The Giggling Tree

The place is really beautiful, cosy and quiet to eat and relax. We really liked the swimming pool which is clean with a great view on the mountains. It is a good place to watch sunset. You can rent bikes for free and the best rides are next to the door. It is really well placed. The staff is wonderful, kind and helpful. The room are good and clean. The breakfast is really good.

We had a great stay with our 2 children (young adults). We booked 2 triple rooms and there was a double bed and a larger single bed. The team is really lovely and so helpful. They all speak English or enough English to help. We had most of our meals in the hotel in the courtyard thanks to an extensive menu (we mainly had Chinese food but there is a choice of western food as well). There are plenty of activities you can book. We did the dumpling making class, we rented scooters just outside the hotel and there owner of the hotel, Curry is also à Tai Chi master so we took his class which was great (not the Tai chi for older people). This is the best hotel experience we have had. Forgot the view and the amazing sunsets. Thank you Curry, Lucie, Demi and everyone else.

Das Team war super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Konnten spontan einen E-Scooter ausleihen, zu Fuß zum Anleger der Floßfahrten gehen und eine TaiChi Stunde nehmen. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit.

Une ambiance chaleureuse et familiale, avec un personnel avenant qui a pris le temps de discuter plusieurs fois avec nous lors du séjour. La chambre était jolie, nous avons apprécié la vue du coucher de soleil sur la terrasse ainsi que la piscine. Nous recommandons !

Les finitions dans la salle de bain étaient un peu approximatives, la vue est moins dégagée que sur les photos (notamment sur les côtés) et le service à table lors des repas était assez long.

Sincèrement c’est un très bon rapport qualité prix. Il est parfaitement équipé, et le personnel est adorable, toujours aux petits soins. Le resto est très bon aussi!

Big outdoor area for dining and having some drinks. The hotel is 10min away from Yangshou West street by DiDi nicely located in the valm valley of TianJia river. The team organized for us trips, etc. and was very helpful. Everyone spoke English…

L’unico hotel dove abbiamo chiacchierato in inglese con lo staff ed erano molto gentili e disponibili. Buona colazione e anche il ristorante

La stanza molto umida ma è anche la vicinanza al fiume e andrebbe fatto qualche lavoro di manutenzione

La habitación grande, limpia y con unas vistas impresionantes. Tienen restaurante en un patio muy acogedor y tranquilo y la comida está muy buena. Y lo mejor de todo son los trabajadores, son todos muy simpáticos y amables y casi todos hablan inglés. Está muy cerca del rio Yulong y tienes las montañas delante. Super recomendable!

The hotel is really nice, the position is great but what stands out is the staff. Never seen such an amazing staff, they are nice, helpful, easy going, ready to help you with everything with the activities planning and organization (there is so much stuff to do in yangshuo). Very beautiful people

Personeel was geweldig: heel behulpzaam, kundig en vriendelijk. Ze helpen je met alles en bedenken ook oplossingen wanneer het een keer niet lijkt te lukken. Ze boeken kaartjes voor activiteiten en helpen je met overal te komen. Gratis vet goede muggenspray! Zou hier zeker weer naar toe gaan!

Het westerse eten in het restaurant was ronduit vies. Het Chinese eten was volgens andere gasten lekker, dat hebben wij niet geprobeerd. Ik zou 100% geen westers eten halen in dit hotel.

Hotel estupendo pero necesita mejorar las instalaciones. No tienen buen mantenimiento y hay cosas que no funcionan. El personal muy amable.

Un bel emplacement à l’écart de la « folie » de yangshuo et pour autant avec une très belle rivière et des rizières à proximité. Grande chambre dans le nouveau bâtiment, très agréable.

Certains plats du restaurant pourraient être améliorés et le service - bien que très gentil et attentionné - est parfois un peu lent.

A beautiful and peaceful setting, a few kilometres from the town but right by the Yulong River. The old farm buildings are used well to create a communal space for dining so you can chat to other guests (assuming you want to!). They'll organise trips, drivers, etc. The reception staff speak good English, and the menu is interesting and varied with some western food among the delicious local dishes.

