Woolpack Inn

This is the 4th time I have stayed here and I am never disappointed. Everything is always perfect, I have never had cause to complain I would also like to say to anyone who is down in the area, go for the Sunday carvery 12 to 6 pm book in advance as they are always busy, all homemade, locally sourced produce and veggie options and a very reasonable price of £14.

Staff behind bar and in the morning at breakfast were great. Dinner was good. Guiness poured lovely. Shower in the room very powerful

The bathroom looked dated and in need of updating. Bed itself not amazing but good linen. A little pricey for the standard of room

One bed was a bit broken. No gluten free cereal.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. The pub did great food in the evening and there was a lovely vibe in the bar. Rooms were in an outbuilding and our twin room was fine. Huge Carpark. Five mins drive from central Chichester. We didn't try the buses or the walk into town.

Stayed here at the last minute Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice pub attached but didn’t cause any loss of sleep from noise. Good food and drink.

If being picky the rooms were a little dated but looks like they are investing in the hotel and pub. Would stay again.

Outside rooms. Couldn’t even access property until after 12 (after a 5am start) - not even for coffee or tea.

Staff were exceptional, room was spacious and well equipped, excellent stock of tea/coffee etc, beds very comfortable.

Breakfast was good and adequate. A nice evening meal - bit noisy but a nice atmosphere with the snooker players! Room comfortable, liked the fact there was a fridge, communal but I could leave a sparkling wine and cake and lemon in it!

Dodgy mirror and shelf in bathroom! Positioned a bit low for my husband to use for shaving.

Large floor standing fan in room and iced water dispenser in corridor. Temp over 30° so thank you. Great position, handy for bus and train to Chichester and Portsmouth.

A bit noisy on a couple of nights. A disco one and a pair of very drunk young women in the early hours another tho second not the fault of the staff.

Deze accomodatie was het dichtstbijzijnde hotel nadat we niet verder konden rijden door de aanrijding. Personeel heel vriendelijk maar sliepen in gehorig simpel bijgebouw.

We stayed because of the location near Goodwood. When we arrived there was a charity music festival. Despite being busy they ensured we had parking and were made to feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious.

Property very tired and could do with updating. Breakfast was disappointing after previous reports.

Het verblijf bevond zich in een gebouw naast het hoofdgebouw. De kamer is groot genoeg voor één nacht, de badkamer voldoende maar de matras is zeker aan vervanging toe. Het verblijf heeft een grote parking aan de voorkant en we konde onze motoren aan onze kamer parkeren.

De matras was volledig doorgelegen en moet dringend vervangen worden.

Consistency in breakfast service. First, let me say the quality of the food was excellent. It's the consistency of service I'm commenting on . First day . Excellent breakfast .first day Freshly cooked bacon , roasted whole mushrooms , a decent portion of beans . Second day. Dried bacon. , a smattering of beans. . Bit of a poor show to follow with . Rooms were fine. Bit lacking in basic toiletries

Great friendly feel. The staff were all very pleasant and efficient and helpful. Excellent value for the money I paid.

Staff are really friendly, rooms are clean, just what we needed after a day at the beach. I requested if I could have a interconnecting room but it was taken, but I was given rooms next to each other which really helped. Breakfast options included a veggie sausage which was great to find. The choice of cereals and juice, yogurts was a nice touch too. We had a good breakfast before heading back out to the Beach.

Although it did have a warning, very hot water in the hot water tap. Not great for when travelling with a special needs child, I just had to be super careful and go with him each time to the bathroom.

As a family of 16, including grandparents, uncles, grandchildren, etc our 2 day stay was superb. The staff were friendly, helpful and always on hand. The breakfast was of a perfect size, freshly cooked and well laid out. Our dinner was just fantastic. The quality of "pub food" is excellent. Good portion sizes too. The pool table and dart board were a bonus. The bedrooms, located across the car park (free parking) were basic but comfy and more spacious than expected. The beautiful country walks just round the corner to the estuary was an extra bonus.

The squeaky bed but as with the basic nature of the room. This however was not a dislike, but something to add for those looking for more than the rating of the accommodation.

We booked our stay at the Woolpack inn 6th August 2025 and paid £95.00 to booking.com, for our stay on the 7th May 2026. We had received a confirmation from the Woolpack Inn at the same time. When we arrived at the Woolpack on the 7th August 2026 we were required to pay another £95.00 pounds, when we question this to say we had already paid they said we hadn’t, so we paid by credit card, now we have found our original booking and payment we contacted them to refund the payment of £ 95.00, but we have not heard anything to clear this mess.

Perfect location for Goodwood . All the meals were excellent , and the staff were very friendly.

For " larger" people the bed was too small and soft .

Popular with the locals which is always a brilliant indicator of a good establishment. Rooms nicely separate from main pub.

Would have preferred a firmer mattress. Husband didn’t think the coffee was very good.

Hair dryer is shared among guest rooms. Hung on a common entrance by a water server. There are two and I easily found them, but if there were full-number of guests at the night, it might be tough to use?

The bed needs replacing and breakfast needs an overhaul. Empty cereal boxes were placed back not removed or replaced.

Not a lot to be honest

Room was very cold on arrival and when I tried to turn the heater on it fell off the wall. After two attempts of the staff attempts for the heater to work I give up and was cold all night. The bed mattress was horrendous it needed to be thrown away. Every movement was received with a boing from the springs in it. Also the pillows were very poor quality and was almost flat. The walls are terrible and thin and the noise on the night was shocking. We did not eat there on the evening as I wasn’t best pleased but we did have the breakfast and it was as ok. We ate at the bulls head a few yards away and that was great. £352 for four rooms for the night and went home shattered. Won’t be staying here again….

We were welcomed and shown to our room even though we were early for check in, which was lovely. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was excellent. The facilities were good eg hair dryer, water fountain, tv, kettle and assorted teas and coffee etc. The breakfast was great with plenty of choices for drinks and extras. Overall the location was great a walk into Chichester and close to Fishbourne Palace. The bar area was very welcoming and the lunch was delicious. Overall we would recommend.

For myself, the bed was uncomfortable. It was hard and felt like it needed a topper. For my husband he found it fine. Our room was next to the main entrance to the building so it was noisy at night when people arrived back and had forgotten the door code!

Size of room reasonable, nice & clean, not too noisy & hurrah a full length mirror in a well lit position, which is often not the case in hotels these days. I also liked water cooler in entrance very useful.

Room no charging sockets . bathroom hot tap dangerous. arrived quite late put my bag in room, went to bar just before 11pm. for a quick drink, as a resident , to be told sorry we've stopped serving. Shower in room stained around the base, but otherwise worked fine.

The room was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was good . Sky television in the bar was good as we wanted to watch the darts.We had an evening meal which was very nice

The double bed was a wooden one which I don't like, however we slept fairly well.
