Zimmer und Bad waren extrem klein, für zwei Nächte aber auch okay.

The cozy, homy vibe of the place and the cleanliness. It's realy hard to find really clean accommodation in Medan/Sumatra and this was top notch.

I enjoyed everything, if I were to choose something - maybe the location.

Very cute property, clean and comfortable room. Staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful - full of recommendations. Location was peaceful, but not far from the city. Coffee show downstairs was convenient.

A lovely hotel with beautiful decor and a unique atmosphere. It’s filled with vintage furniture and objects, making it feel almost like an antique market. The staff was incredibly kind, and the restaurant was excellent. The location is good—it’s not right in the city center, but it’s only about a 10-minute motorbike ride away. Highly recommended!

They let me use the fridge to keep water and fruit. The lobby had several interesting things like a Vespa from the 50's and gramophones. I like to support family owned businesses like this one. I enjoyed talking with the owner and appreciated his suggestions of places to visit in the city. It was nice having a restaurant in the accommodation.

The air conditioner didn't work very well. The bathroom was small, didn't have a mirror and when I showered everything got wet. The wifi password changed twice while I was there for just 2 nights. I understand why they put me on the 3rd floor having to climb more stairs.

Super nette Mitarbeiter. Haben viele wertvolle Informationen rund um Sumatra, aber auch andere Inseln Indonesiens mit uns geteilt. Leckeres Frühstück. Raum war sauber.

Also kleine Anmerkung möchte ich erwähnen, dass Aufhängemöglichkeiten im Bad für das Handtuch super waren. Außerdem hatten wir Insekten im Zimmer.

DEFINITELY NOT A PLACE TO STAY IF YOU WANT QUITE NIGTH. We pay for one night and we only sleep one because in the middle of the night at 2:00 am the AC suddenly stop working and they come to the room we're my wife was sleeping to try to fix it at 2:00 am i said to the guy give me another room and he said to me that i need to pickup all my belongings to change the room, i said to the guy this is not possible give me another room and after he call like for 15 min other person he finally give us another room. After this i ask for a reschedule of the second night and the accepted just to cancel when we was supposed to come back because they said we said Saturday and we said very clearly Monday. Anyways story don't finish here i block him in WhatsApp because he continues arguing and after blocking he sent me again by another WhatsApp to continue arguing.

Great place with great staff. I stayed here many nights, super comfy beds for great value. Nice restaurant downstairs with very friendly and informative owner. Highly recommended if you’re staying in Medan.

WiFi could be improved as you need a new code each day and it doesn’t work on all devices. Also if you plan to invite guests you must book a separate room as only married couples can stay in the same room.

Really friendly and helpful people run this accommodation, top marks for customer service. Very clean and stylish with everything you need provided in the room Bed was very comfortable and everything is really clean! Great value and highly recommended for Medan Also has a restaurant that serves very tasty dishes. Owner is a super star. So friendly and very knowledgeable about everything you need to know.

The only negative was the WiFi; you need a new voucher code on each day to refresh it and it didn’t work on all my devices so not reliable if you need for work etc. Luckily I had a decent SIM card package so could hotspot the devices from that but if you don’t have a sim card package then be prepared as it might not work for you.

Be warned!! We booked a double room for two people which stated a double bed. We turned up late at night and were given a single room set up for one person (1 towel, 1 bottle of water) We were then told we had to upgrade if we wanted a double bed. After a lot of back and forth proving we had booked a double room and even had a message from the hotel confirming a double room for two people we agreed to upgrade and sort it out when we’d had some sleep. On check out we were presented with the upgrade bill which we had asked booking.com for help with but no one replied, we again showed proof of booking a double room with a double bed for two people. After a lot of back and forth with the receptionist being adamant what what we had actually booked was a single room with double Occupancy (which we had proof was not the case and that that’s not how hotels worked and even if that was true why was it set up for one person) he eventually agreed we didn’t have to pay the upgrade fee but by this point the damage had been done by the way we had been spoken to. The hotel itself was fine, but a long way from town but was fine for the two nights we stayed but absolutely shocking attitude by staff regarding the rooms - we wonder if they just try to scam money out of people and blame booking.com.

