Pasamos aquí 4 noches y nos sentimos muy cómodos. La habitación estaba limpia y al llegar olía muy bien. El aire acondicionado funciona bien. El desayuno bueno y variado, cada día diferente. Tienen servicio de lavandería. El dueño muy amable y flexible, nos dijo que si queríamos podíamos quedarnos más noches sin problema, y nos pudimos quedar una noche más. Ubicación excelente.

Fantastic location on the main street of Arugam Bay.

Bed only had a thin sheet and the air conditioner directly over the bed meant we felt too cold and if it was off too hot. No hot water, hand soap, hand towel or bath mat.

Rooms were run down and the whole vibe of the place was grubby.

De familiekamer was zeker ruim genoeg. Enkel lagen er helaas ruwe handdoeken op het bed die je moest gebruiken als laken. De douche werkte niet naar behoren, geen warm water enkel lauw. Het ontbijt was pover, enkel wat Sri Lankaanse pannenkoeken en ook lang moeten wachten (ontbijt gevraagd om 09.00 en pas om 09.40 iets gekregen), enkel koffie of thee en helaas geen water.

Good rooms close to the beach We had 2 rooms on the second floor. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel is not on the beach but takes 5 minutes to walk across the road and get to the beach. Close enough for us. Breakfast was a the front of the property and was included in the price. It was a set breakfast and was different for each of the 10 days we stayed there. We ate out on 2 nights, we went to samantees for a set meal of Sri Lankan curry dishes and that was Fantastic for the price. The 2 night we ate at the gecko bar, which is where we spent most of our time. Lunch and plenty of beers, they have su beds to lay on here. Again reasonable in cost. The finally night we ate at our hotel and was told it was BBQ but it turned out to be curry. But it was very enjoyable all the same.

Great Stay in Abay We (2 girls) stayed at the Surf and Sand for 6 nights. Mubarak is a nice guy which helps you out in every sitation. He is VERY care taking and wants to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The price was ok for the room and the property was very clean, they took care of the garden and the "lounge". Breakfast was included, which was fantastic, because he changed the breakfast everyday!! Loved it. If you want to have dinner, just let him know, it was really delicious, we had prawns. Our room was perfect for 2 people and the shower worked quite well. The only two negative things i can say (i really need to search for it, because it was a perfect stay) that the room wasnt cleaned once while our stay, but i guess its not common in srilanka. And the water was a bit yellow, maybe that comes from the pipes. To summ it up, i can say, we enjoyed the stay and had a great time.

We spent 4 nights here and we had a great time! The room is good, with AC and fan. The bathroom is big too. Special mention to the breakfast! Everyday one different and all were delicious. The owner is really nice too.

Very good hotel +: Nice clean rooms with air-conditioning and a big bathroom. Staff is awesome and you get a nice little breakfast with coffee/tea and a fruit juice every morning. A one minute walk to the beach and loads of good restaurants around. -: All was perfect.

Nice and friendly place at Arugambay We stayed here for 10 nights and everything was ok. The owner is super friendly and flexible and the breakfast is super good. You can customise breakfast as you wish as well can use the kitchen if you love to cook yourself. Highly recommended!

Had a great stay! We stayed in the Surf and Sand hotel for our entire stay. Exactly what we needed, nice, simple, clean rooms with AC. We also appreciated the outside seating area. Mubarak took great care of us, he always organised anything we needed, cleaned our room or washed our towels and clothes whenever we asked for it. He’s a great cook, we enjoyed our breakfasts a lot (usually eggs or sri lankan pancakes with fruit salad and a delicious smoothie). He also cooked dinner for us a few times, which was always delicious. We’re definitely coming back!!

Excellent location, great rooms and a very friendly host. We had breakfast cooked for us every morning and it was of a very high quality. The owner even cooked us dinner one night which was amazing. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in A Bay

Lovely stay – the place was very clean, with comfortable beds and a good breakfast. The owner was so welcoming, and the cute kittens were a bonus! We’ll definitely be back :)

Super emplacement à 3 min à pied de la plage et également en pleins centre (restaurants, boutiques…). L’hôte est vraiment très gentil, il nous a organisé le petit déjeuné tous les matins et caler un cours de surf qui était au top ! Petite terrasse également pour chaque chambre.

