Green View Safari Resort

The hosts were very nice and welcoming and cooked delicious food. Very good location for the safari!

The bed was quite uncomfortable but it was ok for 1 night

Wonderful stay from start to finish. Booked half board and afternoon safari. The food was the absolute star. For dinner they prepared a buffet for us and another couple and we also got a soup and a dessert. Really delicious! Breakfast was just as good with many different varieties that we had not tried before and enjoyed. The room was large with a very nice bathroom.

Nothing

A super cute couple runs the guesthouse, and they are incredibly helpful and friendly. We also went on an amazing safari tour where we saw more than 20 elephants, three crocodiles, and many monkeys, peacocks, and birds! The price is also fantastic. We can highly recommend staying here!

Clean and large room, quiet and right in nature. Very comfortable bed. Great location for Safaris, you just drive across the beautiful dam and you are there Safari we organized through them the guide/driver was great at his job. We saw so many animals! Do get their dinner and breakfast, so delicious and fresh. Real local food! Last but not least it's a family running the place, no soulless chain. 100% recommend.

Very friendly & welcoming guesthouse!

It was all good.

Erittäin viihtyisä majoitus metsän laidassa. Mukavat omistajat ja maukas aamiainen. Erityismaininta safarista.

Location is awesome - right in the bush with peacocks all around it. Staff were great. We had a power shortage due to the harsh weather and owner arrange the generator so we can have the power throughout our stay. Great breakfast

Nothing

Me encantó!

Nada.

Super Unterkunft.

- experienced safari driver - breakfast - big apartment - bathroom

The staff were friendly and location was good for Uduwalawe National Park. The grounds of the place were nice and full of greenery!

The room was quite dirty and there were a lot of bugs. This is the only place in Sri Lanka that I have been bitten a lot by mosquitoes. The hosts were also difficult to get hold of by WhatsApp.

The couple that run the resort were lovely and helped us out with everything we needed, including getting laundry done. We booked a 4 hour safari morning tour with them and it was amazing! The guide spoke English really well and took us to the parts of the park that didn’t have as many other jeeps around for quiet time with the beautiful elephants. We had dinner and breakfast at the property, it was very tasty and good price! Our room looked out into the jungle and was so peaceful.

Everything was great. Kind and helpful staff. Big and comfortable rooms. Comfortable beds.Tasty and big breakfast.

Rooms were clean but not spotless. Wifi was sometimes not working

- such good dinner and breakfast - the safari we booked through this place was amazing and rly good value for money - lovely location

- ants in bathroom (it has an exposed window so hard to combat though)

The accommodation was modern spacious and comfortable in a beautiful location. Our terrace had a beautiful view through the trees. The food was delicious with different Sri Lankan curries each night and fabulous breakfasts. The owners were lovely, responding immediately to any request and organising an excellent safari with a very good guide who spoke excellent English. A superb place to stay for visiting Uduwalawe national park

We liked everything.

Lovely host

Extremly relaxing, just as their logo. Our fantastic hosts arranged everything for us. Airport pick up, Safari with breakfast in the National park, birdwatching tour and gave us good advices throughout our stay. If you are interested in animals we strongly recommend the 7h tour arranged by the hosts. If you are interested in birds you can just hang out in the hotel and also join a birthwatching tour. The guide is very good in species, friendly and took us to remote places were we could wait for elephants and other animals to show up. It was a short walk to the Elephant transit home from the hotel. The city of Udawalawe is also very relaxed and people are so friendly. Breakfast and dinner was delicious and we felt so welcome all the time - the hosts are really amazing.

Nice Dinner and beautifully located in the Jungle. Good Support from staff for the Safari and other activities! The safari and its tour guide was very good!

The bathroom was a bit worn down (the sink was loose from the wall) and one of the bed sheets had some stains.

„Bardzo polecam, bez żadnych problemów.” „Ppbyt zgodny z oczekiwaniami, polecam.❤️😘

Green View is a wonderful haven. Huge immaculately clean room with 3 double beds for 3 of us. Each bed had its own mosquito net. Jayalath and Prasansha were so welcoming and friendly. They organised a private jeep for our safari the next morning. It was all so easy. They prepared us a delicious array of dishes for our dinner which were all yummy. On our return from the safari, they had prepared a huge breakfast for us. Green View is a lovely place to stay with the most welcoming hosts. Highly recommended.

Přivítali nás úžasní lidé a donesli welcome drink. Celý pobyt hodnotíme výborně a všem co zavítáte do této vesnice vřele doporučujeme. 🌺

The elephant family villa had three four poster beds with mosquito nets. We got a very lovely welcome drink on arrival and the breakfast and dinner is delicious. It is near the elephant transit home which is definitely worth doing and there is also a safari available. There is a nice seating area on the back of the villa with view into the teak forest. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. This place is excellent value for money.

