The location was close to town as promised. The rooms were very spacious.

The host never responded when I reached out about a toilet issue. The washer/dryer washed fine but did not dry clothes.

Stayed in room/flat 7 - it was large space with a comfy bed, lovely space with a good sized shower room and separate kitchen. Plenty of white fluffy towels.

The curtains didn't close properly but the windows were also all shuttered so more cosmetic than anything else but aesthetically it would have been good if they had been hung properly! Plus there had obviously been a leak on the bedroom ceiling which was stained.

Super central and very easy to access. Very helpful staff and comfortable bed.

Warning…..5 flights of stairs….lots of pigeons….point of contact person was cold and the place lacked a welcoming feel. Stairs to room were in need of cleaning….wifi code written in marker on door…fridge wasn’t cold…linens for room strewn on landing in large bags.

Shabby outside, smell of damp was overwhelming. The floor boards by the door / bathroom door were raised and presented a trip hazard. We were led to believe internet would be available but it was not. The host was very uncommunicative,

The property was very tired and needs some updating-the room door handle fell off (which was rectified promptly), the hand shower had been removed.

Very clean. Nice living room to relax in. Excellent location and we easily found free parking out front. Downstairs unit (#6) was nice and cool (Kinsale was experiencing unusually hot weather when we were there)

The WiFi was worthless - perhaps because we were in the downstairs unit. We were unable to get reliable internet so working was out of the question. The TV was unable to stream or show local channels because the internet was unreliable. Very disappointed that we were unable to watch World Cup Final from the unit.

Comfortable beds and great location!

It was in need of a dusting, we stayed last year and it was spotless. This year it was dusty and lots of cobwebs, my friend with asthma was coughing by the end of the weekend unfortunately. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay.

Excellent location, clean accommodation and good communication

We stayed at number six and the apartment was smelly, cold and damp. It was so damp that none of the towels dried across the two days and the clothes I brought with me I had to wash when I got home because they smelled damp and musty. This was despite warm weather all weekend. The shower door was broken and the floorboards were lifting at the entrance simply not acceptable for €250 in night. The other apartments may have been nice, but this basement department should not be rented out.

We loved our room 5 at the top of the house - only 54 stairs 😀 Lovely views from velux windows, and bath great. It was mentioned in previous reviews about some noise from other rooms, but we had none of that. Parking is street parking, which we thought may be a problem, but it wasn't, and it was in central beautiful Kinsale, which was brilliant.

A teaspoon would have been good! 😅

The location was certainly great. The room was well appointed and was nothing g more or less than what was needed.

Stairs, stairs and more stairs! Had we read previous reviews, we would have known this going into our stay. Be prepared if you’re staying here that not only are you climbing stairs inside the property, but also climbing stairs to get to the property.

The stairs were a problem. Don't remember being told about having LOTS of stairs.

The location and size of the room.

Neither of the two doors that lead to our room, one directly onto a shabby outside space and one to the landing, could lock. We called Varun for assistance and got no reply for the duration of our stay.The property was listed as pet friendly ,as so many are in Kinsale, and yet despite no daily clean we were going to be charged Euro 25 each day to bring our dog. Note for that you would not get a dog bed or dog bowls which has been our experience elsewhere. Our bed was hard and the linen was very tired. The milk provided was also out of date.

Good location and the rooms were a great size.

It was very noisy. We were woken up at night by people in the room next to us making noise, and again both mornings by people in the room next door or on other floors playing music etc. (it sounded like they were right outside our door, but was just poor noise insulation).

Excellent location and apartment 6, in the basement, was very spacious and modern. Very close to excellent restaurants and the water front.

The heating was on a timer and the rooms were very cold until we worked out where the timer was and put heating on constant. Also internet was very poor. Parking is hot and miss dependent upon timing of arrival in the town as parking is on street.

It's in a great location. The room was quiet, comfortable and well-equipped, with a bottle opener, kettle, cups etc.

It would be nice to have a bedside table and lamp on both sides of the bed not just one.

Really nicely renovated Old Dispensory that maintained it's charm and originality and yet modern. Comfy bed, beautiful bathroom. Lots of cupboard/closet space. Walkable to all of the downtown.

The Old Dispensary was excellent value for money and is perfectly located to wander around the town

The facility was not clean. I didn’t hear back from the host when I emailed with concerns about the apartment. We left early.

Great location close to town but still quiet.

Never received check in instructions, but did receive a message not meant for me about a dog. Asked for an early check in, no response. Called the number on Booking.com upon arrival. Someone called back on a different number and was very rude about providing the instructions, saying they were sent (after triple checking, I confirmed they were not). This is advertised as a hotel but it’s not. The bathroom wall was mouldy, which is understandable in some circumstances, but at this price point is unacceptable. The bathroom door didn’t close. The hall smelled of damp/mould. The sheets had stains on them. Not able to control the heating.

Great location in the heart of Kinsale. Everything is walkable. The studio is beautiful, but the bed is soft, and the kitchen is not well stocked. No pans were oven safe. No paring or chef’s knives. More than a few cobwebs.

The location was very handy to everything in Kinsale. The room had a small fridge, which was great. There was a bit of a plumbing issue, which was attended to promptly and thoroughly. There was free parking out front at the bottom of stairs.

The room was up four flights of stairs plus a large number of stairs from the street. The room was fairly small, no sitting area. It could really use a refresh of paint and also new bedding. No top sheet on the bed.

The location of the Dispensary was great. Close to everything for great pubs, dinner and entertainment. The size of the apartment was really nice.

There were a few things I’m not going into here.

Nothing realy maby the red carpet stairs but that's minor. Outside didn't give a good impression but inside lovely.

