Staff impecável - deram-nos um mapa de Matera e sugeriram-nos um percurso pedestre pela cidade de modo a passar pelos highlights da cidade de forma não demasiado extensa, percurso este que se verificou muito acessível e com vistas incríveis da cidade; localização ótima, numa zona bastante calma e perto de imensos restaurantes. Pequeno-almoço com ótima vista da cidade.

The perfect location for Matera. What a view of the city! The reception gave us a map and told us how to get to all the sites easily, which was a godsend as so easy to get lost. They were also very flexible with check in time too. Staff very easy to talk to, very focused on making your stay perfect.The room was amazing, great aircon, and so was the bistro/breakfast area. The staff there excellent too. I would recommend the shuttle service if your bringing your own car. So easy and stress free.

The view itself is worth the money but we really enjoyed our room too. It's such an unique experienc!. The hotel staff was very proactive, friendly and helpful. They suggested a tour which was nicely paced, educational and fun. Having breakfast with the view was a highlight!

The bathroom floor could be a little slippery but nothing a few towels on the floor couldn't solve.

Our room was beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. The entire property has so much character, perfectly blending Matera’s historic architecture with elegance and modern comfort. The staff was exceptional—warm, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed. They made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our entire stay. This is one of those special hotels that becomes part of the travel experience itself, rather than simply a place to stay. A true 10/10 experience that we would highly recommend. If we return to Matera, we would absolutely stay at Palazzo degli Abati again. We loved every moment! 🤍✨

Un espai increïble des del qual conèixer una bella ciutat. Molt ben situat, habitació comfortable i ben decorada. Disposa d'una terrassa-restaurant amb vistes magnífiques i un bon esmorzar. El personal és molt atent i disposat a aconsellar-te.

Quando escolhi a acomodação booking me mostrou um quarto na caverna e não foi o que recebi . Me mandaram e-mail confirmando mas nem chequei por confiar no que escolhi . Chegando lá foi uma grande decepção . O quarto que me deram era ótimo só que não tive a experiência da caverna . O lugar é difícil para quem tem dificuldade para caminhar . Pedras, rampas, escadas. Não recomendo . Mas foi uma boa experiência . Eles tem um bistrô no rooftop com comida excelente e o café da manhã é lá. Te servem com muito bom gosto e classe . Amei . A vista é sensacional : em frente aos Sassis . Agora , achei o preço que paguei caro ,

Estar fora do prédio principal é as escada e pedras que são próprios do local , afinal está-se frente a uma cidade que começou a ser construída no século IX

La lumière dans les chambres, les chambres sont pleines est et le matin les rideaux n’empêchent pas assez la lumière de rentrer.

Це був неймовірний досвід ночівлі у номері-печері. Разом із прекрасною Матерою - це щось незабутнє . Дуже чисто, кондиціонер, чудове оснащення, зручне чисте ліжко. У ванній усе необхідне, не переживайте якщо щось забули, там навіть одноразові гелі для інтимної гігієни є 👏 А тераса- це треба бачити. Найкращий вид у місті. А які сніданки 🤩 Персонал дуже привітний і радий допомогти. Я рідко пишу відгуки але тут просто зобовʼязана розповісти людям про це місце. Дуже рекомендую.

Friendly staff. New plumbing. Clean and tidy. We stayed for one night and left our suitcases in the car trunk. We only took a backpack with the essentials, so the stairs weren't an issue for us.

Location was perfect and easy to find. A secure parking station is 5 minute walk away. The staff and instructions provided were perfect, as was there communication.

Amazing location and the rooms are the actual caves! Recommend to take a shuttle option to get to the accommodation form the parking lot. Everything is greatly organised and the breakfast was splendid.

The property was lovely and there was a restaurant/bar on top with great food and drinks. Also had the included breakfast which was great. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were pretty spacious. Really nice views of the old town.

I liked everything. If there was anything to note here it is that you cannot drive so you do have to walk your suitcases and then carry them down a few stairs, but that would be anywhere in the historic part.

We stayed for one night and what a location. Perfect view of Matera when the sun is setting. Got to be one of the best located hotels. Very close to one of the major Sassi's - old parts of town. Also very close to James Bind setting! Good rooftop restaurant where we had some really nice food.

Embora rustico a suite é muito bem organizada com chuveiro em torre com pressão de água forte e agua quente. Ar condicionado e aquecedor na suite. O Staff foi super prestativo. O Crialoss café é no mesmo espaço e onde tomamos o café da manhã ( a la carte / all inclusive) e com uma vista fantástica do Sassi (os hospedes tem 20% de desconto para uso fora do café da manha). Vista surreal

The view from the bar/restaurant is worth the stay alone, like something from a movie. A great location only a few minutes walk into the nightlife of Matera. Reception/host were really helpful and provided lots of great info and recommendations. A perfect stay for one night.

Spacious room, very clean and a comfortable bed. The view from the room was beautiful and the access to the sea amazing! Very calm during the night so we slept very well. Would definitely stay there again.