One of the best places I've ever stayed!!! Everything was outstanding - from the friendliness of the people working there and their constant willing to help tou with whatever, to the whole atmosphere of the place, brilliant location, stunning views and surroundings, delicious fresh food! I'm very sorry I left to Guilin after a week spending in the GigglingTree Yangshuo, should've stayed a couple of nights more!

Sehr freundlicher Empfangund großes Bemühen der Gastgeber alles zum Wohle des Gastes möglich zu machen. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, alles gut über das Team von Giggling Tree zu organisieren. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das angebotene Essen was köstlich! Die Lage ist perfekt, um mit dem Elektroroller die Umgebung zu erkunden.

Das Team war super freundlich. Viele können englisch. Man hat jeden Wunsch erfüllt bekommen. Es gibt wirklich Spitzen Kaffee (und ich komme aus Wien) mit einer sehr guten Siebträger Maschine. Das Wasser, was man im Zimmer und überall in Flaschen zur Verfügung gestellt bekommt ist so gut. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Den Swimmingpool hatte ich nicht benutzt aber er war sauber und die Familien die mit Kindern da waren meinten, es wäre der Hit. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Es gibt westliches Essen was sehr gut ist. Auch eine gute Pizza. Das lokale Essen werde ich vermissen. Alles in allem: ich werde ganz bestimmt nochmal dort hinfahren

The staff were really warm and friendly. They could converse in both English and Chinese. The location is very scenic and peaceful.

The staff are considerate and easy to talk to, service is thoughtful, meals taste great, and the room is very clean. We had to check out the next day due to travel plans, and we’d love to stay again next time.

A quaint and gorgeous little property, with an ancient Chinese feel, and an option of modern rooms.

C’est un véritable petit havre de paix et de bonne humeur. On y mange vraiment bien (appréciable après les restos de rues !) et le patio du restaurant est incroyablement reposant. Les chambres du nouveau bâtiment sont ultra confortables et la vue est très chouette (bien qu’entre 2 autres bâtiments). L’emplacement est idéal pour aller à pied au bambou raft ou faire des balades à pieds ou à vélo le long de la rivière. Enfin et surtout le personnel est adorable, parle bien anglais (rare!) et est de très bon conseil pour tout + ultra efficace. Nous avons vu pas mal d’autres établissements très beaux et bien placés au bord de la rivière, mais si nous devions revenir nous reviendrions au même endroit..

We stayed here for the second time - our first visit was over 8 years ago, and now we returned with kids. It was just as good and pleasant as we remembered. The hotel atmosphere has a charming old-style farm vibe, and the swimming pool offers a beautiful view of the mountains. The hotel also arranges cool (paid) activities for children, such as dumpling making and fan painting, which our kids enjoyed. We rented bikes to explore the nearby river, and Laura was great helping us book tickets and a driver for the Sanjie Liu show.

The room lighting could be better; illumination felt quite poor. And there's a minor inconvenience (not the hotel’s fault): there were a lot of mosquitos. Given the countryside location, this is expected and not something the hotel can fully control.

The staff were amazing! The location and views were fantastic. And the food was delicious.

De medewerkers van het hotel waren enorm vriendelijk. Het voelde als een hechte groep collega’s die alles voor de gasten over hebben. Alles verzorgde ze op en top. Ze deden enorm hun best om in het engels te communiceren.

We waren hier 14 jaar geleden al eens geweest. Inmiddels een andere eigenaar maar de sfeer, het comfort, het eten en de vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid van de medewerkers zijn nog altijd hetzelfde, top. Heel blij met het zwembad en de beschikbaarheid van fietsen voor tochtjes door de fantastische omgeving. Aanrader!

The food could be improved: I found it very salty. Some staff were really friendly and helpful but some also verged on rude and gave misleading information.

