Very convenient location. Easily accessible through 2 very close Tokyo Metro stations (5 min walk) and 2 JR/Metro stations within 10-15 min walk. Plenty of conbini nearby as well as a variety of restaurants, drug stores, and groceries. Less than 15 minutes walk to the heart of Akihabara Electric Town.
Perfect stay
The water dispenser of the bathroom sink is very low
Unique, fantastic and different. Really easy and in great location. Close to food shop, electric town and station.
Spacious and comfortable and excellent location. Need to be okay with limited "front desk" availability and interaction as it is mostly self serve. There are many lights in the room and the switches for some were not all obvious and required some detective work.
Was a very nice room
It was a bit tricky to check in and out without staff present
Very poor customer service but a cool and unique room.
The rooms and bathrooms are spacious.
There was never anyone at the reception so no way to contact a human. The photos online made the rooms look more elevated. The photo of the reception area looked livelier and nicer than in reality. Nothing in that area unless you like maid cafes. Was expensive for the quality and value. Rooms were more DIY and worn than in the photos.
Excellent part of Tokyo, Close to most things but not too busy.
Location is really awesome, great for connectivity with public transport and central Akihabara. Room was a great size and comfortably accommodated all of us space wise. Super clean rooms & well stocked kitchen with a full fridge/freezer.
Strange set up. The reception area was manned twice for a small time period during our 5 day stay. There reference to 24hours is check in/out via ipad only. There is no cafe, just an unsecured space on the ground floor with table and chairs permanently unlocked to anyone walking by. No table and chairs in room - but you have a kitchen??? We needed to sit in the empty ghost "Cafe" to eat or have a chair. We all smacked or heads multiple times on design features in the room, the buttom bunk doesnt have much clearance. Fun concept - style over substance, needs an accommodation designer to tweek the really interesting rooms, to make them more usable. We had aircon controls that didn't connect to our air con - we were quite warm in our room (not great in the middle of summer). Instructions for everything in Japanese only. The combined washer/dryer was helpful, but it didn't dry the clothes - needed 3 to 4 goes. There is no one onsite to help resolve anything, kinda more like an air b&b. We enjoyed our stay it was fun, again, location awesome. Would we go back? Maybe.
Really cool design. Nice to have a washer/dryer.
This hotel is a little gem tucked away in a quieter area of Akihabara. The room itself was spacious and cool, the design was unique and really added to the stay. Facilities and amenities (washing machine, bath etc), were both great. A really good small hotel for a cool comfortable stay.
It was a little confusing accessing the room but I sent an email and someone came to help within minutes.
This was by far the most expensive of the hotels we stayed at during our trip. The idea is cool and artistic but it lacked some of the features of the other hotels. A major sacrifice was with it being self-service no one was available to speak with and no extra amenities were available like extra pillows. I had a hard time sleeping and the beds are extra firm. Also my least favorite location that we stayed at.
The room are very clean, nicely sized and very unique. The nature of the front desk staff only being there sometimes is a bit unconventional but we made work. I would recommend the property for its unique charm!!!
Cool concept was most excited about this hotel being designed by artists, location was good
Looking closer at the room, lots of scuffs on the walls, booklet and tray falling apart, very old. We wanted a quiet night in as advertised they had Amazon and Netflix however none of these worked, and the landing page was all in french so we couldn't even log out of whoever had changed the settings as that was locked behind a code, very frustrating trying to figure out how to login. No staff around and no responses to msgs or emails until 2am the next day. Really hard to get hold of anyone, we also had questions about luggage transport, we had some delivered and I had no idea what time anyone would be around, only came across a staff member by chance later in the afternoon. Dryer also didn't work properly, kept saying there was an error and no matter I tried following the instructions, nothing fixed it and I ended up staying up late and getting up early to try and sort it out. No real instructions on how to use anything, from the air cleaner, TV, air conditioning and lights. Cool idea and aesthetics but fine details are bad, and hasn't been maintained well. Would not recommend.
