Our stay at Hotel 8 Townhouse in Derry was very disappointing. The room wasn't cleaned properly. The beds were poorly made, the linens didn't look fresh, and we even found hairs in the room. The attached photo shows exactly how we found the beds when we first entered the room. There was also visible corrosion around the bathroom sink, suggesting poor maintenance. The room was far too small for two people, with no space to open our suitcases, making the stay uncomfortable. While the manager was polite and the breakfast was adequate, those positives didn't make up for the poor cleanliness, lack of maintenance, and cramped conditions. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here

A cute little townhouse in Derry that’s perfect for a city break. Great location, tucked close to the old city walls and just a short walk from traditional Irish pubs full of charm, character and live music. It’s an ideal base for exploring the city. Our double room was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Can’t comment on breakfast as we never made it down, but it looked to be a nice selection of cereals and fresh bread for toasting.

Room was small, but had everything I needed as a solo traveller. Kieran was very welcoming.

La casa es vieja y las habitaciones también. Los colchones están ya muy pasados y son realmente incómodos. Hay muchísimo polvo y las cortinas huelen a meados. Cuando llegamos, la calefacción estaba a tope pese a estar a 20ºC en la calle!!. El baño es minúsculo, aunque reconozco que la ducha funciona bien. Las toallas estaban deshilachadas. Otra cosa que no me gusta es que no hay ninguna persona en la casa, totalmente desatendida, solo para el desayuno. Las ventanas en invierno tienen que dar mucho frío porque no cierran bien. El desayuno es muy pobre, viene el que supongo que es el dueño y te hace café, fin de la historia. Luego puedes coger cereales, tostadas, y algo de fruta... pero ni un triste croisant... leí comentarios de que antes preparaba platos calientes, supongo que ya no le interesa mas que ir una hora por la mañana a hacer café y hacer las camas para los siguientes huéspedes. Una sensación de abandono de todo bastante triste. No hubiera pagado por todo más de 40€ por habitación y noche.

Clear and friendly instructions about arrival times, parking, key collection etc. Beautifully furnished room, and quite spacious. Lovely view of the town walls. Comfortable bed. Good quality breakfast items.

Towels had seen better days, as had the curtains. Some staining on the bed covers.

No 8, The Townhouse is located right at the Derry walls on a quiet street. The location is perfect to explore the city on foot. It is a tall terrace. We were in a quiet room, at the top and at the back. Very comfortable, clean bed. Breakfast is cereal, toast and fruit all looked after by Kieran the friendly host. We would highly recommend No 8 for a Derry break.

Ottima posizione e molto curata la struttura. Anche la colazione è servita in un ambiente molto intimo e curata anche nella varietà dei prodotti. Host molto simpatico e disponibile.

L'unica nota per noi è stata quella dell'assegnazione stanza perchè viaggiavamo con valigie molto grandi e ci è stata data la stanza all'ultimo piano della struttura, con le tipiche scale strette delle case Irlandesi e inglesi.

Adorable chambre, très 'cosy', au troisième étage d'une vieille maison de ville avec un escalier en bois dont les marches craquent quand on monte... on entend aussi le roucoulement des pigeons qui nichent en face de la fenêtre... Emplacement idéal pour visiter la ville (juste en face des remparts). Accueil très agréable et délicieux petit déjeuner

La ubicación es excelente, lo único bueno de este hotel.

Relación calidad precio pésima. Limpieza justa, moho en el baño y las ventanas, toallas deshilachadas, y algunos escalones de la escalera parecía que fueran a hundirse dando muy poca seguridad al subir la escalera que llevaba a la segunda planta que es donde estaba la habitación.

Gorgeous heritage property in a wonderful location within the city walk. Location was quiet, convenient and owner friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great. I loved this hotel.

Great location, very comfortable room, perfectly laid out for aunt and niece. Comfy beds, slept great. Excellent supply of sockets, charging stations etc. Host Kieran was very friendly, great communication before visit. Good selection of teas and different types of bread for breakfast.

Short breakfast period 8-9am, and quite an early checkout…out by 1030 latest - although to be fair Kieran did say we could leave our bags downstairs until later if we wished to. In my opinion cereals and bread/toast is quite a limited breakfast, perhaps boiled/poached/scrambled eggs would be a more filling option, even if a full fry-up is not possible. But what was available was well-presented and fresh as could be.

it was very very cold inside the room, windows are very very old and all the drafts are coming inside. It was pretty uncomfortable. The room didn't feel much clean and above us ppl kept walking ALL NIGHT. we couldn't rest much

El alojamiento está en el centro, muy cerca de las murallas. El dueño es agradable y me permitió dejar la maleta unas horas después del check in. Hay desayuno, que si bien es sencillo, se agradece.

