Shipquay Boutique Hotel

When we arrived we were greeted at reception by a lady and gentleman who were very welcoming and fun! We each received a glass of bubbly. There were little biscuits left in the room, together with a personalised welcome letter. The room was comfortable and the hotel was very central. We went to the bar later in the evening, where, a was a girl singing which was lovely. Beautiful breakfast the next morning with all the trimmings and a little glass of mimosa, the staff were lovely, would definitely return.

The room was fine, compact but had everything and was spotless. The staff at the reception were exceptionally brilliant. Very welcoming and helpful in giving me a hand with where to park and get around the area. They couldn't provide early check in so I left my suitcase at the reception on arrival and went for an event. The suitcase was waiting for me in the room by the time I returned. That was really nice.

The breakfast menu was good but it was cooked to order. It would have been nice to have a buffet.

The hotel location is excellent, and front reception is wonderful. However the hotel room is below our expectation- the Ferryquay is at the end of the aisle which is extremely noisy. And the cleaning room is also next to it, somehow the cleaning crew left that room open for the whole morning- see picture below

We stayed in the Bond room, feel it could do with an upgrade particularly the bathroom which looked a bit grubby. Noise from the air con unit outside our window really disturbed our sleep.

Very centrally located, beautifully decorated and very clean. The only problem was that the room was quite warm and it was hard to get air circulating with a small fan.

We really loved our stay here. We got an upgrade when we arrived and 2 glasses of Prosecco also. Very nice touch! Our room was very spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in. Lovely modern bathroom and little treats left in the room. Great big breakfast and all the staff were so lovely to deal with! Parking was just up the road too so very ideal!

A beautiful welcoming hotel in the heart of Derry city. The decor of the hotel is gorgeous and it is exceptionally clean. All staff members are so friendly and helpful. The bedroom was beautiful - a gorgeous king size bed with lovely linen and the freestanding bath added a touch of luxury. The little touches that stood out for us was the welcoming glass of champagne when checking in. The truffles and cookies and bottles of water in our room, the robes and slippers and fresh milk for our tea instead of UHT cartons . The breakfast was delicious and again it was the little extra touches like a glass of mimosa that makes you feel you are in a luxury hotel .

My experience was extremely positive. The Shipquay hotel is excellent. The central location is ideal as a base for exploring Derry and the hotel itself is lovely in terms of its appearance and its decor. My room was perfect, very spacious, and the restaurant couldn't be faulted. A nice environment, responsive service and delicious food (both breakfast and dinner). Most importantly, all the hotel staff were friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. I will be returning to the Shipquay Hotel on my next visit to Derry!

our stay was divine! We love the hotel and the city and plan to be back next year after Fleadh. Appreciate the warm hospitality! And the view from our room - guildhall clock tower and river - was stunning. Restaurant is superb, pub has the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. thanks!

room very small and the restaurant extractor fan outside went from 7am to 10pm - very noisy. could hear it in the restaurant too, sounded like it needed servicing. common areas a bit worn.

On nous a donné une chambre PMR sans nous avertir Très inconfortable au niveau salle de bain. Douche sans cabine qui n’a jamais fonctionné, lavabo minuscule et très bas. Pas de brosse pour les toilettes. La réceptionniste ne s’est pas excusé lorsque je lui en ai fait la remarque. Dans la deuxième chambre à l’autre bout du couloir une odeur nauséabonde. Ça n’est pas à la hauteur de la catégorie de l’hôtel

So central and cosy clean rooms. It was my partners birthday and they had left a little plate with chocolates in the room for arrival and a birthday card which was a nice touch. Staff were pleasant.

Some stains on the carpet/ marks on the furniture but obviously just wear and tear however it was clean and comfortable.

We experienced such friendly staff. Nothing was too much for them. Comfortable beds and pillows and they give you everything you need. Good was first class and we will definitely be back soon. Thanks Shipquay.😁

We had a great stay at The Shipquay Hotel. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and are an asset to the business. The dinner menu was great and the breakfast was exceptional. Comfortable room and lovely soft towels and robe. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Trip to the Millennium Forum for a show and decided to stay over. Absolutely lovely hotel with excellent staff notably reception. Room was great and lots of additional wee touches to make it memorable from bubbly on arrival to truffles and shortbread in the room which all appeared home made - breakfast was top tier

Have stayed in the beautiful Shipquay Hotel before. It is unique because of it's size. Small but full of beautiful rooms and with staff that make you feel at home while enjoying being pampered. Food is excellent, beautifully presented, great choice and served by pleasant and very helpful staff.

The hotel was located in a good spot local to plenty of places to eat and shop. The room was a good size and bed was massive.

If im being picky the view was poor from the room as it faced a wall, but apart from that everything else was good.

La posizione della struttura è comoda e centrale. La colazione è varia e di buona qualità, servita in una sala ristorante bella e accogliente. Il personale è gentile. Al nostro arrivo ci è stato offerto un calice di prosecco di benvenuto (purtroppo non era fresco) e in camera abbiamo trovato acqua e dei biscotti di benvenuto, anche se questi ultimi non avevano un aspetto particolarmente invitante. I letti sono molto comodi.

Abbiamo prenotato due camere doppie. Purtroppo entrambe avevano la finestra affacciata direttamente su un muro: avremmo apprezzato che questo fosse indicato chiaramente al momento della prenotazione, perché entrare in camera e trovarsi davanti un muro non dà una buona impressione. Inoltre, l’aria nella stanza e negli spazi comuni risultava piuttosto pesante e, dato l’affaccio sulla corte interna, anche aprendo la finestra era difficile ottenere un buon ricambio d’aria. In una delle due camere, accanto alla finestra, passava una tubazione dell’impianto molto rumorosa, che durante la notte risultava particolarmente fastidiosa. A questo si aggiungeva un altro rumore intermittente, rendendo il riposo poco confortevole. Sempre quella camera era dotata di bagno accessibile alle persone con disabilità. Comprendiamo che questo comporti caratteristiche diverse, ma il lavabo era davvero molto piccolo e poco pratico da utilizzare, mentre la doccia allagava completamente il pavimento del bagno dopo ogni utilizzo.

We booked a triple room but there were only 2 towels 2 cups and 2 bottles of water. Rectified immediately so wasn't a big deal!!

This hotel is in the perfect location. This is our second time staying in recent months and this trip was as good as the last. The staff are wonderful. Lauren in Reception and the girls who served us breakfast were so lovely. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in this wonderful city.

This is a truly exceptional hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful and really make you welcome and take time to chat. The breakfast was lovely, a great choice of freshly-cooked dishes. We had dinner too twice during our stay and enjoyed it.

We were in town for a wedding that the after party took place at the Thirsty Goat. Location was perfect. Room was absolutely perfect for my adult daughter and I.

No AC, we are Americans, lol. But there was a fan in the room which helped make it more comfortable. Every thing else was perfect

We loved our stay at the Shipquay Boutique Hotel. Such beautiful decor right from the pretty flowers surrounding the entrance to the entry to our amazing corner room. Check-in was enjoyable as Lisa was engaging and friendly. Our room was spacious and had a fabulous view of Guildhall and the historic city walls. It was the most comfortable bed with the best bedding. I actually laid down again after our delicious breakfast in the hotel restaurant as I didn’t want to leave! Truly one of the best stays on our Ireland trip. Thank you!