This is a small, boutique hotel with limited staff. It’s tucked away a bit and might be difficult to find (I took a taxi and the driver had no problem finding it however). There is not a person on duty at all times and there is an automated system for check in. I did have an issue checking in that was only resolved when another guest happened to pass by. There isn’t a key or key card; you are issued a code for your door. My issue was a simple one: the keypad on the door doesn’t look like a keypad (it looks like a touch pad for a key card) and just FYI, the numbers won’t appear until you touch it. I did love my room though: it was very, the art was really cool, and it was by far the largest room I had on my trip. It has an enormous tub, a small kitchen, and a washer/dryer. The hotel has no restaurant (the lobby is about the size of a cafe), but the area is packed with restaurants and shopping. It’s also within walking distance to Ueno Park.
Really cool place to stay. Room was very nice!
This hotel was a fun & a different experience than we're typically use to. The rooms are definitely quirky & exactly what you see in the photos. The rooms are also a decent size for a family of 4 (we had 2 teenagers travelling with us). A couple things I think the room we stayed in could definitely use (we were in the Wonder Park room) is storage! There are too many "things" sitting around in the room that are not necessary & take up valuable space. The rooms are lacking cabinets, closets, drawers & organization... especially when we are trying to live out of suitcases. Beds were comfy... but the pillows were rock hard. Overall, great stay though.
We had a fantastic stay, thank you!!
The location was perfect and close to the Ginza line, pharmacy and a 711. Japan trifecta. The room was huge and included everything we could need on our stay. Washer. Huge bathroom. Blow dryer. Lived it.
Couldn’t figure out how to use the heat in the room.
For the most part, we enjoyed our stay at BnA Studios in Akihabara. The hotel room was very cool and unique with the artwork being created by local artists. The service was not the best - we tried calling the first evening we were there and no one answered the phone. Whenever we were in the lobby, the staff was present less than half the time. The room was very cold the first night (to be fair, we went in the Winter and this room would have likely been great in the Summer months due to the concrete structure) and the heater didn't seem to work. The second day, we turned the heater off while we were gone and then back on when we returned and thankfully it worked. Overall, the hotel was unique but did leave some to be desired.
Awesome stay! Pros: A considerably larger room compare to other options in the area. It has a washer/dryer combo in the room which is nice for longer stays, and the kitchenette is nice too if you plan on making some of your own meals. There’s no microwave though, so plan accordingly if you are planning on purchasing instant foods. The design is fun and unique, very artsy. The bathroom is awesome with the shower and a tub, it even gives you a little stool to sit on for the showers! Transit is convenient, and is walking distance to Akiba! Lots of food options nearby as well, and there’s a 7-11 and a pharmacy/cosmetic store within a block away. Vending machines right outside the entrance. Super clean area, and quiet. The cons: Check in was an easy but we were a bit confused for where the entrance was. You first check in on the tablet if no staff is there, then you enter through the cafe/bar. We went to the stairs right next to it but apparently that’s for the apartment units right next door The blinds aren’t blackout blinds. My partner had no problem sleeping until noon but I’m up everyday when the sun is up. There’s no coffee in the room either, there is a water kettle though which was convenient. Overall: I will be back!!! For the price it’s more than what I expected! And we really liked the location and the feel of the hotel! Strongly recommend it!
The room was big, it had a washing machine which was great and also a big fridge.
The hotel isn’t really a hotel, there is not really customer service. There is no bar, no atmosphere, no where to hang in the evening. The staff were very disinterested and made us sign in on the iPad and didnt really speak or give us any info about the hotel, room, area. We only got bottles of water in the room once, when we enquired they said it’s a once off thing. Given the price of the hotel this was disappointing. No yakatas in the room either. We had a very noisy family check in around 11pm the night before we had to get up at 4am to leave. They were talking very loudly in front of our door - didn’t know how to get into the room (ie no customer service) then their kids were yelling and running up and down the steps in their room, the noises vibrated through the room. It is also very bright in the room at night as the blinds don’t cover the window space fully.