Considero que el precio pagado fue muy elevado para la calidad de las instalaciones. La cama no era muy cómoda y la habitación minúscula. Hay un edificio abandonado con palomas justo al lado que molestan y hacen mucho ruido.

Lack of parking was stressfull. 3 flights of stairs a bit much for pensioners with lots of luggage which we didnt feel could be left on display in the car parked on the street

The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was a little simple but very nice, and the entire place was cute and homely. The location was also very nice as it was right by the centre, which meant most places were around a 5 minute walk away. We had a lovely conversation with the person running the place during breakfast, would recommend.

Die herzliche Aufnahme und die feine Ironie des Vermieters, der sich selbst um das Frühstück der Gäste kümmert und als Gesprächspartner mit Niveau zur Verfügung steht. Die Lage direkt an der begehbaren Stadtmauer (eine Touristenattraktion in Derry) und die fußläufige Entfernung zum Bahnhof und allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt sind ebenfalls hervorzuheben.

Man hätte gerne mehr über die Geschichte des Hauses (georgianisch, 18. Jahrhundert, wahrscheinlich denkmalgeschützt) erfahren.

i'd have liked it the most if breakfast could have been earlier than 8am, especialy on a weekday. i could not get a full blackout of the room and so woke up really early in the morning at this time of year!

We really enjoyed staying in The Number 8 Townhouse and would highly recommend it. Kieran, the host was so lovely and helpful. He communicated with us before the arrival and made our morning with a nice breakfast. He even offered us to leave our backpacks for storage and helped us order a taxi when our plans changed. Our room was beautifully decorated and it was facing the famous Derry walls. Could not have been better. Thank you Kieran!

Um die Stadt zu entdecken war die Lage sehr gut. Der Stellplatz vor dem Haus war für die Nacht kostenlos.

Die Unterkunft war nicht gut, das Badezimmer veraltet. Hinter dem Haus war eine Bauruine , in der sehr viele Tauben leben, so dass man sich nicht traute die Fenster zu öffnen, da sie auch auf dem Fensterbrett saßen. Das Frühstück war einfach, wie es wohl in Nordirland üblich ist.

We liked pretty much everything about this place - the room was clean, comfortable and pleasant, the price was fair and affordable, and the location was perfect. We also really enjoyed meeting and talking with the proprietor, Kieran, on the morning we had to leave, and wished we'd been able to stay in Derry (at Number 8) awhile longer. Would definitely book here again and will recommend to others, as well.

There was really nothing we didn't like.

Location to the bus and train stations as we were traveling by bus and train. Also ideally located just inside the Derry walls and thus accessible to all areas within the town. Great continental breakfast included in the room rate.

The bathroom in our room could use a little maintenance but it was perfectly adequate for our two-night stay.

I wasn't enamoured with the property

I didn't like the damp smell of the hotel. I didn't like being on the top floor up five sets of stairs. There was a broken pigeon coup outside the window and when I opened the window to try to air the room the birds settled on the sill so I had to close them again. The hotel was very tatty and the tiny bathroom look a bit grubby. There were no staff on hand to speak to. Eventually we had to leave and book another hotel. When I did get the host, Kieran, on the phone he hung up on me and refused to take my call. I got no refund. Very disappointed. I would recommend avoid this awful host and hotel.

While parking was free and on the street outside the townhouse, it was available only 5:30 pm to 9:30 am. Outside of those hours it was one hour parking only. The spaces were almost always full until late evening.

Gastgeber hat sich über 2 Monate nicht auf eine einfache Frage gemeldet. Wir brauchten Platz für 2 Räder. Die hatte er nicht. Die Info haben wir erst erhalten, nachdem die Stonierungsfrist abgelaufen war. Leider gab es keine Einigung, da der Gastgeber, weder auf Mail noch auf Telefon reagiert hat. Die Kosten sind weg, obwohl wir das Hotel nicht genutzt haben. Vorsicht bei dem Anbieter. Wer da böses vermutet, Wir haben dann ein anderes schönes Hotel gebucht - Maldron, direkt um die Ecke sehr schön, freundlich um im Gegensatz zu dem hier auch sehr Hilfsbereit.

It was so welcoming , very clean and the breakfast room was like catching up with your family in the morning .I was in the single room , small , but just right for me , very cosy and comfy .such a central location , so easy to get around the city and museums from as well as round the corner from the theatre and shopping centre .I will be back !!

The room was dirty and as small as a broom closet. The es a tiny bed and no space around it. Dust was everywhere and the floors were dirty. I couldn’t stay there and informed the property that I wanted a refund.

See response above. The room I was given was smaller than a broom closet and dirty. I literally had no space to move. Another resident in the hotel showed me his room which was five times the size and the same price! My room was dirty either way dust everywhere and lint and dirt on the floor. I couldn’t stay there and left as soon as I found another hotel. I informed the property of the problem but received no response. I want a refund but have heard nothing. Worst hotel room I’ve ever seen.
