I would not have booked the Hotel if I had realised that the car park was above the Hotel and only accessible by a long flight of steps. We were an elderly group and two of us had medical problems.

The instructions for finding the car park that are available online could be better. Once we'd checked in and the receptionist told us, then it was obvious.

really struggled with the steps down from the car park (ended up walking all the way round which made it a bit of a treck) and also with the stairs to our room on the top floor. the lack of lift would put me off staying again unfortunately, as i have a disability with my knees and could have managed one flight of stairs ok but not 4!

Friendly and helpful staff, large room, interesting "high-tech" shower, quiet and clean. My wife was pleased to find most of the staff could speak her first language - Welsh. Large car park. We were married 55 years ago and after dinner on our last night we were given a beautifully presented very large chocolate brownie and excellent chocolate ice cream (plenty for two) with happy anniversary written in large chocolate letters. Lovely and much appreciated gesture.

The room was immaculate with a superb comfy big bed and exceptionally modern ensuite with a separate bath and shower. Breakfast was superb - service lovely and a good choice.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous & friendly staff from reception to waitresses & waiters & bar staff Our Penthouse room was amazing, very spacious, beautifully decorated & the bathroom was one of the best we've stayed in. Our evening meal & breakfast was delicious too.

We loved it all, our stay for our wedding anniversary was fabulous from start to finish, but we did have to climb up 3 floors to our room. But nevertheless we had an amazing stay. Thank you xx

All quite basic, the restaurant was okay but nothing special; the food was fairly basic and over salted. The room booked was listed as Very Good, it was nice enough but not worth the price tag.

Stairs for an elderly person

Central in the nice town of Llandeilo. Old property but clean and well run. Very good staff. All helpful and trying to make one’s stay comfortable.

Not anything to complain about the hotel itself at all. The main street is however very busy during the day but miraculously more pedestrian friendly in the evening

Spacious room and bathroom. Air conditioning unit in room was very welcome. Staff very pleasant and very helpful when we asked for some slight changes to the menu choices. Good information sent beforehand re unloading luggage in front of the hotel is essential because of car park location behind has steep stairs.

Would have liked a booklet with hotel information in the room, particularly on how to use the air conditioning unit and the shower which was not straightforward and a matter of trial and error because no instructions.

This is the third time I've stayed here. The hotel is charming, centrally located in Llandeilo, with comfortable rooms, good food and drink, car park, and friendly staff.

For anyone with mobility issues some aspects of access could prove difficult, but when you book speak to the staff and they will do their best to help.

Llandeilo is centrally located for excursions but has not that much to offer apart from the Cawdor.

Had a room facing the road so quite noisy especially when deliveries were arriving early morning. Ideally double glazing would have helped.

Very spacious and beautifully furnished room with excellent facilities and roomy bath ! Nice historical touch with named room and history behind that building. Also good to see local food products in room and on menu. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Staff helpful and friendly.

We verbleven in het 2-bedroom townhouse. Dit is een iets verder in de straat en in een ouder gebouw dat aan renovatie toe is. We werden wakker van de krakende vloeren.

My first experience of the Cawdor and hopefully not the last. Attended a wedding weekend where many other guests for the wedding stayed. Polite and attentive Staff , nothing was too much trouble…room , ambience , food , A + Holly + Oli the newly weds could not have wished for a more enlightening weekend. Thanks again to all at the Cawdor 👏

A lift to get upstairs would have been a big help as we had taken elderly parents with us.

the 2 bedroom apartment was very roomy, with one of the bedrooms large enough to fit a foldable bed for children, 2 large bathrooms, modern and clean, the whole apartment nicely decorated. large comfy sofas in living room, very comfy beds, no nasty room perfumes, and also duvets had no overbearing laundry perfumes, which was a relief. luxury bath robes included were a nice touch. the 3 airconditions in the 2 bedrooms and kitchen/living room were very effective, although a bit tricky to figure out how the remotes worked.