A very unique room in a good location, only minutes from Akihabara. We stayed in the Athletic Park room as a family of 4 for 4 nights. It would have been nice for 2 nights but it became a little cramped after a while. It’s a shame the top bed didn’t have more height, so the occupants on the bottom bed could sit up without worrying about bumping their head. We were here in December and it wasn’t cheap but that’s ok for a unique experience. There’s no dining option but plenty a few minutes walk away. Handy parking across the street.
A decent size and quirky room for the four of us, as it was winter, good to have the washing machine and dryer as well. It's much more of an airbnb. Pillows are not great. It's in a great location, close to some of the bigger stations so makes it easy to get around and pick things up as need. We were there over the public holidays in beg of Jan, so not much was open for breakfast and coffee, the hotel does not have a coffee shop or anything. Front desk is often not manned, one of the staff wasn't very helpful when we were wanting suggestions close by. There were different people each time though, and some were friendlier and spoke great English. They charge you $20 to hold your luggage in an open area, wired to the wall once you check out.
AKiHABARA is not what it used to be,It smells and everything look very out of date and lots of very cute young girls trying to attract older men. The hotel rooms are very nice and staffs are pleasant
I was in the black Japanese themed room and it was a pretty cool style, also big for a room in Tokyo! With some info about the artists in the booklet. Clean, comfy, quiet, the kitchen and washing machine were useful. Would stay again =)
Great location close to the subway. Room was amazing - lots of room for a family of 4, impeccably clean, and very quirky/interesting. We loved it!
This place is so cool! Perfect place for fun and friends!
Loved our stay at BnA Studio. Just a small hotel, in a quiet residential area but only a couple of minutes from the action of Akihabara and not far from Ueno. Our room was great, really stylish, very spacious with everything you might need. Was very helpful to have a washer/dryer and the kitchen was well equipped. The only thing missing for us was an iron. Staff were friendly and we would definitely stay there again.
I was attracted to the prospect of staying in a convenient and popular location (Akihabara) and as soon as I came across this unique property (Art hotel), I knew I had found our Tokyo "home away from home". The room was spacious, with unique artistic features (as a small zen garden on the balcony, tatami floor seating for the dining table) and had a spacious bathroom, laundry facility and kitchen for home cooking. There were only about 5 rooms in the entire property which was between 7-10 minute walk from the main stretch of Akihabara. Transport options to other sights in Tokyo were easy to access. Staff were on hand for support as required, but otherwise it was a very casual facility. The back streets were quaint and charming with unique Japanese homes, shops, temples and shrines that transported you away very quickly from the busy and wide main roads that were a mere stone's throw away. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk south of Ueno Park's Shinobazu pond and 10 minutes southwest from the charming Ueno Ameyoko Shopping Street. I would go back in a heartbeat and see if I could stay in one of the other rooms for an equally interesting artistic experience.
There was nothing I did not like about this property.
WiFi doesn’t work in my room. Check in process is the worst experience I have ever had. No desk in the room and chairs are wobbly. There are way better and cheaper options in the Akihabara area.
This place is beautiful! Also check-in and check-out was incredibly easy. The kind gentleman at the front desk also went out of his way to retrieve and save my passport when I left it in my room when I checked out. You won’t regret booking this place!
The room was certainly not the average motel room. It was called the "athletic" room with good reason. It was incredibly challenging for an older couple and was more suited to young people with gymnastic backgrounds. You had to wriggle your way on and off the main bed like a caterpillar using pipes and the edge of stairs to help drag yourself to the head of the bed. The person on the other side had to curl up into a ball in order to put their feet through a metre gap to squeeze out of the bed or to get back in. During all of these manoeuvres, you had to take care not to hit your head on the base of the bed situated above you at a right angles. The room itself had metal pipes standing everywhere plus lamps and other paraphernalia in peculiar places and electrical cords running all over the place so it was like an obstacle course. On one wall was glassed in shelving called the Junk Kiosk and the shelves certainly held a heap of unrelated objects probably rescued from a forlorn end. On the plus side, the separate bathroom was great with modern facilities. The room was spotless which was a credit to the cleaner. How she managed to make up those beds every day was little short of a miracle. I felt for her as i would have found the task impossible given the number of fixed impediments around the bed. I kept imagining how it would be to have to rely on that job to earn a living and thought I'd be standing at the edge of the highest balcony willing myself to jump.
