NOT GOOD FOR PILGRIMS. No place to drop your bag, got snapped at and a member of staff was very rude when I went it to try to ask. It’s not unreasonable to want to leave a bag at an accommodation and I’ve never had a member of hospitality staff be so rude to me, and so aggressive, and I have stayed in many many places all round the world. (This is one person, the other staff member I met later was fantastic). Also they say you are not able to do laundry unless you have a big group and a huge load to do, but you also aren’t allowed to do laundry in the sinks. When you have been walking for hours in the heat you want to wash your clothes before the next day. Also not close to the path, adds and extra bit of time in the morning to rejoin. If you’re just a normal tourist it’s a lovely modern and nice place to stay (but don’t try to drop your bags early!) but I would avoid if you are a pilgrim

Letti molto comodi Aria condizionata in stanza (anche se non c'era il telecomando per gestirla) e armadietti utilizzabili tramite la card di accesso alla struttura. L'addetta alla reception estremamente gentile e cordiale, nonostante io parli inglese ha provato (con ottimi risultati) a descrivermi la struttura ed i servizi in Italiano.
Chi ha progettato i rubinetti nei bagni (e anche chi li ha scelti) dovrebbe essere rinchiuso nelle patrie galere. Una grande terrazza su cui poter stendere il bucato, peccato non ci sia uno stendino o dei fili

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026We reserved a private room with 4 bunks. The reception lady gave us an 8-bunk room so we could all have a bottom bunk. Awesome! Big balcony overlooking the street. Shared bathroom right outside our room. 5-minute walk to the burger restaurant where we ate dinner (across the roundabout from the cathedral).
We felt the cost of laundry was too high & you aren't allowed to wash clothes in the bathroom, so we decided to hike in our dirty clothes the next day. It was fine--we had out clothes cleaned at our next hostel.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026Santarem was very beautiful, and the N1 Hostel was enjoyable. The staff contact MARIA was a pleasure to speak with. The industrial feel to the place was interesting to me. The keycards worked well. Lunch (mid-afternoon, before check in!) at the pub right down the street was delicious.
Our A/C unit in room# 104 was insufficient, so the room got very humid and uncomfortable because of this. The unit simply cycled too high of temp set point and would shut off until the temp rose above the threshold. The rooms need constant fresh air supply and in-room ability to set and maintain the room temperature. The building is heavy concrete, so rooms are simply too dark and are quite humid (August 18… 39c). The window opens just a few inches, but there is no cross venting options either.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026The lady who showed us around was great. Also great that they don’t try to shove everyone in the fewest possible rooms but spread people around in the house which means less people in every room. Air conditioner is also a very nice touch.
Glass wall and door for toilet and shower is not a good idea! Also: Room €24, washing machine €15 is quite disproportionate.

Ho preso letto dormitorio ci sono due stanze con 4 posti ,totale 8 persone ,impossibile che ci sia solo un bagno con doccia incorporata per tutti e 8,infatti per attendere di andare in bagno perché c'era la doccia occupata sono dovuto ial centro commerciale ,mi sembra un po' ridicolo La struttura apre troppo tardi 15/15e30 io che vengo dal cammino di Santiago e sono arrivato alle 12 ho dovuto attendere le 15 tutto bagnato ,quindi per chi fa il cammino di Santiago non lo consiglio ,l'unica cosa positiva chi va a Fatima il cammino passa a pochi metri

Für 16 Personen steht nur eine Dusche und WC zur Verfügung. Glücklicherweise waren beide Zimmer nur wenig belegt.

Que me picó chinche de cama y que algunos peregrinos no son limpios usando el baño compartido, la jabonera del lavabo en 2 días nunca tuvo jabón.

Everything is locked and closed until 3pm. Nobody around to store bags if arriving early to explore the town. Nowhere to wash clothes by hand and big signs saying do not use sink.

Group came in rather late and were quite loud. Room mate and myself had to quiet them down. All was fine after that.

As janelas podiam ter filtro para só se ver de dentro para fora. O quarto podia ter mais luz. As tomadas ficam ao livel da cama sendo muito difícil o acesso.

Reviewed May 17, 2026Tudo muito limpo e organizado. Toalhas e lençóis muito limpos. A moça da recepção e muito gentil. A Dona Maria uma senhora gente boa e educada, nos mostrou os locais deu dicas muito bom . Continuem assim bons no que fazem.

Niets,zeiden ze de dankbaarheid is enorm voor ons. Hoe mooi is dat Van de twee Nieuw-Zeelanders de Canadees vrouw de Franse man en ikkie de Belg Dion Abrigado

Cet Hostel a tous les attributs d'une prison : murs gris, portes asservies par badge avec zones contraintes, portes qui ne ferment pas à clé (les toilettes). Le pèlerin qui arrive a des besoins simples : se laver (ici, une salle de douche avec toilettes à l'intérieur pour 12 lits), laver ses vêtements (interdit de laver à la main, le sèche linge est en panne, on vous envoie sans problème dans une laverie 1 km plus loin alors que vous avez déjà marché toute la journée), dormir et manger soir et matin. On a le droit de manger sur une terrasse qui est interdite d'accès le matin. Nous étions plusieurs à prendre le petit déjeuner debout, dehors alors qu'il faisait encore nuit. Bien sûr, rien pour faire un café, même pas un distributeur. J'ai le sentiment que la propriétaire n'apprécie pas les pèlerins et qu'elle préfère les clients avec de belles valises pleines de vêtements propres, qui circulent à des heures normales. Tout celà pour 24€ quand même...

I booked at 10 pm, they said there was a room available and I arrived 20-30 minutes late and they said the hotel was closed! Horrible service!
