Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working nearby, great hotel, wouldn't hesitate to stay again
Garden room very comfortable and clean. Fan available as no air conditioning. Food in restaurant very good. Nice outside bar area.
Nothing
The welcome at reception was excellent. Rooms are good and comfy. The place was quiet during our stay which suited us. The dinner was excellent and beautifully presented. This is an excellent, small hotel.
A minor negative point is that the baths are very tall, but that is simply about practicality. I had to hunt around and move the large desk to locate power sockets, these would be benefit from being relocated at the next refit.
Helt fantastiskt ställe och så prisvärt. Mysiga, fina rum, med sköna sängar. Stor rymlig parkering. Härlig, lugn omgivning. Vi var och åt på deras pizzeria en kort promenad bort. Mkt gott. Odlade egna grönsaker som används i restaurangerna. Trevlig och tillmötesgående perslnal. Hade gärna stannat längre.

Great location for visiting Chichester, The Witterings and Bosham. The hotel itself was really lovely, great breakfast and dinner in the restaurant on both nights. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well maintained. Pretty gardens and plenty of outside seating areas.
The room was vary spacious, clean with a shower and water and excellent drinks tray supplied. It was set in a very pleasant peaceful garden area. Breakfast was excellent, with a cast range of choice, cooked and brought to the table by a very friendly team. 12/15 mins from Chichester in a country setting, perfect if exploring the city, local area or like us heading for Pompey the next day.

Fantastic property. Staff very friendly and helpful
Fabulous food
It was cute with lots of little buildings making it feel like a resort. The beds were comfortable and the room exceptionally clean. The breakfast was good.
Our 2nd stay. Lovely comfortable room and en-suite. Everything we needed and a lovely environment. Restaurant and bar had good service and food. Staff went the extra mile to make the evening.
Not a didn't like, but would be nice if they were able to put up some sound reducing fencing for the front external patio area. You could hear the traffic from the main road which slightly spoils the amazing effort they have put into the comfortable and relaxed setting. We would definitely stay again.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
We didn’t feel the room rate was good value. It was very small as was the bathroom. At £500+ for two nights that was not vfm.
Nice and quiet. Rooms well decorated.
No air con. No fridge.
Great restaurant, good menu with plenty of choice for breakfast. The room was comfortable and facilities great. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The poached eggs were over cooked and overall the price of the room and breakfast was very expensive. There were limited choices on Saturday evening menus but the food was good. Gratuities were added to everything when the final bill was presented and not just at 10%! The hotel is situated on a very busy, noisy road which makes entry and exit difficult (it was quieter overnight thankfully). Overall it is very expensive for what you get.
Staff were friendly and especially breakfast staff, both girls were friendly and efficient. The proximity to the local areas is good
The property is tired, and in need of refurbishment: we have stayed in a few occasions over the years and nothing has changed! The sink in our room leaked, the pillows were unusable and we had to request new ones (which they did very efficiently) the tv was very basic etc
The Garden room was clean and well presented with a pleasant outlook via double doors onto fields. The breakfast was a bit mixed. Very good dining area. I had bacon and eggs which came with 1 rasher of bacon and 1 egg my wife had poached eggs which had hard yokes had to request toast so not great
There appeared to be people walking about above our room for most of the night kept my wife awake
Very well kept
Nothing it was excellent
Great sized room, lovely grounds to walk around, restaurant and bar friendly, great food and enjoyable. Hose available to clean dog after coming back from the beach/sea, which was perfect! Great walks nearby, lovely pubs. Great to be situated between Chichester and the Witterings, to access both locations.
Hotel is a little older and bathroom was a little dated. Nice rainfall shower head, weak water pressure. August traffic is very busy, spoke to hotel reception about going to beach without driving, they told me it would be unsafe walking by the road - which was great advice. Did not tell me about the bus or the Salterns Way, (pathway from Chichester to West Wittering) which goes along the coast. Both of these suggestions would have been very helpful had they been provided.
Warm greeting at reception and the barman was very helpful. Easy parking important to me.
Was shocked by the grubby old carpet on the stairs to the room, felt a real lack of attention to detail in not replacing that. The room was a good size but swelteringly hot having been shut up, the windows were opened for me and I found a good size fan. With the windows open you could hear all the drinkers below, little disconcerting but it did not go on late. Minor changes could make this place great although it is on a busy road.