Spacious, clean, easy to find, great location the design and style of the room was amazing. Fully equipped with everything you need
Fun and comfortable room. I was able to check in very early as the room was already available which was great after a long flight.
The room was very big for Tokyo hotels and it looks as cool as the pictures, nice lay down bathtub with a pillow. The kitchenette was nice, hot plate was very strong and helped take convenience store snacks to another level.
Amenities are average, we had trouble with the keypad access on our room and ended up getting a physical key after a bit of messing around. We stayed at both bna wall and bna studio, both ended up booked as 1 guest somehow which led to further costs on arrival. Luggage storage at the studios is free before check-in but 2000yen if you need it after checkout
One of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed
The accommodations were fantastic - the atmosphere was delightful and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed.
Nothing
We stayed in the Zen room on the 4th floor. It's a one-floor one-tooth concept and the elevator takes you directly to your doorstep. The room was VERY clean, and spacious, and our room had a large kind beds, a balcony, and a washer and dryer. Staffs were available round the clock to support and check-in and check-out were super easy. I highly recommend it and definitely will stay there again. The train station was about a 5 to 7-minute walk away. So if you have large and heavy luggage, plan your trip accordingly.
Awesome and unique place
Great overall, amazing shower pressure, bed comfy and quiet AC . I wish the front desk was nicer, I hate the automated check in proceses. Nice amenities, washer dryer, kitchen and good decor.
I recently had a reservation that unfortunately ended in a disappointing experience. Due to a family emergency involving my child, I had to cut short my stay at the hotel 1/4 days were spent. Despite reaching out to the hotel multiple times via email as well as speaking to Anu in person and another employee to request a credit or refund for the nights I was unable to stay, I received no response or acknowledgment of my situation. Despite Anu requesting to see our new flights back (which we provided) as well as showing photos of my son in the hospital. We were told that they would deal with this matter. We have had zero response since May 29th after being it would be dealt with. They had even given a WhatsApp contact with zero response.. as well as emailed multiple times. The lack of empathy and responsiveness from the hotel staff in handling my request was disheartening as well as very unprofessional. As a guest facing unforeseen circumstances, I expected better understanding and assistance from the hotel. Unfortunately, the disregard for my situation has left me feeling undervalued and disappointed in the level of customer service. I hope that the management will take this feedback seriously and reevaluate their customer service practices to better support guests in times of need or at least respond. I urge potential guests to consider the lack of responsiveness and empathy demonstrated when making their decisions to stay. Jacob
The overall design was quirky and amazing. Loved that the artists get a proportion of the room fee. My partner loved the smoking room.
The lobby was often not staffed, but apart from that no complaints, we loved it !
Property was different to others we had stayed in. Very clean property and staff were friendly.
For the cost it really wasn’t worth it, same price as a hotel with breakfast but unfortunately no breakfast included or water.
The room was interesting, and everything was clean and in good condition. It would have been nice if the room had somewhere to sit other than on the beds. The bathroom was really large. Overall a no-frills property with interesting decor that was very conveniently located to several subway lines, shops, and restaurants.
Bed was comfortable.
Over priced.
The rooms were spacious, fun & clean. Modern and even with washing machine! Perfect stay! We had our 3 kids in another room and they had such a fun room too!
Room is cute and cleaning staff did a great job.