Bezproblemowy kontakt z właścicielem, szybkie zameldowanie nawet w środku nocy. Właściciel wymienił nam pieniądze po bardzo dobrym kursie, załatwił taksówkę w świetnej cenie, dostępne były także opcje prania, safari, masażu i więcej. Dobre śniadanie przygotowywane przez właściciela na świeżo: pieczywo, jajka, dżem, owoce, domowe soki owocowe, kawa, herbata. Pokój czysty, sprawna klimatyzacja, wygodne łóżko. Kilka minut do plaży, restauracje, kawiarnie, sklepy. Zdecydowanie miejsce godne polecenia i mamy nadzieję że uda nam się wrócić!

Nicht sauber, öfter am Tag kein Wasser verfügbar, Leitungswasser war oft hellbraun; Zimmer nicht sauber

Gute Lage, nur übt die Straße und man ist am Strand. Das Hotel liegt an der Hauptstraße, aber dennoch ruhig.

Die Zimmer sind sehr karg eingerichtet, Stromkabel gucken aus der Wand. Das Frühstück ist mehr schlecht als recht, Toast mit Margarine und Marmelade dazu einige Bananen. Lediglich Kaffee, Tee und frisch gemachter Saft waren ok. Am nächsten Tag gab es Pancakes, für die Kinder toll, doch ohne Alternative.

La proximité de la plage

La proximité de la route, les travaux très proches des chambres, les chambres très vieillottes.

Eigenaar was vriendelijk. Heeft ons upgrade gegeven nadat we hadden geklaagd over kamer, gelukkig maar! Ontbijt op zich best prima, maar geen keuze; of een mega zoete pannenkoek, of toast met ei. Onze dochter was jarig in Arugam. Eigenaar heeft ballonnen opgehangen en taartje gehaald voor haar. Dat was echt heel lief!

Eerste kamers leken echt totaal niet op de foto’s; kleine saaie kamer, geen koelkast en geen klamboe. Tweede, betere kamer was boven. Hier wel koelkast, iets meer ruimte. Schoonmaak is écht zeer matig, dikke stofwolken op kastje en onder bed. Het is niet echt gezellig, er is een patio met wat tafels voor ontbijt, daar kan je wel zitten, maar het is eigenlijk allemaal matig. Foto’s op booking komen totaal niet overeen met de werkelijkheid!!

Breakfast was amazing !

It was basic, simple and value for money. The owner was super chilled and friendly and happily let me check in early. There was no fuss and he just left you to go about your business. Room was very clean and the bed was comfy Location is good and Salty Beer opposite is a great restaurant

Room was a little bit small and dark for my liking but the fridge was useful. Rooms aren’t great in Abay so for me this was a reasonable room at a reasonable price

Die Zimmer waren sauber. Der Hausherr war sehr nett als mein Sohn den Schlüssel verloren hat.

40 Minuten auf das Frühstück gewartet. Einmal hat der Hausherr zugesagt, dass im Hotel gekocht wird, wie haben uns angemeldet dann war aber doch kein Essen.... ohne Info. Das Hotel ist sehr einfach und von außen abstoßend.

Friendly staff, beautiful breakfast

This is likely the best resort in Nilaveli. It is truly beach front. The rooms were spacious with a large comfortable bed. Lovely pool and grounds. A good restaurant and bar with reasonable prices. Helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed drinks and meals at tables on the beach. We chose Nilaveli for its magnificent beach with few people around. A visit to Upuveli confirmed our choice!

We had an excellent stay here. The rooms are simple and comfy and the breakfasts here are sensational. Uncle will tailor them to your desires and give you a fresh fruit juice every single day. He even packed idlis for us for a special breakfast coz we were leaving for the airport super early. Great location, just across the road from the beach but not in the centre of town where it can get a bit loud. Great value for money and a sense of home, can’t wait to go back to A bay and stay there 💛