The cafe downstairs was very good. The decor of the place was fascinating and interesting. The staff and owner were all fantastic and very helpful with all types of information.

Our stay here was absolutely incredible! The staff were so friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful — they even helped us organize our trip with the local bus. We could leave our luggage before our flight and relax in the cozy café area. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed: fresh towels, soap, air conditioning, and even free water refills. The food and drinks were great too, especially the coffee! If we ever come back to Medan, we wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else. Highly recommended!

This small beautiful hotel is a paradise, everything is perfect here. Friendly staff, excellent food and amazing choice of coffee! Rooms are clean and cozy, the person who worked on design has a very good taste! Really enjoyed staying there and will stay again once in Medan.

A great 2-day stays. The team was helpful, informative and hospitable. Room size was adequately comfortable, with multiple storage compartments. The location is soundly safe and quiet. Café downstairs with good option of local food at reasonable price.

Air-cond in the room that we stayed, 206, was not cold enough even we had to set at 16degC at all times. Felt bad for doing so. Please look on it.

Great place in neighbourhood away from the city noise. Food, coffee roaster and accommodation all in one. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Very comfortable with strong hot shower, comfortable bed and great ac. Would stay again.

Une seule nuit passée dans cet établissement qui a répondu à nos attentes, douche chaude, lits propres.

Juste un étage à monter avec les escaliers avec nos bagages, à savoir mais cela ne nous a pas posé de problème. Légèrement excentré mais les taxis sont économiques pour y accéder.

The staff was super friendly, I loved the cafe where I could have yummy food. Even though Iwas travelling alone I felt safe here.

Jeffri was wonderful- the coffee was great. They had decent breakfast offerings as well. The staff was happy to move our rooms for better internet connection. We were also able to get laundry done quickly.

The hotel was very nice! With retro vibe and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The lobby was pretty and they provide food to order if you are hungry. The indomie bangla was so good. And they help to keep our baggage for a while when we out to buy sourvernier too. Bang retno even help to fix our bike side mirror. Really recommend this place.

We had a great stay at Roemah 28. The staff is super friendly, the food at the restaurant is tasty and they have a huge selection of different coffees. It was no problem to leave our stuff at the reception after checkout, so we could enjoy our day in Medan.

The location is in residential area. It was peaceful and quite. The staff welcome us very nicely even we arrived very late at night.

The restaurant/cafe open a bit late. We were expecting to have our breakfast in the morning because we departed at 7.30am but it was not opened yet. They told us they will be open around 9am. The bed size was also a bit small but it was so cheap already.

The room was not comfortable at all. Firstly the room was far too small for a double bed, there was not space for anything else, so wasn't good for two people. There was barely space to stand let a lone sit. There was no headboard for the bed and a gap behind the back of the bed so the pillow had nothing to rest against. Also the head of the bead was under the window and also the air conditioner which was leaking and dripping on my face when I slept. Very badly designed room with bad energy layout for sleeping.The bed wasn't comfortable at all so overall not a good nights sleep! No hand soap in the bathroom.

The staff are friendly and hardworking. The location is near city. You'll have a cozy cafe at the lounge. Room is clean and equipped with A/C, TV, toilet, towel. You get what you paid.

The bed is quite small for 2 adults. My request for extra towel was rejected. Have to go to the lounge area to iron your clothes. No elevator.

Would highly recommend Roemah 28. Comfy snuggly beds, clean facilities, towels, shampoos, toilet paper all provided, friendly staff, good food and great coffee selection. Even the stairwell landings and hall had furniture, painting and antique decor, flower arrangements. Street walking distance to central shopping. Had a beautiful ambience with retro vintage decor throughout and nice courtyard for outdoor eating. Pizza cart and Vespa collection. Felt like we were in quaint Italian cafe scene. Sorry to say Im not staying in Medan again on travels otherwise we would be back.

