The room was a bit cold .

Very comfortable bed, nice view over the gardens. Room had had a bit of a refurb, nice colours with large tv. Restaurant attached was vety nice and reasonably priced.

Bathroom need a refurbishment to match the bedroom, quite dated with cracked floor tiles. All the upstairs rooms/corridor have very squeaky floors.

Staff were extremely good, helpful and responsive. Other than breakfast we didn’t eat at the hotel but apparently the food is good. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, particularly for side sleepers. Appreciated the free parking.

The upstairs rooms are not soundproofed, but if you’re a good sleeper shouldn’t be a problem.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a good bathroom. The bed was comfy & there was everything you would expect to find. The breakfast was very well served and delicious, as was my evening meal.

Die Lage war gut. Das Hotel insgesamt hat uns gefallen. Das Zimmer war schön. Das Bad war modern und sehr sauber.

Zum Frühstück gab es kein Buffet. Es gab eine Karte. Es fehlte leider die Information, dass die Bestellungen limitiert waren. Nach 3 Bestellungen, egal was, war Schluss und man sollte zuzahlen. Also war nach einem Croissants, einem kleinen Jogurt und ein paar kleinen Fruchtstücken Schluss. Fanden wir sehr schade. Ist uns auf unserer Rundreise auch nur hier so passiert, dass wir noch hungrig vom Frühstück weggegangen sind.

25min drive to Alton Towers. King size bed. Spacious room. Clean. Friendly staff. Lovely food in the restaurant/pub - great options.

Although overall it was clean some areas need a little more attention (extractor fan in the bathroom, behind the furniture etc). The decor is a little outdated but it's fine

We had breakfast - a good range of choices - and room service lite bites. Both were excellent.

There is a one size fits all pricing for the breakfasts. They accommodated our needs and adjusted this when we asked, charging for one person in a couple when the other could only manage cereal and coffee. Perhaps having some priced smaller offer options would make things easier for customers and also staff.

Our room was good and modern on the second floor. The staff were friendly and the price was about right. Evening food was good with a good range of drinks.

Slow breakfast service and some areas of the hotel seem a little dated.

The room was just really hot and the small fan just didn’t cut it however we have been having mad hot weather - I can’t cool my own home down 🤷🏼‍♂️

Room size was good with a good layout & provisions. Everything was very clean & tidy. It was perfect for our stay.

Nice location country pub hotel with nice dinner and decent breakfast, and great location for Alton towers only 15 20 mins in car.

No even a bottle of water left in the room, came home after hours as we'd been to a wedding and just wanted a drink, nothing open in area either.

The lamp next to the bed dod not work, and the batteries for the TV were out so could not watch. To be fair, I did not mention to reception so they did not gwt a chance to rectify it.

We were attending a wedding locally so the location was fantastic. Breakfast was very nice. The room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly. Plenty of parking.

It was very hot and stuffy in the room and being on the ground floor we didn’t feel safe having the windows open overnight. We appreciated the fan but it was only small. When we arrived there was a really bad drains smell.

A fabulous hotel with great on-site parking. The staff were all very friendly and made you feel as though they had known you for years. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfy and no noise from outside or other rooms. The only thing I would change is the hair dryer but that is me being very picky. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend the cocktails too. All in all we had an amazing stay and would love to come back to this place if we are ever in the area again.

Room was dated. Dirty marks on curtains and grubby services folder create not a great impression. Breakfast was a bit disappointing experience. Told could only have fruit OR cereal. Chose fruit and some thin slivers arrived which was unacceptable really. Cooked breakfast was good though.

The options to have dinner in my room and breakfast on the patio made it easy to keep my nervous dog relaxed. The surrounding grounds were perfect for walking my dog.

No air conditioning in baking hot weather. The location of my room opposite the patio meant the noise of people late at night kept disturbing my dog. Maybe people with dogs could be put on the other side of the building.

Breakfast was great, freshly cooked and plenty of choice. I ate twice in the bar area in the evenings and both times the service was very good as was the food. Reasonable prices for both food and drink.

All good for the short stay i had

Got a decent nights sleep. Room was clean. Shower worked well. All the common areas were well kept. All the staff were great, they made me feel welcome and did a good job.

The WiFi was appalling. The captive wifi setup was super slow to respond, then when I did finally get connected, the overall throughput was terrible. It was so bad as to be unusable. I won't be coming back to stay unless this gets properly fixed. I suggest you make a point of publicising the fix and

Not much to be fair

Room was very comfortable. Friendly staff and very attentive . Food was delicious in the restaurant both for our evening meal and breakfast.

Room 1 good and facilities no issues. Breakfast big enough and limitless coffee. Roast dinner of Beef and Turkey in Bar filling and large version exceeded appetite.

WiFi can be patchy (especially Room 3). Room 1 WiFi was great.

If I’m picky it would be there was no air conditioning in our annex room no 62. A fan in room would have been nice and the bed was very creaky but was ok.

Excellent location, to the Hanbury Barns where we attended a wedding. They met our needs as we arrived at 11.15 am as the wedding was at 12.30 we knew our room may not have been ready on arrival but when we did arrive it was available to use straight away.

Friendless of the staff, the restaurant and bar was very good. As was the breakfast and the helpfulness and friendly breakfast staff.

A lovely hotel, ideally situated for our needs.. pre wedding evening. The booking in process was easy and there was no issue with us having late check out. The room (26) was clean and fresh and bed was really comfortable. The grounds were clean and pretty. There was a large group of us and staff were very attentive and helpful. Evening meal was delicious and arrived hot. Breakfast was freshly cooked and staff again very attentive. Will definitely be staying here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, for our cousins wedding near by.The hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside and lovely walks.The room was lovely and had all we needed.The bar staff were lovely. The food was ok, the menu was good, but the selection of sandwiches were different. I just wanted a cheese or ham. I would definitely stay again.

There was a bad smell coming from outside. They also need more staff in the morning, as the poor waitress was run off her feet. We had ants in the room, but i understand we cant do much about it.

Hotel was really convenient for Alton towers and staff were really nice and accommodating. We asked for food not on the menu and nothing was a problem ( food was superb).

Certain issues in room not working: remote control for TV and hotel telephone. Would perhaps have liked to have a room in the main hotel building as were disturbed by noise from road and early morning delivery to storage room next to our room.

An excellent menu for breakfast and dinner, and high standard of cooking. Large bedroom with good facilities. Car parking convenient for access to bedrooms on the ground floor. Extensive grounds suitable for dog owners.

I have passed The Boars Head many times and thought how inviting it looked and this was my first stay. What stood out to me was the team here - from my first phone call, to my arrival, breakfast and check out - everyone was so welcoming. I had room service dinner - Pan fried salmon with crayfish hollandaise with new potatoes and tenderstem broccoli - served promptly and utterly delicious. Super comfy bed led to a great night’s sleep 😴. Breakfast service was quick and attentive. Fresh fruit salad and quality bacon and poached eggs cooked well. Great stop over - I would recommend staying here and will definitely be staying here again 🤗

A very pleasant, short notice stay on a tiring journey after I just couldn't be bothered to drive. Spacious room, very clean and a comfortable bed for a sound night's sleep as well as spacious convenient car parking. Excellent value for money too