The room is much smaller than I expected from the pictures. The bottom bunk is a health hazard in that it is very hard to get into and out of, and is impossible to sit up in. The top bunk is very hard to access because what appear to be normal steps up are really very narrow and short, forcing you to walk sideways. It was hard to find available plugs as so many things are plugged into the available outlets. There is no staff present at all - not just missing from front desk (they do warn that it is self-check in) but not even callable. The location is far from the heart of Akihabara, so is quiet but inconvenient. Maybe part of the problem was high expectations, but it was disappointing.
We booked this hotel because of the artist connection and the location. Neither were as impressive as we had hoped. When we checked in, there was some type of news or other broadcast being filmed in the cafe/check-in/bar/luggage storage area (we could never really figure out what the downstairs was supposed to be) and it felt like we were in the way the whole time we struggled through what seemed like an unnecessarily long check in process. When we finally got checked in, we found that we got the least decorated of the rooms and it looked pretty dingy compared to the pictures. The next day we needed to store our luggage and there was a fairly hefty charge for this and luggage was stored right in an open-to-the-public area, but the bags were locked together. The access to the room is up a narrow stairway and the door code lock to get into the room took several tries and help from the clerk to get to work. The location is good but a bit further of a walk from the main attractions of the area than we anticipated. The room was big, the beds were comfortable, the art was OK in our room, but if you got one of the other rooms, it may be better. Would probably stay somewhere else next time.
got unlucky with the least interesting of the rooms
nice practical room layout for a family of 4, great bathroom and had a laundry set in room which was so helpful while traveling with kids, fun rooms to choose from, staff very helpful with our requests
Great decor in room, kids loved it.
The decor looks great but some things now well placed for function.
Fantastic location
Limited seating in room and more of a serviced apartment than a hotel.
Cool rooms, fun ideas, point of difference
Check in process and reception is very informal despite the price tag per night. Luggage storage after checkout should be secure and included in the cost per night.
Very minimalist, You sign in and check out by yourself, your room is cleaned every day
Great place. We’ve never stayed in a room like it. The coolest hotel we’ve ever seen. The people were nice. The only drawback was that our room did not have a single chair. It offers Netflix, though. A nice bonus!
Liked the design, story and artsy feeling of the room, very nicely curated.
Our three-night stay at the BnA Studio Akihabara, specifically in the Zen room on the 4th floor, was a remarkable experience that significantly enhanced our autumn trip to Japan. The check-in process was impressively smooth and user-friendly, a pleasant surprise that set a positive tone for our stay. However, it's worth noting for future guests that if you're traveling with heavy luggage, there are a few small stairs to navigate before accessing the elevator, which can be a bit of a challenge. The Zen room itself was a delightful blend of modern amenities and traditional Japanese aesthetics, providing a tranquil and comfortable environment. It was spacious enough for our family and well-equipped for our needs. One of the biggest advantages of staying at BnA Studio Akihabara was its proximity to the bustling Akihabara district. This was particularly enjoyable for our daughter, who found Akihabara to be the highlight of our trip. The area is lively and full of exciting sights, sounds, and shopping opportunities, particularly for those interested in electronics and pop culture. Overall, our experience at BnA Studio Akihabara was very positive. The minor inconvenience of carrying luggage up some stairs was far outweighed by the comfortable accommodations, excellent location, and the unique experience of staying in a room that so beautifully captured the essence of Zen in Japan. We would recommend it to other travelers, especially those looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant energy of Akihabara.
Nice, large bathroom Launder with washer and dryer
Expensive, especially for a location several blocks from stations
The design of the hotel is great. Our room was massive and the design was so cool. It's a very small hotel which we didn't realise at the time of booking but we didn't have any issues. The location is an easy walk into the heart of Akihabara with a great taiyaki place at the corner too.
The room could use a chair but otherwise it was great.
The staff was very kind
Out TV didn't work, some wires were missing on the electrical appliances. The "art" felt a bit cheap... For the price, you can pay a real premium hotel
Great location and a respite from exhausting crush of the city streets. However, only a few blocks away, you have electric town and the Ginza line. Our kids enjoyed it thoroughly.