the larger bedroom had a closet (which was also the storage room for ironing board, folding bed, ...), but no drawers or other furniture to put things except the small night stands. the kitchen in the apartment was a bit sad. cupboard doors wobbly and not closing properly; considering that this apartment can sleep 4 people, there would not be enough dishes and cutlery for everyone, there was no hand towel to dry dishes or hands. only a very small round table that hardly fit my husband and myself. everyone else would have needed to eat on the sofas/lounge table. ok if you eat out and only want tea or coffee, but not for cooking let alone for 4 people. no stove, just one microwave. on the floor above was the 1 bedroom apartment, and you could hear the people and their children running and rummaging around late at night and very early mornings (7am). otherwise no street noise as the windows face a quiet lane. breakfast was ok but not very generous or particularly good. 2 cans of filter coffee were brewed once in the morning and only kept warm on the filter machine instead of freshly brewed, at 9am there were 3 tiny dried-out pastries left which were from the supermarket, not a bakery which I thought was a bit poor for a 500 pound stay. while we were still eating they were asking us if they can start removing the "buffet" to prepare the room for lunch. not very professional, considering that it was 9.30am maximum. no hot water in the apartment for the 2 days we stayed. handyman tried to fix the boiler on the first day but unsuccessful, showers and kitchen sink stayed cold. staff apologised but made no effort to offer compensation. manager never got in touch although they promised they would be. only when I requested part of my money back per email after a week, they agreed to that.

Attended a family friend’s wedding. Staff, location, food - all were great! If driving, drop off bags before you park. I wish they had air conditioning. It gets rather warm in the rooms, but other than that, i recommend.

Pillows need upgrading they are very flat. Bar should open much later, it's a Hotel!

The room was not normal hotel room, must be looked at floor and window while cleaning. I have noticed spider with web in two places, other than that it was very good.

Fantastic hotel! It had great rooms, staff were fantastic! Food was incredible, staff very attentive, Adam was really helpful checking us in late. All so helpful with different dietary needs. Definitely recommend.

Our room was beautiful .The bathroom was brilliant lovely towels .

On arrival we had to ask for a better room as the one we were given was beyond basic it just wasnt up to standard.However the matter was quickly resolved and we were very happy with the outcome.

There are a few steps to the parking. Not a problem for us, and this is noted in info provided by the hotel.

Great location with easy parking and a lovely courtyard. The staff were genuinely helpful — the lady on breakfast duty even made me a bacon sandwich and coffee to go when I had to leave at 8am. Much appreciated.

Despite being upgraded (I'm not sure what was an upgrade) my room had threadbare sheets and a couple of tired looking throw cushions. I was also presented with my bill for dinner at checkout despite having paid cash the night before. This was particularly annoying.

We booked a night at the Cawdor as our it was our wedding night and we had a small intimate wedding in Carmarthen. The hotel were aware of this and we had nothing to make it special. No glass of bubbly, nobody said congratulations! We booked this hotel due to its reputation and I was quite let down by it.

Hotel appears tired. Worn carpets, scuffed paint. Grout lifting around tiles (and some chipped tiles) in bathroom. Furniture in what appeared to be a lovely room a bit mis matched and a damp patch on the wall.

Gorgeous room in a beautiful building, situated in a fabulous location. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food.

Nothing about the hotel disappointed but we were a bit disappointed about a lot of the shops in the town being closed when we were there. Great neighbourhood and lovely people.

Comfortable bed and a great shower with a convenient location. Portion sizes in the restaurant were huge.

Room was extremely hot, fans had been provided so then a choice was to be made between being a little cooler with noise or not. There are also a lot of stairs and steps to negotiate during a stay, be it from the car park at the rear or to the rooms. I understand this is a listed building so no lifts available, but if you’re not very mobile definitely something to consider.

Beautiful hotel, central location with parking. Bed was like a huge cloud of cotton wool. Room was warm and spacious. Proper full English breakfast. Im always impressed when I get a perfect poached egg and sausages that look like they've been cooked. Will absolutely stay again.