We had a very nice stay here. The man who runs this place is so lovely. Lovely and clean rooms, very spacious with good aircon. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes, und leider hatten wir ziemlich viele Ameisen. Hier sollte definitiv nochmal nachgebessert werden. Ein paar Dinge, die ich als Verbesserungsvorschläge hätte: Ein Mülleimer im Bad, eine Badematte, eine Klobürste, eine Seifenschale sowie Duschgel und Shampoo wären super. Ein Moskitonetz über dem Bett wäre auch eine tolle Ergänzung! Am ersten Morgen sind wir ziemlich spät aufgestanden, weil wir uns vom Schock eines Unfalls erholen mussten – unser TukTuk war mit einem Motorrad kollidiert. Als wir um 12:30 Uhr runterkamen, war der Besitzer sofort zur Stelle und hat uns angeboten, noch schnell ein Frühstück zu machen, obwohl wir schon so spät dran waren. Das war echt unglaublich nett. Als wir ihm von unserem Unfall erzählt haben, meinte er, wir sollten uns keine Sorgen machen – er würde sich um alles mit der Reparatur kümmern. Wir haben ihn dann auch noch nach einer Surf-Stunde gefragt, und ohne zu zögern hat er seinen Freund angerufen und alles organisiert. Faiz, der Surf-Lehrer, war super und ich kann ihn nur empfehlen! Als wir von der Surf-Stunde zurückkamen, standen der Besitzer und der Mechatroniker bei unserem TukTuk und haben es repariert – ich war wirklich beeindruckt von dieser Hilfsbereitschaft. Das Frühstück war auch großartig, vor allem die Smoothies! Am zweiten Morgen gab es super leckere Pfannkuchen mit Nutella und Bananen. Insgesamt eine tolle Erfahrung, trotz kleiner Mängel im Zimmer.

Das Zimmer ist groß und sauber. Das Personal ist hilfsbereit und freundlich. Auch die Lage ist sehr gut, man ist in 5min zu Fuss am Strand.

Das Bad könnte etwas besser ausgebaut sein und im Vergleich zu bisherigen Unterkünften ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nicht optimal.

Die Lage der Unterkunft war super, einmal über die Straße und man ist direkt am Meer. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und gemütlich und es gab ein super leckeres und reichhaltiges Frühstück, wobei der Inhaber gerne auf unseren Wunsch alles vegan zubereitet hat. Insgesamt waren alle Menschen rund um das Surf & Sand sehr nett und hilfsbereit und wir haben unseren Aufenthalt vor Ort nochmal um eine Woche verlängert.

The only problem in 3 weeks was at this place! This place is overpriced and not clean. The owner is the worst, lying about not being able to change the dates and not receiving my request from Booking.com He was avoiding us the whole time. Until there was a cockroach in our room, he got uncomfortable and wanted to finally help us to change our stay. At that time I could see on his phone that he was receiving all my requests from booking.com He promised me he would help us the day after and again he was lying. I don’t know how he gets the reviews online, but I assume it’s all fake.

Conveniently located on the main street where all the action is, with street parking right by the boundary wall—super easy! 🚗 The rooms are clean, though the linens and toiletries could use a little upgrade. But the real MVP? Indaka, the super friendly and helpful staff member. Perfect if you're into surfing or swimming at the nearby sea! ….a walk on where loafers buzzes after 6pm.

Es kam zu einem sehr unangenehmen Vorfall mit dem Hotelbesitzer. Er kam nachts um 2:30 Uhr von einer Party zum Hotel für einen Check-In und hat in diesem Zusammenhang mitbekommen, dass ich (weiblich) alleine auf unserem Zimmer war. Er klopfte mehrfach an die Tür, bat darum diese zu öffnen und blieb einige Minuten vor der Tür stehen weiter klopfend, obwohl ich ihn darum bat, das vermeintliche Klopapier (weshalb er angeblich vorbei gekommen sei) vor der Tür abzustellen. Ich habe mich im der Situation sehr unsicher gefühlt und Angst gehabt. Als wir ihn am nächsten Tag mit der Situation konfrontierten erfand er verschiedene Lügengeschichten und wurde leicht aggressiv.