Rooms and restaurant very nice
Breakfast could have been included in the price.
Loved the room the bed was very comfortable and the little area outside was great, slept well both nights. The breakfasts were individual cook for you and tasted great, really there was nothing to complain about just a great stay.
It was all good so nothing to complain about
For us the location was convenient for visiting Braclesham, Early, The Witterings, Birdham. It was clean and comfortable and our dog was allowed.
We booked a dog friendly room through Booking.com and when we arrived the manager was argumentative that we'd booked the wrong room, saying that we should have booked directly and not used Booking.com. But they use Booking.com. It's never what you say in life but how you say it and we were at the point of telling him to stick his hotel because of how he said it.
I ate dinner at the main Potager restaurant and the food was excellent and not over-priced. I had a very tasty sea bass with a delicious corn side dish.
The room was fine but the decor is a bit tired. The shower was powerful but the tiles look a little old. The bed was very comfortable. There is quite a bit of traffic noise from the road nearby although it did quieten down late at night so I could sleep well.
Not much if I’m being completely honest.
Avoid. Get a premier inn. Yellow stained toilet seat, yellow discoloured towels, very dated and very plastic bathrooms, dog hairs on the bed (I am aware this is a dog friendly hotel but I’d prefer bedding not containing hairs), plastic outside chairs (not the nice ones pictured), outside area dirty which was a shame as the weather was nice.
L’emplacement un peu à l’écart. Les espaces verts et jardin environnants. La deco intérieure très réussie. La qualité du service. Excellent petit déjeuner.
Chambre un peu exiguë. Dîner correct mais un peu décevant.
Well furnished bedroom with separate door opening onto garden courtyard with individual table and chairs. Lovely atmosphere- friendly staff and best continental breakfast I’ve ever had
Good location Lovely private room Good facilities
Nothing
Very pretty property and room with lots of car parking space.
The road is quite busy.
Very clean and out in the country
No air con as it was v hot when we stayed and beds a bit small
The bed was comfortable and the restaurant was good
Lacking in facilities not a 4 star. Room very small and dated
The setting was beautiful with a lovely patio at the rear of the building which my room opened out to. We were lucky with the weather so I spent most of my short stay there. The staff were all cheerful and very helpful, bringing your orders out to you. My two small dogs were welcomed by staff and visitors alike, making the stay extremely restful for me. The food served was excellent and the dogs were able to join us in the bar, (which was more like a lounge). Absolutely wonderful time was had and I'll certainly be returning.
I do feel it was a bit pricey, despite it being such a lovely place.
Nice location, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast and choice of 2 restaurants... pretty good for a smallish operation.
Would have liked the option of bar snacks in the evening.
Location and ambience
Bathroom was por, no shower and poor design. Very dated.
The property and location were lovely. Found receptipn staff very helpful and friendly. However the young bar man, didnt get his name, was exceptional. He stepped in and cleared our plates and sorted our dessert when dining room staff were not around.
Only the long wait for food service, no explanation given, restaurant was quiet so not sure what the problem was however the bar man saved the day for us and sorted everything out.
Breakfast good Great bar and outside areas Amazing location for Dell Quay, Itchenor, Chichester
No aircon
Stayed at Crouchers many times over the years and it’s always service with a smile. Staff are friendly and rooms clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast available as well
Nothing not to like
Pleasant room and good restaurant. Plenty of parking.

Location, staff, breakfasts, well equipped rooms.
Wish it was air conditioned.
The position to Colchester is excellent, the property was clean. The staff are excellent.
No air conditioning
Very nice and lovely surroundings perfect for our dog.
Not so comfortable bed.
Parking always available.
Poorly designed room. Bed too big for room accommodating 2 people and a Labrador. Bedside cabinet had been turned sideways on one side of the bed in order to fit into gap, meaning drawers were not accessible. TV was to the side of the room, presumably so that if passing through narrow gap at foot of the bed you wouldn’t bash your head. Patio door did not lock securely. Tea and coffee served at breakfast were only ever lukewarm. Despite being in the midst of the FIFA World Cup, games were rarely shown on bar TV, encouraging guests to spend evening in their room to see a game.
Great service, stunning food etc
2nd room with views to the rear
1st room very noisy located above the restaurant. Had to ask to have the music in the room below turned off. Thumping bass.
Location and grounds to walk the dog
Would have liked a bar menu not just the restaurant menu
Great location, clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Very doggy friendly.