Todo es un sitio con mucho encanto, hemos estado 3 veces en Yangshuo y este es el mejor hotel con diferencia. Los dueños son un encanto, muy buena gente y muy humildes. Estuvimos toda la familia y las habitaciones limpias, las camas muy cómodas. El restaurante muy bueno, con comida muy buena. Estuvimos desayunado y cenado allí. Mi hija se puso mala y los dueños acompañaron a mi marido y mi hija al hospital y se quedaron allí hasta que la subieron a planta para ayudar a traducir el chino. Un encanto estoy muy agradecida. Y a las 7 de la mañana volvieron al hospital para ver como había pasado la noche y si necesitaban algo. Las chicas que trabajan allí un encanto. Encima hablan todos ingles que eso también es un punto a su favor.Volveremos allí seguro

Personnel très sympathique. Très belle chambre, spacieuse avec belle vue, joli coin aménagé pour prendre le thé. Nous avons pris le repas du soir qui était parfait (canard gingembre,) le personnel fait des efforts pour communiquer avec les hôtes, C est agréable. Nous avons loué des vélos pour faire une balade le long de la rivière.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Das Hotel gehört einem Niederländer, was man an der Ausstattung merkt. Alice, die chinesische Managerin, ist die gute Seele und schafft es, dass die Unterkunft einen sehr familiären und persönlichen Flair hat, man fühlt sich dort gleich sehr wohl. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft und ich hab mit dem Rad eine tolle Tour den Fluss lang gemacht. Räder kann man im Hotel mieten.

Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame mensen werken er, met name Alice. Ze was erg vriendelijk voor onze kinderen. Ook het eten is er uitstekend, van ontbijt, lunch tot aan diner.

De omgeving bij het zwembad had netter gemogen als ook het water wat na een paar dagen troebel was.

Hotel situado en un entorno privilegiado, tiene 2 zonas, la "antigua" y un edificio más moderno justo al lado. Nos alojamos en el edificio moderno y fué una pequeña desilusión hasta que entramos en la habitación. Muy nueva, limpia y moderna, y con 2 grandes ventanales uno en cada lado del "piso", que enmarcaban las maravillosas montañas de Yangshuo como si fueran lienzos! El restaurante tiene bastantes opciones, y está bastante bien. Hicimos un curso de dumplings interesante. Tienen bicilcetas que no pudimos utilizar porque ibamos con un bebé, pero tienen algunas con sillas de niños, que para visitar la zona, tiene que ser un lujo. Nos ayudaron en todo. Para repetir sin duda!

The pictures on booking.com do not give an accurate reflection of reality. There is a building constructed right in front of the building of The Gigglng tree which takes away 50% of the view. We love the place for the people but the expectations where managed differently. Also cleaning could be much more profound!

The most stunning place you can stay in Yangshuo. Surrounded by the famous mountains, the converted barns are made into cosy rooms/dining areas and the terrace is as charming as it is beautiful. We stayed in the newer part in a 2 bedroom suite which comfortably slept my whole family (2 adults, 3 kids). We had stunning views from almost every window. The beds are very comfortable and the Aircon was very cold (much needed in July). What really makes this hotel special are the staff. Everyone is so friendly, hard working and happy to help. You can book almost everything through them. Most of the staff speak excellent English. Their menu is extensive and in the 5 days we stayed there, we had almost all our meals there and every dish was delicious. Honestly, the few meals we had outside didn’t compare to the quality of the hotel’s. Thank you to all the staff at The Giggling Tree. What an amazing place run by wonderful people.

Booked this room for my 70 year old father and his partner who lives in China. He loved the hotel and kept saying over and over what a great choice it was. The 2 bedroom suite was extremely comfortable, clean and the views are stunning. Food is so good at the restaurant and the staff ware very hard working and friendly.

The staff at the Giggling Tree are great. They make the place so good. Always proactive, accommodating and willing to help. Great facilities nearby for biking, climbing, kayaking etc. and the team will book and arrange these at decent prices. Food is good/OK. Perhaps better for kids than adults. The hotel was recommended to me by 2 sets of friends and I will do the same for any families visiting