Amazing location, the view from the terrace was incredible. We had a cave room with glass floor to see the old bakery underneath. The customer service was amazing from the reception who spoke excellent English and explained using the map what to do where to go, very helpful. I would highly recommend this place to stay, wonderful experience and the cafe, breakfast and staff amazing too!

洞窟を美しく生まれ変わらせた部屋は素敵で、景観が素晴らしい。ホテルのBarからの眺めは最高です。朝食もとても良いです。今年はビュッフェではなくオーダーする形式でしたが、私たちはその方が良かったです。

ホテル自体には何の問題もありません。観光客が多い時間帯は駐車場へ入るのが大変です。

The property is well placed in the Sassi with beautiful views. The restaurant is good serving delicious food. The staff were overall friendly and helpful .

The restaurant was closed when we arrived on a Thursday and it is not possible to have a drink or any food at the hotel on this day other than what is in the bedroom. The beautiful views attract many influencers who are desperate to take their perfect photograph while you are dining !

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt und waren begeistert von unserem wunderschönen Cave-Zimmer. Das Zimmer war sehr großzügig geschnitten, stilvoll eingerichtet und etwas ganz Besonderes – wir waren von Anfang an fasziniert. Besonders praktisch war auch die Parkgarage, die nur etwa 5 Minuten entfernt liegt. Mit den Koffern mussten wir nicht viele Treppen bewältigen, was in dieser Gegend ein großer Vorteil ist. Das gesamte Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Außerdem hatten wir einen traumhaften Ausblick auf die Sassi, den wir jeden Tag genossen haben. Direkt neben dem Hotel befindet sich ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Als Hotelgäste erhält man dort 20 % Rabatt.

Nicht-Hotelgäste können auch an den Zimmern vorbeilaufen. Einmal kam es vor dass fremde Personen auf unseren Terrassenmöbeln saßen

Die Lage ist für Matera perfekt: tolle Aussicht von der Terrasse auf die Stadt; und das schon beim Frühstück. Frühstück ist extrem umfangreich , man kann von der Bistro Karte auswählen , was man und soviel man will. Selten so gefrühstückt, und das bei tollem Panorama. Unsere Höhlensuite war einfach super elegant und schön und ist sehr zum empfehlen, zumal man direkt davon eine Sitzecke hat, von der man Abends das Panorama des beleuchteten Matera geniessen kann. Das ganze Team ist ausgesprochen freundlich; Christina hat uns alles erklärt , was man machen sollte und hat uns perfekte Tipps für das Abendessen gegeben. Die Anreise mit dem Shuttle von P 4 lief einwandfrei - wie auch die Kommunikation mit dem Hotel vor der Ankunft.

Da gibt es gar nichts, was hätte besser sein können.

Beautiful room in a cave. Good looking and high end materials make the room authentic and luxurious at the same time time. The location is great, in the sassi, with easy access to the car park (the instructions, including a video, shared by the hotel make it even more easy. Very friendly and supportive staff. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended!

What an incredible location! The view from the terrace is probably the best we saw in Italy and having our (delightful) breakfast overlooking that view felt so special. The welcome from Cristina was very warm; she was a fantastic host and gave us lots of info and help. The staff generally were really responsive and easy to get hold of when you needed anything. We stayed in one of the cave rooms and it was very impressive with all the amenities you'd want/need. There is a dehumidifier to lessen the obvious damp that comes with being in a cave and the air con keeps you nice and cool. One thing we would note is that the bed on both nights felt quite damp and that effected our sleep quality. However, we didn't tell Cristina or the staff because we assumed we were just dealing with what is probably pretty much expected if you choose to sleep in a cave! Saying that, we haven't seen other reviews mention damp sheets so maybe this was out of the ordinary and something we should have flagged in retrospect. Aside from that, the stay was wonderful and we loved our time in Matera - we would love to return. Thanks for everything, Cristina and co! One more thing - if you have a rental car, I'd highly recommend taking the offer to park your car just outside Matera in a secure carpark and then use the transfer minivan to just outside the hotel - avoids too much sweaty walking with suitcases!

O acesso é difícil com malas, o estacionamento fica um pouco distante, mas é o preço a pagar que compensa. É um aviso, não uma crítica, se organize para descer com só uma mala. O estacionamento com transfer cobra por cada vez que você for retirar o carro, se for o caso melhor pagar o estacionamento coberto que tem próximo.

This place was stunning! The staff, Nadia, upon check in, was fabulous. Our room was lovely, clean and very unique. The view was amazing. Breakfast overlooking town was breathtaking. The food was delicious and great options were offered.

The beds (we had two twins) were very small.

Die Lage, der Charme, der Empfang von Cristina und die Ausstattung des Zimmers waren sehr gut. Die Aussicht atemberaubend und Service vom Restaurant Crialoss sehr freundlich.

Leider hat es keinen Gepäckservice. Die Zimmer sind nur per Steintreppe erreichbar. Eine 4 Stern Unterkunft muss diesen Service anbieten. Cristina, die Rezeptionistin, hat uns freindlicherweise ihre Hilfe angeboten. Danke Cristina.