Only minor comments as we had a lovely stay overall but I wish the curtains were black out and the pillows were a bit hard for my liking. Also there’s no A/C.
Lovely meal in the restaurant with gorgeous surroundings.
Amazing hotel slap bang in the middle of Chichester Town centre. Ten out of Ten breakfast.
The hotel is very nicely layed out, with lovely communal seating areas. Service was good. Very friendly.
.perhaps a bit more wine service training require. Bottle delivered to the table, but not poured.
Great location
The room was spacious and very clean with doors which opened onto the field behind the hotel with a table and 2 chairs outside the room. The breakfast choice was good and we had the full English which was excellent and all the staff were lovely.
A wonderful three night stay at Crouchers Orchard .( June 12-14th) Our first visit to this hotel and West Sussex. The hotel had an upmarket feel, nicely decorated and furnished with friendly professional staff and the service and accommodation were fabulous . We loved staying in Barn one , particularly as it had chairs outside looking over the garden on the sunny days we were lucky to have . A good choice at Breakfast and the hot food was freshly cooked . Our two meals in the hotel restaurant were delicious particularly Sunday lunch , as was the Pizza 🍕 at the Cider house kitchen . Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Thankyou.
The hotel was delightful, the room was lovely and clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpul and very accomodating. The restaurant was brilliant and the food delicious and accomodating of any dietary needs. It was the perfect stay and a perfect location for our travels. The surrounding area was beautiful and the hotel was perfectly situated. It seemed set up lovely for couples and for those without children which suited us perfectly. Would highly recommend it was an absolute gem of a find!
Nothing everything was perfect!
Its location and the grounds
There was a plumbing noise which was a little annoying
The room (No.1) was clean and comfortable and the Italian restaurant (5 min walk away) was really good. The setting of the property is very pleasant with field views. Easy to access from Chichester by car and free on site parking.
Overall the place feels dated and service throughout was fairly poor. It felt like everyone working there was tired of the place and hated their jobs. No effort to interact or welcome guests, very perfunctory. The team working in the restaurant and bar area were happier talking to one another. We stayed in Room 1 and the noise from the room above was absolutely awful. It wasn’t due to the guests being noisy themselves, just terrible construction and insulation of the building. You could hear every world they were saying and when they were just walking around it felt like the roof was going to cave in. If they ran a tap or flushed the toilet the noise was ridiculous. Would not recommend staying in a garden room. Would not rush to stay again sadly.
Great location with local bus links to Chichester. Nice walk from the hotel to Chichester Marina. Lovely restaurants - we ate at both the pizza restaurant and the main hotel restaurant. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfasts with good choices. Comfortable room with everything you could need.
Other hotel guests arriving back at 4am!
Great room and the food on offer for a last minute roast was delicious
Our 3rd visit, but oh dear ,how this hotel has dropped its standards.Lack of attention to detail from housekeeping, ie no cups in some rooms, fridge not working, toiletries already half empty, no dressing gown, hairs on bathroom floor suggesting slap dash cleaning. Very slow service.45 mins to get a sandwich , 20 mins to get a drink. Our cooked breakfast was appalling , burnt French toast, burnt scrambled egg on toast & a fried egg that resembled rubber.Even when it was returned to the kitchen another egg appeared in the same rock hard state .Breakfast buffet pretty uninspiring & not topped up. Our breakfast took 45 mins to come out , in which time there were no pastries left or berry compote. So bad was all of the above that we requested a meeting with the manager to give her chance to put some of this right as we didn’t want to write a damaging review. Sadly even though she was the Co- owner she only paid lip service to our issues & offered to refund just 1 breakfast each.We were not compensated for our blighted experience as she wouldn’t budge. We received a paltry £18 each which was an insult! Avoid Crouchers , its full of new staff who are incompetent & a manager who doesn’t care about the customer experience.
View and rooms
Food in restaurant was not good
Clean , very comfortable bed. Lovely towels. Reception staff very friendly.
It was very hot! No air conditioning . Bar staff unfriendly.
Location, garden restaurant
Room a little small and garden needed a bit of tlc
Very clean comfy bed and good facilities
Warm and hospitable.
The room was perfect, & the staff on check-in and the restaurant were excellent
The duvet needs to be much bigger than the bed.
Gorgeous helpful staff. Cosy beds. Quiet.