The controls for the bath and shower were not labelled and as a result shower was also a bath and initially with very hot water. Car park to hotel is very steep steps not easy for elderly.

I have wracked my brains and try as I might can find no negatives, apart from having to ask for glasses and breakfast bowls to be made available at breakfast….that really is it.

My and my wife stayed here for our 21st wedding anniversary and had a lovely warm welcome from all the staff we came into contact with. Our room was large and spacious and very clean with a lovely large bathroom. We had a great nights sleep and a very comfortable bed which they had put petals on our bed and some staff wished us happy anniversary. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and was cooked beautifully and plenty of it. Our breakfast was a continental and cooked welsh one and all was prepared to high standard. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend staying here.

The bed was a bit soft

I had a very spacious superior room. Was very happy to have a large bathtub. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Excellent breakfast selection using high quality, local ingredients. Cereals, pastries, fruit, etc were buffet style but the cooked options were delivered to your table - not the dreaded hot buffet that is becoming increasingly common.

The walk from the car park to reception involved two sets of steps, one of which was quite steep and difficult to negotiate with luggage. Any guest with mobility problems who is not travelling alone should be dropped off at the front of the hotel before the car is taken to the car park.

Location is excellent, lovely rooms, friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

We stayed on a quiet Sunday night. There were loads of menu choices and the food was plentiful & delicious . All the staff were very helpful & friendly and happy to help with luggage as no lift. Llandeilo is a nice town with plenty of things to see /do nearby.

Not much really! There are lots of steps - from car park and inside the hotel , but everyone goes out of their way to make sure you’re ok.

We chose this hotel to visit the area and found it to be a very good base. Rooms are very comfortable but suffer from noise from creaky floor boards and traffic if at the front of the building. The restaurant is very good providing a great choice of meals especially when the à la carte menu is available . We enjoyed the sharing platter cheese and charcuterie board offer found in the wine menu to be an excellent choice. Staff are friendly and efficient. Explore the town as there are some interesting independent shops hidden away from the street the hotel is on.

The staff are so friendly, welcoming and cheerful. the food is good and the atmosphere is warm and calm.

I was in a room at the front and it was very noisy with commercial bin collections and deliveries at 5 in the morning on both days I was there.

Honestly, everything was amazing! Room was perfect. Clean, nice size, comfiest bed I have slept in for ages! Reception staff were fantastic. Food in the restaturant was superb. Staff in the restaturant and bar were great, especially when I had a hypo with my diabetes and they quickly got me some sugary drinks to resolve and checked up on me a couple of times during the meal. Couldn't ask for more.

Only thing I didn't like was that I was only staying for one night! I could have stayed for much longer. So definitely will be back.

Room was spacious, modern, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurts and pasties available, followed by a good selection for cooked offerings. Parking was available, be aware that if you are in a large vehicle, it is very tight to turn into - we managed (very carefully) in an SUV though.

Parking is available, but there are many steps down to the front of the property - Just to be aware of if you have mobility issues. This is clearly mentioned in the hotel details though, so we did expect it.

Nice room but a few downsides - toilet didn't flush really well, gargling/bubbling sound in the sink and a machine type noise from somewhere. No lift - I realise it's a listed building but walking 4 sets of stairs was a lot. Staff - very disappointed that most of the staff didn't speak Welsh, only one did out of every member of staff I saw. Breakfast - when I'm paying for breakfast I don't expect to have to do my own coffee or toast. The cups for tea and coffee were very small, if you had a coffee pot on the table it would be better. Juice glasses very small too. Car park - Access from and to the car park isn't acceptable - the stairs etc. What about people with mobility problems and disabled people? It was good that I could park outside to unload/load.

The room was comfortable and clean, had everything you needed, the staff were friendly and helpful, location great. Food amazing.

We were in the front on the main road and there was traffic on and off all night, it is a listed building so unfortunately there is not a lot they can do about it.