Small room but perfect, very good foos and great staff.

- Clean and modern - Toothpaste was empty and I was able to order a toothpaste via whatsapp at midnight at the reception, which was brought to my room! - Restaurant very good - Good cafe - Very quick response to whatsapp - Free drinking water to refill - nice staff - Shampoo and shower gel available - although the bed is small, it was comfortable - Room (and whole lobby) is nicely decorated and looks nice - Shower spray good and water is warm

- deposit of 100,000, which was not mentioned during the booking process - Room key (electronic card) didn't work at first and I had to wait a bit to check in. Didn't take long but my friends were waiting downstairs with the cab driver - Only one towel in the room - normally I always get 2 in other hotels - Double bed relatively narrow - 1 cockroach in the bathroom - the pictures here in the BookingCom app say that unmarried couples are not allowed to sleep in the same room... I think that's very outdated and not in keeping with the times. Even if it is a different culture here. But that didn't bother me much as a solo traveler - wifi (good in itself - as long as you can log in, but sometimes the login to the wifi doesn't work because it just loads after entering the login data...) After I then asked, I got new access data, which made it work again straight away. The next night the same problem occurred again and I couldn't use the wifi. The next morning I got new access data, which also worked again. But until then the internet was unusable for the time being - You can hear outside noises very loudly

The air conditioner needs to be maintain better.

Its very close to the center but not so close to the main road. Its a perfect place to stay. Away from the crowd yet easy to walk around. Safe neighborhood even a bit creepy at night since many abandoned houses around. It was safe though. Two disappointments from me when i stayed the wi fi didn't work on my phone. So strange even its connected. And when i asked the night shift manager/ reception, he seemed not so helpful. He said it works for everyone else so he didn't know what to do. Its okay to be honest but receiving that kind of answer with the tone like 'i dont care, its your problem,' when you just arrived, tired and confused kinda made me feel unwelcome and thought he was kinda rude. First impressions last, in the morning when i said the aircond wasnt cold enough he also said, "Its impossible, the previous guest had no complain and usually its been always good". He asked me to talk to the Day manager/ reception who handled my issues well. The air cond went well, cold and strong. Even though my wi fi issue was still a mystery.

The wi fi didnt work well on my phone and the night reception was a bit rude the way he communicate The bed is comfortable for 1, but i think not so comfortable for two.

The location is a bit far from the main road. The sleep quality is nice. The food and beverages are delicious. During the 2 days and 1 night, their kitchen made my stomach happy. The staff is awesome and friendly.

Cleanliness and facilities

As soon as I checked in, I told the staff that I had changed my plans. They told me that they are okay with refund as long as Booking.com I ok However when I made a request on booking.com, they responded saying that as per company policy they could not refund. Very disappointing experience. Also the food on their restaurant was over priced and of terrible quality

I love the antique style the whole house and cafe. The room so clean and comfortable.

The rooms were just to small for 3 persons. We had 2 'double beds' and that was the whole room! We almost couldn't store our bags anywhere! 2 perons in 1 'double bed' was also a bit of a stretch maybe it is because we were big european dudes but overal just to small. For the bathroom the same thing. For 1 night it is fine tho just not that comfortabel so we would recommend another place!

Very friendly and helpful staff, the hotel is in a quiet location near the centre, plus it is surrounded by a garden. The owner's family was accommodating and arranged transport to the city.

- The breakfast was delicious - Great coffee

- The bed as well as the room were very small

Restaurant and lobby of the hotel are nicely decorated and result in a cosy atmosphere. The menu is varied and tasty, specifically coffee is great as the owner knows all about it and roasts his own coffee. Room was clean and has AC which works well, noise was limited though we slept with earplugs. The owner is specifically helpful for travellers and assists in planning your next move if desired, all in all a nice experience.

For those traveling on their own, meeting other folks is possibly difficult as you’re on the outskirts of Medan and there is no common living area.
