast was amazing, dinner even better and very reasonable price wise, lovely bar and well stocked. Overall a very good stay would highly recommend a visit we will be back for sure.
