Thymus Residence nei Sassi

Amazing experience in the heart of unique Sasso in Matera in a cave appartment made in what was originally an abandoned medieval chapel. Spacious, full of light, nocely decorated with great spa area and a private pool in tye basement. Great selection of wines in the room offer and drinks in the mini bar. Great breakfast on the nearby piazzetta. Very friendly manager and staff. If you want to spoil yourself with something extraordinary, this is it. The Sassi and all the landmarks are walking distance. Plenty of restaurants around.

All was genuinely perfect. The only thing is that in the other bedroom there seemed to be a bit of an issue with humidity control

Location was great - could walk everywhere. We enjoyed the included breakfast as well.

The room had a bit of a smell - but I believe it's just part of staying in a rock! I also thought I had booked the room with the pool, but turns out we had the turkish bath which is more like a sauna. Confused caused by the booking site.

Thymus was a wonderful experience, excellent location, superb facilities, well maintained plus a very nice breakfast. We had a Turkish steam room within our room which was a real bonus & used twice a day! We used the recommended car park with a shuttle to the hotel made the arrival process very straight foward.

L'accueil est très chaleureux, les chambres sont fabuleuses dans un cadre hors norme dans une église reconvertie, endroit très calme qui permet de passer des nuits reposantes. Le petit déjeuner servi en terrasse aux milieu des sassis est magique. Je recommande fortement cet établissement.

The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help, greeting us with genuine smiles throughout our stay. La habitación era adictiva, con 3 niveles y spa. Muy cómoda. Daban ganas de quedarse disfrutando en cada ambiente. Muebles cómodos. Una genialidadm El personal era excelente. Muy buen desayuno. Ademas me dieron un regalo sorpresa antes de irme.

Es war fabelhaft. Schon im Vorfeld wurden wir sehr gut über die Parkmöglichkeit und Anreise informiert. Der Empfang war herzlich. Das Zimmer war wunderschön und die Einrichtung ein Traum ( ich mag es, wenn Raritäten die Moderne treffen....bspw. ein alter Türteil als Kopfteil fürs Bett umfunktioniert wird). Alles war super sauber und man hatte alles was das Herz begehrte. Das türkische Bad im Zimmer war großartig. Das Frühstück war mein persönliches Highlight (klein aber fein,von süß bis pikant alles dabei).

We stayed in this unique accommodation in the Deluxe Suite for 2 nights, and our experience overall was very positive. The room was quite large and beautifully decorated, and the breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and they provided detailed instructions regarding parking and transportation to the hotel.

The room was humid one evening because one of the dehumidifiers stopped working, but it was quickly rectified the next day.

L'emplacement au coeur de la ville historique est exceptionnel (la rue est particulièrement calme). Le logement est directement dans des sassis. Le notre n'était pas le plus grand mais très confortable et pratique. L'accueil est parfait ainsi que le petit déjeuner (il est même possible de le prendre à l'extérieur).

Perfect location in the historical Sassi area of Matera. Rooms were large and clean and very comfortable offering the cave experience that you would expect. Location perfect and importantly very easy to access with bags of you have them. Wonderful breakfast and staff so welcoming and helpful. Great place to stay in Matera.

O quarto realmente é muito bonito, com decoração cuidadosa e criativa. Infelizmente, não dormi bem, pois a cama não era muito confortável. Ouvi os sons da rua e entrava muita claridade no quarto.

Reservei estacionamento com transfer para o hotel, mas funcionários enviaram o endereço do estacionamento errado. Acabei entrando no centro histórico, na zona de tráfico limitado, e já estou esperando a multa chegar.

Excellent location in the Sassi Barisano historic area. Close to a variety of bars. and restaurants or a many-stepped walk up into the top, more touristy area. Room was high ceilinged and large cave style with turkish bath. All modern finish. Fridge and aircon. Light from doorway (as classic cave) so only small windows. Small patio outside but no view. Wide choiced breakfast included outside small reception area with view. The Sassi is in a limited traffic zone. We chose the proposed out of town secure parking (book in advance) with transportation to and from the hotel. Takes about 15 minutes . Pick up from the hotel is on the hour.

For the price I was very disappointed that free bottled water was not included in the price. Hotel was unable to take large luggage before 3pm check in (only small bags) so we were unable to have more time wandering around the town before we got our room.

The property is very centrally located, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff leant us a charger and was generally very helpful storing luggage after we checked out.

The room was very small and a bit oddly shaped. We made it work but be mindful that quarters may be pretty tight.

石窟洞穴旅館令人驚艷！非常涼爽！屋子很挑高 、各個燈光、插座、吧檯、掛衣區⋯ 都可看出主人充份展現洞穴不平整牆面、屋頂的佈置特色！太值得了！

When you visit Matera,location is key and this is prime location. Maria A,met us on arrival,outstanding hostess. She had us checked in,dinner reservation and Tuc Tuc driver sorted within minutes of us entering the property. Our cave room with spa was beautiful and more than fulfilled our expectations.

Cannot fault the property or staff in any way. Perfecto.

This accommodation was AMAZING! We booked a wonderful room that was very large and had a spa bath. Staff are very helpful and venue was very clean.

Breakfast was nice however very basic.

Comfortable room. Beautiful bathroom. Excellent towels, sheets and pillows. AC worked well. Breakfast included was great. Fun place to stay.

Wir hatten eine Suite mit eigenem türkischen Dampfbad, was den Aufenthalt zu einem echten Luxus-Erlebnis gemacht hat. Die gesamte Unterkunft ist außergewöhnlich und mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet. Historischer Charme und moderner Komfort wurden hier perfekt miteinander verbunden. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und bot eine große Auswahl an süßen und herzhaften Speisen. So begann jeder Tag bestens gestärkt für die Erkundung der Sassi von Matera. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das freundliche und aufmerksame Personal. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und haben uns während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts sehr willkommen gefühlt. Insgesamt eine außergewöhnliche Unterkunft in traumhafter Lage, mit viel Charme, hervorragendem Service und einem besonderen Wohlfühlfaktor. Für einen Aufenthalt in Matera können wir dieses B&B uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Quarto adaptado como caverna, experiência única, com muito conforto. Cama excelente, chuveiro ótimo, quarto e banheiro bem grandes! Ótimo café da manhã e bem farto! Localização excelente! Recomendo bastante o hotel. Eles tem uma parceria com um estacionamento com shutle o que foi muito cômodo e tranquilo para nós que estávamos de carro!

Gostamos de tudo mas poderia ter mais amenidades no banheiro do quarto.