We had no running water for 24 hours, could not even flush the toillet. When I contacted the jost, he did not reple for over 12 hours as it was “out of working hours”. We have still had no reimbursement.

Place had not been cleaned to any standard.

The location was great however, there are lots of stairs leading up to the front door (which we knew about).

The noise from the boiler pump all thru our first nights stay, which I recorded, it could be heard on and off a few times after that, it kept us awake. Our 'Superior' room only had one chair and no table to sit at, and the TV had no signal. No water available for a few hours on the second last day of our holiday, the host said we would be compensated.

It was within walking distance of Kinsale town.

No hot water coming out of the tap in bathroom sink. The sofa was dirty, the skirting boards were filthy, as was behind the toilet & wash hand basin. The back yard, we couldn't let the dog out because it was very dirty. All in all we felt we were just given a room that was not clean because we had a dog. The television didn't work until I moved it to a different position, the programmes (what programmes!) were definitely very very old, we actually turned it off. No information pack, the info sheet gave the wrong password, no welcome pack! We couldn't access the property as the number was sent to my email address which was on my lap top at home, the phone number went straight to (unable to connect, try again later, which I tried about 10 times)

The location was in a great part of Kinsale, easy access to restaurants, shops, and water. The rooms were a nice size and decorated nicely.

The access to the building, from the street, was not convenient. There were two sets of steps just to get to the front door from the street. There is no lift and that should be noted. We had 6 rooms out of seven (from basement to 4th floor). This may work for some, but for 12 ladies, average age 65, not so much. Three rooms had no hot water for showers in the evening.

Location was great, 5-10 min walk into town, really easy. Nice big room.

Wifi doesn't work at all, neither did the TV. Do not stay if you are relying on having solid signal for work or otherwise. Walls are very thin so you can hear everyone else in the building coming in and out of the main door as well as coughing and chatting - not ideal. Also very bad comms from the owner, unresponsive to messages, didn't reply about a few questions and didn't get check in info until 1hour before.

Very disappointed from beginning to end. No show host. Over 100 steps and 100m walk to get to room Indecipherable WiFi code. Noisy. Good shower and reasonable queen size bed nice wardrobe!!!

We did not have a working key for our room. We emailed our contact and he was unresponsive. We carried our valuables wherever we went. The dignal for the tv didn’t work. Again, the representative was unresponsive.

Les draps n’avaient pas étaient changés : cheveux dans le lit et tâches. Deux serviettes minables pour deux personnes pour deux nuit. Et deux petites serviettes tachées. C’est inadmissible !

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower was a bit small. It did have a separate soaking tub. It was quiet and fairly close to things in town. It did not have any onsite parking.

Lovely big room with plenty of storage. Issues were, not particularly clean, bathroom cabinet in particular. No cover on the ironing board & no remote for the TV. Jacket left from previous guest. Great location.

The property is convenient to restaurants, pubs, and other attractions in Kinsale village. It was clean and well appointed.

Very disappointed with stay at The Old Dispensary it is very tired and dated and totally overpriced! Much nicer places available

Perfect location (be mindful there’s steps if that’s an issue for you) room was big and and big windows to let air in, my code didn’t work from self check in but the host answered the phone straight away and assisted, bathroom was lovely

Room was in desperate need of cleaning, I dropped something and it rolled under the bed - I don’t think under there ever been cleaned.. spring mattress needs to be replaced No option to get clean towels Bedding needs to be replaced, the fitted sheet on the mattress was nobly and uncomfortable Walls are very thin so can hear everything in the room beside you

The location is excellent, up a few steps from street level. Bear this is mind if you have suitcases. There is a bar just a few doors away and there is some noise from here at night, but nothing too much and didn't really disturb us. The room we had was large & spacious. 2 chairs would have been better than the one chair. There was tea & coffee provided and a mini fridge in the room. The bed was comfortable with power sockets nearby. The shower was excellent. Bathroom extractor fan was broken and some of the lights were also not working. Basic maintenance items could be improved. But overall, a nice lodge for a few days.

We had three rooms, all lovely and nicely presented, comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. Room 7 with the kitchen was the best room.

Out side of the property was a bit scruffy, but apart from that all good.

The room was big and fine but we did not know that we had to drag our heavy suitcases up a large flight of outside stairs and a flight inside the building. The towels in the bathroom were quite old and not to absorbent. The shower was very nice, however. The bed was comfortable, and the view from the windows were nice.

The apartment was a very good size, with an outdoor space, but unfortunately it was unclean, had a significant amount of black mould throughout the bathroom, hallway and bedroom area. The stairwell, entire apartment, bedding, towels and soft furnishings smelt strongly of damp. We came away with a lot of what look like flea bits We are disappointed, we feel that the price paid was not reflected in the apartment we were given, as you will see in the pictures a good majority could have been cleaned prior to our arrival

Very large room with comfortable bed and large bathroom. Quiet location just a short walk from the shops and restaurants. Room had a fridge and kettle.

Lovely airy room on the top floor, very clean, very close to the bars and restaurants. No issues parking on the road.just outside. Great shower. Big room, so a second chair and coffee table would work nicely. Kinsale is enchanting...

Know that there are a lot of steps up from the road and to room 5 at the top... if that is a challenge for you with suitcases.

Access to the front door is 15 steps before you climb an other 15 to your room! Torture with suitcases!

Bed comfortable shower very good Double room but only 1 bedside locker and 1 side lamp. Room badly needing an upgrade ie paint job as very dated. Towels provided were threadbare. Small outdoor area completely overgrown so useless. Door to ensuite would not close.