Nothing

We had an outstanding stay with Prashansa and her husband in September 2025 at the GVSR. The room (Eagle Family Suite) was very clean and a good size for three adults, with a balcony and ample seating to take in the forest. The serenity and greenery on the property is fantastic (if peace is what you’re looking for). It was great to also laze about in the hammocks in the large garden area they have. And there’s a bathtub in the suite we booked. The food was absolutely delicious and filling (huge portions) for breakfast and dinner (if you decide to eat at the property). The hospitality is wonderful, their motto about guests relaxing and them making things simple really shines through everything they do. They also organised an incredible safari at Udawalawa National Park for us. Amille is a very experienced and knowledgeable safari guide who took us to great spots to find elephants in a relatively dry season when most elephants are hiding. We got really close to some incredible wild elephants thanks to his great driving without disturbing their plans/activities. GVSR is just a few moments from a really amazing Elephant Transit Home as well, which you should try to visit. Don’t hesitate for a second to choose GVSR for your visit to Udawalawa.

As with any forest area there are mosquitoes and other bugs, be prepared! But not something in anyone's control in this kind of setting and it didn't really affect us. The wifi went out and we should have immediately asked the hosts to check on it, but we didn't. He fixed it promptly once we asked.

Zeer vriendelijke host.

Niets

The place, food, location, rooms . All were good

The place is surrounded by greenery and feels very peaceful. The host was really kind and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent! The WiFi worked very well. The value for money was excellent. I stayed there at the price quoted on Booking even though I hadn't done the safari with them, which I've read isn't available at other accomodations. I highly recommend it!

Exceeded expectations! An extra bed was provided on request with no hassle. The place is clean, modern, and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and dinner was also available. Transport and safari tours were offered, which made things so convenient. The staff were absolutely welcoming, helpful, and went above and beyond – 10/10! I’ll definitely recommend this to all my friends and family and would happily stay again. Loved the relaxing hammocks and the bathroom was superb – a perfect spot to chill.

Nothing.

Amazing bungalows, very clean and the staff were so welcoming. The best part: the safari!!

The hot shower didn't work or we didn't know how to make it work

Taken care of really with attention. Nice people nice place. Can’t ask for more.

Tutto fantastico. Moglie e marito deliziosi.

Loved this place and the hosts. They were so welcoming. They helped us to arrange - taxi for our next 2 stops, safari for 7h and a SPA visit. Dont book other places for dinner. They offer home made buffee of local food for cheap price. We dinned there 2 nights and both were amazing. Both hosts are the friendliest ever. Leave a nice tip for them! They are worth it.

Lo staff eccezionale, disponibile e cortese. Ambiente familiare. Colazione ottima.

The resort in itself was very comfortable and relaxing. The hosts were very accommodating to all our requests, especially to our vegan preferences. They even prepared and gave us packed vegan breakfast at 5.30 a.m., just before we started off for our safari trip. The host upgraded our room to a bigger unit (since our booked room was undergoing renovation). The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was especially clean and spotless. It even had a full bathtub. We enjoyed the resort. Wished we could have stayed longer in the resort. This was the best resort we stayed in our Sri Lanka trip. Thank you for hosting us.

None.

It was very easy to communicate with the owner of the resort. They were able to schedule a safari at the national park nearby and they had breakfast ready for us when we got back. Dinner was also prepared for our anticipated arrival time.

Honestly nothing really.

Recommend!! Worth the money! Very, very friendly owners

Excellent stay and the staff were lovely. They helped me organise a safari the evening before for a good price (better than booking online through a safari company). Would highly recommend staying here!

Owners welcome Fresh fruit basket and water Bed nets and clean cotton sheets Beautiful quiet location Highly recommended

Lack of hot water in main shower and bath.

Bardzo przyjemny pobyt! Właściciele niezwykle mili i pomocni, dbający o komfort gości. Pokoje czyste, przestronne i klimatyzowane. Kolacja i śniadanie przepyszne, wszystko świeże i starannie przygotowane. Zdecydowanie polecam!

Hele lieve vrouw en lekker ontbijt. Schone kamer

The room was big and comfortable. The couple owning the place were very helpful and arranged both safari and taxi to our next destination for us to a good price. They cooked both dinner and breakfast.

There were some ants in the bathroom, but nothing that bothered me.

Klare Weiterempfehlung!

Lovely staff, great service, cute place near the park

Super friendly host and his wife Delicious breakfast, dinner and welcome drink They organised safari for us Very welcoming Big room Spacious bathroom Friendly pets Good value for money Convenient location (walking distance to the elephant orphanage) Very quiet

Everything! The dinner and breakfast were fabulous, the owners lovely and the location perfect! :)

Super place with affordable rates and friendly staff.