Wi-Fiは不安定。朝ごはんに時間がかかることもある。シャワーに熱いお湯は期待しないほうがいいです。

Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichhaltig. Jeden Tag hat Mubarak ein anderes Frühstück zubereitet. Er hat uns bei allem unterstützt, uns Surflehrer, Tuk Tuk Fahrer und Transport organisiert und das vom Abend bis zum nächsten Morgen. Da das WLAN nicht gut funktionierte, hat er für uns SIM Karten besorgt. Man kann mit allen Wünschen zu ihm kommen - er organisiert es irgendwie. Auch Indiga war immer zuvorkommend und sehr lustig! Die Zimmer sind einfach aber sehr sauber und zweckmäßig. Wir reisen nur ungern wieder ab und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

La chambré était top, juste ce qu’il fallait. L’emplacement était vraiment bien. L’hôtel est situé à même pas 3 minutes à pied de la plage. Et il est situé vraiment dans la rue principale de Arugam Bay avec tous les restaurants et les boutiques.

De eigenaar deed zijn best om elke dag een ander ontbijt te maken, wat ook nog eens lekker smaakte! De accomodatie ligt aan de weg met winkels en restaurantjes.

De kamer was niet schoon en er is na 4 dagen verblijven niet een keer gevraagd of we nieuwe handdoeken oid wilde. Na 4 dagen op het strand ligt er toch wel wat zand binnen. Echter werkt de wifi ook niet en was het douchewater koud. Tip: - Plaats een glazen wand of een douchegordijn tussen de toilet en de douche.

Morgenmaden og aftensmaden var faktisk god. Kaffen og juice lækker. Der var også en medarbejder, som var meget opmærksom på os, som gæster, han var virkelig god. Området kan noget, stranden var god og byen byder på flere fede steder med god mad og gode cocktails😊

Der manglede rengøring og service. De havde ikke de rum vi havde bestilt. Rummede var meget små. Vi troede hotellet lå på stranden, men vi skulle lige gå over hovedvejen, for at komme til stranden, det var ihvertfald det indtryk vi fik, da vi bookede hotellet. Ejeren var meget optaget af penge. Vi lavede en aftale om ris and curry til en bestemt pris, da vi kom og skulle til at spise, ville han have det dobbelte, det afviste vi selvfølgelig. Vi var 2 familier på 8 personer, som var afsted på rundtur. Dette sted var det dårligste og det dyreste. Billederne på Booking, stemmer ikke overens med vores oplevelse. Han fremstod for os som grisk og det var ærgerligt. Vi havde 2 overnatninger.

Geen warm water in de douche. Handdoeken werden niet vervangen na 2 dagen. Wifi was ronduit erg slecht. De eigenaar presenteerde zich als een enorme bluffer, die alles beter wist. Uiteindelijk betaalde wij de totale som zoals omschreven, maar kwam hij met tax. Er kwam voor 3 dagen ongeveer 25 euro bij. We kregen geen nota en het geld verdween in zijn zak. Hij presenteerde zich geirriteerd omdat we de jungle tour niet bij hem hadden geboekt. Als we bij hem.zouden boeken zouden we veel meer Luipaarden zien, terwijl alle tours dezelfde route door het gebied rondgaan. Al met al een man zich erg populair voordoet met zijn praatjes. Geen aanrader omdat er veel meer keuze is in de buurt.

La verdad que todo. Habitación amplia, buen aire acondicionado, una ducha con agua caliente, la terraza de la habitación para poder estar en la calle. Además, desayuno muy rico que lo van cambiando todo el día. Tienen también servicio de lavandería. Y el dueño te ayuda en lo que pueda para organizar los dias. La ubicación para mí también es buena, a 1 minuto de la playa, y con restaurantes alrededor, pero sin estar en pleno centro. Lo recomiendo.

Comfortable bed, very big bathroom, good AC, with balcony. The room has everything I needed and was clean. It's very quiet, no noise from the street in the room, but still located at the main street and close to the beach, just a short walk! The hotel has a restaurant so it's possible to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The breakfast is amazing, I especially like that I got a different breakfast every day and the portions are big. The staff is very nice. The owner is very kind and helped me with everything, I felt home here and ended up staying for a long time. I totally recommend this hotel, for short or long stays.

Słabe oświetlenie pokoi i mało światła słonecznego. Śniadania mało różnorodne, małe i powtarzalne, nie porównywalne z tymi, które jedliśmy w innych obiektach.