Cool little boutique hotel. We stayed in athletic park room which was really fun. Note there are limited outlets in the room which was odd but they tried to offset the issue by providing a power strip. Room comes with kitchen and washer and dryer machine which was huge as we traveled in September where it was still incredibly hot. So the ability to do laundry was huge. Rooms can be reached by stairs or a small little elevator. We used the elevator to take our luggage to our rooms but otherwise took the stairs most of the time as it was faster. Location isn’t the closest to public transportation. There is a Ginza subway stop not far from hotel but when you’re walking the city with luggage, it can feel like a mile away! Lots of local food options nearby including 7-11/ grocery. Around the corner is a dessert stand selling tayaki which made for great night treats. Akihabara main shopping/electronics area is walkable but several blocks away. Staff was very helpful. If you arrive before check in, they have locks to lock up your luggage so you can walk around.
Phenomenal place to stay. The rooms are original, incredibly spacious, clean and whilst edgy they are comfortable. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The staff truly make this place magical.

A very cute and fun hotel near transportation and walkable to things like fancy coffee and vegan ramen for people who care about that stuff (me). The staff was very very nice and the room was very cool. I also appreciated being able to do laundry in the room and that soap etc seemed to all be fragrance free.
The art piece itself
the TV was not working
Such a cool and unique hotel. Would definitely come back and try the other rooms.
Mattress was a bit too hard for what I like.
Ummm… it had a bed?
It appeared unfinished, no staff, bright lights shining in windows
We loved our stay at this hotel. The room concept was great for the kids, the rooms had everything we needed. Its about a 15 min walk from akhiabara station and 2 minute walk from Ginza subway line, so location is great as well
Artistically done and spacious for a family of four. Toiletries and detergents are eco-friendly brands. Nearest train station is just a block away. Favorite part is the washing machine. Very convenient and relaxing stay in a such a busy city.
The zen garden is unique, however the novelty wears off within seconds of stepping in. Very minimalistic, with very few amenities, especially in the kitchen. Poorly planned space. No shelves or hanging rack in the closet. And a whole enclave section with decor on the ground that could have been used for a much needed dresser instead. Washer/dryer is very poor at drying clothes. Had to run the wash cycle twice because clothes did not even smell clean. Then ran the dryer twice. At the lobby is a young man who spent all his time sitting at a small desk video conferencing with friends while studying for school. I always felt horrible interrupting him with any questions I had or asking him for anything I needed. Not sure if he is a hired employee or just the owner’s son. On the bright side, the room was very clean and somewhat spacious for a family of 4
Interior art fantastic and the bathrooms were great. loved the location.
There was urine in the bed when we arrived. The sheets had not been changed from the previous guest (only the bed made). Towels were very dirty. The person at reception was aloof in communications. He was apologetic for the urine and towels and remade the beds personally. It was very off putting for us.
Staff was very courteous and helpful
I have to say this is one of our favorite hotels in Tokyo. Really interesting and beautiful. Rooms with amazing designs, and conveniently located in a not-busy area of Akihabara. We travelled with our 6 year old son and he loved the room we got (athletic room). We also walked easily to the nearest station for both JR and metro, both about 10 min walk. We appreciated the washing-dryer machine in the room, but it would be great to have a little instruction manual in English, because it took us ages to translate it. We had good nights sleep during our three day stay, and will definitely go back to stay in this hotel. Great job to the amazing artist, designers, and the kind staff. Check-in was a breeze, done on a tablet. Very fast. We left our luggage in the morning of our first day, and everything was perfect.
We had the coolest room! Be far the nicest bed we slept on over our whole trip. It's a self contained studio with a kitchen and washer/dryer. When we went the downstairs area wasn't being used for anything, so nobody congregated in the common area which gave more of an AirBnb vibe. Super close to Akihabara and the BEST taiyaki around the corner.
The only thing was trying to figure out the washing machine. Took me a few loads to figure it out. So could have clearer instructions for that.