Didn't really understand why it was reviewed so well.
Eggs Benedict for breakfast came out of a tube. Nasty
Lovely location. Friendly staff.
A comfortable room but the carpet needed a shampoo along with the stair carpet leading to room 5.
The full English breakfast was very good
The fish in my fish and chips was overcooked and the batter was wet. The chicken in the chicken goujon was dry. Charging for a continental breakfast for a piece of toast and a coffee was excessive.
The staff, location and ambiance.
Nothing to dislike.
Grounds lovely Outside area well kept Shower good Nice hotel, well maintained
We booked via Booking.com , requesting a pet friendly hotel as we travel with two small dogs. I distinctly remember ticking a box which asked are you travelling with pets , tick here so we can prepare for you. On arrival, the receptionist told us we had booked the wrong room for pets and should have rung direct, not booked via booking.com. he then said there were no pet rooms available but reluctantly assigned us the Russet Roomas booked. He then " found" a "gap" - his words - for a dog friendly room.. this after making us stand there feeling uncomfortable. He said he'd upgraded other guests so we could have that room. . We felt he was discouraging about booking.com as it clearly is cheaper for the customer than ringing the hotel direct as he suggested, but, if the hotel uses this booking system , surely they should allocate the correct room for dogs and not have a problem with customers booking through it Otherwise why use it??!!! We have stayed previously at this hotel and everything was lovely. Also as an aside there were no coffee pods, only limited tea bags and no spoon in the room for drinks For one moment, my husband and I felt we were being refused a room after booking in good faith, which wasn't a welcoming start to our stay.
We enjoyed a garden room, we opened the French Doors to a private patio leading to a large grassed area perfect for our Labrador. Dogs aren’t allowed in the main restaurant but we were comfortable eating at a table set for us in the bar. To catch the afternoon sun we needed to sit on the bar patio which is noisy as it’s next to the road but screened. The restaurant menu is short but the food freshly cooked & delicious. A mini fridge in the room would be a good addition. Although there is a charge for taking a dog nothing is supplied so you need to take bed/bowls & most important…treats! Large bathroom with a good supply of fluffy towels. WiFi not good & 5G a little erratic.
Lovely hotel, excellent wine and food.
Massive jacuzzi Bath had a shower hose to rinse hair but no shower curtain. No way to have a shower without crouching in the bath.
Excellent freshly cooked breakfast with pleasant views from the dining room. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Electric points available on both sides of the bed.
Lights for reading in bed not so good for older eyes.

Room was exceptional, Dining facilities great and the menu choices were exceptional, breakfast choices were exceptional.
Nothing
It was ok
Traffic noise
extremely quaint and quiet
Great location, the staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was outstanding!
The carpets could probably do with a clean. Didn’t feel as clean as it could have.
All was very good, comfortable and warm.
I would have really preferred a closed-in, private outside area (however small) attached to the room, where my dogs could pop out safely, without me.
Location, but not given the garden room we expected
No hot water to shower, this was just brushed off by reception as a minor inconvenience.
Location, friendly staff, bar and breakfast and room was clean
The room walls were thin and we could hear the person on the phone from 6am on the first morning which woke us and annoyed us. The stair carpet going up to room 5 was very dirty looking and unappealing - off putting on initial arrival as concerned the room would be similar -‘it was okay through Food value for money was expensive £17 breakfast and bar charges
The room was lovely and the staff very welcoming. Great to have electric charging for the car.
Stay at Crouchers regularly, lovely hotel with a great restaurant, try the Pizza restaurant, the pizza is amazing
Set in a beautiful location, room sizes good, beds very comfortable.
The shower took a long time to heat up and was hot and miss with the hot water. Service at breakfast was disappointing. Very slow. Waiting on average 30 minutes from ordering. We ordered coffee and it went to a different table.
The room was nice with easy access to the outside. Close to the coast and Chichester and the restaurant food was very nice
Bring reminded that we had a dog. Not to go on the bed eat away from everyone else. Even though it was a dog friendly hotel.
The room was pleasant with a lovely view with easy access to garden for our dog The barman was great and food excellent
The room was really cold when the radiator was turned on the smell was overwhelming of dust. The bathroom was freezing even with the towel rail on. Walls very thin could hear every noise from next door shower, tv, couple having sex. Etc etc Found the cheap hand made information booklet strange an unprofessional
